5501  Economy / Economics / Re: I think we just started a bubble. on: November 03, 2015, 06:25:34 PM
I really hope the market adjusts soon, luckily this isn't the same situation as in 2013/2014 with Mt. Gox.
5502  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Life Inside a Bitcoin Mine: Interview with Genesis Mining’s Marco Streng on: November 02, 2015, 04:53:25 AM
I'll be 100% convinced after I see how long these lifetime contracts will last.
Pretty happy with my purchase though, especially with recent Bitcoin prices.
5503  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade with coins on: November 02, 2015, 04:45:32 AM
Poloniex is a good exchange to start with, they have solid community..
Agreed, Poloniex is also one of my favourite exchanges. Instant withdrawals, which is very nice.

And you can always just try trading some altcoins with your 5 mBTC, you're not going to make much but at least you'll be learning how to buy and sell, place limit orders etc.
5504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ransomware, the best thing that has happened to Bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 02:15:55 PM
I'm sorry but saying that Ransomware is the best thing that ever happened to Bitcoin is just inaccurate.
Ransomware is one of the more scummy ways to scam people and for that to be associated with Bitcoin can never be a good thing.
5505  Economy / Economics / Re: Forgoten Greece on: November 01, 2015, 02:10:56 PM
Any idea on how they are planning to tackle the wide spread tax evasion?
To me it seems like their current tax laws are a bureaucratic mess and highly inefficient.
5506  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best way for cashing in. on: October 31, 2015, 08:05:58 PM
I've been mining bitcoins for a while now, and I think it's time to pick some fruits of my labour.
But the site where I'm mining, doesn't do SEPA transfers to Dutch banks.
So what's the most convenient way to convert my bits in to cash? Of course with little as possible overhead.
If you're Dutch, you can convert Bitcoin to fiat easily through bitonic.nl or anycoin.eu

Bitonic even has a priority payment option, they use the same bank as your bank so the transfer is completed the same day.

Edit: Oh, I looked over this reply mentioning the same basically, but indeed for Dutch and Belgian people, Bitonic is the best option.

since you want to cash out to a dutch bank, i can assume that you are from the netherlands. why don't you use bitonic.nl to cash out. on working days you will have the money the same day in your bank account if you sell them in the morning.

5507  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house? on: October 31, 2015, 08:02:16 PM
Go for it before the bubble pops, I would say Smiley
Could be a great investment if you find a good deal!
5508  Economy / Economics / Re: What's your guess on the price of bitcoin for Jan 2016 and July 2016? on: October 28, 2015, 01:20:28 PM
I'm pretty sure we will see some price increase when the hype before halving starts.
I just hope prices will not increase too much, just to see them crash again after a while.
5509  Economy / Economics / Re: How to teach kids about Bitcoin? on: October 28, 2015, 01:14:02 PM
I always thought those Minecraft servers that incorporated Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency into their in-game economy were pretty neat.

One example is playMC:

https://www.playmc.com/bitcoins-playmc

Coindesk wrote an interesing article about the server:

5510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft is not accepting bitcoin anymore ? on: October 27, 2015, 11:16:35 AM
I read an article a while back about BitPay getting hacked and laying off a bunch of people. Part of the article was about them losing merchants too. I think the reason given was the inability of merchants to give refunds back to customers because the transaction is irreversible. The only way the merchant could give a refund was to wait for the transaction to clear then refund in fiat and pay any fees out of pocket. Maybe that's what happened to Microsoft.
Interesting, if this is true, I could see more merchants that stop accepting Bitcoin payments.
5511  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Video: Solar-powered Bitcoin Mining farm on: October 26, 2015, 06:30:37 AM
Cool but looks like a pretty small set-up, I wonder if he actually generates enough power to keep them running at night.
5512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BIG EVENT] BITCOIN IS NOW A LEGAL PAYMENT METHOD AND A CURRENCY IN THE EU !!!!! on: October 26, 2015, 06:13:55 AM
This has got the be the best news the Bitcoin community has received, this year at the least.
Though I had expected more news coverage, it does seem like nobody cares.

And I'm really curious to see the implications of this over the next couple of years.
5513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase? on: October 26, 2015, 06:08:33 AM
I'm holding some bitcoins, expecting a price increase in the long term.

Bit a big chunk I use for trading and I add some of my profits to my savings.
5514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A friendly warning: the SEC is all over these boards. Don't break any laws. on: October 26, 2015, 03:04:20 AM
Anything that prevents people from posting ponzi's here is positive.
5515  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Do You Think This BTC Lottery Idea Will Be A Success ? on: October 26, 2015, 02:54:30 AM
You should have posted this in Project Development I think.
But anyway, I don't think a project like this is really sustainable, I think it's difficult to get a userbase that's active enough.

People get tired of autosurf and I would guess even faster when there is no certain incentive involved, but only a possible reward if you're lucky.
5516  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investments on: October 25, 2015, 07:41:25 PM
What are the best investment opetions for bitcoins to be put into?
Please post here!

Well, my humble opinion, if you dont know were to put the coins, so hodl...  Let your coins in your wallet and come back a few years from now. They will be safe  Wink

They will either be worth:
least likely. >$1000.
OR they will be most likely worth: $10-$0 (NOTHING)

Why you are so pessimist?  Smiley
There is now a "crypto industry" growing, so the price must be stable and growing slowing along the next years.

I am technically optomist.
I want the bitcoin price to fall and rise again.
This will mean that Bitcoin will become more widely used as mre people will own Bitcoin!

I think the price will probably decrease to around $10 where everyone will have an equal amount of bitcoins.
Then the price will rise to $1000.
This will force more people to use bitcoin as it was intended for (a currency).
Price volatility will only attract investors and will make Bitcoin unsuitable to use as an actual currency.
5517  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why sell now? on: October 25, 2015, 03:00:17 AM
I'm still waiting to buy, petty sure we will see a drop soon.
Then buy some more right before the block reward halving.
5518  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: AnonWallet - Simple Anonymous Web Bitcoin Wallet on: October 24, 2015, 02:20:56 AM
I just visited the site, it's make me not interested Undecided sorry but your site is looks amateur, there are a lot bitcoin web wallet out there and they have a better interface and of course they trusted. sorry no offense, but you should improve a web interface, ect, ect.

That's totally understandable, thanks for the idea. I'll definitely have to work on the front end of the site. I'm a high school kid and I'm still learning about web development, so it might take a couple of days. I'm making this site more for fun than anything else.

By saying that, you just closed your business.

It's not intended to be a business, its just a site that I'm sharing. Not indented to make me any money.
you have to be careful what you bring here. even if you are honest but your site has bugs and people lose btc there, they will never forget, even come looking for you...

if you are just experimenting for fun etc. i suggest you put the code up and let people see how it works, if it is verifiable, and even they can help you fix any bugs or security weaknesses it might have that you may have missed.

the idea of the wallet sounds good, but something like it needs to be trusted for anyone to use it.

I agree, I will definitely post the code on GitHub. Thanks.
Yeah, great idea.
I would be interested to take a look at the code and report any bugs I might find.
5519  Economy / Economics / Re: Gandi accepts bitcoin payments on: October 23, 2015, 09:12:33 PM
Great news indeed, always positive to hear that another large company accepts Bitcoin!
But don't forget that Namecheap also accepts Bitcoin, they're also pretty popular.
5520  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC climbing in a slow stable climb on: October 22, 2015, 11:39:47 PM
I'm liking the slow and steady price increase.
At least we're not facing a bubble like back when Bitcoin was at around 1200 dollar.

I'd like to see it at around 350 dollars in a couple of months
