5641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it bad to store 24 words from Ledger hardware wallet in password manager? on: April 09, 2020, 09:19:35 PM
It is not safe if you are using KeePass on online mode not on offline/airgap PC this should be offline forever to keep your seed safe in your PC.
Any documents or important backups like 24-word seed are always safe to store on the PC which is completely offline(Never connected to the internet).

Since this is related to hardware wallet are you planning to use the ledger hardware wallet on the PC with ledger live? It needs the internet so if you use your PC online it is not safe to save the "24-word seed" on the KeePass even this software is offline. We don't know exactly if this password manager is not sending any data when the PC is connected to the internet.

Unless if you are a programmer and you can verify that it is running completely offline and not sending any data from KeePass to internet when the PC is online. But for us who doesn't know if KeePass is safe while connected to the internet. We will always choose to save it to paper wallets instead or save somewhere safe than KeePass.
5642  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New Antminer T17 issues on: April 09, 2020, 12:00:07 AM
Did you manage to find any fix to this issue? One of my T17+ machines is acting the same. I get the same info in log, 1-2 hours of mining one of boards stops hashing. After a reboot it works fine for few hours then issue repeats.

Have you tried the other solution above? If you confirmed that the PSU is good then I would like to suggest moving the miner on the other outlets or plug the miner directly to the wall outlet then test it again.

Because sometimes extensions can't handle high wattage and can't give enough power to the miner.
5643  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Locating dead hashboard on S17/T17 on: April 08, 2020, 11:38:03 PM
Access the miner through WebGUI then go to miner's status tab and then under the "Antminer" you can see the list of hashboard with "chain#" as the image below.

https://support.bitmain.com/hc/article_attachments/360020752313/mceclip0.png

As a sample on the image above it has Chain# 6,7 and 8 so if the chain# 7 is gone then the middle hashboard is the dead hashboard.

Or follow the guide on testing the hashboard one by one from here Test hash board one by one. So that you can find which one is dead or not.
5644  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: android 3.3.8 problem on: April 08, 2020, 11:23:01 PM
I can see the default_wallet in the list of wallets.

Since you have the list of wallets maybe the original wallet is under your "list of wallets" so find the other wallet with the same public address and shouldn't be "a watch-only wallet".

Because like the above said there is no way to get the private key of "watch-only wallet".

If you found the original wallet which is not a watch-only wallet you can export the private key on the settings.
Or if you have a backup seed phrase you can use it to recover the wallet.
5645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Where's the Bitcoin address directory gone ? on: April 08, 2020, 07:07:02 PM
There is an old thread here on the forum I found while searching on Google and it includes a script or code where you can use to brute force the missing character.

You can try it and compile it with your own.

Check this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1624496.0

About the default directory, if you are using Windows OS check this below.
Code:
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application data\Bitcoin (XP)

C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin (Vista and 7)

For Linux or mac check this wiki from here https://en.bitcoinwiki.org/wiki/Data_directory

If you can't find the directory well, your final bet is to brute-force the private key.

My god the fees were incredibly high Sad

Check the Coinbase API I don't think if how much the sending fee but according to their API you can send it free on off-blockchain.
Look at their API from here https://developers.coinbase.com/api/v2#send-money

They only have limited coins supported but this is the only safe wallet with API.
The only problem with this you don't have full control of your wallet and it will need a KYC verification.

Why not let them know(Your users) to switch on the Coinbase wallet?
5647  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unverified transaction fron Electrum wallet on: April 07, 2020, 10:30:46 PM
No, I never heard of this application and did not install it on the phone. I am from Russia, sometimes new trends go up to us sometimes)
How about Guard Provider app or any anti-virus pre-installed on your phone?

Read this article below.
- Xiaomi phones came with security flaw preinstalled

Since before I don't trust any Chinese phones because there are lots of security vulnerabilities like Xiaomi phones.
If you know well that you downloaded it from trusted sources the only thing that I suspected is the preinstalled apps from your phone(Like the Guard app mention from the article.).

I would like to add this and I think these sources below will be your best source to learn about Blockchain developing.
There are many different programming languages inside including "Buiding your DIY Blockchain" which is a good start to learn.

- https://github.com/Xel/Blockchain-stuff

Other links are already posted above.

I'm not a developer but I like to collect useful stuff like the links above.

The only thing that I'd like to suggest is to learn basic first before you go into deep/advanced development.

It's not actually cheap the price of this times 4 of Antminer S9 SE 16th/s so you can get more hashrate on SE miner (64Th/s in total) compared to love core a1 with 24th/s only.

Honestly, this kind of miner doesn't have its own support it is imitated version of Cheetah a1 miner and Aisen A1 25T.
5650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin to Electrum... Fail? on: April 05, 2020, 11:33:09 PM
Try installing Electrum in your mobile wallet to see if the connection in your computer is the problem. The Bitcoin you have purchased in LocalBitcoin should reflect if your pc has connection problem but if it is not try switching your phone from using your WIFI connection to your mobile data and maybe that will solve the issue. Can you also provide the address you have used for us to see if there is an existing TX id for your transaction with LocalBitcoin?

Additional for this if it's confirmed that the problem is under your internet connection this might be a DNS issue like what I experienced before you might not receive any data from servers but the Electrum itself shows connected.
It is like Electrum can submit data but blocked on receiving data from the server that is why it is shown as connected and not syncing properly.

Try to change your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 then reopen the Electrum wallet to test.
5651  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unverified transaction fron Electrum wallet on: April 05, 2020, 11:19:21 PM
How did you create your wallet from Electrum mobile? If someone created it for you he might be the one who stole your Bitcoin. Or if the seed backup is created from other wallets like Bitpay?

If not, then there might be a keylogger in your device. Actually Xiaomi Phones is not secured as Samsung with Knox.

A similar case and address can be found below the same as hosseinimr93 posted above.
- [uncensored-r/Bitcoin] Bitpay wallet hacked - what went wrong?

That's why I suspected that this address is controlled by Bitpay? I'm not sure but if your seed backup is created from Bitpay and imported it to Electrum mobile... Maybe?

Not sure if I can help you find job, ~snip~

Actually he is not looking for a job the whole point of this thread is to get a link(For SEO) from a high authority website to get rank on the SERP.

He is offering a blog post for free which is a common way to have backlinks from high authority sites free. It is called "guest posting" its common term on SEO and once it's publish it will help the website rank up on the SERP and increase traffic.

If you are a newbie and you want to learn about mining much better read the sticky thread on this section. Which I think will help you to start your journey on mining.

Here look at these threads below just added some useful threads to learn.
- First time/Small miner reference for getting started.
- Current List of Competitive Hardware - January 2020
- Why all miners need to mine on a pool that pays them the tx fees.
5654  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: T17 will not hold hashrate on: April 04, 2020, 11:21:20 PM
Im sorry but, I don't know what a GUI is nor how to locate it... Ive tried searching through everything and have not found it.

I think I have heat issues. I can run at night but about 10AM they (2 miners) go down.

That's the weird thing if you don't know how to access the WebGUI like the above said you can access it through the browser.

How did you setup the miner(adding Pool server)? you can find the kernel logs under that page on different tabs.

Here's the sample Web GUI below

I'll make it big for you. As you can see in the image the whole thing is a Web GUI. You can find the kernel logs on the other tab between the upgrade and monitor tab.

If you are in kernel logs you can see what philipma1957 posted above copy them and post it here with "insert code" or paste it to pastebin.com and post the URL here.

And some images or screenshot of your Web Gui from the miner status tab and post it here. So that we can troubleshoot what exactly the issue of your miner.
5655  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is Exodus a good wallet? on: April 03, 2020, 11:18:48 PM
Is exodus a good choice?
 or does it require verification?

Much better read these threads below then decide if you still want to use it or not.

- EXODUS scam or trusted wallet ?
- Is Exodus a safe desktop wallet alternative?
- What if Exodus wallet exit Scam?
- All Crypto assets stolen from Exodus - Anything I can do?

For me, this wallet is good but the security will still be depending on how you protect your wallet.
This is not the best wallet for multi-crypto so if you are looking for a multi-crypto wallet I suggest you switch to Coinomi wallet(Mobile version).

But if your plan is to use the wallet only for Bitcoin then the Electrum wallet as suggested above is the best option.
5656  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: BTC transfer from Electrum to Electrum wallet into unexpected wallet on: April 03, 2020, 10:47:52 PM
Sending from a electrum 3.38 2fa to 3.38 normal.

Are you sure about the version of Electrum you use? 3.38?

Check your Electrum version first and post it here because if it is 3.38 version you are using a fake Electrum wallet.

Does it seem someone here has the same issue(Related case) with the same version 3.38 from here?
So, I think you are using 3.38 not a 3.3.8 am I right? If yes, then your Bitcoins are gone and there's no way to recover it.
5657  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: aisen A1 have problem hashrate on: April 03, 2020, 12:07:03 AM
It seems that their website is currently suspended according to their website "aisenminer.top"

Can you try to mine on other pool it might be a pool issue

Check this list below
- https://miningpoolstats.stream/bitcoin

Or switch to https://viabtc.com pool
5658  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Suspicious Bitcoin escrow site on: April 02, 2020, 11:52:00 PM
For me, I wouldn't trust an online service which is pretty new they are still on the developing stage before they publish it on the public.
Every business online should have 6 months or 8 months old before they publicly publish it

So for me, it's suspicious I can't trust a website which is a month old website. I'm sure he owns the website and attempting to scam you.

I suggest you stay away on that escrow service. If it is related to bitcoin much better hire high trusted escrow members here on the forum.

You can use this list below
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0

It's an updated list of escrow you can use here on the forum.
5659  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Where are the cryptos on my Ledger wallet gone? on: April 02, 2020, 11:06:02 PM
But I mean, these 24 words they can only restore my Ledger device, right?
But would it also restore all 4 wallets that are on the device?

So what is the best (and also safest) step-by-step way to deal with it from now?

I think if you didn't use the same pin/password when restoring your seed phrase it won't recover your old wallet.
So make sure to use the same pin/password to your ledger wallet.

You can follow the step by step guide from here "Restore from recovery phrase"
