561  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: December 21, 2023, 12:26:24 PM
I agree with monthly payment or USDT or LTC.
I think this decision doesn't depend on only Bestchange and her campaign participants. It will have something to do with the forum at large. Amidst the obvious mempool congestion, you will be surprised when some members will suggest that Bestchange should move her ANN thread to the altcoins section if they start paying with USDT or LTC.
562  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: December 20, 2023, 10:28:09 AM
1.6M Sats is a way too much to pay for a transaction fee. This should be the highest a campaign has paid as a fee. I think paying averagely good few and not as high as this, and doing CPP for the last week and this week transaction would have saved cost.

Season's greeting, everyone!
Merry, merry time of the year!
I return the best to you and the entire Bestchange team
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading new listed coin/token on: December 19, 2023, 06:33:27 PM
I am not a fan of investing in altcoins or even shitcoins because majority of the coins which are newly listed in CEXs are shitcoins. But of a recent I have been studying the binance app and I have discovered that newly listed coins make fast upwards movement. I have thought about choosing random newly listed coins to invest but what came to my mind was the timing. How will I be able to time the market very well. If there's a tool for that. thankGod for this thread.

I would like to ask someone who already has experience of trading Crypto if he confirms what I have written.

Or maybe I missed something and it is possible to create a bot for a coin that is in the listing process...

I’m not sure if bot is possible to use to CEX but one thing is for sure that many traders is carefully watching for newly listed token since there’s a countdown for it on the exchange itself. Imagine having thousands or millions of traders doing the same waiting for the coin to list with the same goal of buying immediately when the countdown ends. I’m sure the price will surely skyrocket since most of them use a market order to immediately fill their order.

I’m only certain that bot is widely use on DEX since this exchange is decentralized. This bot is called sniper bot on DEX.

Rather than believing the bot analogy, I will instead think that it is the number of people on wait to buy the coin immediately it is listed that makes the price to jump. This is possible because the volume of the newly listed coins are small, so little buy pressure will push the price up so high. OP, rather than buying when listed, is there no how you will know the projects that will be listed and buy the ICO price.
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you take out your investment when in profit? on: December 19, 2023, 05:09:54 PM
A lot of my altcoins have pumped over the last month or so and it has got me wondering when the best time is to take out initial investment.

Is it too early to take it out once you have doubled your money , is waiting till you have done a 5x or more too greedy?

My best investment so far has been Myria - I got lucky with this one and bought pretty much at the bottom a few months ago and I took my investment out last week once it did a 10x so I am now holding a bag of Myria with no risk.

I have other altcoins I am holding that I am up 3 or 4x on but have not taken profit yet but thinking of doing so , just take my investment out then I am holding more with no risk.

What does everyone else do when it comes to altcoins?
You have asked a similar question in the bitcoin discussion board. I just took my time to revisit your question and it is so identical. Why repeating same question in different boards? This can be regarded as spamming.
Let me give you benefit of doubt that the question in the bitcoin discussion board was meant for your bitcoin investment while this is for altcoins investment.
If you invested in an altcoin and already in X10 profit, what again are you waiting for to sell. I am just so scared that I do not invest in altcoins, but if I have a legit information about any altcoin, I may change my mind and invest. X3 is a very huge profit I mean.
Although, altcoins investment is just like gambling, the reverse can also happen. That is the reason I have sticked with bitcoin.
565  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are we expecting between now and Bitcoin halving? on: December 19, 2023, 04:41:21 PM
First bull run coming up for me and after seeing the price of Bitcoin rally in the last few months particularly it is getting me somewhat excited for what is to come over the next few years.
The movement of bitcoin from the region of $15k to the region of $40k is a reaffirmation to what will happen in the coming months. The upwards movement of Bitcoin has given us a resounding hope to believe in the upcoming bull run. Assuming, the price was still in the region of 15k and 20k, it would have been very obvious that a new ATH would be difficult to attain. But with the sudden movement, we are optimistic.

I am just wondering what we are all expecting between now and the Bitcoin halving in April next year. Is it going to be a steady climb till then or is there usually a crash of some kind?
Bitcoin does not move only in one direction. We should also expect a correlation in some certain points and the price will pick up again. But I don't think bitcoin price will retaste anything below 35k before the anticipated bull run.

Up until now I have just been buying throughout the bear market and not sold anything , my portfolio is currently 26% in profit which I am happy with but wondering if I should keep holding till past the bull run or take some profits now.
Only you know your purpose of investment. Did you invest with DCA? If yes, you might not need to sell. Although, you can sell if you have an urgent need of money. Sell your 26% and keep the capital.

