561  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: At what point (hash) is solo mining viable? on: July 26, 2014, 04:44:44 PM
I would say that you should have a hashrate equal to at least ~0.7% of the overall network if you wanted to try solo mining. This works out so that you would be expected to mine 1 block per day.
562  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to make a lot money online? on: July 26, 2014, 04:41:38 PM
If you use faucets, this is nice change to boost your faucet income!
You can get free 0.005BTC bonus!

Faucets are a horrible waste of time.

Participating in a sig campaign is probably the best way to make a decent amount of money on the internet.
563  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: July 26, 2014, 04:39:43 PM
Why do people use numb3rs where there should be letters?

Why are you deviating from the current subject of the conversation?

Why do you ask?

Why not?

Why are you confused?

Do you think I need a psychologist?

No but perhaps a long walk off a short pier; what do others think?

Maybe a short walk off a long pier?

That would take too much time then, wouldn't it?

My time is worth more than yours, do you know what I mean?

How would you know what my time is worth?

Well let's begin with how long you have left to live?

Why are you asking, do you think I'm old?

Did someone just strike a nerve asking that question?
Do you even care about old people?
564  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your favorite car????? on: July 26, 2014, 04:38:57 PM
My dream car is the Dodge Viper, without any doubt a bad boy.
This is a great car. I used to own one around 5 years ago.
565  Other / Off-topic / Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. WTF? on: July 26, 2014, 04:38:15 PM
"If the "black box" flight recorder is never damaged during a plane crash. Why isn't the whole damn plane made of that shit?"
The plane would not be able to fly. It would be a giant tank with wings, wings that are pointless.

The passengers of the plane would also likely die regardless in the event of a crash because of the shock impact.

Girlfriends nipple
567  Other / Off-topic / Re: If a girl invites u to go swimming, what does this mean? on: July 26, 2014, 04:33:11 PM
It probably means that she wants to go swimming, and that she wants to hang out with you while doing so.

This is just a wild guess.
568  Other / Off-topic / Re: This thing is pretty good on: July 26, 2014, 04:26:38 PM
It should be noted that Akinatior learns what he knows from people's input. Everyone can add new people and propose new question paths. At least that's what it was like when I was playing around with it.
That is very interesting. It sounds like it is kinda like "learned intelligence"
569  Other / Off-topic / Re: How long have you been logged in for? on: July 26, 2014, 04:13:47 PM
For me so far: 22 hours and 23 minutes!
570  Other / Off-topic / Re: who wants to go in biggest party in the world on: July 26, 2014, 04:10:19 PM
At a point the additional "fun" of a party does not increase when additional people are in attendance.
571  Other / Off-topic / Re: Amazon loss widen on: July 26, 2014, 04:09:15 PM
The article has nothing to do with bitcoin and the conclusion of the thread starter is totally stupid.

The loss of Amazon widens because the company's CEO follows a maximize sales first - earn money later strategy. That can be very dangerous if you loose the confidence of your creditors. The market cap of Amazon is extremely high compared to earnings. If investors continue to question the ability of the business to earn money in future, stock price will likely collapse.

ya.ya.yo!
You are right this is a very risky strategy and at this point probably a bad one. Amazon is at a point now where it is not going to be able to grow very much from where it is now so it should start to try to maximize profits.
572  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine's prospects for future on: July 26, 2014, 06:45:46 AM
Need bailout from the IMF or EU

They will get the bailout from EU / IMF. But at a huge cost. The IMF will ask them to reduce pensions by 80%, to fire 50% of the government employees and to make a haircut from all the savings bank accounts (just like what happened in Cyprus).

I think this will happen, they will go like the path of Cyprus. In the end, the Ukrainian people are worse of - no matter what side they support - than before this war.

Yes, I agree with this.
It looks that there is no win scenario for Ukraine people in this war, they are fighting with stronger military power (Russia), have no money and EU giving them just declarative support and empty promises.
Any way, their politicians will have to make some very difficult decisions soon and probably will have to solve their situation in direct negotiation with Russia.
I'm not sure if they can avoid financial collapse, and in this war I don't think they can win or get everything they want.

The war significantly contributes to the future collapse of the Ukrainian economy, but even if there were no war, Ukraine would still face the same problems. Russia has been subsidizing the Ukrainian economy for many years (partly because of Crimea and the Russian naval base there), and now these times apparently came to an end.
I wouldn't say that russia is subsidizing the ukraine economy, but that they are a major trading partner.

It is very easy to identify people who use TOR, you only need to check with ISPs to see who is connecting to a gatekeeper.

