5701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ripple ever reach $5 ? on: April 02, 2021, 06:41:11 PM
Let me surprise you. Every altcoin is guilty of price manipulation at some point and base on what I read the major key player they use to achieve this manipulation is the exchange site that provides liquidity though XRP is a very very manipulated and scam project which didn't have any value/important to the crypto setting.

But dude you're not surprising me at all, and I'm pointing out that XRP is more of a manipulation mechanism than most other coins. I totally agree altcoins are 99% pump and dump (maybe even 99.9 since there are only maybe 10 good coins from 10000!).

Exchanges are the biggest culprits, agree. Bitfinex and Tether showed everyone else how to do this:)
5702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ADA and eth competitors get dumped if/when Ethereum 2.0 comes out? on: April 02, 2021, 05:01:27 PM
The new ones like BSC and Polka might get some outflows back to ETH though.

Depends from how developers will engaged with those alternative chain, the fact that ETH update might resolve the problem
with transaction fees,

Those developers who jumped out might think back and again use the  ERC chain, it will bring those old support plus those
new developers to use the system.

We will see what will happen after the update.
[/quote]

ETH will resolve it. It's just a matter of when, and I think people in general who have left ETH don't believe it's happening according to schedule (they're behaving like Bitcoin people who left the main network because they thought BTC was too slow).

Like you said though, we'll only really find out after the update.
5703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 02, 2021, 03:18:44 PM
Don't forget everyone tonight La Liga returns with one game Levante vs Huesca. I've put my bets and predictions into Superbru but all I'm hoping for is Barca to keep their form and Real to drop theirs. Which is why I hate the international breaks as they can have a bad effect on club performance and form.
5704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Chipotle free Bitcoin giveaway on: April 02, 2021, 02:44:24 PM
I got a 403 error when visiting the website so couldn't give this a try. Anyone else know? Or is this because of a location/geo restriction only for USA citizens?

Always wondered how chipotle tastes like, see it on meme sites all the time (along with other US brands I never seen or tasted). Big news for Bitcoin as we go above 60k!
5705  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Fees for bitcoin mixing? on: April 02, 2021, 02:10:25 PM
OP, importing private keys into ANY wallet supporting it is free. It does not involve any transaction on the blockchain which sweeping does. Sweeping also confused me in the beginning a lot as I never understood it just means "spending everything in one transaction to another wallet".

Reserve the sweep into Binance:)
5706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: April 02, 2021, 01:05:24 PM
BTW, during the Germany vs North Macedonia match, the referee was extremely biased. If not for his wrong decisions, it would have been 3-0 for North Macedonia (gave an unnecessary penalty kick for Germany, and then denied one for North Macedonia on a clear handball).

I didn't realize this actually. All the news reports I read said Germany took control but Macedonia's defence was very resolute plus the awful Werner miss at point blank.

I guess the news wanted to be kind to the Germans. Good news for the neutrals!
5707  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm wondering who trades with paid signals? on: April 02, 2021, 12:31:27 PM
People who are new and naive, and who think that there are actually really good traders who out of the kindness of their hearts want to share the formula to easy riches for just a small fee.

I say this because I used to be them a long long time ago before crypto. Paid money for signals that totally didn't work. Got mad but I learnt my lessons.
5708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin halal? on: April 02, 2021, 10:02:48 AM
Fiat money was backed by gold.
It is now backed by guns of the countries army and police.
It is an interesting question asked by the op.
I guess it is now backed up by nothing since governments just print the amount which they want to give it to the people. Cheesy

Even I had similar convo with my friends who are ignorant about blockchain consider that bitcoin is haram but they never know anything about bitcoin other than the name. Roll Eyes

That's what philipma1957 is saying I guess. It used to be backed by gold reserves but now since there is no value behind it, then governments have to use force and police to batter people into submission. See Venezuela. People wanted to use Bitcoin and they robbed them and force them to use their bolivar;)

In my experience people who are so vocal about haram have no problem doing haram things like cheating and lazing off at work, which is more haram than alcohol or gambling by the way.
5709  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's 100k bubble may not burst ??? on: April 02, 2021, 08:45:05 AM

In terms of the 70% correction, I do expect it to happen as an eventuality. I'd say with some confidence that we'll see some sort of major correction before mid next-year.

