561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you spend your Bitcoin? on: October 20, 2021, 11:58:54 PM
I both hold and spend. 90% of my asset dwells in Bitcoin which leaves me with no choice than to spend from my holdings. But I ensure what I'm spending my coin on is worth the withdrawal else I rather starve my self of it. And I only withdraw from the profit I get from the bullish run while holding meaning in bear market I hardly go near my wallet except for pressing issues
562  Economy / Economics / Re: Reality Check on Crypto on: October 20, 2021, 11:07:15 PM
It's not as If people using the morden financial system feel too comfortable using them even though most of the financial institutions tries their best to maintain a clean and transparent ledger. The issue of volatility has made many shy away from substantiating Bitcoin as a unit-of-account. And non-decentralized advocators aren't knowledgeable enough to know what the stand to gain using the decentralized ledger format. Many still see Bitcoin as an anti-government innovation that has come to fight against the long existence of manipulated ledger accounts. But in actual sense Bitcoin is more saving than the traditional banking system.

If Bitcoin can attain some level of stability many would decide to adopt it as a clear unit-of-account across boarders. With the level of volatility it posses if it's used for transaction purpose there will be constant difference in price from point to point and a drop in currency value might alter transactions.
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Member when crypto had a vison to change the world n wasn't just endless scams? on: October 20, 2021, 11:01:50 PM
Crypto currency only came to change just an aspect of the world which is the financial trust we had over years been enslaved to ledgers that could be manipulated and changed to suit government policies. I would rather say Blockchain is just the perfect visionary technology that has come to change the orientation of world activities building back the trust system across sectors with immutable database that exist only by consensus
564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: October 19, 2021, 11:14:56 PM
I believe that Arsenal has been great recently. I mean obviously not "great" but a lot better compared to how they started and I believe that they are going to be doing even better in the future as well. For the past 5 days they have not lost any games and had 3 wins and 2 draws and that is a very important part of the situation as well.

Certainly not winning against Crystal Palace doesn't look like a good situation and I believe that they should be beating much more teams and they should be doing better compared to how they started, but at the same time instead of looking at pre-season situation look at the early days where they were at the relegation level, it should be awesome that they are doing better at least.
No one believed Arsenal would ever recover from going on relegation this season because their startup matches had nothing to discuss about. There have been a huge improvement not minding their last game against crystal palace which I would say emphatically that they tried compared to what their earlier games this season used to be. We had improvement. Even though they don't do much to play for the premier league title they have done well to have improved on their games
565  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon musk now the richest man in earth on: October 19, 2021, 10:07:22 PM
Quote
Elon Musk has entered rarified air in the world billionaire rankings. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO is not only currently the richest person in the world, but is now worth as much as fellow billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffett combined.
Riches is a product of how much solutions you can offer with your innovation and how many people would love to receive what you have to offer. It's not shocking how Elon musk highjacked the richest man title in the world his solutions and electric cars innovation is worth making him attain this couple with his steady investment in cryptocurrency

Quote
My question is can Elon musk sustain this new found financial spot for how long? We have seen bill gate coming back to this spot from time to time and occupying it for a longer time. Now that Elon musk is said being the richest in the world , is he going to keep to this status longer or we are yet going to hear another story of selling off assets because Elon musk is now known as a public stage man Grin Roll Eyes So what do you think?
Definitely Elon musk would hold it has long has his business investment remains relevant to the world. Just like the days of Bill gates while Microsoft was still the prevailing business Bills held the title until IOT took a new whole dimension. For me musk would hold this title until a new innovation that would challenge Tesla and SpaceX emerges
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How reasonable is the long-term investment in Altcoins? on: October 19, 2021, 09:49:55 PM
We all know that long term investment in Bitcoin is reasonable but how reasonable do you think long term investment in Altcoins is?
I think long-term investment in Altcoins is full of risks but short time investment is more profitable. Do you agree with me?
It depends on the altcoin in question but generally crypto is full risk including Bitcoin due to its fluctuation in price but some crypto are worth more investing in than the others. Some crypto could be left on a long term investment while others could just be a short term investment. But deciding which investment plan to use for each coin depends on your own research and how good the project is alongside it's biggest investors, you could also consider it's ATHs then know how long you would like to hold but in all try eliminating greed

568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen with eth 2.0. releasing? Lower fee? on: October 17, 2021, 04:48:57 PM
There would be an upgrade because the  proof of stake model used in Ethereum2.0 would reduce the energy/power consumption rate experienced in the Proof of work of Ethereum and would also increase the rate of transactions which is enabled through sharding. This shards helps because the more transaction congest the higher the gas fee. All this has been the limitations of Ethereum

