I have not had any of the new gears yet , and have no idea about the level of noise that each make, planning to sell some old S9s to buy a few more efficient gears.

This particular place is a residential area, with the split room set-up I am able to control most of the noise coming from the S9s ( except for when they first power on and fans are at 100%) but then that only lasts for a minute or less so  nobody really complained, so i am a little bit concerned about the new gears, specially the non-bitmain gears because I have no experience with those .

So I am considering the following options:

-Whatsminer  M21S-56th
-Innosilcon T2T 30th
-Innosilcon T3-43T
-Bitmain S17
-Bitmain T17

Among the 5 options , what would be close to S9 in terms of noise? (assuming they run at the same condition)

I will be doing this upgrade around September-October so not really in a rush, but I want to plan ahead, the most important factor for this upgrade would be the level of noise.

I only have about 12kw of power for this place (does not include other components like fans and stuff, those have separate allocation) , so making the most of it is also important, I would appreciate the inputs from you guys, suggesting another gear that I haven't listed would also be great.

No , the board will still power on regardless of how  many working chips it has on it, you need to post the kernel log for us to see what is going on, there is part where it says something like


Now depending on what chip/chips are bad, some hash boards work just fine with missing chips, some don't ! it pretty much depends on what chip that is and the architecture of the board.

also,it's common that changing the firmware will show those hash boards for a reason  I don't seem to understand, so make sure you try flashing a different firmware, not the 2019 versions because then you can't change it if you need to.

الصعوبة دائما موجودة في التعدين ,لكي يحافظ البلوكتشين على نسق 12.5 بتكوين كل 10 دقائق يجب ان يعدل من صعوبة التعدين لكي لا يتم تعدين عدد اكبر او اقل من البلوكات والتي يفترض ان تكون كل 10 دقائق , مما يعني انه كل مازاد عدد الاجهزة على الشبكة تزيد الصعوبة والعكس صحيح , وطبعا كل مازادت الصعوبة يعني ان نسبتك من الارباح تقل , لو كنت المعدن الوحيد ستاخد 12.5 كل عشرة دقائق ولو كان هناك مليون معدن سيتم القسمة بينكم على حسب قوة التعدين لكل شخص.


ارباحك بالدولار تزيد عند زيادة السعر طبعا , بالنسبة للاسعار فهيا في العادة ترتفع بارتفاع سعر البتكوين  والعكس صحيح.

As far as attempting to track BTC transactions to figure out the sales, I say it's not the best idea,  it's technically hard to do, and even if you manage to do it it won't give you any good estimates since many people might have paid using Wire transfer or another crypto currency, remember the coupon-method I used in an attempt to determine how many S15s were sold ? this will be way less accurate IMO.

Anyhow , by looking at the transaction chart, you can see that on the 24th of july nothing major happened, in fact the number of transactions was lower than average

nothing major in that too, in fact less than the average,  I know this is far from being a solid proof , but with 5 gears limited per customer, and running out of gears in 5 mins or so, it's safe to assume that they didn't sell much.

نعم اخي الامر نسبي ولكن لا علاقة لدخل المواطنين بهدا الموضوع , الامر نسبي من ناحية معدل الخسارة والربح, او مايعرف ب Risk/Reward Ratio وهوا في جميع دول العالم ينص على ان اي تجارة تدخل فها يجب ان تكون نسبة الربح اكتر من نسبة خطر خسارة راس مالك لكي ينجح استتمارك.

لنفرض مثلا ان راس مالي 10,000$ وهوا رقم كبير جدا في بلد متوسط دخل الفرد فيه 100$ يعني بذلك المبلغ يمكن ان اعيش حياة ترف او ادخل في تجارة, انا شخصيا ان لم يكن العائد الربحي الشهري يساوي او يفوق 10% من استتماري فالافضل ان ارتاح واريح راسي , مما يعني اني يجب عن ابيع واشتري ماقيمته 10000$ شهريا.

في حالة كان السوق نشط ويمكن ان اقوم بتحريك هدا المبلغ مرة كل 10 ايام مثلا ,, يمكن ان شغتل بنسبة 1.5% من لبائع و %1.5 من الشاري لاحقق 3% او 300$ كل 10 ايام , مما يعني 900$ شهريا

ولكن في حال السوق لايسمح , فمثل ماذكرت حظرتك ان اليبع والشراء يسير بمعدلات بسيطة , يعني اني لن استطيع تحريك مبلغ 10,000$ في عشرة ايام بل احتاج لشهر على الاقل,, مما يعني اني يجب ان اجني ربحا يساوي 10% حيت اقوم بتحميل نسبة 5% على كل كل طرف (البائع والمشتري) لكي اقوم بتحقيق المكسب المطلوب.

طبعا الارقام المذكورة ماهي الى امتلة فقط ولا يتم تحديدها عشوائيا , بل بناء على معطيات اخرى, مثلا ال 10% يجب ان تكون منطقية من حيث الخيارات الاخرى مثلا يكون للمستتمر الخيارات الاتية

1- اضعها في البنك واتقاضا 3% عوائد
2- اشتري بضاعة معينة من الصين وابيعها بمكسب 7%

الخ الخ , فنسبة المكسب يجب ان تضاهي الجهد والخطر وراس المال الموجود , فان كان مثلا يمكنني ان احصل على 2% من وضع اموالي في المصرف او شراء شقة وتم ايجاره , فمن غير المنطق ان اكسب 1% فقط من تجارة البتكوين.

