5642  Local / Primeros pasos y ayuda / Re: Las distintas estafas on: March 11, 2018, 10:30:40 PM

5647  Other / Meta / Re: Lets Make a new board/section for "Merit Discussion" on: March 11, 2018, 02:18:15 PM
I am tired of seeing shitposting pajeets coming to the "Meta" section who are making new threads every hour about the merit system and then shitposting through it trying to ass-lick the merit system and failing horribly at kissing the feet of the Merit sources.

I know these people have no life because even after introduction in late January these people still cant understand what merit is and how its earned and what will happen if they attempt to beg for merits.

So lets face it. We need a separate board, possibly under "Other" which will be devoted to discussions regarding merit, theymos's official post about merit will be pinned there. All merit related queries will be posted there and all "Rank-up Merit challenges" and such threads will be posted there.

This section will be devoid of all signatures as well Grin

Now, to the shitposting pajeets who make up 99% of the forum population (If that is a population at all), Please please dont derail the thread saying "Merit is good and all".

Perhaps the merit is bad and merit has to change will eventually fade. I think it is too early for this.

Just one thing, I wouldn´t like to standardise a racial insult on the forum. Not that I am politically correct, but it just doesn´t feel right. Merit beggars or merit-whining could probably be enough.

5648  Other / Meta / Re: sMerit Review exel file to find cheaters with all clickable links! on: March 11, 2018, 01:46:38 AM
I'm wondering if anybody has come up with a good distinction between suspicious merit and stupid merit? Besides intention, which we cannot tell lest ye be an oracle. It seems that we may be unduly punishing certain uninformed users, which seems a bit harsh if that is the case. We must understand that newbies, uninformed users and regular low-ranking users are going to merit posts that aren't spectacular. There has been obvious abuse of merit that we have tracked down and taken care of, but I just don't want us to get over zealous and end up throwing out the baby with the bath water. Is their foolish use of their own merit worth punishment? Obviously circles of merit abuse are actionable, but where is the line and what is the most "innocent" or "questionable" case in which someone has been punished for merit abuse?

What criteria are you using to qualify these as suspicious, cheater and fine? Either way, useful sheet for multiple reasons. I just hope my concern is not misunderstood of unheeded.

Some cases are very clear, like senior members / full members sending 20 to user X and then getting 10 back for a crappy post.

If the merit exchange is less than 2 points... I would just let it go. Else, just use good judgement.

Always take into account that once the initial smerit is depleted, even the farmers will need to do good posting to rank up, and that is almost here judging from the graphs that show merit awards declining asymptotically towards a certain value that can be managed by Theymos by creating sources or giving them more merit.
5649  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Stat from theymos data on: March 11, 2018, 01:43:33 AM
I create these charts based on the post of theymos seeking for further analysis of data.

....

I hope this post helps, comments and suggestion are very more welcome.

Thank you. As the time passes the initial sMerits are given causing a "Big Bang" and now things are getting into cruise mode. All new merit comes from sources and Theymos will be able to regulate the issuance rate and validate the effects. My guess is that in 3 or 6 months the system will undergo its first review and some decisions will be made, even if the decision is just continuing.

The system has also had the side effect of exposing a few farms out there.
5650  Other / Meta / Re: [Poll] What do you think of the forum's usage of reCaptcha? on: March 11, 2018, 01:33:08 AM
I probably won't make changes in the near future, but I've been thinking about the captcha issue, and I wonder what people think about reCaptcha.

Where reCaptcha is used now, something is required, and AFAIK all other captcha services can be OCRed and are therefore useless. End-users often like SolveMedia, but those seem really easy to OCR. I actually really like the image classification approach on a theoretical level, though I hate relying on NSA-lite Google, and occasionally on Tor they throw you into some insane black hole of difficulty (though you can change your Tor exit to fix that).