571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 14, 2021, 11:23:13 PM
There are less than two days left for the Lazio - Inter game. This might be the game that Inter will get their first ever loss this season in the Serie A. So far they won five games and drew with their competitors two times. Lazio are a very tough competitor and they beat Roma with a 3-2 result. Inter must be really really careful if they want to win. Because Lazio are playing much better at home. The safest bet options seems like both teams to score.
Lazio has been exciting this 2021/2022 season, and players like pedro who jose morinho threw-off the bus has reignited his Barcelona playing days, I think after inter milan in terms of winning by dominating their opponent lazio comes next for me in the Italian Seria A 2021/2022 season.
But I don't think they -Lazio- will give Inter milan their first lost this season, Lazio wants to play like inter milan this season and I think inter is better than then in that pattern of football so I predict loss for lazio.
I would rather rate Lazio before Milan but it's still not a guarantee for Lazio to cause Milan to concede their first loss any thing can still happen but for sure Lazio is a better team and I love the ease the use in making accurate passes and how fast the utilize any counter opportunity. This very match is one of its kind in Serie A with mixed reactions
572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: October 13, 2021, 03:01:13 PM
I agree with you but there's a difference between a football club playing games at the top level and using the chances they get to score goals. An example is Barca during the set of Puyol, Iniesta, Alves, Xavi, Messi etc when they played against Man United in the Champion League final. I don't remember the year.
Barca played a top class football but has a problem in scoring goals.
Concern the Sheriff club, I totally agree with you.
Wow I remember that game, really for that time Manchester United was very scary, and Barcelona was beginning to head towards a great future ahead, however, when we take that time into account, they really need to remember those glorious days, because right now they are losing everything. Real Madrid has maintained a respectable level, however the game with the Sheriff was clearly much inferior, and in football you cannot give opportunities, you cannot play so soft because you lose once and for all. I see Real Madrid as superior to Barcelona, I think the only toughest rival in the league is Atlético de Madrid.

One thing we can say for sure is that Real Madrid and Barcelona lost the legacy they had for decades now and it will take time for them to get back to the same level they once were. Barca and Real always had two or more iconic players at their squad every time. But now, that barely happens. We just saw Real lose to Sheriff with a full squad which is very unfortunate. Also, Barcelona is having a terrible season after Messi left. So, they can always take some motivation from their glorious past but it is sure that they are not the best clubs in Europe right now.
This is actually what you get when one man does majority of the finishes or if a particular formation is used too often so as to suit the style of play specifically for just one player alone. Real Madrid and Barcelona has lots of star players but limited their resources just to feature one star player too often and now they are struggling with meeting up the standard now those icons are gone. All this two teams need is a reformation. Get a new tactics and bounce back to the field
573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: October 13, 2021, 02:55:26 PM
There is no doubt that to make Newcastle a strong team and can compete in the title race also able to play in European competitions it will take time, for the relegation zone they must be able to past it, there are still dozens of games left where they can improve their position, if they are able to get an experienced coach, the new coach will definitely be able to determine what kind of players they will buy to start building a strong team.
Even with a new coach it would still take time to build a good team no matter how much experienced players the buy during the next transfer window. The target for Newcastle now is  to Escape relegation  getting a new coach might not guarantee them much success this season because the would still need new players as well but a good coach can guarantee the team a better finish this season
574  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your thoughts about Bitcoin in years to come on: October 13, 2021, 02:08:12 PM
I am new to the Bitcoin but I am having a conviction that Bitcoin is going to rule the world very soon seeing the may people are approaching Bitcoin every single day to invest in it. I may not be correct now but I know some day every nations of the world will dump the paper money and go for something better like the Blockchain world in running business  and everything.

Bitcoin might not be the general currency the world would use in the future because of its unstable and highly volatile nature and because bit doesn't have its own intrinsic value. But definitely a digital currency would emerge keeping aside the fiat currency that would serve as a world currency saving up the issues of exchange between currencies and making services across boarders more convenient
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Musk the boss behind SHIB? on: October 13, 2021, 02:03:21 PM
Ashwath Balakrishnan, an associate at crypto analytics firm Delphi Digital, said. “When markets go risk-on, the meme coins tend to benefit.” this is just the the behavior of crypto. Elon musk has little influence over Shib coin. The fact it has done above 400% in the past weeks is just a clear indication of investors with large amount of this coin causing a rise in value which is just the simple law of demand and supy causing the sudden pump.

