5561  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Python3 CPU mining on: June 24, 2022, 06:54:24 PM
I wish to write a CPU Bitcoin mining program in pure python3. At my github page I have posted what I have so far.

https://github.com/ORP967/BTC_RPC_Mining

I'm able to connect to my RPC and get the getblocktemplate information. I just don't know where to go from there. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

I tried implementing pyminer.py and pyminer3.py but they both use the old getwork RPC API.

Here is the website for the complete RPC API reference.
https://developer.bitcoin.org/reference/rpc/index.html

Can you tell us a little more about the stated goal of your project?  I like the idea, however impractical, but wonder if there's a use for such a thing beyond attempting the daunting task of mining a Bitcoin block with a CPU.  Maybe you're planning to run this in the background of a website and utilize viewer hardware to mine some BTC?  Is your goal to have this be pooled mining, or solo mining?  Given the long odds of CPU mining a Bitcoin block, I assume that you have some other purpose for this outside of mining Bitcoin on your CPU.  Given it's near impossibility, I wonder if you're aware of the odds and doing this for some other reason.
5562  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Juneteenth....WHY? on: June 24, 2022, 06:49:25 PM
We have black history MONTH in February an entire monthe then we have Martin luther King day and Now juneteenth???

WHY? Why is so much time dedicated as a holiday to blacks? I'm by far no racist by why in hell is this?

Happy Fathers day BTW fuck Juneteenth.

P.S. No other minorites in the U.S. Get a whole MONTH and then 2 other holidays. Where is Italian,Asian,Spanish,Irish,Polish etc etc Holidays.   GET BENT

Everyone else gets the Fourth of July...

The 4th of July is for all Americans, not just "everyone else" like you say...  Dumb argument...

My biggest problem with Juneteenth is that it feels like an ego boost to the slaveowners more than celebrating freedom of slaves.  They should celebrate the day they became free, not the day the slave owners decided to let them know.  Feels wrong to me...  I couldn't imagine fighting for my freedom, winning it, and then later on my captives decide to let me be truly free, so I celebrate the day they let me be free...  No.  Celebrate the day you took that shit, not the day they gave it to you.
5563  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: June 24, 2022, 05:54:26 PM
Problem is now resolved. If anyone have problem with session please contact us by email.

Any chance you want to share what the problem was that has now been resolved?  Was it the result of an outside attacker, an in-house mistake, or the result of regulatory action?  I think given the nature of the business and the crackdowns in the crypto industry, it could be helpful to share details with your users and for others in the field to be aware of to help them avoid similar circumstances in the future for their own services.
5564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Phil Mickelson Opens Up About Losing MILLIONS From Gambling on: June 24, 2022, 05:50:10 PM
Super competitive people like Phil Mickelson and Michael Jordan seem to have a problem when it comes to gambling.  It's like their mind can't comprehend not being able to win at something, so they convince themselves they can win, even though the odds are stacked against them.  I'm sure a lot of the time having huge pockets helps them keep going until they get ahead, until that stops working.  Then they find themselves in a massive hole with no way out.  Luckily, these athletes have a ton of money so they can afford the loss, but most people in this position and with this belief they can win end up losing everything.  I'm glad these athletes are speaking out, because I'm sure they'd all be a lot better off if they never wagered a dime.
5565  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CoinBase worse case on: June 24, 2022, 05:40:48 PM
So much for Coinbase acting like an off chain payments hub.  This is going to destroy their chances at getting crypto adoption on their platform and likely give exchanges primarily outside of the US like Binance a step ahead in the race for market share.

As you start to see how regulation is going to rip Coinbase apart and crater their market cap, it's no surprise that their CEO went out and bought a ridiculous house while cashing out hundreds of millions of dollars...  They know their business has peaked and now has an uphill battle in front of it.
5566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 24, 2022, 02:35:34 AM
Kemba Walker was just traded to the Detroit Pistons. Starting to look like they’re trying to form a legitimate contender. DeAndre Ayton is also rumored to be signing with them this off-season. They could have a playoff team on their hands next year. First time Detroit has been a worthy adversary in a while. Their young guy Kade looks like he’s got a chance for a bright future.  So does their team if they keep grabbing young talent.

It's crazy how much dinosaur stuff is out there right now.  I feel like it's not just marketing in the traditional sense but even video games and food places are on this dino push.  Here I am having not even seen the new Jurassic Park yet.  It really goes to show how iconic that movie series has been that it has such a wave that follows it throughout pop culture.  As this is the last of the Jurassic Park series, one has to wonder if we'll be seeing less dinosaurs in advertising going forward.
5568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin FUD is for losers. BE A WINNER. Stay Cool- Be Positive =D on: June 23, 2022, 10:42:30 PM
Mt. gox?

