There is also very little anc for sale. Just look at the orrderbook at cryptsy, which show the 100 lowest sell orders. It is not more then 3535,404126 anc in those 100 sell orders combined for a total value of 6,65 btc. If someone were to buy just those anc it would drive the price up 43,65%. Compared to drk, if someone were to buy the 100 lowest sell orders it would only drive the price up 7,87%. This is current numbers, copy pasted to excel, and should not be used for reference.  |

Just look at the scrypt coins from last summer like feathercoin, digitalcoin, worldcoin which are all trying to be just another litecoin with a few different parameters, developing the same pointless services that already exists for litecoin/bitcoin. And the same is of course true for most of the coins released the last months. Make a few changes, make a big deal out of it and market it as a revolution. One should think there were a limit to how many times the same wheel could be invented. Lost my train of thought lol. What i meant to say is that we need innovation and anoncoin is among the few who are set to deliver just that. And that innovation don't necessary need to involve bitcoin. It's great to have the debug window in the qt version of the software. That makes PoS minting much more comfy Now we may strive for a "minting button"  Yeah this made it much much easier. Never bothered with pos minting before now. Wonder how long it will take before i solve a block. |

Could be when looking at Google Trends. Darkcoin interest continues to rise while the searches for Anoncoin are looking similar to the ANC chart, both getting closer and closer to the all time low.
Well it is really just like a snowball, when it first starts to roll... Darkcoin is amazing at marketing and promoting, but the true value of the coin is probably not even 5% of what it currently is traded for. But darkcoin can be discussed in the darkcoin thread. |

I believe exposure to the coin will be exponential when ZC is officially implemented. BUT if there are no efforts from the devs and loyals to promote this breakthrough implementation, a "popular" coin will simply copy the implementation and take the glory for its own.
Technical innovation is mandatory for success but with no media coverage it will be copied by som1 else and anc will miss it's chance to glory.
Before getting the implementation and code online for the public, a campaign should be organized to promote this upgrade.

You are correct. Anoncoin is mainly about the technical innovations which sadly, on its own, is not enough to make it the success it could be. Do you have any ideas as to what bounties to offer, and where advertising funds should be spent to get the most out of each dollar and dime? None of us are wealthy money-wise but I will throw in what I can spare if we can come up with a game plan. Marketing is absolutely not my field, but I can try to help as best i can. Maybe the idea postet a while back about getting a new logo and some sort of rebranding actually is a good idea? Standard procedure seems to be to put up a bounty, and let the community/ designers submit candidates for the new logo/ brand. The thread with the competiton/submissions must be very professional and informative since it is supposed to reach out to people who have never heard about anoncoin. What is ANC, what is the purpose of ANC, where is ANC going, and so on. The competition including the informative/promotive thread must then be marketed on all fronts. The competiton itself should bring a lot of attention, and if it is really successfull anoncoin might end up with a better logo/ brand. It should be payed for by the community with donations. |

The facts have been known, but drowned in the hype and disgarded as fud. I first read about the instamine weeks ago, but didn't check the block explorer before 26. march and wrote about my findings then. The instamine is 13,8% of total coins, and more then 75% of the coins mined so far can be counted as instamined. |

I'll break it down for you fellas.
Here are some facts.
1. The block reward was 500 every couple seconds at launch! Not 20 or 50 coins every 2.5 minutes as listed. There was also no windows wallet so only linux users could mine. This allowed about 1.7-2 million Darkcoins to be instamined in the first 24hours. Representing about 50% OF ALL DARKCOINS CURRENTLY IN EXISTENCE!!! All mined in the first 24hours by just a few wallets. Then the rules were changed increasing the block time to 2.5 minutes and eliminating the 500 block reward, (but only after the instaminers had claimed 2 million or so coins first.)
2. Today many of those day 1 instamined coins have already been sold and right now approx 24% of all Darkcoins are held in just 10 wallets. This could be 10 people or it could be simply Evan with 10 different wallets.
3. My opinion is that it is unfair and unfortunate that this occurred and IMO it represents a very real risk to Darkcoin in that there is an opening for a good dev to make an Identical X11 coin that has all the attributes of Darkcoin, plus a few more features, and have a truly fair and equitable launch. The instamining will continue to be brought up as it currently represents about a 10% premine given the Dev recently reduced the total coins that will ever be in existence to around 22million!

I jumped ship last night and dumped every mcr I mined over the last weeks. I loved the idea behind this coin. The name is very good, the distribution seemed very good and the launch were probably the best and fairest ever. Why sell now? It would have been better to sell a few weeks back, but now is probably the last chance to get atleast some value back that is better spent investing in more promising coins. The biggest problem with microcoin is the block rewards. When the block rewards fall, the hashrate will continue to fall (given constant price). When it's down to 10k block and descending there will not be much intensive for the miners to mine this coin. Low hashrate equals low security and the coin can then be attacked easily if someone wants to do that. An insecure coin cant be used in real life. Thats mainly why I dont see any future for mcr at this point. Good luck to those of you still holding. Hope i am wrong! |

They are attracted by fancy words and follows the herd bleating what they have read (but not understood) around the forum. Spending their money on obvious scams like earthcoin and darkcoin, coins in general that do extremly well at promoting and branding. What does Earthcoin matter here now, please enlighten me. Just a fuck of a crap coin. Darkcoin is the bleeding edge of crypto currencies though. Tell me what you mean with your statement. I mention earthcoin because everyone can see that earthcoin are a scam now, and the same will be true for darkcoin in a few months. Erthcoin is similar to darkcoin, not technically, but from a community perspective. Both coins rallied the sheeps with a grand plan and fancy words. Darkcoin claimes to be the first anonymous coin. That is not true and it will not happen. Darkcoin promote itself as a zero premined coin. That is true, but it is designed to be extremly instamined and if you look at the block explorer you will see that the instamine is around 14% of the total coins. More then 75% of the exicting coins is instamined by devs/early adopters. There have also been alot of posts about the x11 and "cool cards" that adds to the hype. Darksend, x11, dgw, zero premine, everything the community preach and believe to be facts are actually not as good as they seem or completely true. Can you tell me why and how it won't happen? Please try to limit the discussion to just that, and lets remove ourselves from other things like the hashing function, amount of coins in circulation, distribution of coins in circulation, difficulty retargeting and mining capability. Sorry but i am not competent to answer that. But I am confident enough to make that statement because I have read a lot of responses from and discussions between very competent members on this forum, and the concensus is that coinjoin is not, and will not be anonymous enough no matter what changes darksend might have. Just to make it clear, I don't have any self interest when it comes to darkcoin, and if people want to invest they should do that based on their own judgment and not mine. I have previously warned about numerous scams and this is just one in the line. I dont hold any alt coins now. If i am wrong that would be very good for the community and specially the people buying in now. |

So its been a month or so since the "anonymous" coins came out. The prices on avg between them have fluctuated between 0.5usd-1usd. Using this as an indication of how the market values anonymity services, its reasonable to infer that if SBC had not been a scam and implemented the mixing feature its true value would have been within that range. Therefore it would have been anti-climatic for everyone involved.
There is still not any anonymous coins on the market. Darkcoin is extremly instamined, very well promoted, but it is overhyped and falsely claming to be anonymous when it is not. Anoncoin have still not finished the zerocoin implementation that might make them the first anonymous coin if they are succesfull. And there is still no infomation regarding the launch of zerocash that probably got the best chance to become the preferred anonymous coin. We still have to wait to find out what the actual price of an innovative and anonynous currency will be. |