566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin create an opportunity to reduce poverty? on: December 19, 2023, 04:25:31 PM
It been a big challenge in most country since the fuel subsidy and bad economy some country  are facing.A lot of people find it difficult to feed themselves and families, Now it Christmas season alot of people don’t have transport to go their various stats due to the high cost of transportation,  bad road and insecurities in some nation, some many lose intrest. As a good country the government should have free bus for less privileged to travel home for season like this.that why cryptocurrency should be taught free to individual with serious mind, with the rate of overpopulation and poverty in the country it something everyone or most people suppose to learn because the world is going digital and our currency is not appreciating compared to other currencies and the value is so low.that why am suggesting that Bitcoin and altcoin should be taught free of charge and the knowledge should be pass to the younger ones since they are the leader of tomorrow let see how it can reduce the rate of poverty or eradicate poverty entirely in every Nation. The world is suffering and Bitcoin should be introduced in every nation and should be freely

First, this post is more about the agony of your country men and the bad government. I think it is best fit in the Nigerian local board, who knows if the president of Nigeria will decide to join bitcointalk and may one day stumble on this post. This could be by 2035 and they will provide free bus.

On the question if bitcoin can reduce poverty. It is no longer a new thing. Bitcoin has done it and will continue to do it. But then, bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. For you to benefit from bitcoin, you will have to do any of the following;
  • Have a job and then be investing in bitcoin
  • Own a business and DCA with your profits
  • Have a skill, offer services and ask people to pay you with bitcoin
  • Become a minner
  • Maybe the easiest, is to develop a good writing skill, grow your account here and join a signature campaign
In a nutshell, bitcoin cannot turn a poor country to a rich one. It is the government that will create jobs and not bitcoin.
567  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 18, 2023, 09:16:56 PM
I haven't decided yet whether I'll remove old mixer avatars: if I do, it won't be for at least a few weeks after Jan 1. (New mixer avatars definitely aren't allowed.)

Let's assume you will allow old mixer avatars just like you allowed old animated avatars. Then, mixer accounts have pm access, this means someone wearing old mixer avatars can get a nice deal via pm to keep it. Will this mean promotion of the mixer, since the deal is not done publicly and there's no way to show that the person is being paid for wearing the avatar.
568  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc dump to 39600 on: December 18, 2023, 10:46:21 AM
Btc broke 42200 support
Now the target is 39600

There was no strong support at 42k, so a little correct is expected to dig pass 42k easily and talking about 39k support, it is also possible for it to happen. People who should be bothered are short term investors. People who bought when the price was at the region of 15k shouldn't panic, rather they should decide if they want to sell or still hold. But, I think someone who bought once at the region of 15k should be able to sell but someone who has been buying with DCA and the investment has been passive on him can with a little longer.

Btc broke 42200 support
Now the target is 39600

The decision of the SEC regarding the Blackrock Spot Bitcoin ETF will be shared with the public in the 1st quarter of 2024. Expect Bitcoin to go up hard, or to go down hard. It will depend on that decision. Cheesy

Well, even if the decision goes on the negative side and Bitcoin goes down hard as you predicted, one good thing is that, the incident will not be the end of bitcoin. Bitcoin will definitely bounce back.
569  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects those who DCA on: December 18, 2023, 10:11:54 AM
The current Bitcoin fees wouldn't have mattered to me because I am not selling, but the fees do matter because I DCA, and I don't want to leave my coins in the centralized exchange. This month, I have spent roughly $5 to $10 in transaction fees when I DCA every week. It may seem small, but in my country, it's enough to cover my feeding expenses for a month cumulatively.
Fees are definitely an important factor for those doing DCA, especially who doing small amounts every month of week. Over the past few days, the abnormal increase in the value of some BRC20 tokens has caused network congestion and continues to do so. While this situation is not a problem for large investors or holders, it is a big problem for those who are small investors or holders especially those who collect bitcoins weekly or monthly. Here I think if the holders temporarily hold the bitcoins in the exchanges and when the effect of ordinal decreases then the transaction fee will be normal again. At that time they can collect bitcoins. Or you can keep your money for a few months to collect bitcoins again when the fees decrease.

Yea, if is true... Someone making transaction $2000 will not mind paying a transaction fee of upto $10. But someone who is on a weekly DCA of $20 will not be comfortable paying a transaction fee that is up $5.  I support your idea of temporarily holding the coins in an exchange and allow it accumulate before sending to the private wallet.

No matter how risky exchanges are, we need them at this time and it is good that before anyone uses an exchange, they should ensure that it is somewhat a reputable exchange. There are some exchanges we are sure that they are not winding up tomorrow. So, it is fine we use such exchanges at this time of mempool congestion.
570  Other / Meta / Re: I think it's possible to keep going without banning mixers on: December 18, 2023, 09:36:04 AM
I know and understand that it's some kind of censorship but it's better than absolutely banning particular categories. I think that it's not necessary for theymos to ban discussion and promotion of mixers. If forum administration and moderation will react when there is an article about particular mixer or casino or another scam crypto project and ban ANN/promotional threads of these particular projects, they won't be included in justice.gov's pdfs and won't be mentioned anywhere. I think this is a safe and better option.

