5601  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I lost 1.4 bitcoin in a wallet so startign again on: October 25, 2019, 01:08:20 PM
Back then you probably didn't know bitcoin would be worth the amount it is today, but we are at that stage now, when bitcoin has grown so much that mining now costs even more than a fortune.
Coming back isn't so easy as you have to start from scratch again, but it also has its good side as you'll definitely not make the same mistakes you made in the past and you'll become a better trader.

You need to take security more seriously and always learn to keep a back up plan, never store passwords or seeds in one place, beware of scammers as they've "grown" alongside the bitcoin and also try to activate a 2fa, this are some of the basics you can incorporate, when you read more threads all around the forum, you'll also learn more.
5602  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BEWARE of Telegram Groups you have been added unwillingly!!!!! on: October 24, 2019, 03:29:41 PM
<snip>
This is quite the easiest way, I must say it's so annoying when one is added to random telegram groups without their consent, most times immediately such users are added, they get pm'd privately by one member of the group seeking to extort money from them.

I didn't know about the steps you just listed, but I'll just quickly go and implement it, I usually just report spam and leave, but this method is by far easier, and it would prevent others from adding one to their group, so it's more like a lasting solution.
5603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [What IF]Part 2 on: October 24, 2019, 02:14:17 PM
We're now on page 3 and yet I haven't seen any different thinking among you guys,... Kinda interesting if someone has a back up plan on this kind of scenario.
What sort of back up plan, left for me any loss still remains a loss, the only thing is that some losses are more painful than the other, when you're so close, it may be more painful than when probably so many games spoilt the ticket, but I do not think it can make someone quit, except if the person has been planning to do so all the while.

The bad thing about this sort of scenario is that it instigates people to bet more after the incident than they would normally do, or have done in the past. They get this feeling that they were so close, so they try to place more bets and increase the stake with the believe their "jackpot" is around the corner.
As long as this can be curtailed, then the person would just move on.
5604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: October 24, 2019, 01:38:14 PM
This can be also for their coach's fault.
After Barcelona Guardiola didn't do so much and didn't went so far on Champions with Bayern an City, maybe one semifinal in 8years.
This could be a fault of the manager no doubt, as pep Guardiola probably hasn't been superb in the UCL since he left camp nou, but another thing you must understand is that Manchester City are yet to make the champions league their "home", they cannot be fully called a Uefa champions league team.

City have been steadily growing in the UCL and you must also note that it takes time to climb up the ranks in the UCL and I do not think there is a better coach to take them to glory than pep Guardiola.
I hope if he doesn't do that this season, he'll till remain at the etihad and try again, they seem to be edging closer.
5605  Other / Meta / Re: fillippone Merit Source Application on: October 24, 2019, 10:45:11 AM
Your merits speaks for you, you're a legendary member by merit, but still hindered by activity, it is enough to tell about how good a poster you actually are, and enough criteria to qualify you to be a merit source.

I have come across your posts most times on the forum and I must say they are more often than not very good.
I love it when one applies to be a merit source, it shows dedication and zeal to make the forum grow, and to rank others through that process. I hope theymos acts on this, even if not now, later.
5606  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Leaving detailed instructions of recovery for family members in case of death on: October 24, 2019, 10:14:18 AM
For a young man like myself, still at the University and I've acquired quite some funds through cryptocurrency, my guardians have absolutely no clue what bitcoin or cryptocurrency is, not even with the slightest inkling, for me it becomes more difficult to decide who to leave my funds or details of it with. Do I try to teach them about it, or do I resort to briefing my brothers about it.

I'll love to leave my funds with my kids, but as of now I do not have any, it becomes somewhat of a delima to me if something happens to me right now. So do I hand over details of my coins to my brothers for now, and if I eventually make it to have kids, how do i then retrieve such Information and make sure it is solely with just my kids?
5607  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some advice/help for a newbie on: October 24, 2019, 04:43:54 AM
From what you said I can understand the reason for your enthusiasm and zeal towards this alt, you're hoping it does go smooth and make you "rich". I think probably almost everyone in this forum has gone through a phase like that, and majority of them didn't end well, just like me.

