5701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 08, 2022, 10:14:25 PM
We have less than three hours left for the third game of this series. I enjoyed both of the first two games a lot. For the third game, I'm thinking that Celtics are going to be victorious. They had a really bad result in the previous game so I think we will watch a much more solid Celtics in this game. Warriors wouldn't let them pull away earlier in the game I presume but Celtics would still make it to victory. They just need to defend Warriors players very well this time.

I’m already getting myself prepared for the game. Smiley

I think the Warriors are the better team and while it seems the Celtics are favored to win tonight, the time is now to show who the NBA champions will be. Barring an amazing performance from Tatum, or more high % shooting from White (who seems to be playing way above expectations), I think the Warriors have this one. Mostly I hope for an exciting game.
5702  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Anyone else experiencing high DOA rate on new Whatsminers? on: June 08, 2022, 06:25:31 PM
About 30% of the new whatsminers we've purchased over the last few months are DOA on one hashboard (typically error 540, 541 and 542).
We started purchasing whatsminer in 2020 after the Antminer S17 series reliability issues, but it appears that whatsminers are having the same issues now.
Anyone else notice a drop in quality from MicroBT?

I haven't had any experience with the latest whatsminers, but I've noticed that many miners are pretty particular about what pool they're mining on.  What pool are you mining on with them?  It might help some of the sleuths around here get to the bottom of your issue.  I would also recommend trying out a couple different pools and seeing if you're having the same problem with them all if you have time to troubleshoot.  You might find that it's more profitable to mine somewhere else based on your hardware.  Just a thought of something to try to help diagnose the issue.
5703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: June 08, 2022, 06:07:03 PM
In the 2nd game of the series, Warriors helped us watch an incredible performance by them. Their effort was so great that they were far ahead of their opponent at the end of the third quarter already. After this very solid victory, I wonder how Celtics will answer this. It is 1-1 now and we are going to Boston tonight. Celtics have an advantage as they are going to play home but things can be the opposite easily too. In my opinion, Celtics will manage to defeat their opponent again and get ahead in the series.

I think the Boston Celtics will win the next game. The Golden State Warriors defended very well in the last game and conceded very few points in the third quarter. Celtics were unable to manage this crisis and failed to score.
But the next game will be easier for the Boston Celtics, they will play at home and I think they will win this game with the support of the fans Smiley

It's easy to say that the home team will win and Boston seems to be the favorites at the moment for tonight's game.  I'm not so sure though.  I think basketball is a game of momentum and the Celtics had it on their side bigtime after game 1.  It seemed to only last a quarter though, as the Warriors stole back momentum and won game 2 easily.  I think the Warriors still have that momentum on their side and it's up to the Celtics to take it away tonight at home.  I'm not so sure though...  I could see the Warriors winning the next three and ending the series, but we'll see.  Tonight is a pretty big game for the Celtics.  Not a must win, but if they lose the next 2 it's over.
5704  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake and primedice are the worst gambling sites on: June 08, 2022, 06:04:26 PM
I still don't know why people are making stake and pd look like the best dice sites when they are actually the worst.
1. They do not give you loss back.

2. The top high rollers are fake meaning you will never win first place Or the fake lotteries.

Why are people hyping these useless sites when these sh*t things they do are obvious.

I'm not sure how good of a take this is.  If you're mad at every casino that doesn't give you back your losses I have some real hard news that you might want to hear...  Casinos are in the business of taking your money, not refunding it if you lose...

High rollers aren't easy to be.  Most of them have too much money and gamble for the rush.  Regular people might see their activity and think it might be fake, but some people just have too much money.  It's really that simple.  I don't see any reason why Stake would need to fake volumes when they have people streaming multimillion dollar gambling sessions...
5705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Two coins for long term mine and HODL on: June 07, 2022, 06:20:05 PM
If you are given an option to mine 2 different coins for a whole year under free electricity, no payment or bills for that single year and then leave after what coins will you mine with 500MH? 250MH on one and the other 250MH on the second, this doesn't include Ethereum.