Still trying to get my money back from mtgox.  Many others are as well.  If there were a reason to be pessimistic about the Bitcoin price, it would be that coming event.  When mtgox victims are eventually given the 200,000+ BTC sitting around waiting for them, I suspect it will lead to a massive selloff of BTC on the market.  This will likely be a short term event, but anyone even considering being overly bullish with leverage right now should be warned that they will likely be liquidated in the coming months.
5569  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Trump run again...and win?? on: June 23, 2022, 10:40:08 PM
I don't really understand this argument. Trump ordered Covid lockdowns, and this is no problem? But Biden over-reacted to Covid and shut down the economy, which is terrible?

Trump was saying things like, "We can't let the cure be worse than the problem itself."

Biden was saying things like, "People will die, who have never died before."

Trump was being sued for mocking it and calling it the "China Virus."

Biden was sued by states for forcing his mandates on them.

Do you understand the argument yet?  Trump's administration was politically forced into taking action while Biden embraced the FUD of the pandemic and tried to force it on the rest of us.
Trump wasn't the one trying to get half the country fired for not taking a vaccine...  It's pretty cut and dry for you to miss so badly with your take.
5570  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance-US charge zero fee on Bitcoin usdt trading on: June 23, 2022, 10:32:26 PM
Binance seems to be marketing hard right now to new users.  I think they're trying to gain a ton of market share during this downcycle while other exchanges are having some troubles.  Between this, their social media marketing, and now a deal with Cristiano Ronaldo to bring in soccer fans...  It seems like Binance isn't too worried about their financial position at the moment and is capitalizing on the opportunity of a down market to grow their userbase.  Not a bad plan and should help take some of the sting out of the market as they bring in new entrants.
5571  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: June 23, 2022, 05:24:00 PM
The Cybertruck design is now "locked in" according to Elon Musk.  This comment accompanied an updated timeline from Elon with production now set to begin in mid-2023.  This means 1 year from now these beauties should be rolling off the production line and ready to go to their new homes.  When exactly we'll find out the options and how payment will be made, as well as if we can update to the newer 4-motor option is still a mystery.  For now though, we should be glad that the Cybertruck has an official blueprint and has passed the design phase.  Maybe 2 years from now I'll be able to drive one.  Smiley

5572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe it is to invest in cryptocurrency on: June 23, 2022, 05:13:53 PM
If you ask around about how safe investing in cryptocurrency is, you will most likely come across one statement quite frequently.

"Only invest what you can afford to lose."

That is because cryptocurrency is an extremely speculative investment.  You might make 10x on your investment here, or you might watch it fall 85%.  Those are the risks.  If losing 85% of your invested money would be life changing for you, then you probably shouldn't do it.  Manage your risk tolerance, only invest what you can afford to lose, and stay away from fly by night cryptos making big promises.  The test of time is a great evaluator of crypto investments.  Stability while gaining adoption being what you should look for.
5573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Age of bitcoiners on: June 23, 2022, 05:06:38 PM
Nobody under the age of 18 in here?  I sort of doubt that.  Given a majority of the responses and ridiculous opinions here, I assumed that a majority of users were in the 15-17 range.  Reading some of my trust feedbacks from trolls, I honestly doubt these people are adults.  Look at this feedback from owlcatz:

Sorry, your cunty feedback is rubbish and mine is the truth. Do your trust network a favor and add this cunt ~ognasty to your trust settings to avoid this cunt on bitcointalk.

You can't convince me that a grown adult male actually wrote that about me in good faith after more than a decade of helping users here in various ways.  I think it's far more likely that it's a child lashing out at those he views as authority in an attempt to elevate himself somehow (a.k.a. showing off for the other trolls).  This just isn't adult behavior.  At least not someone with an IQ above 100.
5574  Economy / Goods / Re: Buy furniture with Bitcoin on: June 23, 2022, 04:43:17 PM
Furniture prices may vary between countries, but I don't remember seeing a sofa for $5000, the average price here is between $500 and $3,000.
The design of the website looks like a template with pictures on it
In general, it is good to have options like PayPal because scammers often avoid them but they need a lot to gain trust

I've been doing some couch shopping lately.  I'm actually surprised at the sticker shock.  I think I paid $2,000 for my couches/tables/lamps last time I was shopping for living room furniture.  Recently I've seen couches by themselves for up to $8,000.  It seems impossible to find anything decent for under $3,000.  Silly me thought I'd be able to walk out with a nice couch for under $2,000, but I don't think that's possible anymore.  I'm starting to feel like an old man yelling at clouds with this Biden inflation.  I can't even imagine what things will be like in another 10-20 years.  Retirement is going to be a fairytale.
5575  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto Crowdfunding Sites on: June 23, 2022, 04:40:32 PM
Hey Guys anyone knows good Crypto Crowdfunding Sites or normal Crowdfunding Sites?

