5706  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Is this the Best way to anonymously punish cyber crooks? on: March 02, 2018, 12:02:07 AM
Am thinking of the best ways to punish people who break rules in Crypto World without desecrating Cryptocurrency privacy principle... more like an effective online alternative to the usual "Physical jail". I think this is necessary because of the issue of anonymity in Crypto/Blockchain World.     People need to be judged and punished anonymously. I think it can be done!

I am 100% for Cryptocurrency ideals. I hate when they're violated whether for good or bad. I think people's wish to be anonymous should be 100% respected. Yes, 100% can be achieved! We need to make sure all the ideals are adhered to in all our dealings with Crypto.

So Here is How We Can Go about This:

Automated trust system
There should be a Blockchain database for all our Crypto-cyber activities which no human can read nor have access to except the Blockchain & websites it is interfacing with. Our most important cyber activities will be recorded on the Blockchain. Such activities will be mostly in form of trust/reputation scores from:
 * Borrowing and repayment of Loans.
* Safe Cryptocurrency tradings.
* General financial dealings on Crypto sites.
* Activities on Crypto Forums/Social Media, Exchanges .
 *Activities on important Crypto websites.
* Ratings based on Crypto sites rules and regulations.
When you borrow loan on a Loan Site & repay early,  you get good score/rating & it is auto recorded on the Blockchain. When you Trade according to rules of a Crypto Exchange , you get rated & it's recorded on the Blockchain. When your Forum activity score is good, it gets recorded on the Blockchain. etc
To avoid cheating this system, the Blockchain must have something that is unique to you, like biometric id or other means. This will ensure that the record is (anonymously) tied to you  permanently even when you create another account on the Blockchain. If try to cheat by creating a new account, once you provide your unique ID(in biometric or others form), your previous records on the Blockchain will be found & merge to your new account.
This system will be as anonymous as Bitcoins on Blockchain.. no one knows who the owners are. Only your Reputation, just as the Bitcoins, will be publicly (and anonymously) visible.

How you get Penalized/Jailed

The Blockchain will keep records of your various websites activities. You get penalized by the Blockchain when your total scores from all your activities get Red or Poor (everything will be done automatically). You will be auto banned from using the major Cryptocurrency services. Your account and Cryptocurrencies on the services will be freezed pending when the ban is auto lifted by the Blockchain. No website that interfaces with Blockchain can render services to you until the ban is lifted. The ban length will depend on your score.

Any more suggestions on ways to Penelize people anonymously will be welcomed.

Yep, sure, so we just have to make sure that all the crooks upload their biometrics to the Blockchain or that you cannot open a website without having your ID on the blockchain.

I suggest you move this from serious discussion to the "Crypto-jokes" section. If that section does not exist I will talk to the admins to create it for you.
5707  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Funny use case on: March 01, 2018, 11:59:11 PM

It is an interesting case not only for finance management, but also for retirement funds.

The problem is that is does not allow for any flexibility, that is, you may actually need your money for an emergency. Also, you could potentially ask for a loan against the fixed income you have, making the process useless.

An entire purpose  is to not allow  to much flexibility, but really you  don't have to put like  100%  of  what you  have. Additionally if  someone  was able  to  survive without big money till  this  point why all the  sudden he  need it all so  desperately.

Really? Have you heard about Cancer? Have you heard about accidents? Of course there are moments in which you need all.
5708  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Idea for an anonymous file-sharing system on: March 01, 2018, 11:53:53 PM
Sorry if I am missing the point because I only partially understand your post, but there are a few Blockchain based projects out there with developments focused on encryption and anonymity, at least one of them with an API.

One of those is enigma https://enigma.co/

Quoting:
"Abstract
A peer-to-peer network, enabling different parties to jointly store and run computations
on data while keeping the data completely private. Enigma’s computational
model is based on a highly optimized version of secure multi-party computation,
guaranteed by a verifiable secret-sharing scheme. For storage, we use a modified
distributed hashtable for holding secret-shared data. An external blockchain
is utilized as the controller of the network, manages access control, identities and
serves as a tamper-proof log of events. Security deposits and fees incentivize operation,
correctness and fairness of the system. Similar to Bitcoin, Enigma removes
the need for a trusted third party, enabling autonomous control of personal data.
For the first time, users are able to share their data with cryptographic guarantees
regarding their privacy."