The drop can be sooner than mid next year IMO. Taking the scene of 2017 bull , it didn't last the whole year before the cirrection started , it went down to bear. Bitcoin went this high because of covid-19 fears and many investors pushed money to bitcoin. So I think with the vaccine, there will be reduction of cases and confidence may return to the way things were. Some investors are not enthusiasts, so they may cash out anytime there is a little correction and that can cause drop.

I'm down for a mid-2022 correction, and I do hope we can see a lot more than 100k ATH but I think it's going to be so difficult for big holders to overcome the psychological temptation of selling at $100k so we might not see more than that, what do you think?

I doubt it's so much about covid though, just the problems of fiat (which was probably helped by covid sure).
5710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If You Buy btc Today and cash out one year on: April 02, 2021, 08:01:57 AM
One year is not big enough a timeframe, especially when we're in a huge rally as we are in right now. Bitcoin takes 2 or 3 years after a rally to recover and I'm sure this one could take even longer, since the rally's been in such a long time now. I fear the winter would take a really long time, much longer than before. Hodl for BTC is a long term multi year game.

5712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will NFT bring any change in crypto gambling industry? on: April 01, 2021, 03:36:51 PM
It seems the main participation of NFTs in gambling would be as reward prize. My fear is that these non fungible tokens start being rewarded to lucky gamblers without any real value in fact. Similar to ICOs rewarding bounty hunters priceless tokens in exchange for their promoting services. To make NFTs worthful as prizes they have to be really special and demanded by the market, otherwise it makes no sense to wager money in order to earn them.

Yeah I think I can see a way for this. Imagine if you could "mine" tokens to buy NFTs, as in tokens only minable from wagering, and NFTs that can only be purchased with those specific tokens.

You could definitely get some sponsors/ambassadors to put up some item of theirs for this.
5713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ADA and eth competitors get dumped if/when Ethereum 2.0 comes out? on: April 01, 2021, 03:00:39 PM
I don't think other smart contract platforms will get dumped, but I do expect whenever Eth2 launches (fully operational - phase 2 or whatever) that'll cement it as the dominant smart contract platform.

I think this transition period plays into the hands of other smart contract platforms. I'm sure ADA will benefit from Eth having super high fees this year and next year, and I don't think it'll dump when Eth2 is fully online, but I think these other platforms need to make the most of this transition period to get as good a place in the market as they possibly can before Eth2 is ready. Basically these other platforms have maybe two years now (possibly less) to capture a piece of the market from Eth. Those that don't manage to capture much market before Eth2 will wither. Those that do should be able to maintain some market share once Eth2 is out. I bought some ADA this year because the long transition to Eth2 I think will allow it to capture a small piece of the smart contract market. I believe Dot will as well. And other platforms might carve out smaller niches. But I expect Eth2 will allow Ethereum to continue to be the dominant platform.

Yeah I don't think there's anyone left on TRX or EOS or NEO or whatever who hasn't left yet to another platform, ETH 2.0 won't get new people going to it from the competitor platforms. But it will definitely increase demand (and so price) for ETH itself.

The new ones like BSC and Polka might get some outflows back to ETH though.
5714  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tesla Bitcoin payment processor? on: April 01, 2021, 01:50:14 PM
I can't change my mind about this guy in that he's just a silly guy with a huge ego sometimes on twitter, especially I can't forget his truly bad behavior during the Thai boy cave rescues when he just called a hero a child molester BUT I agree.

