Oh wow, thanks for the merits mindrust! I am almost Legendary now! weeeeeeeee Tongue

And I didn't meant to make you discard nor go all in in real estate. I just say it is a very interesting investment, but you do need to do your homework first, as everything in life!

P.S.: Oh it looks like I also just got a good chunk from The Dude himself! Now that explains the HUGE leap forward in my merit count. Thanks dude!

Whoops, ended up sending you about 4 extra merits. I do read a bit of Spanish, it was good practice. Don't really get to use it too often. Anyway, congrats on ranking up!
5542  Economy / Reputation / Re: ChipMixer applicants on 2020w3 (19Jan2020) on: January 20, 2020, 09:55:05 AM
Wow, that's a heck of a lot of work you did there!

Turns out I'm the biggest merit earner in some pretty questionable important sections:

Politics & Society
ANNs( Alts)
Off-topic
Archival (tied for 1st)

 Cool

I don't even remember what I got merits for in Off-Topic. It must mostly be for combatting notbatman in the Flat Earth thread.

Update on the Peter Schiff User Error by Erik Vorhees:

Quote
Here's what happened: after debate in 2018, we went to dinner. Peter had never used bitcoin before (!) I helped him set up wallet on his phone (Edge or BRD?), told him to secure it if he ever held significant value on it, gave him $50.  He forgot pw, and never recorded phrase.  Embarrassed

Blockchain.com wallets don't get "corrupted". If he would have saved his backup seed or private key (we have a lot of options here) in lieu of the password, he would still have access to his BTC. Lucky for him, Blockchain.com reached out to him and are intervening to solve his problem, so of course his bitcoin isn't lost, and it never was.

Schiff is a money manager, and apparently also a moron.
5544  Economy / Reputation / Re: @PrimeNumber7 is an alt account of @Quickseller on: January 19, 2020, 04:55:12 PM
I was just wondering why this relative noob would care so much about this campaign, and why did they think they knew the forum rules so well?

I also couldn’t help but notice that exactly this form of argument has been thrown at me many times by Quickseller and others.  It is not evidence; and smart, meticulous people should not be punished for being smart and meticulous.

In my case, I was on-and-off casually lurking for years before I created an account; and before I started posting, I devoted quality time to reading old threads to find the lay of the land.  As a result, as of today, people tend to not even realize that I am still a relative n00b on the forum.  (Activity level gives a hint.)

Did PrimeNumber7 do similarly?  That is a sincere question, not a rhetorical expression of opinion.

Here's the thing: the forum "rules" aren't really rules at all, and you can't really develop an understanding of their interpretation and execution unless you have years of experience with the forum. Its not a matter of being smart and meticulous -- its a matter of being wise and experienced.

Regardless, PN7 (QS) doesn't know the rules as well as he thinks -- accounts will only be temp banned for message spamming if several other users report them for message spamming. Its not inaccurate to say that the forum operates in a "squeaky wheel getting the grease"-type fashion in that only if there is an overwhelming demand for something will it happen (and sometimes not even then).

Double-regardless, PN7 is Quickseller by way of evidence not necessarily yet introduced publicly on the forum. So to answer your question, no, PN7 did not do so similarly.

Not a shit post, but touching. Applicant in the ChipMixer sig campaign thread.

...
My dream signature campaign since I was a newbie here. even I know that I have no chance of winning some spot, I can say that I was one of the candidates.

5546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [IEO] coming soon on Cryptoknowmics   on: January 19, 2020, 01:03:00 PM

Can you please clarify if your project tends to keep your ICO going until the hardcap is reached?

They promised the listing in Q2, right after IEO. How the listing could happen if the ICO continues after that?

Because that's what it says on the website. Here, take another look:

Its a highly unethical practice, but scammers don't have much ethics; that's why they are scammers.

Running an ICO while listed on an exchange is probably even worse than buying Bitcointalk accounts in bulk and using them to spam the forum for scammers.

Surely the team could correct my misunderstanding of this issue, if there was one (a team or a misunderstanding, have your pick).

Fuck the cunts who stand in the wrong spot for the subway queue.  Those painted lines are there for a reason.

LOL. I'm guessing you were the cunt in this particular scenario.

Don’t drink the highballs in 7-11

Are you allowed to drink in the store there? You are here. They even have tables where you can sit down and get wasted, pick a fight with your girlfriend, and vomit on the floor. All while somebody is trying to pour a slurpee six inches away from you.