I do not know why we keep coming up with excuses or suggestions to keep the mixer's discussions and marketing running on this forum.

Isn't the decision of the theymos and he is probably the better judge to know what is good for him and the forum, rather than any other member of the forum.

It's time that we accept his decision. Also, i don't think that no matter which logic we come up with, he is ever going to change his decision, not in the current times when authorities are after the mixers.

In a particular way, I do understand the Op when he said that a particular mixer who has entered the government bad book or who the media has written bad against, should immediately be banned in the forum and maybe its ANN thread archived or trashed. This will be a solution only when the forum is in good relationship with the government. In the other way, the government does not have time to ask if the forum was able to ban a particular mixer when they learnt that they are bad players.
Remember that this forum is already in the government PDF. We understood this when chipmixer was seized. The best thing for the forum is to exenorate itself completely.

Also remember that theymos is a resident in US, he therefore should know better than us what the US government is able to do in a situation like this. Let's work with theymos decision even if it's not the best for us now. There is future and there is room for reversal of decisions if necessary.
571  Other / Meta / Re: To login I had to go thru over 50 captcha is this normal? on: December 18, 2023, 09:05:19 AM
Is this normal if your using tor browser?

This is normal when using tor, you can use the captcha bypass and bookmark it as suggested but be careful if someone get access to the direct link it can be use to brute force your forum password according to what I read.

Even without reading this anywhere, I had thought about it that it could be risky if someone has access to the direct link. But I could not understand if truly it is such risky, because the captcha is not protecting the user rather the forum.

But if you are in TOR browser then not 50 but even more than a 100 is very normal.
Tor users will have to face those issues because privacy comes with a cost and the ones who value privacy doesn't care much about the costs. I rarely use Tor but I must say it's a worthy browser for the ones who love privacy.

I like the phrase privacy comes with a cost . It is that price that I am not willing to pay, but anyone who is overly private will pay the price. With the stress one goes in real life and other challenges of life, I do not think that I have the patience to try pass captcha more than 5 times
572  Other / Meta / Re: An empty OP of a pinned thread in Archival? on: December 18, 2023, 08:49:24 AM
When a sticky topic is moved to another place, it retains its sticky status in the place where it was moved to. This topic was sticky in the Russian section, so when Ratimov moved it, it remained sticky in the new place.

But this is not appropriate as NotATether noted.
If a sticky post is moved from the territory it gained its sticky status, it ought to lose its power of being sticked. A post is pinned in a particular board because of how relevant the post is, in that particular board. A sticked post in trading board will be unsuitable as a sticky post in meta. Maybe it is time for the admin to work on the back end and change the line of code that makes posts sticky even after being moved.
573  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: December 18, 2023, 08:37:57 AM
He already heard about it. Now we wait for the next topic from him 😂
The meta board is in my watchlist

  • AntiHero: framky, digaran

Who is framky Franky1, I wonder? While I have zero idea why people(ring kissers) are nominating me, but I like their style, they hit 2 birds with 1 stone, farm merit and secure spot in campaigns in future. 😂
News flash I'm out of sm. Can't veto. @Bitcoin_Girlsomething, check your pgp thread.😉
Franky1 is the all time Anti hero of BCT. There's nothing anti about him. Just that he is bold and adamant about his belief about bitcoin and LN. His audacity brought him to the wrong spotlight of many. But I admire him for his ability to make cogent contributions in the forum without wearing signature. Seems he loves being voted in that category.
I'm just wondering why and how you joined the category  Grin. Maybe before the year ends, I'll figure out.

I have had a chat with her, her tones and emotions are femalike
Tone and emotions could also be deceiving, here is why:
Have you noticed every time some one tags me, I'd go post a topic on reputation board and would go to meta crying to theymos that they have done me wrong?  Well my tone and emotions at such times is like a spoiled little bitch. So.. 😂
Should I vote you in the category of Miss Bitcointalk?
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nowhere is safe part 2 on: December 17, 2023, 09:58:54 AM
You can't be wrong about this, but first, why are these posts in the altcoin section of the forum? They are better in the main section of the forum to gather more recognition and reading, even as it's the right place fitting for this post. You might want to contact a moderator to help you move them (including those in the links attached) to the right section.

I also do not believe that this topic belongs here, I think it would have better fit in the cyber security sub board if it were created. Maybe, it will be nice Op send the topic where he made the first topic about no place is safe.

Actually, the cryptocurrency industry is full of risk and the best way to avoid being hacked is to avoid people knowing you own bitcoin and the wallet you have it.
575  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: December 17, 2023, 09:26:09 AM
...Theymos can also confuse you by not giving the correct information and if he does give you the correct information then I will report it to the right agency.