Integrating Bitcoin on his own is good move and shows he is not just a Bitcoin wannabe but can be serious about the tech.
5715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: April 01, 2021, 01:08:47 PM
What the fuck did i saw with Germany loosing to North Macedonia, what is going on with the team and i have not seen  North Macedonia defeating top teams before and my brain is scrambling as i made a parlay bet along with other bets and Germany just lost to some random team which i have not heard before  Roll Eyes. It is better to stay away from these mess as i thought these are easy fixtures again smaller teams.

New team or new country depending on which news you read:)

Germany are really having a big problem with a huge roster full of super talented players but for some reason they cannot put together a good defence OR break down a park the bus team like Macedonia.

Congrats to anyone who called it.
5716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ripple ever reach $5 ? on: April 01, 2021, 11:13:50 AM
Regarding the SEC and Ripple, there are actually many updates that you might be able to read. because now in the past December was indeed quite a topic to be discussed regarding Ripple which was about to be delisted. but in reality? it is just the FUD used for Whales to get the lowest price from Ripple. maybe you can read this news to find out about the latest Ripple and Sec.

Dude, this is super old news. And it's not FUD it's actual news that shows people Ripple is bad and manipulative and that it has been proven as a scam project.

The dump and the pump after that is the proof of this further manipulation. Use XRP at your own risk and know people are playing with price behind the scenes.
5717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin halal? on: April 01, 2021, 09:39:00 AM
Since when has halal or haram ever stopped any Muslim from doing something they want to or not? Religious fanatics everywhere around the world, Christian or Muslim or Scientologist, I don't think they would ever at the end of it disregard Bitcoin if it is something they don't have a choice on anymore. There are better things to worry about halal/haram.

In Indonesia, cryptocurrency is not legal as a currency or as a payment for transactions. So we cannot do it. But it may be different in other countires.

When has that stopped Indonesians from using crypto? Look at the forum and see how many Indonesians are here;)
5718  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Everything you need to know about trading – the rest is up to you (blogpost) on: April 01, 2021, 09:01:15 AM
Then again, even McAfee's tweets stopped being profitable so it's a matter of time before Elon starts putting out losing calls.
There will be time for this but the difference is we are talking about a bigger popular guy than a mid average known personel. So it might or might not losing calls for those tweets.

So you're saying that the success or profitability of those tweets are directly attributed to "bigness" and popularity? I would say that at least McAfee was a true crypto adopter and early tech guy. Elon is now just a tech mogul with hair transplants and an ego to call people bad names and pump memecoins.
5719  Economy / Speculation / Re: Paypal allows crypto payment for all 29mil merchants on: April 01, 2021, 07:40:28 AM
At least with Bitpay you can actually ask customers to pay to a real Bitcoin address. With Paypal, you just add paypal and hope your customers who "buy Bitcoin" at Paypal think it's a cool idea.

Sooner or later, they will realize this difference. However, for now, a lot of them like the idea that they are accepting bitcoin via PayPal. This platform has a lot of users, so no wonder, merchants wanted to take part in this innovation. But in the long term, they will find other ways like using BitPay instead of PayPal. It will take time for them to understand the pros and cons on using these networks. But at least we are heading to this adoption thing. Whether PayPal is not really good for crypto transactions.

I'm not so sure about that honestly. Merchants have been using Bitpay for over 5 years now when there are cheaper and better alternatives out there that allow for real bitcoin transfers. In the end very few merchants actually want to really use bitcoin now so they're all thinking of convenience, so are most users now.

That's always going to be the case I guess, even knowing pros and cons.
5720  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-03-30] Chipotle plans to give away $100,000 in both Bitcoin and free food on: April 01, 2021, 07:06:13 AM
Yeah probably an April Fools joke or whatever but not really because of the prize as I'm sure 100k isn't something a big brand like that cannot afford (and the free food as we know actual cost is probably only 30% and since people will buy to get the chance, they for sure will more than make up for it).

It's the bit about teaming up with that poor guy that stinks of a joke;)