Don’t walk through the red curtain

You have to pay extra for that.
5548  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 19, 2020, 10:35:33 AM
There is only one reason why the changes BSV is undergoing are bringing it closer to Satoshi's "original protocol". CSW will pay Kleiman Estate in BSV claiming these are kind of bitcoins he and Dave Kleiman mined using Satoshi's original protocol.

An even better conspiracy theory I heard on Twitter is that Craig is positioning himself to convince the BSV miner crowd to fork over control of all Satoshi-mined coins to himself. I mean, hey, he's Satoshi to them after all, so why wouldn't they?
5549  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 19, 2020, 10:01:43 AM
A Corrolla is better than a T in every discernible measurable dimension, save nostalgia,

Correct. BSV is better than 0.10. Its a far, far more advanced, different model of Bitcoin.

and;
BTC is not measurably better than bitcoin protocol 1.0 in any discernible dimension.

You're now taking this argument into semantic territory, but no matter how you slice it, Bitcoin is better off because of the various BIPs that have been implemented through the years, several of which allow Bitcoin to do things better now than it could then. You probably only have problems with more recent ones guiding SegWit implementation, but that's a different debate. Fact is, several Standard Track BIPs have not only made changes to the protocol but improved upon it as well. Most of these are currently found in BSV.

Quote
There is no conflation: BSV is Craig.

Hmm. Most four year olds can tell the difference between a cryptocurrency and a person. Pity you cannot.

You're just playing dumb again in lieu of having an actual counterargument. I'm saying BSV's recent successes are due to Craig being an excellent con artist. You're saying they are due to its superior tech, which is false. The price moves because of Craig's dramatics, not because there is anything suddenly happening with BSV itself.
5550  Economy / Reputation / Re: Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III (2020 Q1) on: January 19, 2020, 09:42:34 AM
It just doesn't make sense that he would only copy the Twitter URL for the account but then post tweets under a different account, unless it was a mistake.
In some cases, accounts are connected Alt, placing some evidence that can be retrieved when they are connected.
For example: Trelegram, Twitter, Facebook, ETH and BTC addresses.

In other cases, Alt uses twitter, facebook one, and a different ETH address, and vice versa ETH is the same as twitter, different facebook.
With the reason that users do not create many Twitter accounts because the requirements to participate in prizes are determined, one condition is the amount of followers.

OK, but in this instance they are using 2 different sets of Twitter posts -- not the same set. DemLom also copied the other account's user name and Twitter handle in both instances. If they had different account names but posted the same tweet URLs, then yes, I would say they are alts, but they are posting different sets of Twitter posts (DemLom always from his correct "NastiaLS" handle).

In another discovery, when seen the address used by @DemLom, it is clear.

Yes it looks like p3ppymon and DemLom are alts, but I believe entemeister isn't.

why does this DemLom is using same ETH because if he uses that address then all the bounty thing he does will surely be sent to the address entemeister is using, that's my deduction.

Yes, surely its a costly mistake. Even though I know most bounty hunters got cheated out of their reward for that particular project, and it was a scam ICO anyway.
5551  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 19, 2020, 09:04:17 AM
Sorry, but...
stupid analogy is stupid.

It would be one thing if BTC's 'innovations' were demonstrably, measurably better. However, even at this late date (two years?), how much value is being transacted on the 'improved' LN?

You're saying my analogy is stupid because LN isn't perfect yet? Were the first iterations of the electric car demonstrably, measurably better than regular cars? What's perhaps stupider is to decide a technology is a failure because it hasn't yet been perfected. Just like Bitcoin 0.1 wasn't perfect and the protocol has undergone several changes to fix dozens of problems since. Even after 10 years, its still not perfect.

Regardless, I'm not talking just about LN, I'm talking about all the changes that have taken place since Bitcoin 0.10 was first launched, the one that Craig says his Toyota Corolla is emulating.

Again with the conflation of Craig and BSV.

So far, the things he has been saying -- with regards to the BSV protocol itself -- is to bring it into further congruence with the initial satoshi protocol. Accordingly, all the other mutterings are but peripheral and irrelevant to the chain itself.

One does not need to believe any Craig <> prophet status in order to see the benefit of the direction of the BSV protocol.

There is no conflation: BSV is Craig. Did BSV make its recent moves because people suddenly saw "the benefit of the direction of the BSV protocol"? No. BSV moves are always centered around Craig's scammy antics. Its a con game not much different than that played by those who profited during the rise of Bitconnect. If you wish to involve yourself in it, obviously nobody can stop you. Let's just not pretend BSV's recent relative successes are about the tech.