Another one is NuCypher https://www.nucypher.com/blockchain.html

Quoting:

"NuCypher KMS is a decentralized Key Management System (KMS) that addresses the limitations
of using consensus networks to securely store and manipulate private, encrypted data [1]. It provides
encryption and cryptographic access control, performed by a decentralized network, leveraging
proxy re-encryption [2]. Unlike centralized KMS as a service solutions, it doesn’t require trusting a
service provider. NuCypher KMS enables sharing of sensitive data for both decentralized and centralized
applications, providing security infrastructure for applications from healthcare to identity
management to decentralized content marketplaces. NuCypher KMS will be an essential part of
decentralized applications, just as SSL/TLS is an essential part of every secure web application."

Would any of these address the use case you are discussing?
5709  Other / Meta / Re: Some confusions regarding "Merit system" on: March 01, 2018, 11:36:34 PM

I don't think there's much of an issue with people hoarding merit; it's giving it to their alt accounts that is going to be the big issue.

It has already started and I believe it will continue to be an issue.

What use do people have for hoarding merit?

Zero.

Any evidence for proving this conclusion ? We can see merits being spend by members here but there is n way to see how many smerits they have currently. Most of the members who wanted to cheat this merit system already spent their merits on alt accounts and then got caught. Genuine members who were awarding merit points to newbies have also spent most of their merit points (as evident from their posts in merit giveaway threads).

Have you not looked at the several threads involving sMerit farming? You do realize these farmers don't just have 3-4 accounts, they have many more. Once those sMerits are used to level up a few chosen sig campaign accounts, off they go to buying more accounts with sMerits. So it would be safe to say the behind the scenes of account sales are surging and there is no short supply of account sellers.
If it has not already happened, the Merit source accounts will be bought and sold so someone with a little savvy will trickle sell the sMerits. Catching these will depend on just how savvy they are.

Once the merit farming finishes with the merit that is initially given, any further acquisition must be done with merit from sources. The merit sources account will be under heavy public scrutiny, so they are not free to break the system.

5712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much you know about KYC? on: March 01, 2018, 11:18:14 PM
**Anyone got any thoughts on below?**

1. What do you know about KYC?
2. For ICO that did KYC do they need the license to do this?
3. Is it mandatory or optional? Why some ICO did but some didn't?
4. If it is mandatory who forced it? SEC? Legal and compliance department?
5. What is the process to get approval from the departments or SEC?
6. For ICO who raised funds, are they financially licensed?

1  and only - I know enough to be absolutely scared by KYC. You are just putting your data, very sensitive and with potential for misuse in who knows what hands.
5713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Track an Ethereum theft on: March 01, 2018, 11:17:17 PM
sure it's possible because all chain of transactions are traceable. and usually, someone would cash-out to fiat. exchanges know who is depositing crypto and when. so when crock try to cash-out feds can ask who done that.

Well, yes and no. There are some services out there called mixers that gather transactions and send different ammounts in different days and mixed from different accounts so is more difficult to trace and also you can convert to monero or other private coin.

5715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to known a Scam ICO on: March 01, 2018, 04:00:00 PM
Hard to avoid, here is some tips.

3 Ways to Identify an ICO Scam:
1. The Developers Are Anonymous
The first and most blatant sign of an ICO scam is that the token’s developers are anonymous or otherwise-unknown.
2. The Token Does Not Have a Clear Use Case
Another sign of an ICO scam is that the developers are unable to clearly articulate a valid use case for the token.
3. The Whitepaper Sets Unrealistic Goals
If the whitepaper sets an unrealistic development schedule, it either means the developers are using deceptive tactics to attract token buyers or they lack the necessary experience to give a sensible scope to the project. Either way, this does not bode well for the success of the project and its corresponding token.

Full of learnings. Making clear and realistic form of whitepaper is one of the bases that the ICO is not a scam. We can rely on that by being knowledgeable.

You are mixing two things that are completely different: 1 - A Scam> something specifically designed to rob. 2 - A bad business> A business that has no chance of success.

These are different things and can be detected with different tests.