For me it is slow to load and sometimes asks two or three times ... Also it is quite boring... Instead of traffic signs and roads and cars it could be about telling if it is a character from Star Trek or Star Wars ... or if it is a men´s or a woman´s legs or ...

Seriously, it is slow, but I don´t know if there is anything out there that offers the same level of safety and is faster.
5651  Other / Meta / Re: Here is the quality of posts after merit system on: March 11, 2018, 01:02:47 AM
Was this the purpose of Merit system ? Note that these are not newbies making these posts.

The merit system does allow mediocre posting or campaign quota filling, you simply don´t get rewarded for it. The system is also complemented with Serious Discussion and Ivory Tower sections in which no signatures nor adds can be used. If you are worried about the quality, go there and find some. If you are worried about ranking up, do some quality posting.

Some practical tips:

Notice that you do not ALWAYS need to do great posts. You can do normal posts and quality post, the forum is alright with that AFAIK (for the moment). Just avoid crap in its purest expression because that may have consequences.

Obviously it is much much harder than a merit source reads the 10344th response to the thread "are alt-coins good or bad?" than the fourth original and documented answer to a good thread on bitcoin core code improvements or similar high level topic.

I agree that nobody should be insulted for asking, just make sure that you ask the right things and ignore bullying. Good luck.
5652  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit?? on: March 10, 2018, 11:31:55 PM
Hello guys, how can I give a merit?? Help me.

You can´t. You are a newby and don´t have any "smerit" to give away. Once you earn at least 2 merit for your contributions to the forum you will be able to give 1 merit point to someone else. Read the original post by the forum admin, Theymos to understand the system, it is on the Meta section of the forum.
5653  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Kraken is Also a Wallet? on: March 10, 2018, 11:27:44 PM
The exchanges allow you to store many cryptos, so you could potentially use them as wallets (read previous posts for safety reasons not to do so). But these would be very expensive wallets as they charge a withdrawal fee that can be high for small amounts (i.e. 5 to 10 USD).

If you are in a hurry, don´t want to go into technical details or learn, don´t trust web wallets and you really need something setup quickly... I guess you could use an exchange.

5656  Local / Tokens (Español) / Re: ✳️[PREICO][ANN]Xmoneta✳️APP TODO EN UNO para mensajes sociales y negocios✳ on: March 10, 2018, 11:56:59 AM
5657  Other / Serious discussion / Re: ICO unethical behaviours - abusing your bounty hunters - name & shame on: March 09, 2018, 11:01:26 PM
Most ICO are scam or asshole anyway. They would give you free token and they claim the token value you get is high, but you're required to give personal information or do tasks which could give away your personal information. I can't trust them to keep the user's personal information safe.
I think something like this should be treated as scam or scam-exit attempt or at least listed as unproffesional action.

... and that is the point of this thread exactly.

5659  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MERIT unfair? on: March 09, 2018, 10:06:20 PM
Hi Guys,

This is to share my thoughts on this matter.
1. Merit is to promote quality post.
    a. I agree. Post is reviewed for it to be counted as an Activity? why add an additional Merit?
a1. Unfair to the newbie that came to this forum for knowledge and possible earn. Those guys who have been earlier were not required to have this to ranked up.

First, merit is only to rank up and only useful in economic terms for campaigns. If you are not in for money is just a badge that is better if is difficult to get.

Now, if you are here to make profit, know that this forum´s reputation was built by many people that were here before you (and before me indeed) that built something from nothing, including "Satoshi", who was active for years if I am not wrong. So, no it is not unfair that they have a privilege over the people that arrived later. You can´t pretend to build an user rank just by posting crap and have the same status because THAT would definitely not be fair.

What they are asking from you is to contribute to further enhance the reputation of the forum by creating the type of content that made it what it is today. They are giving you that opportunity, so grab it.

In case you still don´t understand, go to any of the google early investors or even the founders and ask them why are you not a millionaire and that you feel frustrated about it. Check out what opportunity will these people give you.
