The complaints and people yelling that the pool is broken always seem to happen every time the pool has a run of bad luck, which does happen occasionally on every pool.

Rest assured that if your shares are being accepted, then nothing is broken on the pool side.

(As I was typing this we just found two blocks in a row... woot)

There were just a few funky things going onwith the pool payouts. for example my minimum payout is set to .4 btc, and yet on the 19th I received a payout of 0.31505007 BTC.

Luck is a real annoyance on pools Sad there are times on other pools I had blocks lasting five days!!!!

I think we are all seeing a drop in luck over the last week with some nice blocks recently. p2pool just picked up 4 within a 24 hour window! but before that only 2 in 6 days.
btw my payout only 2 days ago came through perfectly so no issues there.

It happens more often than you might think.  In March there were 2 blocks back-to-back that Eligius found in 8 seconds each Smiley  Block height # 292091 and 292092.  The last 6 second block found by Eligius happened in February.  There was a 3 second block on 31 December 2013, which is the fastest Eligius block on record since January 2012.

Is there a special reason why we get so many blocks back-to-back? Other than pure luck?

ok, yes I get it. With pure luck you have to assume that sometimes stuff like that happens. Or else it wouldn't be pure luck.

Round time is always luck based.  Doesn't matter if it's long or short.

M

ok, yes I get it. With pure luck you have to assume that sometimes stuff like that happens. Or else it wouldn't be pure luck.

Exactly!  That's why you shouldn't complain with long rounds, because the short rounds average them out.

Is there some payout system with Eligius? Do they pay out once in 24 hours, or how do they handle this. Before i had to write a ticket to get 2.4 BTC, and now they are again cumulated 2.8 BTC. I am doing something wrong?

20% dif increase -- wtf

all these increases really F**K me off

Everywhere you look there's people trying to get people interested in Bitcoin - but to be honest -
- increases  make it pretty impossible to earn anything.

Why would you want to invest in mining Bitcoin when you see your investment get wiped out in the same month- ordered 2 S1 - making 5
set them up 3rd June and by end of June they pretty much not earning a penny just back to where I was before Sad

I am not after earning a million ,  a return of investment and a little on top would be nice.

I really hope something bad happens to the greedy people  who are forcing  small scale users like me out Sad

Well, welcome to the crypto world.
Mining is not everybodys game.
People should be interested in bitcoin, to trade with it, and accept it in their business...

NOT to mine it. Mining is not for everybody.

So you see, you can invest in bitcoin and have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO with mining yourself.

Deal with it. Nobody promised you anything... in fact I am pretty sure you were warned!  Cool

Bitcoin is designed to keep the number of blocks solved to about 1 per 10 minutes.  You aren't the only one trying to make a buck off of it, and the difficulty is adjusting accordingly.  That's the double edged sword of the mining world.

Choose wisely where you put your BTC.

Thanks you two Smiley

I know about all the ins and outs, but it still peeves me off.

And having a big hangover doesn't help much.