I'm not trying to be the bearer of evil/bad news, but if I were you I'll reduce my optimism and just watch what happens, as a matter of fact, if I were you I would not invest in the coin.
They listing on an exchange that's known for previous scams, is one of the ominous signs, forget about the so called "good" whitepaper and team, it just doesn't prove anything.
5608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Returning to crypto since the bubble. How to split BCH? on: October 22, 2019, 06:49:12 AM
Also watch out for the people who will PM you now to offer to do it for a 10% fee. A lot of my friends got this email and they actually used the service and lost all those so-called FREE coins.
This isn't unusual in any way, once they are able to detect or are sure one is not too knowledgeable on the network/system and what to do, they make such users their primary target, no doubt op may get one or two private messages on this, but right now it's up to him to fall for it.

You must remember that "if you're not solely in possession of your private keys, then the coins isn't yours", this is not just a catchphrase we say here every now and then, it's the fact.
You'll be better of not splitting your coins, than losing them all for sure  Grin
5609  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaigns causing lifeless posts in Gambling section on: October 22, 2019, 02:28:52 AM
I do not even think it's about being "forced" to post in a certain section, I would blame the fact that some users simply do not want to engage in the conversation, especially those which had been made prior to the time they want to post theirs, they rather would prefer to hurriedly make their post and go over to the next thread.

I love football, and I'm an active gambler and also active in that section, I find it very easy to engage in conversations on those sort of threads in the gambling section, I avoid topics that are not related to "football" in the gambling section, I know I might make a huge blunder if I comment on such topics.
Users should only make posts in sections thats comfortable for them, and on the ones they know they truly can contribute to the discussion.
5610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 22, 2019, 01:45:36 AM
maybe with this defeat will make Emeryville start playing Ozil once again, God knows that they really need a player like him at this moment in time.
They are surely better of without mesut Ozil, he definitely is not the cause of their problems neither is he the solution, Ozil is filled with talents but he has failed to showcase them in Arsenal, few flashes here and there, but that's been as good as he has come, he is an inconsistent player.

Arsenal need to go into the transfer market this January and get players who are willing to give all they have for their team, this they must do if they want to finish in the top four, the competition is getting tougher, so must the teams.
5611  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let's stand against Bounty Scammer. on: October 22, 2019, 12:46:13 AM
Im thinking of not allowing newbies or low rank members to create bounty threads, only the ones who are trusted enough from Full member and above can create threads and also not allowing newbies to bounty section because they are one who are creating spams and joining scam bounties they need to learn first how to make a research before joining bounty and at-least reached to Jr member rank to be able to join.
Newbies cannot join signature campaigns, one must obtain at least one merit to be able to move up to the next rank, and I think Jr member is the minimum rank for ICO bounties, not newbie.
I do not even think this is a "rank" issue, anyone can create spam and also be a scammer, we are all aware of the dangers ico bounties possess irrespective of who creates the bounty thread or not.

The thing is sticking with the BTC campaigns so one doesn't waste his or her time, there are many established forum users that run BTC campaigns and haven't had any dent on their reputation, that's the sort of campaign one should be on, anything short of that should be avoided.
5612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 21, 2019, 08:51:55 PM
So everyone is predicting that Arsenal will score two goals today, lets see and it will be another fun if they end up in a draw  Cheesy. They never faced each other for a very long time and the last time they played was in 2006 and if everyone is predicting two goals i am expecting Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to score a goal.
Bad predictions, Arsenal couldn't even get a single goal, Arsenal is not a team I usually bet with, they are simply untrustworthy and erratic, no consistency and no real purpose to win anything, it's obvious they are not in the title race and this defeat further strengthens that statement.

I went with Sheffield to win or draw and I've got my prediction correct for tonight, I knew that with the way Sheffield united play, they'll have something up their sleeve in this game and they did.
5613  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Qualities worth developing as a crypto enthusiast (Investor). on: October 21, 2019, 05:13:05 PM
Number 5 is probably one of the most necessary quality to imbibe, for example it would be foolish if I hear that scammers are everywhere in the network, and I fall for a cheap ponzi scam. Learning from the experiences of others have helped shape me in here, I've learnt of past experiences that have burnt some other users and I've also used the positives to improve myself.

