561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is gambling fix your life? or wreck your life? on: December 24, 2015, 04:58:34 PM
gambling really hasn't affected my life much. i only gamble rarely, maybe like once or twice a week just for fun. gambling helps when im bored lol.

i mainly only gamble on betcoin cuz they have a alot of stuff to gamble on to keep you entertained. i havent lost that much with gambling so it hasnt really had a bad impact on me.
562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: December 24, 2015, 04:55:03 PM
I think the lack of acknowledgement about bitcoin, most of them answer they are afraid of the wallet security is not secured enough and then because bitcoin still through process of adaptian so untill now not many stores accept bitcoin, so they feel kind of useless collecting bitcoin but cant spend on what they want
i agree, when i first heard about bitcoin i didnt get into it because i wasnt feeling secure about buying bitcoins, the whole address stuff can be a bit overwhelming to a new person, but over time it does get easier to trust.
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with your idle coins? on: December 22, 2015, 02:53:55 AM
I have some coins idling around in my wallet but I cannot bear to put it in hyip or risk it. But it is a waste to let it idle around. Yes. I have coins in some "lower risk" hyips to generate some interest which I'm prepared to write off. I also have some coins converted to hashing power in hashnest and BW.com but it has to be monitored else you will suffer a loss instead.  Grin

Unlike fiat currencies, I cannot park these coins into banks backed by governmental institutions. I put my fiat currencies in banks or blue chips but I cannot do it with cryptos.

So, what do you do with your idle coins? Let it sit around?
pretty much all of my coins are idle cins right now, i just store 90% of them in my paper wallet, and the rest is chilling in my hot wallet address. i only spend the coins when i find something really good to buy.
564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do people around you think about Bitcoin ? on: December 20, 2015, 05:51:39 PM
my friends think its a currency mainly used for bad things lol. they don't see how its the perfect currency for the average person.

also they don't buy into it because its pretty hard to buy, all the verification that needs to be done scares them.
565  Economy / Speculation / Re: Beginning of the trend reversal on: December 20, 2015, 05:49:10 PM
Today on the 20th of December the trend is reversing.
The bitcoin price is coming back down from its $450-$500 peak.
eh if the price drops below 400, i reckon alot of people will start dumping their coins and itll just decrease even faster.  cant imagine it going too low though, people who believe in btc would just buy more and more.
566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did you buy on bitcoin black Friday? on: December 20, 2015, 05:46:56 PM
honestly i didnt buy anything. i just coudn't find many places that had black friday sales and also accepted bitcoins, and the ones that did didnt really really have a variety of products. oh and the bitcoinblackfriday site turned out to be a scam. i hope more merchants decide to adopt bitcoin for next years black friday.
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Party 2016 on: December 20, 2015, 02:20:37 AM
I'm surely will keep staring at my screen, and seeing the price rising  Grin
lol ill be doing this, and if the price doesnt rise as much as expected i might even pitch in and buy some coins lol. can't wait for the halfing.  Cheesy
568  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your opinions needed. How sustainable is BTC mining longterm? on: December 20, 2015, 02:19:17 AM
I'm writing a paper on bitcoin mining (and cloud hashing services), and I'm wondering what your opinions are on its sustainability longterm considering different factors like increasing electricity costs (it has been going up in fiat value), price volatility (especially at times of low prices), competition (miners out doing other miners hashing power) and the halving of miners' reward

Do you think it will be sustainable for decades to come?
i think itll last because once the block reward is insignificant, the fees for transactions will be enough to keep mining profitable for the miners.
569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what happens to Bitcoin if internet goes down? on: December 19, 2015, 04:25:54 AM
given the cayos happening in the world i wouldn't be surprised of nuclear war and in this case i would expect internet disruption question is what happens to Bitcoin if internet goes down?

home internet and mobile internet goes down

do not mean trade bitcoin to buy/sell i mean using it as a way of payment say you wanted to send money to someone abroad for family far away
if the web went down there would be no blockchain and bitcoin as a currency just woudnlt be able to function but the odds of that happening are really really low.
570  Economy / Speculation / Re: If the US dollar crashed, would it affect bitcoin in any way? on: December 19, 2015, 04:12:32 AM
if the us economy cripples , sure there will be a increase interest in bitcoin for sure ,it wont affect bitcoin in a negative way ,its a good thing for bitcoin, it will blow the charts off for sure. people will be looking for a way to invest either in gold silver and bitcoin .
i agree, people will turn to a new currency to store their money in and everyone buying bitcoin will result in an increase of value.
571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: December 16, 2015, 10:22:58 PM
18 pages and counting and you are still debating how Western Union should not exist. It exist because it provides a service that Bitcoin can't. Cash in a window, few questions asked, that's it. Poor, uneducated people will use that for centuries. And there are a lot of them.