For the sake of giving you an answer you want, I would probably choose Monero and Ravencoin.  I think Monero has a strong support base and will likely stick around for a while, even if it won't get mouth watering returns promised by some others.  Ravencoin I think could benefit greatly if ETH 2.0 comes to pass.  It's one of the most profitable GPU minable coins and will likely have a lot of hashrate thrown it's way soon.

Realistically though, I would use a service like Nicehash and get paid out in BTC to hold onto, or if I had to hold and altcoin, it would probably be Ethereum.
Choosing Raven coin is a good idea since it follows BTC in price action just like NEO but mining Ravencoin in a bear market isn't that great because Ravencoin takes more electricity than mining any other coins in the space right now, Ravencoin needs to be profitable like ETH when ETH merge is finally live.

Once it's profitable then that means the price has already skyrocketed (given the coming wave of increased difficulty that will surely hit after the ETH 2.0 migration).  By then it will be too late to start building a stack.  Sure, if you're mining on Nicehash it doesn't matter, but if you're trying to front run what is coming down the line, you'd need to be buying/mining and holding ravencoin BEFORE the price goes sky high.  I wouldn't want to be stacking it once it's profitable, that's when the whales will be wanting to sell.  Act like a whale, not their exit liquidity.
5706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash for mining Bitcoin on: June 07, 2022, 06:18:00 PM
Hi all,

I have been mining almost for over a year now using 8x RTX 3080s (approx 92 MH/s per card). I have always used Nicehash for mining (using Windows 10). If I were to use a different mining software, will I be able to get a better hashrate than what I get on Nicehash these days? One of my friends was telling me that there is a huge difference in hashrates between Nicehash and some other miners but I haven't been able to try anything else yet. But if the difference is indeed large, I am tempted to give it a shot. Also, once ETH goes to PoS mode, won't it impact Bitcoin market and make it more valuable to mine?

I think it depends on what you're trying to hold.  If you were spending the BTC you got from Nicehash on buying ETH, then you'd be much better off skipping the middleman and just mining ETH (while you can).  However, I think that BTC gives you more flexibility on top of it being a better store of value, so if I were in your situation (spoiler, I am) then I would mine on Nicehash and let the BTC stack.

You can always make more money cutting out service providers, but in this case I think paying the premium to mine on Nicehash is worth it.
5707  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The KRAKEN rises, meaning the 2020 election fraud is being corrected. on: June 07, 2022, 06:13:36 PM
Even if proved in court that the election was fraudulently stolen, what would it achieve?  It's not like they're going to rip the Biden administration out of office at this point and they can't unprint 10 trillion dollars or give back all the small businesses to those who were bankrupted as a result of Biden's policies during the scamdemic.  At best, it would just make it so even less people vote as nobody wants to waste their time casting a vote in a rigged system where it won't matter.  The whole thing is a nightmare.  I don't see how any election globally could be taken seriously after what's been exposed.  There isn't really anything else to say except it is a sad state of affairs.
5708  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish market continues? on: June 07, 2022, 06:09:29 PM
That seems sir. I guess that is better for you to learn to become a short trader, until the next year you wouldn't see anything of good, price of bitcoin will be stable or maybe we'll also discover new minimum. Stay away from

trading, it is really dangerous if you don't have any experience in doing it.

Trading for newbies is basically throwing your money away.  Market participants are masters of emotion that play on the dreams of retail capital to line their pockets.  You'd think that buying low and selling high is simple, yet people tend to buy high and sell low every single time.  All the acquaintances that were asking me about buying Bitcoin as it soared over $50K are now out of the market and calling it a scam.  Trading isn't for everyone.  Have a plan and stick to it.  Don't let your emotions betray you.

As for the market...  I think it would take a price above $53K for me to acknowledge the bear has been slayed.
5709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Business Idea by Bitcoin to Help People to Transfer remittances Faster on: June 07, 2022, 06:04:30 PM
A fun little story about settling payment transfers...  In 2011, after discovering Bitcoin, I pitched an idea to the board of Xerox.  I was at the time overseeing a team of people who were reconciling global payments and the length of time it took to verify some transfers was painstaking.  I thought Bitcoin could reduce this sometimes multiple week wait into an hour.  I pitched that Xerox invest 3 million dollars into a team, led by me, to build this system.  1 million was to be spent on purchasing Bitcoin around the price of $2 each.  1 million was to be used for staff for a multiple year contract, and the other million was to be used for hardware like mining equipment and office space in our building that we would rent from one of our outsourcing clients, which would also save that contract money.  They declined.  Today that purchase would be worth about 5 times their entire market cap.  A year after this stupid business decision that would have changed the entire company, Obama was praising Ursula Burns for her outstanding leadership...

