Here's another story reporting a similar problem: - http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=88121.msg990810#msg990810 And this exact scenario was the basis for this post: Specifically, here is the challenge. Consider the scenario that your bank is no better than RBS and for the next seven days (at least) you and a good third of everyone around you will be denied access to your bank account — no checking, no ATM, no debit card, no online bill pay, and no wire transfers. Except for this scenario you happen to be exceptionally prescient and know that you have a few hours before this actually happens.
Do you, at this very moment, have several thousands of dollars of “available funds” at your bank? Does your bank serve requests for larger cash withdrawals or will they take the opportunity to educate you on some policy that they have instituted where even a $2,500 USD withdrawal request will not be honored in full?
Do you know for sure? Have you ever tried?

Nah-hah... screw that. Let them start accepting Bitcoin. All it takes is the slightest bit of spine. I for one would much rather donate my money to someone willing to accept BTC than to someone not willing.
Seriously, they aren't saying they don't know how, or that they don't see the return for the effort, or any other reason that might have a tinge of logic behind it, ... they are saying they don't want Bitcoin. [And, by saying that, they are saying they don't want to promote Bitcoin or the idea that Bitcoin works as a payment system for donations.] They are playing politics is all it is.

Are there any cell phone plans out there where you can pay with Bitcoins?
If not, would anyone be interested in such a plan?

For those waiting on MP; I am fulfilling the orders now. I was delayed because all the local 7-11 pulled MoneyPaks from their stores. Not sure if it is a contract dispute or what. They had no cards on the shelves at the first 7-11 so I thought they had just sold out. The second 7-11 had cards but they wouldn't ring up and then one cashiers said to the other "I told you we were suppose to take all the greendots down".
I wonder if 7-11 will only be doing Netspend refills now ... for refilling PayPal prepaid cards, for instance. - https://www.thepaypalblog.com/2012/06/the-paypal-prepaid-mastercard-now-available-at-a-7-eleven-near-you-3/

I was wondering what's the best/easiest way to convert USD to BTC?
Depends on a number of factors. Where are you (country) ... urban or rural? How much are you looking to buy? What's more important, price or how fast before you can get the BTCs? Is privacy a factor? Most options are listed here: - http://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Buying_bitcoins

Are you trying to withdraw and then get the error message: "Your authentication code is incorrect, please try again"?
Yes Ok, hmm ... and you don't remember setting it up. So ..., that probably means you signed up back when GLBSE had a bug and was automatically marking accounts with multifactor. I think e-mail to GBLSE ( support@glbse.com ) is the only way to get multifactor removed (without already having scanned your QR code into Google Authenticator).

Is your problem logging in or withdrawing?
As far as two factor auth, when you set it up in GLBSE, then from your mobile you scan a QR code that contains a secret. The Google Authenticator app will use that secret in the future.
At a later point in time, you will be asked for an auth code. That auth code changes periodically, like once a minute. Google Authenticator is an app that creates these codes, based on that secret that you scanned earlier.
This is the first time I have ever tried to withdraw. It tells me I have 2 factor thing set up, but I didn't do anything like that when I set up my account. Please try to be a little more specific. Are you trying to withdraw and then get the error message: "Your authentication code is incorrect, please try again"?
