Not specially but you contribute to the new ones downloading the multi-GB blockchain and for broadcasting transactions for blocks to later be carried by miners (I think).
562  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin or litecoin on: January 09, 2014, 04:25:59 PM
it depends on the equipment you are using. If you are using a CPU alone then only CPU only low competition might be useful but if you have a GPU you have a wider range of options (popular alt-currencies other than BTC/LTC).
563  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How the Digital goods Start new topic? on: January 09, 2014, 04:16:33 PM
You can post there (and outside this newbie forum) after you accumulate 1 post and 4 hours (of being online?) . You can post in any open section after that.
564  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CoinRPG! A Bitcoin RPG Game! on: January 09, 2014, 04:14:28 PM
a nice idea (for a bitcoin user)  Tongue . Still puzzled about the concept though,are we going to fight an evil "Quark" or what?
565  Other / Off-topic / Re: [POLL] Got free SMS? on: January 09, 2014, 04:09:08 PM
I use pinger.com/tfw and I think they apply as a free SMS Sending/receiving.They work for US numbers only though.
566  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much is a mBTC equal to? on: January 09, 2014, 04:07:29 PM
mBTC= 0.001 Of a Bitcoin.
mBTC=millibitcoin=1 thousandth of a bitcoin=0.001BTC=0.00552 USD

uBTC=microbitcoin=1 millionth of a bitcoin=0.000001BTC=0.0000000552 USD

with a little asterisk on that.  "0.00552 USD, at the current BTC/USD exchange rate of $5.52."

Ha! You ain't kiddin', brotha.... you should see what the price is here in the future.

PRO TIP: Buy up NOW.
Your advice was quite profitable for the ones who followed it at that time (and held the coins until the last big rise) Tongue .
567  Other / Off-topic / Re: 100 Days... I need to get off these forums. on: January 09, 2014, 04:03:53 PM
This forum (and it's subforums) are very addictive,I am just at my 2 day of total time logged in But it's still high compared to how much I used to browse the net before it.
568  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Threat of penny auction for the Silk Road coins? on: January 09, 2014, 04:01:26 PM
IMO I doubt it will happen that way as they too wouldn't want to lose something worth that much for pennies Tongue ,Anyway it should take years for the coins to be sold and most of the news regarding that are to lower the price.
569  Other / Meta / Re: Trust offset on: January 09, 2014, 03:59:17 PM
Yes that would be nice specially as you don't know/want some of the people in someone trust. But IMO it should just be a one layer system as a whole.
570  Other / Off-topic / Re: Demonoid WILL BE BACK! on: January 09, 2014, 03:49:43 PM

572  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: RESULTS of the *FREE* 100 BTC Raffle by Coinroll.it WHERE ARE THEY!?!?!?!??? on: January 09, 2014, 02:50:13 PM
There is no official result yet but an unofficial result here (Using the secret key by dooglus and skrat)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=191176.msg4292464#msg4292464
The issue is john K. being absent (and he is escrowing the money) so even if the winners are declared it's still depend on John K. return.

575  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin network is rejecting Bitcoin microtransactions on: January 07, 2014, 05:14:49 PM
IMO These fees go to the miners to make them more interested in carrying your BTC in the block. The fee is voluntary and you could pay with no fees but don't expect to see your payment for at least a day.
576  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin news on: January 07, 2014, 05:07:59 PM
IMO The reddit bitcoin is a good source for getting news related to bitcoins . Also this forum is a good place to get news and if you like reading bitcoin articles you might like coindesk.com .
577  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Greetings! Block reward halving question on: January 07, 2014, 05:06:01 PM
The halving is more related to rise in mining powers and similar points/period from bitcoin network starting. While Price depend on popularity and use which has increased in the past few years.
578  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC-e account deletion on: January 07, 2014, 04:28:17 PM
And why do you want to delete the account? They don't charge you any BTC's as far as I know (and you aren't interested in anything left on your balance anyway). and they just have your e-mails and no sensitive documents for verification like other exchangers.
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Where can I change my IFC to QRK? on: January 07, 2014, 04:26:04 PM
Go to Cryptsy.com, deposit your IFC and trade it for Bitcoin then trade bitcoin for QRK.

You can't trade IFC directly for BTC or QRK on Cryptsy. You'll need to trade your IFC for LTC or XPM there, then LTC or XPM for BTC, and then BTC for QRK.
That's complicated (and strange) how did they explain this strange restriction? They someone suspend the currency if they feel it's network isn't stable but this is strange.
580  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Simplest way to buy bitcoin in the US? on: January 07, 2014, 04:10:47 PM
Localbitcoins have other listings other than the direct OKPAY as there are Bankwires/deposits and Face to face exchanges and you can take a look at those.
