I don't want to blame anyone for anything but why was the URL, I put in my signature, deleted? I'm not aware of any rules, which forbid ads and I still see many people here who link to several other websites.

Links are automatically removed if you have less than 10 posts, and images are automatically removed if you have less than 50.
6562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unspent coins on: June 13, 2011, 09:47:13 AM
There's 47968 unspent generations right now.

Probably I'll make a page on Bitcoin Block Explorer where you can get this info.
6563  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: $man bitcoind ? on: June 13, 2011, 09:29:18 AM
This one is a bit outdated:

dm-crypt is probably available on many liveCDs. It comes with the kernel.
6565  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions on: June 13, 2011, 07:27:50 AM
How this will work for national sections ? Should a newbie do five posts into english newbie section in order to write into national section?

The local forums are exempt from the restrictions.
6566  Other / Meta / Re: Can't change my password when logged on via HTTPS on: June 13, 2011, 06:09:48 AM
There were unrelated database problems earlier.
6567  Other / Meta / Re: Moderation Team on: June 13, 2011, 05:48:11 AM
The posts can be split if you can identify them from the mess. The post titles were unfortunately also changed, so that will be difficult.

Merging the topics was a really bad idea (since it created a mess and the posts then couldn't be recovered easily), but most of the topics were repeat complaints. Removing them all ended up being a positive thing, IMO.
6568  Other / Meta / Re: Why do some pools get pinned and others don't? on: June 13, 2011, 03:05:42 AM
Unstickied and sorted.

I don't think it was necessary a bad idea. He did it before I created the subcategories. Having all the major options stickied seems helpful to me. (I don't read the mining section, though.)

Thanks for reporting it.
6570  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin forum theme that matches the front page? [Bounty: .25 BTC] on: June 13, 2011, 01:47:10 AM

If you could add this one, my eyes would be very grateful.

Added.

(Looks terrible to me, though...)

Yeah, try resetting your password. That might fix it even if it's something else.
6572  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin forum theme that matches the front page? [Bounty: .25 BTC] on: June 12, 2011, 09:54:07 PM
They are switchable in the settings. I'll add any theme people want to the selectable ones.
6573  Other / Meta / Re: Moderation Team on: June 12, 2011, 09:23:14 PM
No, I posted some of the ONLY "news" about a critical service down for 4 hours. Sorry "rumors" affect the market, but they need to be handled. Sorry if that "rumor" annoyed people unprepared for a possible outcome.

Guess they couldn't handle it. BTW your PM said it shouldn't be posted out of thread. You deleted the thread to. No discussion about anything.

Why not let the community judge...

The thread is right here:

6574  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which miner came first? on: June 12, 2011, 09:21:22 PM
It was removed in 0.3.22.

The first GPU miner was by ArtForz, but it was private. I think the first public GPU miner was by puddinpop.
6575  Other / Meta / Re: Moderation Team on: June 12, 2011, 09:16:41 PM
Guidelines: Don't annoy people. Use common sense. Don't talk just about the forum constantly -- this is a forum about Bitcoin, not a forum about the Bitcoin Forum. Post quality material. Don't troll.

Arbitration: PM me.

I don't see any problem with accepting "bribes" for whitelist status as long as the whitelisted person doesn't then start posting garbage.

I just had a thread deleted, along with various posts about a relative topic and subject.

Just saying...

You were posting rumors and annoying people.

Created.

Is your password really long? I seem to remember there being a bug with changing super long passwords.
6579  Other / Meta / Re: Signature limits. on: June 12, 2011, 08:46:55 PM
what's the number of posts required to enable sigs - I just spent a day writing a signature generator for bitcoins.lc hash rate and would like to put it as my sig (once I iron out a few issues)

Links require 10 posts and images 50.

The high image requirement is due mostly to the threat of users who embed "images" that are actually referral links, spreading their referral cookies to everyone.

Honestly I wouldn't frequent a forum with signatures unless the people in it talked about Bitcoin nonstop. Signatures are awful. Can there be a way to not see them?

You can disable the display of signatures in your profile settings.
6580  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin forum theme that matches the front page? [Bounty: .25 BTC] on: June 12, 2011, 08:43:05 PM
I like this theme. It's minimalistic.

(It was also heavily modified by Satoshi, so it would be nice to keep it for historical reasons.)
