I don't think they support SOPA...

That section of the code starts with "WARNING: Editing the below can cause large security holes in your forum," so a lot of testing would be necessary to make sure that these changes are safe. (I don't have a test forum set up, so I can't really test it.) It also tries to detect standalone bitcoin addresses and turn them into links.
I don't like this behavior, especially since a single URI specification hasn't been decided on yet (AFAIK).

I am upset they removed my post which asked about this in a more polite manner and would like an explanation.
MtGox can't remove your posts on this forum, and I don't have any record of posts like that being deleted.

Here's part of eMule that is running: C:\Users\Public\AppData\eMuleMorphXT\conime.exe I don't see anything else wrong. Ares and Shareaza aren't running.

You can also just disable JavaScript.

I'm kind of new at using Bitcoind, but this should work, no?
No. There's no way to do it with the unmodified client.

SSL is not the be all and end all. Handshakes can be captured and faked quite easily. Spoofing mac addresses is also very easy.

Just curious theymos, what is your take on what was going on with all the charts when it was cycling in a loop between 6 and 7? After about 25 minutes those cycles were erased and the market sat at 6 until orders that were placed during the swings on the charts were executed. Anything is possible and I have never seen anything like what happened today.
I wasn't watching it, but it just sounds like bots were behaving strangely and maybe some MtGox slowness made it worse. Everything seems to be more or less back to normal now, so I'm not concerned.

MtGox's HTTPS will prevent any MITM attack unless the attacker compromises a CA or something.

Regardless of the actual importance of the law, taking drastic action makes the project seem unstable and unprofessional.
I guess defeating SOPA is good, but I find it annoying that people are putting so much effort into this one law when there are thousands of terrible laws already in existence and this style of government will inevitably continue to create more terrible laws.

I think the "ignore thread" mod of smf can be used for roughly the same purpose, but Theymos isn't willing to do any modifications before changing the whole thing.
I would install an "ignore thread" mod if I could, but I investigated this before and the existing mods don't work or are unsuitable for some other reason.

This looks like a boring series that I will probably never watch again, though I liked their Bitcoin coverage. My favorite part was the implication that Bitcoin is something that all young people are familiar with. Like it's an integral part of Internet culture. Not really true yet, but I like the idea.
The real Satoshi story is way more interesting than the story in the show, though.

Why not allow all the implementations to coexist for a while? Different miners/pools can support whatever implementations they want. When we are ready to transition to the proven method, we vote against the other methods by requiring a higher fee for those types of transactions, or not mining them at all. Basically, I think we should let the market decide. If one method bloats the chain, require higher fees. If one method introduces a security issue, exclude it.
You don't understand the proposals. Anyone "testing it out" risks ending up on a separate network.