576  Economy / Economics / Re: Basics of the Current Monetary System on: October 13, 2021, 01:42:26 PM
Everything begins when the government starts creating bonds. These bonds are essentially meant to be sold with an interest. It's like saying “Hey, give me some trillions of dollars and I'll pay you back in a decade plus an interest”. These bonds are our national debt, because we're the ones who're going to pay them in the future.
If this bonds are created by the government and issued out on sale to banks with the mind of getting interest in the future how come many countries still remain indebt? Or does this mean each country has their own form of creating this bonds that keeps them indebted?

Quote
The bond is then auctioned and the world's largest banks buy it to receive the sweet interests. The banks then swap those IOUs with the Federal Reserve's checks which brings money into existence. It looks like this:

Treasury's bonds → Banks → Federal Reserve's checks & money minting → Banks ($) → Treasury ($).

So what's actually happening is that the FED and the treasury swap IOUs (checks & bonds) with banks as middlemen. This process continues repeatedly enriching the banks and indebting the public by increasing the national debt.
This national debt been increased does it mean each citizen has a share to pay for the IOUs generated during the swap and if so does this include the charges that get deducted from bank accounts on different occasions?

Quote
When you're depositing money in a bank, you shouldn't imagine that they're keeping those money in a safe closet. Instead, they loan it to other people, so you should consider that you're actually loaning them your money.

Now what's fractional reserve lending... It's exactly what it says. The banks are allowed to reserve only a fraction of your deposit and do whatever they want with the rest of it. According to Modern Money Mechanics the reserve ratio is 10%, so let's use this simple percentage in our example.

Let's assume you deposit $1000. The bank can now take $900 of those and lend them to someone. It is reasonable to think that these $900 come out from your $1000. However, that's not the case. What really happens is that these $900 are created out of thin air on top of the $1000. This is how the money supply is extended. Bare with me.

The bank creates a check (a liability) saying that you own $1000 even though, they have only kept $100 of your deposited dollars. The other $900 have been lent. Once the borrower deposits their $900 hard cash in their bank, the bank will give them a liability of $900, but will also keep only 10% of it. The bank can also lend those $810 and keep only the $90.

NOTE: The liability is an IOU. It's nothing more than that, but it is considered currency since it's used as medium of exchange instead of cash.

If we continue this further we can notice that there's always some liability which is 10 times greater the assets you deposited and your bank is keeping.

Seriously, the cash remains the same. It's $1000. But, they liability constantly rises; it's $1000 + $900 + $810 + + + ... = $10000.

As a conclusion, the currency supply expands. Specifically, around 92-96% of all the currency supply is created from this very procedure and not from the government.
If this be the case then we should get some interei from the banks for generating resources the lend out to their clients other than charging their customers for various bank maintainance excercise the carry out in which most of them are over charged bills
577  Economy / Economics / Re: Will we see new ATH this year? on: October 12, 2021, 09:43:35 PM
We are almost close to seeing a new ATHs sooner than we think we are currently holding Bitcoin above $56k which have broken the $50k resistance zone forming a new support through the demand and supply chain. It's too obvious we would have Bitcoin go above $65k in no long a time but not too sure for a $100k speculation as many analyst claims
578  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reasons why I like bear market on: October 12, 2021, 08:02:48 PM
I know many don't want bear market 😅 we are so in love in the little

1. The best time to build a long term portfolio is in bear market
This will be only work for investors who take profit at every interval. Because if as an investor you just hold without having a share of your portfolio often when the bear market comes you would be taken unaware and what if you get faced with issues that would Warrant you to sell.
Bear market is the best time to build up portfolio for investors who have a strategy in anticipation for the bear.

Quote
While some don't want bear market some are already hoping it gets here so they can build another portfolio for coming btc halving
The very best time to cover up for all the opportunities missed although you can never get it at the very value it was during it's ATLs but one can still get better entry point for new portfolio
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It is what it is on: October 12, 2021, 07:49:16 PM
It's only does who sees crypto as ponzi that would be afraid of bear market. For those who understands the market embraces bear market because it's the best time to fill up portfolios buying more and holding even longer than expected.

For government ban on crypto this will always be. It's becoming a norm and investors are getting used to it already as more ban treat surfaces newer investors take advantage of the decline In price to join the market from where the missed out from. I would even be happy each time cryptos hits a new ATH the should be a strong news to ban crypto so it drops back for a new rally for a newer ATH
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If the internet is down in the future on: October 12, 2021, 07:21:22 PM
Is there any crypto project that can transacts without the internet?  I heard there was one two years ago I couldn't remember the name again but why isn't such project doing so well today?
Everything now operates over the internet and no crypto currency would transact without an internet because funds been transferred requires verification before it's been sent to the recipient and since each block is chained to the previous block of code a node would be required which can't be performed without internet.

Quote
If the internet goes down in future this type of project will be useful don't you think?
What could possibly make the internet go down and even if it does how will transactions get confirmed without an internet service
