5441  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Avalon Avalon2 Setup + Silencer Mod on: July 07, 2014, 01:37:30 PM
I received an Avalon2 105 about a week and a half ago. Just found time to set it up. I'm only getting 25 to 30 GH/s. I have more rejected than accepted. Running a 600 watt supply Raspberry Pi.
Anyone have any idea?
Exactly what PSU is it?

I am running CoolMax 80 Plus ZX series 600 watt.

You'll need to test with another PSU, as its unusual to get some but degraded performance when something isnt working.

RE #5, its always a good idea to sandwich when you're not too bothered about density. The costs of the extra aluminium are almost inconsequential to the potential 2-5% hash rate gains over the lifetime of the product, which itself is extended. And while QFN packaging does exude most of its heat through the bottom, there is still a reasonable amount through the topside. Hence ASICMiner Blade gen 1 and 2s still required airflow over their topsides, and Antminer S1s benefitted by the addition of baby heat-sinks onto their topsides.

RE #6, you can always tape over them if you don't want them. When I put miners (heaters) in the bedroom I tape over my LEDs.

Guys, did someone deal with Segree - BitWinkor?
Why they are not in this rating? Is there a reason for not mention them here?

Sorry if this my post should not be posted in this thread...

I've been avoiding adding the 'factory' companies on here because their levels of quality/reliability/accountability/wecanactuallytellwhereeachmachinecamefrom are so low. SB may get added due to the Avalon situation though.

Does anything above a D - failing grade - mean that company is safe to order from and I can expect to receive product as advertised and in a reasonable amount of time? ie 1 - 2 weeks

No, absolutely not. Even A companies could absolutely fail on a shipment or turn full scam. Look what happened to KNC, they've fallen off a cliff.

The guide is to be used to augment your own research and decision making process. No one can tell you what to do with your money or what will happen in the future.

this is not an official reliable thread - the rankings are purly fictional - the way this works is when a company performs badly they can hook dogie up so they can get a better ranking - its all b.s. - do not check this thread for reliability - its useless

If you spent 10th of the time you spent trolling here on actually contacting your local law enforcement, you might actually get your money back.

You didn't order from them, hence you can't quote an order number.

Isn't this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=294197.msg7703787#msg7703787 enough to downgrade them? Why do you need an order number for reviewing them?

He's talking about Lightning ASIC not blackarrow. He sent btc to a scammer pretending to be them because he typed in the wrong skype ID, but still wants the legitimate company downgraded.

"the (UK) government has persuaded ISPs to introduce web filters that claim to protect children from content they shouldn't see online. In reality, filters block much more than they should leading to the censorship of information."

One of those sites is this website.

I just checked the site again, and it seems Plusnet is no longer blocking bitcointalk.

I'm on plusnet and never seen it go down.

i dont know if it is right to ask this question here or not but hope you guys put me in right direction!!!

i have a LEPA 1000W PSU and would like to connect all of my mining hardware with it (as below list)

1 x wifi router
3 x Raspberry Pi Boards
1 x Gridseed Dual Miner
1 x Rock miner
1 x 20 ports USB hub
1 x 10 port usb hub

i know 1000W PSU will be more than enough to fulfill electricity needs for all above however i wanted to ask you what connectors should i use to connect all of above devices with the PSU and from where i can buy them.

i found one(see below) connector which fulfills power needs of gridseed and wifi router.

http://postimg.org/image/3xsh9izax/

thanks for any suggestion and advise

PCI-E to 2.1mm adapter for the gridseeds
PCI-E to 2.5mm adapter for the rockminer.
USB cable to Pis

I wouldn't power anything else off the PSU, you're better off getting their mains adaptors.

thanks bro, this what i thought that main adaptors will be good but i have only 2 main power sockets and on spare PSU so thought worth to give it a try.

Will cost you much less to just get a gangway or whatever they're called Tongue

Don't short it on the PSU itself, they're not the same pin outputs and many pins are bridged. Bad things may happen.

Thank you for this guide! It is the perfect weapon against dishonest companies.

I have been waiting for my 65nm hardware for a year and a half (I upgraded it to a Monarch and have been waiting 8 months for that now). Your guide is very accurate about that company. Do not buy from BFL!

yes but this site has lightning asic as an A.. and i will never get my products, this guide being correct is just a coincidence
You don't have an order with lightning asic so no, you won't receive any products from them.

that makes no sense
You didn't order from them, hence you can't quote an order number.
