541  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will you buy Bitcoin when it drops to 100$-1k? on: January 31, 2018, 07:08:58 AM
I don't think I would buy bitcoin even under $100. I don't think bitcoin will ever rally again like it has in the past. There is too much competition with alt coins, which didn't exist before. Scaling and technical issues with bitcoin have come to light recently, which we did not know about before. Bitcoin will eventually become literally worthless IMO, or very close to it.
Oh really? But most of those coins that you refer to that competes with btc have more technical issues but ain't seen clearly yet because there are less numbers of people using alts at the moment. I doubt that they will be able to accommodate even 1/4 of the total users of bitcoin. Right now it is nearly impossible for bitcoin to drop at 100$ but still, I would rebuy some if ever it really did drop in that price.
542  Economy / Speculation / Re: Apocalypse BTC! How low will it go? on: January 31, 2018, 05:23:14 AM
Based from some TA of top crypto traders. Bitcoin's lowest drop might be $1000. And that is the worst case. If Bitcoin drops to $5k that is still normal. BTC really needs to have a huge drop to accelarate to $100k. Just trust BTC, take a look to its current volume. Crypto is already on trillion cap.
I am also expecting that huge drop but I think Bitcoin dropping to 1000$ is normal and is not the lowest it can revert back to. The lowest possible depending on what will happen in the next coming months IMO is sub 1000$ after all before this long bullish trend btc is less than 600$ and haven't gone back to those price ranges ever since. The only wuedtion though is if we will see history repeat itself or not? That's what we'll find out later on.
543  Economy / Economics / Re: Fast Forward Time with Bitcoin thought experiment question on: January 31, 2018, 04:19:38 AM
If you ask me, IF BTC becomes the dominant world currency, fiat would still be around BUT it would slowly base its value on BTC, rather than BTC basing its value on fiat.
That is if btc will be successful in dominating against other world currency but why do you even think of it dominating atm if Bitcoin itself has gone astray? Instead of it being used as a currency, it is seen by most of it's users as an asset. I can say this for certain because most of us here hodling bitcoin just speculates how it's price will be higher tomorrow and how we will get profit from it. That's not the proper use of a currency IMO and for btc to dominate world currency, it needs to be used in transactions more.
544  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is the South Korean stock exchange is so little support cryptocurrency? on: January 30, 2018, 02:35:05 PM
Being cautious may have negative effects on the availability of other coins in their country but its not all bad. They are doing that to protect the people and also their reputation for bringing quality services for the citizens.
Rather it might be the other way around. They might be doing it for themselves. They so it so that their government would not lose control over finances of the country. I might be wrong but we must consider all possible reasons as to why they only offer only a variety of cryptocurrency. It is true though that they are being cautious on adding cryptos.
545  Economy / Economics / Re: CRYPTOCURRENCIES as the centralized TOOL to CONTROL the WORLD on: January 30, 2018, 01:29:42 PM
And that we were all wrong, thinking that we are decentralizing the economy, when in reality we are contributing to the creation of what could be the perdition of our liberty.

(I used google translate since I do not fully master English Wink )
It will still be up to the people anyway if they will let themselves be controlled via cryptocurrency's or not. Either way, I don't think that this would help elites to gain total control to centralize the world unless someone have known a way to hack blockchain which is impossible at the moment. If that is the case then the question is why are they not starting to hack it now while it is still early?
546  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price "drop" on: January 30, 2018, 11:39:46 AM
I feel like it's my obligation to share my 2 cents on current "steep" drop of bitcoin price. I find it absolutely unbelievable when people say how low the price of btc is, speaking of the price at $10k or $11k. Those who have been in this industry long enough to remember the price of btc to be $5 are just shrugging their shoulders short of words.

What I'm trying to say is that those new community members so called "hypers" should stop spreading fud when price goes down and same goes with price growing. Actually growing price of btc is kind of problem as it's starting to miss its original purpose of cheap quick transactions. We need people focusing on real value of this ecosystem rather than moon kids...

Thanks for hearing me, couldn't help myself
It's price is still high now as is and I won't say that it is low after all it has been stuck on a price range below 1000$ just before this bearish trend started. Let the hypers FUD all they want. We will also benefit even if they do it because it will present another good entry point for us to rebuy. You are right though that it has long gone to the wrong path since it is merely used for speculations nowadays.  I hope I will see the day that btc transactions are fast and have cheap fees.
547  Economy / Economics / Re: "Switzerland wants to be a crypto nation" Economic minister. on: January 30, 2018, 10:52:40 AM
I read this news at  https://www.fxstreet.com/news/swiss-ecomin-switzerland-wants-to-be-a-crypto-nation-201801300630  and its  really gladly my heart.
Economy minister Johann Schneider Ammann, Said "Switzerland want to be a crypto nation" as at the time when many developed and developing countries are expressing their negative options on cryptocoin and we are hearing news that many countries want to ban it. What is your take on this move or comments?
The move itself is nice but it will be better if they will really execute it and become a crypto nation. It is very likely that ilthe crypto nation plan of theirs would not be set into action. I also doubt if it will be approved by their government. Probably this bit of news will continue to be just a plan unless they officially announced it to their citizens. It is also a huge step for crypto as it can be the dawn of cryptocurrency's revolution.
548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cardano knocks off BTC's Crown on: January 29, 2018, 09:39:33 PM
Hi everyone, just a curious question. Can Cardano surpass BTC & ETH?
I know that it is currently undervalued - or so I think; But with ADA's solidity and scalability prospect is it ever going to happen?

Your thoughts please... Need to make a long term investment decision on this.
It won't surpass btc because ADA doesn't have a real product yet. It also does not got what it takes to put up a fight with btc and ethereum, it is only in it's early phases after all. Even if that is the case, ADA is profitable as is and it still got a lot of potential to grow. If you are in for a long term hodl why not invest now without thinking of it surpasing btc or not?
549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2018 year of the Doge in China? on: January 29, 2018, 09:02:21 PM
I will not be surprised if around Chinese New Year (16th Feb) there will be super higher investment in Doge.. Chinese mentality is just like that..
Don't expect Doge to rise just because of Chinese mentality. Do you even think that they will be attracted to invest into Doge? It is also a Chinese mentality to only invest on those they see potential to profit and Doge ain't one of those because it's tech is not good and there is nothing to drive it into a bulish trend. I think they won't because they know it ain't profitable. Even if it did go up, it will only pump a little and that's it.
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EIDOO Wallet [EDO] Will have a value $ 10 after the release of the exchange on: January 29, 2018, 12:12:14 PM
To start with what will make Eidoo achieve those 10$ from your prediction.

1.Inbuilt exchange coming up within the App.
2.Wallet support for BTC.
3.Airdrops especially for Eidoo wallet users.
4.ICO engine to host new ICO's which can only be taken part by eidoo users.
5.A regular burn of EDO tokens.
Eidoo roadmap from what you have given here so far is good. It really can achieve 10$ if all in your list happens. Although that is the case,I think it won't achieve it if one of those are not done as promised by EIDOO. I would also try to research for myself to determine whether eidoo will really reach 10$ or not but I think it is achieveable.
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coins to invest? on: January 29, 2018, 11:07:57 AM
Hi, I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on what coin I should invest in next. (About 50 to 100 pounds). I have narrowed it down to

1.ENG
2. WAVES
3. REQ
4. WTC

This is just based off me lurking this sub/reddit and checking out any coins that people seem to prefer and researching them individually, they all seem like good coins that I have faith in but I want to narrow it down to 2 if not 1 coin to invest in.
I currently have some BNB, NEO, ETH, XLM, ICX, VEN

Thanks
Why not divide to those four coins for diversity?  That way you will have a better chance for profit in case any of those coins or if all pumped and reached your target price. If I were to choose one though, I would choose waves since it is one of the best in the list and is the one with most potential for growth considering it has been dormant for long and is having valued for a long time.
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feedback on my alts. on: January 28, 2018, 12:57:49 PM

Amlt – got advice to get this.
Hoqu – first ico.
Tradove – had good reviews.

Thanks

I think your altcoins stash is nice as is but you shouldn't have had bought them at an all time high. Nevertheless, set your target selling prices now while it is early so that you can determine how long you will really hold those coins. I also suggest that you set your sell orders already to the prices you intend to sell them too if they are inside an exchange so that you won't need to open and look on it daily just to see if the current price is what you are waiting for.
553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Confused about value USD/satoshis on: January 28, 2018, 10:59:03 AM
I'm still pretty new to the entire crypto stuff so bear with me if this sounds stupid.

I have a question about the value of a coin in USD and satoshis, and why it goes up and down all the time.

Let's take VEN for example.

How come the current price for VEN (looking at ETH pair) is currently 0.00571000 ETH for 1 VEN, valued at $7.00?
When it was 0.0066 ETH for 1 VEN, valued at the same dollar mark, only a day or 2 ago?

Same for NEO, I bought a few at 0.127000 ETH (valued at around $140-145) , but right now it is 0.119004 ETH for 1 NEO. Yet, the price in USD is higher than before. (now around $148-150)

For example, 100 NEO would cost you an exact amount of 13 ETH. When you want to sell these 100 NEO now, it would get you 12 ETH, but the USD price is the same as it was with 13 ETH, how is this possible?

Am I losing money now? Did I do right to buy when ETH was dropping?