طبعا انا لست بدارية بكافة الجوانب في بلدك ولكن الرقم 10% يمكن ان يكون منطقي جدا في حال توافرت فيه الشروط المذكورة اعلاه.


بالنسبة لوضع سوريا اعتقد ان ال Bottle neck هوا الفولويوم , هدا مايجعل الوسطاء يبالغون في مكسبهم.

 LTC halving is only 11 days 11 hours away, I started to see some FUD surrounding this event,  some people talk about price drop because of the decrease in security that is about to happen since many miners will leave the network after the halving, some go to the extent of saying LTC is going to be dead , some are bullshiting on the exact opposite side saying price will go to ATH right after the halving because supply will be decreased by half.


My thoughts on this are:

Nothing major is going to happen after the halving, neither price nor hash rate will be affected by much.


The reason why i think so, is simply because I am a believer in the theory of  "History repeats itself" and based on the previous halving, or the 2 halvings that BTC had, nothing out of the ordinary happened after any of those halvings !.

After the previous halving ,price stayed leveled for many months then went up because BTC was going up and the crypto market in general was having a good time , the world did not care about missing 25 LTC every 2.5 mins after the previous halving , and the world most likely won't care about 12.5 LTC less every 2.5 mins 11 days from now

Nearly the same exact thing as the price, hashrate kept it's normal progression and slowly increased, and since mining is profitability based, who cares if their rewards are cut by half as long as they are still making profit by the end of the day?

also the fact that LTC price is more likely than not going to increase in the long the run, adding to that the fact that more efficient gears should hit the market when price increases , it's almost certain that hash rate will only continue to increase, therefore - nothing about security is getting affected by the halving.


I could be wrong , but I place most of my thoughts on numbers from previous similar events, feel free to share your thoughts and correct me if I made a mistake somewhere.

لعل هده الحالة الوحيدة المبررة للبحت عن المنصات التي تقبل العملات التي تتقاضاها مقابل عملك لاحد المشاريع , ولكن قصدي كان بالمجمل وليس بحالتك المبررة هده , لان الكتير من الناس ييمارس سياسة البحث عن عملات غير مدرجة في المنصات الكبيرة وشرائها من المنصات الغير المعروفة وتخزينها حتى يتم ادراجها في المنصات الكبيرة ليتم بيعها بمكسب كبير بحكم ان معظم المشاريع يقومو بطرح خطط وهمية توحي بان عملتك سيتم ادراجها في المنصات الكبيرة فيسارع الناس لشرائها ليكتشفو لاحقا ان تلك الخطط والوعود دهبت في مهب الريح, اما بالنسبة للحالات المشابهة لحالتك فهي موضوع مختلف.

everything except for S17 and  T17 November batch is sold out , I for fun watched how it went, every miner was sold out in less than an hour , the S17 pro version didn't last more than 10 mins , the S9ks  lasted for couple hours, so this got me thinking about 2 possibilities.

1- People are stupid enough to pay that much
2- Bitmain had just a couple of them, maybe 50-100 people bought them and that's all about it

or a mixture of both , this of course excludes that fact that those who bough at these prices are not stupid and in couple months from now the laugh will be on those who didn't buy including you and myself  .

"too far" is too generous  , i would say it's nearly impossible, because if 20SMA test is going to be around 7500$ then it has to happen this week, that's 2k drop in 3-4 days , I don't see that happening to be honest, next week the 20SMA will be at around 7800$, the week after that probably 8000$ or a bit higher, but no matter what, we are more likely than not going to test it in a few weeks regardless of where it is.

ان كانت العملة غير موجودة في المنصات الكبيرة فالافضل الابتعاد عنها من الاساس, رغم ان هدا الموضوع يعتبر خارج النص قليلا ,ولكن اريد ان انتهز الفرصة لنشر هده النقطة, يجب ان تعلم ان اي عملة غير قادرة على ان تفرض قبولها في المنصات الكبيرة يعني انها على الاغلب عملة غير ناجحة اساسا , المنصات الكبيرة تقوم بفلترة الكتير من العملات النصابة والغير مجدية وهدا يسهل عليك الاختيار الى حد ما, طبعا هدا لا يعني ان كل العملات الموجودة في المنصات الكبيرة هي عملات ناجحة ولكن على الاقل انها تخطت بعض الاختبارات.

ان كان الوضع بهدا السوء فادا لا لوم على الوسطاء بصراحة , انا شخصيا ان كنت ساتتمر راس مال وجهد وتعب في سوق البيع والشراء فيه ضعيف لهده الدرجة بكل تاكيد لن اقوم بذلك الا ادا كان المكسب يتماشى مع كم الركود , لانه ليس من المنطق ان اشتري منك 1000$ واحتفظ بها فترة طويلة لابيعها بي 1010$ مثلا , ربما 5% من الطرفين مبالغ فيه قليلا ولكن على حسب وصفك فهو مبرر نظرا لانه من المتوقع ان يحتاج الوسيط لاشهر حتى يتمكن من البيع.

Agreed. I would most certainly not pay these prices , but if i had to bet I am willing to bet that they will be sold out real quick , there are always people who would be willing to pay premium for gears directly from bitmain simply because it's pretty hard to find a legit reseller and it is more convenient to buy the gear directly from the manufacturer.

The only reasonable price to me is the S9k as it is cheaper on bitmain than on the chinese market almost 100$ cheaper , aside from that all the other gears are over priced and one can probably find them for cheaper from resellers.