Holy shit, that was fast!  Cheesy

You can watch the whole fight here, all 45 seconds of it:

The first big shot happened so fast that the camera hadn't even zoomed in all the way yet. Wonder how much tickets cost to that fight  Cheesy
5553  Economy / Reputation / Re: Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III (2019 Q4) on: January 19, 2020, 05:24:03 AM
Hello, this is quite surprising to me. The thing is that I don't have any relation with the user Demlom. I have read his posts and the only thing I can say is that is not my responsability that someone does not know how to use an internet forum. I don't know what he was trying to do, maybe he copied my post to write his account details and he forgot to do it, I don't know, but that is not my fault and I can't do anything about it. The only thing I know is that my account and that one have no relation at all, so this case is a false positive because of someone who doesn't know to use an internet forum maybe because he doesn't even know to tie his shoes.

Perhaps that is true - we can only sit back and see if the other UID does it again.

There's actually a few things you can do, like checking if the guy has a history of copying other peoples' info, which he does.

You can see that DemLom copied entemeister's Twitter account page but then put links to his own tweets in the <list of tweets/retweets>.

@dkbit98 could you review this and tell me if I'm missing something here? It just doesn't make sense that he would only copy the Twitter URL for the account but then post tweets under a different account, unless it was a mistake.
5554  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM ALERT: Cryptoknowmics Token Sale on: January 18, 2020, 04:54:29 PM
The OP has been updated to list 833 known Vitor Services paid shills fake accounts and sock-puppets for hire fake accounts

Jeez, that's diligent counting on your part. I can't believe they have this many accounts!

The weird thing is most (if not all) of them were created anywhere from months to years ago. I wonder if they bought them all as a package from somebody. Hopefully they run out at the 1,000 mark!

I decided to open a flag on them since the OP of their thread just flat out avoided my questions about their infinite ICO, choosing instead to answer questions of the spammers he hired to post in his thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=1254

Maybe that will get their attention, but I somehow doubt it.
5555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conor McGregor vs. Donald Cerrone [JAN 2020] Discussion on: January 18, 2020, 03:11:49 PM
Dana White already gave Conor a title shot after more than a year when he lost to Mayweather in that boxing match fiasco.

I'm not sure I would call it a "fiasco" necessarily -- McGregor lasted longer than he was supposed to, even if it was just by 1 round. I remember because I bet on the "over" for that one. Its for sure that McGregor never really stood a chance, but it was fun to watch nevertheless.
5556  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] Surely it's high-time for UID "Bitcoin SV" to be nuked? on: January 18, 2020, 11:29:29 AM
I voted warn then ban, because you might as well warn first knowing it will likely be ignored and then user can be banned with good reasoning.
Most people voted nuke I see, which I find a bit aggressive and unnecessary, but not against this if clearly a near majority would want this option.

Here's the thing: he has 50 accounts and so far at least a dozen of them have been banned. So, that should be instant grounds for banning, though I admit the proof isn't as spelled out as it could be.

Regardless, he's been temp banned, likely for abuse of the trust system. Hopefully its for a long time. I know he can just keep coming back under different accounts (and he has been), but banning his main accounts has to at least slow him down a bit.

5558  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Ponzi Scheme] Quantum Hedge Fund (QHF) - Warning!!! on: January 18, 2020, 09:10:31 AM
Looks pretty scummy to me.

Can't find anything about the CEO Jan Janssen (other than he looks like a douche in his YouTube video for QuantumFund). However, a few of his "Fund Advisors" are pretty well-known scam perpetrators.

Bruce Porter - advisor for scam ICO Naked Dollars Coin, has a reputation of being a sleazebag in the crypto community, most recently got caught trying to sell tickets for a free event for $50 a pop.

Reuben Godfrey - advisor for scam ICO Keplertek (among many others) -- he seems to specialize in advising ICO scammers.

Mohamed Shoieb & Thomas Enechi - advisors for the Endo Protocol ICO, which raised $5 million and then vanished off the face of the earth (website is gone).

Looks like with the QuantumFund project they are aiming for a more sophisticated scam, integrating their TradeView account and all, but at the end of the day I think chances are high this is just another Ponzi scheme masking as a legit "trading robot"-based fund.

I would not trust this project to do what it says its going to do based on who the team is comprised of.

Edit:

Yep, definitely a Ponzi. From one of their Facebook promotions:
