is there an implementation of Bitcoin Core where I can only download the most recent 2GB of blocks?
Nope. The idea is to trust nobody, hence you (your local wallet software) will verify/validate the whole blockchain to ensure the 2 GB you keep is correct / not tampered. Furthermore, the pruned blockchain contains data relevant to your wallet, hence other nodes cannot really give you "filtered" data, since they don't know your addresses. If no such software exists I will build it from scratch. I am currently reading Programming Bitcoin by Jimmy Song.
I suggest you read more first. Also maybe what you want is a SPV wallet.

wait a couple days
This would basically mean that the price changes will slow down again. It's too difficult and risky to make such predictions, I don't believe that yours will be accurate. I am sure that the mempool will clear up again, but I surely won't risk telling how long will take until that'll happen, especially now when the price is expected to go towards new ATH.

Interestingly it doesn't look in official numbers at least that Romania and Bulgaria are experiencing this year the highest inflation rates, although I'm not sure how good how accurate those numbers reported by each country are so for once you might escape this
They always find ways to make the numbers look good. Each and every government always find some things to not be declared until the next government takes it over. The inflation is visible at the supermarket, you know... much better than from the official numbers. And with electricity, methane, petrol all getting way more expensive, a new avalanche of price increases is just starting. However, I was talking "historically", since unlike other countries, here there's always something that goes wrong (in the ways the money is spent and the inflation grows).

In rest nimic nou.

Well, for some of us the pandemic is nearly over, but looking at the numbers of the furious two (Romania and Bulgaria) I don't understand why always those two must be special when it comes to statistics, good or bad, at least one of those countries must be in a league of its own compared to the rest of the EU. Not that it's your fault or anything like that, but every single time something happens extreme examples from both the top and the bottom show how fractured this union still is, even after so many years, and it's not something that looks to be fixed anytime soon. Although it's a bit off-topic, I know too well what you mean. Sadly. The gap between educated and uneducated is too wide. Too many people are left without information or with mostly fake news, people who rely on the priest and maybe the mayor for "educated news". Too many others, with access to news and education think that they know better..., going from attempting shortcuts (in this case even black market covid certificates) to believing all the conspiracy theories, many of them handed over generously by main television channels too... I don't want to fill pages with everything. But imho this stands for basically the whole Balkans area (I hope I'm wrong!!), so... the group may increase, especially as the politicians (Europeans and Romanians alike) don't know nor care much of how to handle this. Maybe the... particularities... of my country are the reasons I see so well all the mechanics behind the (ever) increasing inflation

penny[demand?localAfellowship9railroad+happen I find this a rather unnecessary over-complication. One may easily forget this rule in 10 years. I think that's more important the number of words. I think that it could be more useful if not all are actual real words, but, again, it's better to not over-complicate the things. Overall, I agree pretty much with Both are good for security. Comparing them is like comparing the volumes of water in the Pacific (707.5 million km3 of water) and Atlantic (323 million km3 of water) oceans. Atlantic has less water that Pacific but it doesn't really matter for that one who wanna bail out from ocean using a glass.

A few leaders of OCDE countries are speaking wishfully about inflation, stating that this is just "a temporary peak". However this may or may not be the case. Even the people with best information (CEOs of large companies and perhaps some ministers) are unclear about how long do we have to endure inflation.
My translation for this is "we do not know if we can effectively pass the burden of all the money we printed onto the labour or the salaries will rise paving way for sustained high inflation in two years".
The inflation is the speed of decreasing the value of the currency. While the value will most probably never increase back, the speed of decreasing the value will slow down.. sooner or later, possibly after a complete crash and recovery of markets though. When will that happen? Nobody knows. Not too soon, though. There are far too many variables and although the declarations go towards having low inflation, politicians have to spend in order to keep their voters happy. About the salaries, the things go even more interesting: from time to time the syndicates decide to come back into the game and ask for salary rises, covering the inflation (sometimes better sometimes worse) for some of the workers. Of course, some others will suffer; of course, this can lead to even more inflation.. it's a cat and mouse game. And while it can slow down now and then, it won't stop. Now, with all that printed money, with the pandemic far from end, the politicians are trapped by their exaggerated optimism in spending funds: they have to spend even more and don't know how to do that nicely. So for short and medium term the inflation is bound to rise.

Some ideas from the top of my head:
1. It will probably kill BCH, BSV and other mad mans' visions that might continue to come up. 2. It will probably trigger unprecedented waves of FUD like "he's manipulating the market" or "he is going to sell all his coins and dump the price" 3. He will become a target for many agencies, much more "wanted" than the most feared terrorists.
However, sorry to disappoint you, but he won't come out. He's good, bitcoin is good, there's no logical reason he would do that.

I also suggest you read the FAQ first. I've used Chipmixer and, in case you want to play with it, I also recommend you use it through the Tor browser and the Tor v3 link as posted in the ANN thread. One more word of advice: whatever mixer you want to, try to get to their bitcointalk ANN topic first and get the link from there. Google search results use to be full of fake clones that may steal your money.

outstanding $8.2 trillion LGFV (local government financing vehicles outstanding) bubble to rival the united states student loan or housing bubbles.
Global economy looks most of the times like a castle built of playing cards and waiting for just a little gust to make it crumble. It doesn't necessarily means that'll happen now, but the risk is always there. Anyway, this Evergrande situation is more like a serious symptom of an even more serious economic illness in China.
That's correct. I just hope that "western" banks were not too greedy and aren't that much tied to Chinese economy, because if they are, we have a perfect storm. If china pursues war against hong kong, taiwan and neighboring territories. What would the cost be?
Somehow the wars' seem to postpone an economic crisis. Yes, they'll be accounted for, but at a later time. And this is something many unfortunately may prefer. That's the image the country could easily project because the ruling party has really no credible opposition. But they can only control the damage for some time. Sooner or later, signs will really come out.
The more informed somebody is, the more he knows that China's reality is not the one from the image they try so hard to publish. That's why I do expect the banks didn't go for China head first; although they tend to do extremely foolish moves just because they're too greedy.

Hi everyone,
Question's in the title. I started working on a project where I have only partial addresses (bitcoin, eth, ada, etc), and I want to search various blockchains to get a list of possible addresses that I can then narrow down to try to find the actual one I'm interested in. On Etherscan for example, it will autocomplete once you enter enough beginning characters, but what if I only have the last few characters or some in the middle?
I believe I can download the entire blockchain and then search that way, but I'm not actually sure if that's true and if it is I'm hoping there's a way I can do the search without needing to do so.
Thanks for the help!
At least for Bitcoin it may be of help List of all Bitcoin addresses with a balance. Of course, it'll be one day old and it helps only if there are funds on the address, but it's much smaller than the blockchain and it's much easier to search into. For the altcoins I can't help, sorry.

FTX also became a sponsor of Formula 1, the Mercedes AMG F1 team:
Indeed, it was discussed in the F1 topic here and here. I've even put there a nice image where FTX is visible: I guess it wasn't cheap, but it is visible and imho it's a big deal, especially after crypto.com entering F1 and (hopefully) making more people read about crypto.

Deci daca pica platforma, VPS etc atunci tu deti un NFT cu "404 page not found".

•Bitcoin replacing Banks.
I am not convinced that this will happen. Banks can adapt to use bitcoin in their services and stay alive. For example I don't know who else can do lending without digital collateral. •Uber replacing Taxi's.
I believe that Uber will also be replaced by something even more efficient. But it'll take time. •Amazon replacing Bookstores.
Amazon and online book stores are being replaced by online book lending services. Storing too many books at home can easily become an expensive hassle. And many still prefer to read from paper than from Kindle or phone. Being engrossed in the present, I think a lot have failed and refused to envisaged, or envision the future such as viz ; I feel they simply don't like all of this and are intimidated by the future, do you think so likewise ?
As you can see, even yourself may not see far enough in the future. It's not necessarily about refusing to see that or being intimidated; people may just miss some bits of info here and there and it's not necessarily productive to think on that, the future evolves continuously and event the models we see as good now may become obsolete and superseded at some point.
