Bitcoin use to be worth much less its still worth way more then most other currencies what other currency is worth $200 per 1 of them. None. Good try though Bitcoin will continue to be used and even if it was at 1:1 ratio with dollar it would still beat out most other currencies in the whole entire world.
but if bitcoin rate back to 1:1 ratio with dollar it means Game Over for bitcoin world If your 'game' is to 'get rich quick' then yes, it would be a 'game over' for you, but not necessarily for bitcoin as a project.

All the news about this case are very vague and misleading. Apparently the guy didn't get sentenced for selling bitcoins but for illegal money transmitting. As explained by seriouscoin in other thread: Stupid fcking media at its best. Spreading BS titles and intentionally mislead general public about the "news"
There is no " involvement in an underground Bitcoin exchange selling the digital currency to users of the black market website Silk Road." charge. The charge is "unlicensed Money transmitter"
Basically he sold and bought BTC on behalf of his client. The key here is "behalf of someone else, ie. brokerage ". He did not buy or sell bitcoins for himself.
Another charge was tax offense related which often called "money laundering". Funny word for not paying the government their shares
All that add up to his sentence.

Guys on C-CEX were saying that it was a 300 gb DDOS attack. Don't know for sure.
Nope, just RAID array failure. DDOS wouldn't cause data loss.

i want to ask about legal or illegal if the Ops buy an original copy then he make online streaming website with that copy it is legal or illegal ?
It's illegal. Standard end-user agreement only allows the private (home) use. There's usually some sort of disclaimer somewhere, either on the box or at the beginning of the movie. To legally re-distribute protected content (or make it publicly available) he would need to enter into separate agreement with whoever holds the rights (or obtain a licence).

Robert Faiella, 55, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff in Manhattan after pleading guilty to operating an unlicensed money transmitting business. OK, I'm missing something here. At that time bitcoin was considered digital asset (or better yet, its legal status wasn't clear). The guy was selling the asset on Shrem's platform (which was registered as legal business), so how is that making him a "money transmitter"? How did he brake the law (apart from not paying taxes on gains)? How's selling something on ebay (including bitcoin) different than selling on bitinstant? In the U.S. you can not have a business that moves BTC for dollars without a Money Transmitter License. You would be operating a Money Service Business. This is why bitcoin ATMs have not caught on here. The licensees are state by state and can cost as much as 25 million dollars for one state. If you find this law unfair, then call your elected officials. They are the only people who can change this. But was it clear at the time SR was operating? If there was no official guidance from authorities on how to treat bitcoin, the guy had every right to sell it just as any other asset (since it wasn't officially recognised as currency or financial instrument). Actually at what point do you need MT license for selling BTC? Is there any trading threshold? Can you legally sell BTC1 for cash, as one-time sell, not a business activity? Edit: Now, this would make sense: Stupid fcking media at its best. Spreading BS titles and intentionally mislead general public about the "news"

Dean, you never got back to me on this: ... Dean, is there any way to send a tip to a player who is not online?
Seems the only way to tip is to click on a name in chat, or in 'players online' tab. When I click player on my affs list all I get is his stats. Would be great to have tip option there, it could be very useful for referral promos etc.
It would also be great if you could throw in a few simple ad banners that people could use for promos. Something like FortuneJack did. Few banners of most popular sizes will do.

No legal movie are free. ...
Not quite true, here are some examples: http://blogs.canoe.ca/parker/news/100-movies-in-the-public-domain/How about creating a website with free legal movies? To stream or download. Obviously you won't have any of the biggest/newest productions, but with the right promotion and SEO you could build a 100% legit source of income (from ads/affiliate programs etc). I'm not aware of any website that would offer that.

Thanks for the suggestion, I checked out that story on coindesk but it seems not to be open to the public yet. I could be wrong, I'll check it out in more detail It's pretty fresh project, article is from yesterday and according to it the beta version is available for download. Could be worth a try. Nothing to lose.

And how's that bitcoin related again?
Wrong forum?

I'm considering signing up, was doing some research and apart from the spam issues (see trust rating of askcoin2) I came across this: I transferred some BlackCoins to askcoin.net because the market history showed some profitable trades. My asking price was the lowest, and they sat there all day yesterday. There were trades both below AND above my ask, yet when I checked the Top Sell Orders and Top Buy Orders throughout the day (every hour or so) there were no changes to them. Seems fishy, like maybe the site owner is putting in phony history info to get folks to make deposits. Am I missing something?
Care to address this issue?

For those who struggle with metric system, how do you feel about the idea of bitPound (= BTC0.453592) and bitOunce (0.0625 of bitPound) Better?

I already started and have about 10 new released movies. Just ask people opinion. If have good respond from this forum, I can make announcement here and do some giveaways
So how would that work? If I want to watch 'Rambo 7' or whatever, I need to request that and wait (how long?) till admin finds the proper link (if ever)? I've seen a few sites of that sort, but they would just upload/provide links to any new movie they could find and let people choose from whatever was available. If you wanted to watch newest releases in good quality without annoying ads, you had to pay for premium account etc. But since it's not quite legal, all such sites have a short life, and they're being closed one by one. Be very careful with that kind of activity.