Go do your math and establish a local office/exchange with Bitcoins and see how it goes after fees and price volatility.
imo the only thing western union has over bitcoin is the prevention of price volatility. thats a huge reason why people choose not to use bitcoin.
572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Video game gambling on: December 16, 2015, 10:20:53 PM
Hey bitcointalk!.

is there any video game with gamble ? ex: dota , LoL ?? you playing and if you win you get x2 or x1.9 of bet.  Huh

do not looking for bookmaker or team-bet sites.

573  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC going up for 500$ again ? ::) on: December 16, 2015, 10:18:07 PM
idk its pretty close as it seems. its currently hovering around 460 so going up 40 bucks in value in a matter of 14 days isnt really hard. but hey if everyone could predict the price then everyone could make money, thats just not possible.
574  Economy / Speculation / Re: [pump and dump alert] Any true reason of this high price? on: December 16, 2015, 10:16:35 PM
I'll try to be short and clear.

I bought 4 btc just before blackfriday as blackfriday has always been linked to a rise of btc price. I thought I'd sell just after but thanks to a little PD problem I had to wait some time.
And I'm more than thankful as I withdrawed my fund the price was up to 400 without any sign of going down.
I sold everything at 450 while things reached a decision point. Price might fall and I don't want to loose such a high profit.

My question here is: Is there any reason for this rise? Or is everything just a classic pump and dump scheme?
Bitcoin was not suddenly used by the majority, was not recognized by any country, no big company decided to accept bitcoin... In fact nothing changed between the beginning of November and today. So I don't see any reason to hold and have faith in this recognition for bitcoin. I see numerous threads popping saying "we'll see 1000$ before January". I like bitcoins and I'd be glad it happens, but I just don't see a reason why it would be so.

Any valid argument on this sudden rise? More than the usual "It's what btc worth, it's the future of tomorrow!!!"
Cause yeah I agree Btc worth much more than fiat money but it's no reason for the rise, the reason would be that people suddenly realize this. And I don't see why they would realize it now.
its not really a sudden rise imo, last time the price went up it was a matter of days before it crashed. but this price has been stable for couple weeks now, although i cant really predict the future price i feel like a crash is not going to happen any time soon.
575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you trust your Bitcoins to a Bitcoin Bank with annual 10% interest rate? on: December 16, 2015, 10:14:53 PM
Would you, or would you not?
if it was a legit company bank like coinbase or something then definitely yes. but if it was something someone just created then i wouldnt, mainly because of the lack of credibility.
576  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoins safe? on: December 16, 2015, 03:10:19 AM
its definitely safe to keep your bitcoins to yourself. but the volatility might not be safe for you. If you just want to keep your bitcoins safe get a paper wallet and never expose it to anyone.
577  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go back to bellow $400? on: December 16, 2015, 02:58:27 AM
so tell me what's your guess. Will bitcoin continue to hold its price and go pass $500 to hold or should we expect a crash going under $400 before the end of the year?
this price increase seems a bit weird. last time bitcoin went up in price it was really fast and it dropped drastically. but this time its increasing gradually so it makes me think maybe the bubble wont pop and it wont decrease drastically this time.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: December 16, 2015, 02:54:29 AM
hi

i am getting addicted to gambling. And i am loosing a lot of money.I am loosing what i can't afford to lose.its sad that when you start loosing its just busted me again and again.at last i gamble for fun but now when i am getting addicted i am loosing too much.

Any suggestions are welcome  Smiley

Regards
i suggest getting a new paper wallet and instead of depositing money into your gambling wallet, just throw the money onto your new paper wallet and pretend that you lost it while gambling, and a couple months later you can treat your self to a nice bonus lol.
579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What wallets do you use and why? on: December 16, 2015, 02:52:33 AM
i use copay for my computer, and keep a little bit on coinbase also. although it can be risky since it is a web wallet. copay kinda feels like the same experience as coinbase to me but with a safer wallet.
580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like Android or ios for mobile Bitcoin transactions? on: December 16, 2015, 02:50:46 AM
i feel like android has smoother bitcoin transactions but i personally prefer ios just because thats the phone i own lol. I hope more apps come out for ios similar to what mycelium for android. that would make ios a even more bitcoin friendly platform.