Agreed, TOR is not the best tool for anonymity..
It is a great tool for anonymity. It will be obvious that you are using it, but it is difficult for an attacker to determine what you are doing on TOR
574  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Social Security on: July 26, 2014, 06:31:28 AM
Do away with it or keep it? If do away with it, do you replace it with something, and if so what? If keep it, what do you do to address the funding shortfall that arises in 20 years?

Keep it but modify it
Modifications change the rates change the type of investments allowed and force governments to be unable to spend or use that money except for its intended purpose.

That or start developing other investment vehicles like Canada did with the RRSP and TFSA accounts
I think that retirement ages need to be increased by at least 5 years, but probably 10. When social security was created the retirement age was above what the average person would live to. Today, most people will end up dying decades after entering retirement.
575  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israel: Operation Protective Edge on: July 26, 2014, 06:28:32 AM
Here's my peace process plan:

Point 1: Israel withdraws from the West Bank. In exchange, Israel gets 2 Los Angeles Class submarines, 10 F-22s, and 20 F-35s. Afterwards, it annexes all of East Jersualem and gives Arabs living their equal rights as Israeli citiizens. It then annexes the Golan Heights and gives everyone there equal rights as Israeli citizens.

Point 2: Mahmoud Abbas cuts ties with Hamas in exchange for an Israeli guarantee to never expand territory, even after winning any future defensive wars.

Point 3: Israel agrees to never expand territory as long as the Golan Heights, pre-1967 Israel, and a united Jerusalem (East and West) are recognized as Israeli and Ramallah becomes the Palestinian capitol.

Point 4: Israel makes peace with the Palestinians and with all of its neighbors and they work together financially and politically.
Why should Israel annexes Jerusalem why not give Jerusalem to the Palestinians ? and why should Israel be armed even further ?

Hamas finds it reason in existence, in the colonization of Palestine by Israel, if Israel, goes to pre-1967 there won't any war, especially is Palestinians are allowed to have their own country with real institution with police and army that could enforce order.
Hammas only point to exist is to try to get Israel out of their holy land and to promote their religion.

There is the attempted deception, this has nothing to do with religion, that is merely the pathetic shield that true evil hides. This is about real living, breathing, bleeding, grieving, human beings caught up in state genocide.
Who are you referring to that is doing this? Hammas is using palistine citizens as human shields and the Jews have been attempted to have been wiped out of the planet via the nazis in WW2.
576  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anti-Israel protesters rally across France on: July 26, 2014, 06:20:02 AM
No offense but that sounds like a totally made up number. There are more and more Latinos in the US but it's not like they are the majority, yet. Although I think whites won't be greater than 50 percent in the next few decades. Depends what region you live in too I guess

Latinos are already approaching the majority mark in several of the big US states, such as Texas and California. And as of 2013, white births were less than 50% of all the American births.

Coming back to France, the 15% mark will surely go up in the next few decades. It may not reach 40%, but 25% to 30% is possible by 2050.
Immigrants really are taking over the modernized world.
577  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why so many planes crashing/disappearing recently? on: July 26, 2014, 06:17:23 AM
Even when the chances of one plane crashing is low, over time you will see a larger number of planes crash in a short period of time. It is simply the law of probability.
578  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CNN national poll: Rand Paul 13%, Bush 13%, Ryan 12%, Huckabee 10%, Christie 9% on: July 26, 2014, 06:16:09 AM
I think bush has the best chances of winning as his family is one of the more politically powerful families in America.
Yeah, I guess it would matter as to whom the America people are sick of more, the Bushes or the Clintons (I'm not really even sold on her running yet). But frankly, I can't see the GOP base turning out it in droves for a Bush and Rand will be too popular for people to settle on Bush as the nominee.
I think if Clinton were to win the nomination then the GOP would likely teat her to shreds with her handling of bengazadi.
579  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Send the Illegals Back, Americans First! on: July 26, 2014, 06:09:15 AM
The US economy would collapse almost overnight without illigal workers doing jobs nobody else would take. In fact VICE just released a short documentary on this exact topic a few days ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXUdozfL7iM

I have a hard time understanding how you could be so ignorant of fundamental things happening right in your own back yard.
I doubt the US economy would collapse. WIth a smaller supply of workers, labor costs would likely rise, however unemployment, and the number of people marginally unemployed is high enough so that wages would not need to rise a lot.
580  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin was tangled in the spider web of own lie, - The Economist on: July 26, 2014, 06:07:17 AM
The Economist is not a propaganda tool from US?
The economist is actually a very conservative magazine, and does not generally get along with the liberal Obama administration.
