17 is low, i get 17 too, but a 980ti can do 18, the 1070 should reach 20 at least

980ti test was done with single gpu and i7-6700k, don't know if that makes some difference to hashrate.

PALGIN'S LATEST RELEASE (V3) STABLE OVERNIGHT--
The math is a little rough, but my 980ti is earning about $5.50 a day mining BitCore, where it normally earns $2.50.  I am mining on YIIMP, with an intensity of  "-i 21"  The card clocks at 13MH/s, and earns about 1.6 BTX a day.  At he current price of 0.00215 BTC for 1 BTX:

       1.6 BTX/DAY x .00215 BTC/BTX x $1600/BTC = $5.50/DAY

Lunch at McD's is paid for.       --scryptr

With a miner that does 20MHASH a day on the gtx980ti, you don't need to eat lunch at McD's Wink

Hmmm... Palgin's v3 did closer to 18MH with 980ti, 16MH @80% tdp. Didn't even touch to intensity.

No fiat exit in Poloniex, Kraken and Bitstamp are going to lag, maybe GDAX will work. We'll see...

You don't need to send it to your bank account to keep it from depreciating in value

Of course you don't, my last BTC will be sold to EUR and kept in Kraken wallet waiting for better times (=shorting with all the leverage I can find). Ok, some dust in Poloniex to play with.

you just need to unlink it from BTC, such as other alt coins.

What would be your pic? ETH and XMR used to be safe haven's but I am not sure anymore, what will happen when that big dump comes. Will that money go to alts or fiat?

Coinbase for instance has a USD wallet. BTCE also has one. All you have to do is move it to your wallet or out of BTC and wait.

My biggest crypto holdings are not in BTC and for sure not in (RUR) exchange. Nothing against BTC-E but I only use it to monitor LTC.

Big BTC holders cannot use exchange as a wallet, they are the ones who need to send it to exchange to sell (ok, OFC too). But hey, this is pure speculation, BTC is going to $50,000 this year...not.

To be somehow on topic, BTC is only +50% this year. There are nvidia coins that are +400-1000%...

you are sad if you sold and didn't hold :-D

XCN is much better than BTC in terms of profits )) I still have some BTC but that is on exchange trailing sell order set.

I am sad because what is going to happen is not going to be a good thing for cryptos in general. Traders are going get rich though.
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: May 02, 2017, 11:39:52 AM
I must say I have never felt this sad watching btc going up. Disgusting.

Everyone is sitting at their computer with the sell button on a hair trigger.

Except that sell button doesn't work, when dumping starts every exchange lags so bad that it is impossible to trade. I highly recommend placing stop orders.

Moving btc to exchange is going to be another thing, that already fucked network is going to be even slower. Blocks even more full, slow blocktimes, it can easily take hours before your deposit is ready. And when you try to sell all you can see is a cloudfare error page.

After they have squeezed these shorts there are no buyers left but this can pump really high before that.

As a miner, I am very interested what will happen to profitability. It can get better or worse, nothing surprises me anymore.

567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire R9 290 trix still in the game on: May 01, 2017, 03:08:21 PM
Right now my hawaii daily powerbill is about 12% of daily paper revenue so yes, they are still very much in the game.
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Undervolting an AMD 7990 on: April 28, 2017, 10:15:44 PM
my question: is it safe to just go lower and lower with the voltage (to keep the fanspeed lower), or can that physically damage the card?

Yes it is completely safe, you know it wants more voltage when you start seeing artifacts/ miner hangs/ rig reboots. Just add some voltage or lower clocks even more to find your sweet spot.

Also try ubq, exp and music with 7990.
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GPU's For Mining? on: April 26, 2017, 10:47:20 PM
Still waiting for that best gpu, I want it to shine on ethash, equihash and cryptonight. Some niche algos would be great too.

Vega?

Wow that's interesting. I wonder if gpuz shows which chip you have.. and if like all gpus of a certain model (like for example msi 570 4gb armor) are all the same "chip type"

Some cards with XTR chip:

MSI Radeon RX 580 Gaming X+
Asus ROG Strix Radeon RX 580 TOP
Aorus Radeon RX580 XTR
Sapphire Nitro+
XFX GTR-S Black Edition

from what i saw in articles is that the xtx is the 580 and the xtl is the 570...