In hindsight, I'm glad that I didn't help Xerox become the largest player in the Bitcoin space.  Bitcoin would likely not have been as successful if I were able to pursue my proposal.  As a result of the denial, I left the company and started doing my own thing.  It worked out.

Graded or ungraded.

PM please. Thanks.

Any idea what sort of markup you're looking to pay?  I'm sure we'd all like to buy silver Casascius coins.  What brings out the sellers is knowing what price you're offering.  I have all of the silver Casascius coins and there are prices I would entertain for offers, but it would be nice to know if we're on the same page as far as price is concerned.  These silver ones are getting pretty rare these days.  You may have to do some enticing with ballpark figures on your offer in order to get some out of the woodwork.

I watched an interesting series of videos from the lockpickinglawyer and Stuff Made Here where the latter made an "unpickable" lock for the lawyer to try and crack.  It was an interesting series of videos between the two and showed a great collaboration of different skill sets.  Here's one of the videos.  I found it worth the watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A2NY29iQdI&t=0s

You know what they say...  Locks keep honest people honest.  Same with tamper proof holograms.  That's why purchasing items from reputable people is important.  Nothing is unbeatable.
5712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: June 07, 2022, 05:39:25 AM
I've been talking with my coworkers about the NBA Finals, and pretty much everyone has said that the Warriors can turn the games and will win this finals.
Does anyone else believe that the Warriors can go 4-1 or even 4-2 and become NBA champions again?

Or is there still any hope for Celtics!!? What is your opinion on this, guys!?

With them heading back to Boston tied up there is definitely hope for the Celtics.  It's possible they could win the next game at home and start putting real pressure on the Warriors.  Draymond Green already seems to be having some issues...  The next game will be a big one to watch.  If the Warriors steal it in Boston then it puts all the pressure on Game 4.  That's early in the series to start having your back against the wall.
5713  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 07, 2022, 05:36:33 AM
Quick dip below $30K as quick as we hopped above $31K.  It seems like there are some people with differences of opinion about which way this market is headed.  I think in the short term we appear to be oversold a little bit as there was some heavy selling to break through $30K.  It seems like the trips above $30K are shorter and shorter though.  This is the most clueless I've been about where the price of Bitcoin is headed, but I'm enjoying watching the market and trying to soak up all the I can.

5715  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA is scared of a super continent called "EuroAsia" on: June 06, 2022, 07:13:22 PM
The world is how it is today do to fact USA is scared that Europe and Asia will join forces to form a super continent.
All the "games" you see, hear on TV,Radio,Internet about democracy ,good vs evil, communism vs capitalism and so on is for one reason only to prevent Europe and Asia to join forces
If Europe and Asia joins forces USA will be just a tiny country that will lose global influence,it will be something similar to Germany or France.

Once Europe and Asia will join ,Africa will join also in a mega continent Europe + Asia + Africa ...after that South America has no choice but to join in ...and then USA will lose all it's powers ...it will become just a simple country,no more freebies for them.

It seems like the super continent is having a bit of a civil war at the moment.  That area has so many different countries and governments smashed together with their own ideas and cultures it seems like they've got their hands full for quite some time.  Sure, they're using refugees like pawns to distribute the population as they see fit without any concern for prior residents.  I think at some point the people will realize what's happening and take issue with it, as history tends to repeat itself.  In any event, I don't think the USA has anything to be scared of from the super continent, but individual countries such as China and eventually India will eventually surpass the United States economically and as the reserve currency is ripped from us it will have a massive effect on our way of life.  It is this, not the failed Euro experiment that the USA fears.

GRAYSCALE............