There's probably a very good way of understanding this "issue" but if someone could ELI5 me, that would be great.
To answer your first question, you didn't gain nor lost anything if dollar value is also the same as before. In the case of neo, you have gained a profit in USD but you have lost some in terms of ETH but let me ask, what currency do you want to base your trade on first? If you want to have fiat as your base pair then you are not losing money now but if you want your main base pair in ETH then you are losing some.
554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITCONNECT X FUTURE.. on: January 28, 2018, 09:26:01 AM
hello everyone is bitconnectx has future as a exchanger despite what happen in bcc?
Don't ever trust bitconnectx after all who will trust them if they have stolen money from their users anyway? It would be very risky to trust them because they might do the same thing again after a period of time and for this reason I wouldn't trust them with my money. It has no future and one is better off using other exchangers because they are less riskier than bitconnectx.
555  Other / Meta / Re: How Secure is BitcoinTalk? on: January 27, 2018, 11:51:17 PM
Don't worry about it because bitcointalk is secure. As far as I know  anyone can get IP address of any user here in bitcointalk if they know a thing or two about hacking but according to this thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=676827.0, no one can ascertain your identity by merely getting your IP address. If the government forces they to release information, then he will but it won't happen if you are not involved in something illegal.
556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who works in crypto industry? on: January 26, 2018, 01:00:06 PM
I know mining and bounty takes a lot of your time, but I mean work with everyday schedule and salary.

What do you do? What is your position? Do you like your work?

For example, I am KickCity community manager. Soon we launch Token Sale. I bring all community together. In spite of the fact this work takes a lot of time, I do really enjoy my work  Smiley

If you would like to see the team I work in please visit website https://ico.kickcity.io
You can see a bit of my work in Telegram chat https://t.me/kickcity_chat

What about you?
I don't work in crypto industry in a regular basis but I do know that some users work here in a daily basis. One good example here is the campaign managers. They get paid by managing bounty campaigns but I really don't know the specifics into how much they earn from every bounty they manage. Other people who work in crypto are those who are part of an ICO like you. Besides those jobs, there are some who offers escrow services here but they don't have a fixed salary.
557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Cardano (ADA) overvalued or undervalued? on: January 26, 2018, 11:50:51 AM
I bought into ADA when it was much lower than now. Now Cardano is sitting at a $14 billion market cap, it was $32 billion at the peak. Do you consider Cardano to be over- or undervalued ... and why?

Do you believe that it will be able to 'deliver more advanced features than any protocol previously developed' as it seeks to according to its website?
I don't consider it as overvalued because I think it really deserves it current price but I don't think it is undervalued after all it still has no working product in sight. If they will release a new working product that can be seen, I might change my opinion but for now it is neither overvalued or undervalued. I suggest that you hold what you got don't sell at loss yet.
558  Other / Meta / Re: is this way to earn merits? on: January 25, 2018, 01:07:58 PM
Is there any way we can find out whos giving merit to who? Ex. if I view an account to see who credited him a merit and what posts he was credited to.
There is a way to find out who is giving merits to who. You don't need to view his account. Instead you can see in a user's post who gave him merits and how much merit they gave to the post. For example, theymos' original post in his thread about Merit and new rank requirements gained him some merits and it can be seen on the post who gave him merits and how much. Here is the link of the post I am talking about : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.msg28856522#msg28856522
559  Economy / Speculation / Re: And another one stops accepting bitcoin payment on: January 25, 2018, 12:01:37 PM
All is correctly written in the article. Human greed has turned bitcoin into an asset for accumulation. This is very bad. This situation makes us all vulnerable. If tomorrow all the leading countries and the banks agree to block flow of money from the exchange of bitcoins for Fiat, we will witness the end of bitcoin.
You got a good point there but but it is impossible for now. Also Bitcoin wouldn't meet it's end by banks merely trying to stop the flow of money from exchanges. There will always be loopholes that will allow people to use Bitcoin conveniently and by that time bitcoin will only have a low price. If this goes on, there will come a day that Bitcoin is not used as a currency anymore.
560  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10.000 $ still remain a strong support. Trend is not changed yet. on: January 25, 2018, 10:29:51 AM
With $191.367.051.980 in capitalization, is impossible to pump (or dump) artificially Bitcoin. Maybe when price was 50 time less than now, some little pump was possible too. But not now, now with this market volume  Smiley
You are right but the question is how long will this support last? Will it survive and overcome the selling pressure everyone has got? Whatever happens I am sure that the result would be exciting to see. If it dumped and support has been totally consumed, I am sure everyone would be glad to rebuy back at cheaper price. The same way will happen when it pumps. The only difference is that everyone would be happy because those who have Bitcoin gained profit again.