Please, be careful mentioning agency in this forum, if theymos hears it, he might ban gender from January, 2024 Grin
576  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbies and even pro traders making the same mistake but here is how to do it on: December 17, 2023, 08:11:40 AM
1. if you see that the price is starting to fall and you are already at a loss, sell 80-90% of the coin immediately with this action, you will have money reserves, if the remaining 10%-20% falls, you will be able to buy it again with your 80-90% money reserves. (It work like magic - allmost)
Selling 80-90% of the coin and buying it back later is a good idea but this will work well only if the coin is not going continuously downwards. And if you know the point of reversal or will you wait until it reverses before you join the upwards trend. This method seems effective but if you time it wrongly it's Gona backfire immensely.

2.start buying with 1%-2% of your total money allocated for this operation, just make daily purchases of 1%-2% for this coin even if the coin is in an uptrend.
I know that people sell all their coins quickly out of fear and panic when they see that there is a big loss but this is wrong you only have to sell 80%-90% and the rest you can already control with your money reserves it is like driving a car where you you must not panic but control the situation with a cool head by acting correctly with the steering wheel and gas pedal following what you have been told or the same as self-defense where you have to not follow your emotions but act with a cool head according to the instructions in order to achieve maximum control over the situation.

Not panicking when your cars goes off control implies that the driver is not only an experienced driver but he is also emotionally and morally strong to withstand and defeat fear. We should also not forget the confidence factor. A non confident driver will end up bashing his car because of fear. Same is applied to trading, even if the trader is a pro but if they are not emotionally strong, mistakes and regrets are inevitable.
577  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I see many users talk about trading but does anyone here actually trading? on: December 17, 2023, 07:33:10 AM
OP, I want to assure you that at a time, everyone here had tried their hands in trading. I mean everyone must have tried trading and failed at a particular point. Some have given up while others are still trying their best to make profits. Trading is the first thing that anyone who knows about cryptocurrency will like to try. It is believed to be one of the easiest and coolest ways to make money in the cryptocurrency industry. It is when they have involved in trading that they will meet the reality. Trading is not difficult, anyone can do it, but being on a profit radar on the long run is where the problem lies.

I can also confirm to you that those institutions or individuals teaching trading makes more money teaching trading than they make trading. At a point in time everyone, including the newbies will understand that trading is not really for everyone. Not everyone can withstand the tension and emotions involved in trading and that is why many people have given up on trading but have now resorted to giving trading advices.
578  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sell yourserlf to potential advertisers | sales pitches included on: December 17, 2023, 07:06:29 AM
Royse777, honestly you have done great. There's an African adage that says "No man shows his fellow man the track and position to kill mgbada. Mgbada is an animal and/or group of animals of same specie that moves in track. They can be 20 in number, so for you to be able to kill one or more of them, all you need to know is the track they move and you ambush them. History has it that people will always direct others to the fake track or rather remain mute about it. But every evening you see them coming home with 5 to 10 Mgbada.

Royse777, within the space of one year, you have grown reasonably in the management business even amidst some challenges. Coming public to announce the strategies you adopted makes me confirm you as a good human being. Congratulations and keep moving higher.
579  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What thread can earn newcomers merit on: December 17, 2023, 06:23:03 AM
...the next question is," how much have u earned", I was absolutely discourage as I remained mute till date.

There's a problem somewhere and that problem is that you do not know your purpose in this group. If I may ask, is you purpose here to earn merits? Secondly, people asking you how much merits you have earned do not also know their purpose here. Merits can be earned by crooks but that cannot be said about knowledge. If you look around, you will discover that there are some merit give away threads but there's no knowledge give away threads. In terms of earnings, there are three things you can earn;
  • First you earn knowledge
  • Your earned knowledge will help you make quality posts to earn merits
  • Your earned merits will enable you join signature campaign to earn bitcoin

Re: What thread can earn newcomers merit
Threads were something substantial is discussed and not a random thread like "I love Elon musk". There are also give away threads like that of fillippone if it's what you are asking about.
580  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't give attention to unsolicited DM with link to claim a reward. on: December 16, 2023, 10:10:56 PM
I have successfully deactivated my telegram group, although I have some plans to reactivate it. I have seen that I do not make money through telegram and I do not also offer services or promote goods with my telegram, and yet I am exposed to some scammer who go.on by sending unsolicited to messages to individuals. This is worse when you are a in a group where the admin is not strong and it seems that nothing is regulated. People send in messages, pretending to be admin or working with admin to Sam people.

With what OP presented, it is enough reasons for we to understand that nothing is free anywhere even in Free Town. If you are asked to claim any amount of money you didn't work for, know that it is a scam. No one gives random people that don't know money.