11,000 Investors have shared there opinion with the SEC on proposal to convert GBTC to a Spot Bitcoin ETF.
https://twitter.com/Grayscale/status/1533854285104041985?t=XJo1JyCjlmG7oyO1hSDq3w&s=19

As we have one more month to go until SEC takes a decision on Grayscale spot Bitcoin ETF proposal.
From my perspective , whatever outcome or  decisions that may be taken by SEC, it is likely going to
have a significant impact on BTC and thus drive the entire market either ways.

It has to just be a matter of time at this point.  My only logical explanation for the situation is that they're trying to coordinate the distribution of mtgox coins to the market at the same time they open the floodgates for ETF investments.  This of course would be to keep a massive drop from happening as the gox coins flood the market while simultaneously keeping a massive bubble from happening while ETFs load their bags to get ready to charge investors management fees.  My personal feeling is that they've been discussing with large investment houses how these events will unfold and trying to get commitments to help them navigate these obstacles (as if they were in control).

Hi my name is Roma, i am new here. I cant found were is information about this forum , i want to know what is price to open a thread with a new product and where i can do it.
Also i want to know how many threads i can post per day/week

These questions are a bit concerning.  Personally, I'd be more excited if you asked questions like, 'how many threads can I read per week?' instead of how many you can create.  I'd urge you to not look at this forum like some sort of pay to post arena and instead think of it like an interactive dictionary.  You can learn so much here, but it's sometimes difficult to sift through the nonsense because anyone can start their own threads and as many as they want until moderators have to step in.  I think the right answer to your question might be, "as many as you want," but the proper answer would be as many as you find necessary to share all the different information you have that would be of benefit to the community.

Is the owner of this casino still the cocaine addict from Australia?

That seems like a bit of a crazy accusation to make so casually.  That being said, if it's mountains of cocaine that keeps the site running so well in the face of such criticism, more power to him.  I'd rather have someone staying away for 3 days at a time coding to keep the site running than someone named CreepyUncleJoe running things.  I've learned from watching the state of the United States over the last 18 months that a creepy Joe running things is probably a bad idea.  Just saying...  Maybe chill on the insults a little bit.  Especially when there's no cause for such comments.
5719  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What's stopping companies making an actual space heater bitcoin miner for home? on: June 06, 2022, 06:52:52 PM
Another problem with GPU mining is probably more philosophical. How many GPU coins are some form of pump/dump scam rather than something viable as a means of economic exchange?

That's why personally I do my GPU mining with Nicehash where it's basically mining BTC.  I don't think it's the greatest idea to hold shitcoins for any meaningful period of time, especially as a Bitcoin enthusiast, but mining them to get paid immediately in Bitcoin seems like it's good for the ecosystem.  It puts a constant sell pressure on alts while putting constant buy pressure on Bitcoin, it removes BTC from circulation without inflating the mining difficulty, and it keeps support away from the mostly monopolized asic mining industry.  Every home with a computer and a need for heat should be GPU mining alts to swap for BTC...
5720  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Massive Influx of New Miners on: June 06, 2022, 06:48:16 PM
I had no idea what I had in store for me as I took this first step down the rabbit hole.  I believe I ended up spending $1,400 on a maching with 2x GPUs in it.  I thought it was awesome and within a year I had GPUs hanging from wires throughout my home office that were liquid cooled with a giant central radiator.  I miss the daily struggle of having the latest software and settings to maximize return.  It all felt so hands on back then.  What a ride it's been...
Back in 2013 I remember starting on a tiny Radeon HD 7850 video card, then in just a week, revenue plunged from $1/day to just $0.50/day. Difficulty doubled in just 2 weeks. Then I learned about Butterfly Labs and the other ASIC companies. From there, my mining journey was full of making it big, losing it all, recovering losses and ending up at the same point I started, except with a lot more knowledge.

I believe my first GPU purchases for mining were of HD6870s.  They weren't the best miners out, but their 5850 counterparts were impossible to find anywhere.  That was the first thing that struck me about Bitcoin when I first learned of it...  I found it amazing that it created such demand for GPUs, even before anyone had heard of it, that you couldn't find a single 5800 series GPU anywhere.  I eventually fell into the Butterfly Labs trap myself, losing close to 500 BTC in the process, but as with you I had gained a great deal of knowledge.  Fast forward another couple of years and this whole Bitcoin fad became the thing I spent most of my time working on (working for is probably a better description).