Every newbie should learn, most especially through experiences of others, it should be the apogee of their interest, if one learns thoroughly all that is ncorporated within the network then in the end they'll surely be grateful they did.
5614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: October 21, 2019, 04:32:14 PM
I think the match between PSG vs Club Brugge will be a fierce match, where PSG is currently still not defeated and Club Brugge will try to beat PSG by raising their points.
This match would be anything but fierce, I do not see club Brugge putting up that much of a fight in this encounter, CB are a decent side, but PSG in my opinion would be too much of a test to them, I see PSG winning this one by 3 goals to one.
Man Cuty vs Atalanta
Manchester City would be making it three out of three in this one, I think pep guardiola would be putting so much attention on the Uefa champions league this season, he has an obligation to try and bring it to their etihad and I think they'll make a big statement if they qualify with 100% record in the group stages.
5615  Other / Meta / Re: Why don't you stop SPAMMERS yourself, admins? #RaiseYourVoice on: October 20, 2019, 11:52:17 AM
How do we know the exact board the spammers are spamming in, this would be way too difficult, keeping track of a poster to know the board they spam in, it's far much easier to report their spam posts and when it gets out of hand, get them nuked or temporary banned.
Rather than limiting users from posting in a particular board like gambling, would it not be easier to just disable the signature there?
What if the spammer isn't on a signature, not all spammers are on signature campaigns, the current "reporting of spam posts to the moderator" is working quite well in my opinion, you must also accept the fact that no method would provide an absolute solution.
5616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 20, 2019, 11:34:26 AM
Liverpool to win the match easily and i am expecting over 2.5 goals in this match.
Liverpool aren't going to win the match easily and I do not expect to see three goals in this match, most times in this sort of big games, the teams are rather too careful trying to avoid making a mistake than trying to attack, this most times leads to a boring game with few goals.

I put this one at a draw, 1-1, I may actually be saying this because I'm a city fan and that's exactly how I want it to go, so do not be hard on me.  Grin
5617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 20, 2019, 05:46:03 AM
Another crazy Bundesliga round with many surprising results - I think almost nobody won, except the bookies, they always win though. Cheesy Bayern, Leipzig drawing, Werder drawing, Dortmund with a narrow 1-0 win... Lets see how tommorows games will go
Lol, the bundesliga went crazy yesterday, it would be difficult for anyone to win against the bookies yesterday, though that's how it is every weekend.
The German league is getting weirder every season, and tougher I must add, I just hope Bayern Munich don't win it this season.

I don't know how possible that is, but I'm tired of seeing Bayern with the title at the end of every season, I love competition in league football, it makes the league beautiful to watch.
5618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 20, 2019, 03:30:45 AM
Emre Can
Mandzukic
Is this the sort of players united are hoping to bring in to change their fortunes to good, if it is then I suggest they have a rethink, this players are well above their peak and really should not be a target for united, they need young and very good players who are making waves in the football world right now.

As for Allegri coming to Manchester United in January, that's the only one that looks like a good deal, Solskjaer is not an established manager and to throw all this weight on his shoulder was a bad choice by united, he may indeed be relieved if it's taken off him.
5619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 20, 2019, 02:33:46 AM
Don't be so sure in easy Liverpool win.
So many people  are already giving the victory to Liverpool, but they must understand that it's after 90 minutes that the victor would be decided.
True, United are in one of their worst forms ever, but they have quite a rivalry with Liverpool and I expect that to spur them on today, I'm not saying united would win the match, what I'm saying is Liverpool can also drop points today, it's very possible.

Manchester City would need their crosstown rivals to do them a favor today and beat Liverpool, it's crazy that city fans could actually be cheering for united today. Grin
5620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: October 19, 2019, 08:21:49 PM
On the other hand, Real should have an easy victory tonight. Thus my parlay has a multiplier of over 2 so that meets my criteria  Wink
Sorry mate, things aren't actually going that way as it stands now, though there is still time for Madrid to change things, but with this "new" Madrid we have come to be accustomed with, I wouldn't be surprised if they take zero point away from this game.

Edit: if real can't win games such as this, then I wonder if they can win the league, every top team in the league is finding their feet at this time, losing yours like Madrid is doing wouldn't do them any good, they need to get their winning mentality back.