There are 580's with XTX and XTR chips, XTR ones are more or less handpicked with lower default voltage and higher clocks. This is all we know so far, this is undocumented feature.

This may be old news but did you guys know there are two versions of polaris 20, XTX and XTR?
573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Energy Efficient CPU Mining Algorithm's on: April 25, 2017, 07:28:22 PM
Biggest problem with cpu algos is that they get raped by botnets, operator gets all the profit and someone else pays the bills.
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.2 (Windows/Linux) on: April 25, 2017, 08:36:25 AM
Hi guys ! Correct me if Im wrong. If i see 1100 watt from the wall on my wattmeter , so on 80+ Standard PSU its 1100*0.8=880 power load of PSU. And its good enough for PSUs working conditions (1000Watt Chieftech)?
I mean its about 85% of its full load.

Right ?
If you have a 1000W PSU how can you see 1100 at the wall? Something is wrong...
The 80+ standard is a measure of efficiency. No PSU will deliver 100% of its nominal output, 10~20% is lost in heat.
Therefore, a 1000W PSU will only deliver ~800W within a limited range of loads, and not at full load. Got it?
A 1000W PSU will never "suck" 1100w from the wall....

A quality 1000w PSU easily outputs 1000w to DC side, depending on efficiency under 100% load you see much higher numbers at the wall.

For example, corsair rm1000 at 100% load - 89% efficiency @ 230Vac - 1123w (1000/0.89) at the wall. And you can easily overload them too, not saying I would do it but it is possible.
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: For the first time in a while... seems like there is a shortage of miners on: April 24, 2017, 12:04:45 AM
I used to think this but the 2 new cards by zotac are built perfectly for mining zec.

a 1060 with 9gb and a 1080 with 11.2 gb

6GB 9Gbps and 8GB 11Gbps so only mem oc ~10%.

the 6gb to 9gb  on the 1060  should make the card jump from 330h to close to 400h  I am looking to test the card as it appears as if it will really jump mining zec.

They are not adding more memory only the speed of the memory is 10% higher. 6gb is still 6gb, nice marketing though...

then every 30 days use that btc to pump zec.

they simply  buy  339 btc of zec once a month  to pump the price.

Zec needs 300 btc EVERY DAY just to keep the price at 0.05, so far someone has been willing to pay that. $1,000,000 every three days. Who that someone is we don't know, he doesn't show on buy books. Alternatively someone mines most of the daily supply and holds, somehow I find it hard to believe.

Biggest zec 'market' does $2,000,000 daily volume with buy book worth of $100,000 (haha!), second biggest daily $600,000 with $300,000 of buys. Not sure if your theory is right but something is going on for sure.

Good food miners though.

578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone have problem withdraw USD from Kraken ? on: April 21, 2017, 02:41:30 PM
I had a small btc withdrawal issue with them a couple of weeks ago, it took almost week for them to respond to my ticket.

'Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We have a bit of a backlog right now. I'm attempting to mass-solve a few tickets at once. Sorry if this message isn't quite getting the issue you're writing about. If I don't answer your question, just respond to this, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.'

After that my issue was resolved fast but they might be even busier now.
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: could anybody measure undervolted 290/x/390/x power draw on: April 21, 2017, 05:33:48 AM
s it measured off the wall? because 120w seems really low
Yep, of the wall. Clocks are something like 776/1000, volts ~0.9...
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: could anybody measure undervolted 290/x/390/x power draw on: April 20, 2017, 11:05:32 PM
i wonder how low is the power draw when a 290/x or 390/x is giving same hashrate as 300H/s Zec or 28.5Mhs eth?

With that 1.04V average 390 does ~1050/1625 (strapmod) which brings it to 400+ on equihash. I will try how much it needs to be underclocked to do only 300.

Last summer hawaii's were doing 26-27MH eth with 160-180w, must say all this open data to mod straps wasn't available back then.

edit: to do only 300 on zec you need to go really low. Needs more testing, max 120w.