The nature of crypto makes it difficult to raise funds.  In the past, many people have taking investments for everything you can think of.  Unfortunately, 99.9% of the time they turn out to be scams that run away with the money.  It happened so frequently that the smart contract industry was born on Ethereum to counter this phenomenon.  In fact, to my knowledge there is only one organization still operating from back in the pre-ICO Bitcoin investment days on the GLBSE.  As rare as a needle in a haystack, and unlikely to ever be duplicated at the community level. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=86854.0

I almost hit the target, 70x:

~

I always avoided these types of gambling games, but I must admit that after seeing them on the Stevewilldoit youtube channel, it does look fun.  Some of those jackpots are massive.  Although I'm sure we don't see all the losses.  Smiley  I can see how exciting it must be to get a bunch of free spins and watch massive multipliers pop up.  Not sure I've seen enough to be lured in quite yet, but maybe one of these days I'll try my luck and see if I can get one of these massive spins as well.

Can you please provide a link for the Blue Samurai game on the Stevewilldoit? I couldn't find it on both channels, Stevewilldoit and SteveWillDoIt Two. Maybe it has something to do with my location, or I'm looking at the wrong places.

I don't know if he specifically has a Blue Samurai video, although it wouldn't surprise me.  He does have a lot of videos showing off the different slots, and he's making more almost daily recently it seems like.  As someone not familiar with these types of slots, they all look pretty much the same to me.  I must say that it is a bit shocking to see someone gamble without six figure buys like it's nothing.  He's seems completely disconnected with the amounts of money he's wagering.  I saw him win $400,000+ in a recent video yesterday.  I couldn't imagine...
5577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2022, 04:34:47 PM
Who's got a good insight about the upcoming NBA draft? For the names of the draft prospects, here they are.
There are also mock drafts that were done by various sources and sports media. What do you think about the common picks and your thoughts about this event?

I honestly have no idea who any of these kids are.  College being shut down in recent years because of covid made me lose all interest in watching or even keeping track of who the players are.  I probably won't even watch the draft as a result.  Usually there's all sorts of highlight reels from these players, but I haven't seen any...  I'm more interested in the trades that will be done around the draft as players I've heard of will undoubtedly be moved in the near future.

The big news of the moment seems to be the Lakers and Hornets closing in on a deal for Russell Westbrook.  I have no idea how that situation will shake out.
5578  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Trump run again...and win?? on: June 23, 2022, 04:17:55 PM
Most likely in 2024 if Trump intends to run again as a presidential candidate he will be elected. Because even though in the Trump administration many absurd things have happened, they are not as bad as in the Biden administration. The Biden administration was terrible and I have never seen an American president this bad in my life.

Indeed.  Biden took America from being energy independent to begging oil producers to increase production as we drain our reserves.  He took a flourishing economy and ran it into the ground with high inflation while Fed Governors resign their positions as a result of him not adhering to their warnings.  He overreacted to the flu, shutting down the economy and decimating small businesses.  There's no doubt he's the worst president of my lifetime, and he's got to already be top 5 worst presidents ever, maybe top 2.

Will Trump run again?  Probably.  I don't think it matters too much who runs at this point though.  You'd have to be a braindead idiot to vote Democrat in any election for quite some time after this.  I just hope the country can survive the next two years so we can get someone in there to start fixing the mess that's being created.
5579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no future as a payments network, says FTX chief on: June 23, 2022, 03:53:01 PM
I assume that FTX plans to implement some sort of payments program similar to Coinbase to establish themselves as a “payment network” for Bitcoin, so it doesn’t surprise me that he would take that stance. I’m sure he also has plenty of developers aware of the drawbacks of using Bitcoin as a payment network with a substantially higher amount of users. I don’t think this is as controversial a statement as some might think and is instead to be expected from someone in his position.
5580  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin Watches on: June 22, 2022, 02:45:11 PM
Jacob and Co. came out with a new mechanical / moving bitcoin watch. This company is known for their very intricate watches with moving parts. Links and pictures can be found below. Probably my favorite bitcoin watch so far, though there’s a lot of cool watches out there as can be seen here in this list.

Wow...  That's an amazing watch.  Between that and the Hodlsmith watches, I really wish I wore a watch so I could consider buying one of them.  You've got to contact the holdsmith maker in order to even discuss a quote, so I have no idea how much they would actually cost, but if you're a watch guy I guess it doesn't matter, as I know they can get very expensive.

I love the sun/moon/rocket in the watch quoted above.  Even the GPU fan...  You can tell that was commissioned by someone who's been in the game a while.  I love it.  Wish it was affordable, but looking at it I know I don't even have to ask the price to know it's out of my balllpark.
