I started this thread because the creation of Bitcoin futures trading sites, and the consequent derivatives market, is going to affect Bitcoin's future. It may also leave the way open to price manipulation via contracts where physical delivery is not an option.
The futures are cash settled at prices derived from crypto exchanges. How does the lack of physical delivery make any difference? IMO, it does make a big difference. In theory, and sometimes in practice, if you don´t need to liquidate the underlying asset you can potentially create more futures than assets. That is, you could in theory create futures for a total underlying bitcoin amount of 50 million BTC even if those don´t exist. This degree of leverage gives way to a profitable a manipulation of the underlying asset. (hint) - You probably know this, but probably the first organised futures exchange is the Dojima Rice Exchange in Japan, 17th century. Instead of Bitcoin, rice played the role of money. To make a long story short, it gave way to a heavy degree of speculation and ultimately to government intervention.

So sad that these scams keep happening.. hard to tell sometimes. @ Paxmao, I don't want to spread any FUD but I've seen some pretty dark red flags about GoNetwork a while back.. I don't know if you've seen/heard about it but in case you haven't you might wanna check it out. Thanks, I am aware that is a risky one. They are delaying the date a lot, but they allow to leave their campaign if you want and would keep your stakes and I may do that by the end of the month. I don´t think is a scam, but it is a risky "investment of my time".

I also think that the companies that were found guilty of such manipulation, you need somewhere to write, so I propose to report information about them in this thread, I will try periodically to write down information. So I ask everyone who is also indifferent and sensitive to this issue, to leave information about such companies.
Polymath Haven ShipChain
I will not drop anything, but will ask you to do like & repost, maybe this will change things for the better. Decency will once again enter this world.
I assume you don´t hang around the Alt Discussion threads, but there is nothing like silence there about it. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2746718.0https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2768416.0https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2931828.0Personally, I am scared enough to give my docs and personal data to invest, so I would never ever do it for a crappy airdrop of 10 or 15 USD.

please tell the newcomer prospective bounty, from which you can start to comprehend this earnings
Try to find bounties for joining Telegram groups in the ICOs and those that pay for re-twits or facebook´s shares. Bitcointalk signatures are probably not for you as your English seem to be even worse than mine.

I am now working as a translator and moderator (local thread) for the Effect.ai project. It is an artificial intelligence services market that will run on NEO. If it reaches good adoption the NEO network is going moon!

Hello there, I am just wondering what is that Hype about Merit system, and in what way it should somehow affect on the spammers? My confusion comes from the fact that during last week I saw few posts with 3 world which were awarded by 10-20 merit each, is that I or this is kinda strange?
Also, I am quite shocked by the "Merit Markets" I was already invited into one. Quote: "you can easily boost your account", How the good idea can be turned on into a shit so fast? From what I see the Merit is close to being the new tradeable object which is required (cause everyone wants to UPTHERANK). This is just assumption but I would say that the 80% of merit is located to the 10% of the accounts right now.
What do you say, is merit system works as you expected/it should or this is just plague?
Please, provide links to those posts or post them in the thread of "Users abusing the merit system" in Meta section.

Hi Everyone,
What is the copper member? Recently I have seen many bounty managers who are a copper member! What is this actually? Is this a new rank system?
It is someone who has donated at least 1 BTC to the forum I believe. You buy a "member" rank with some limits, and it is cheap. Look in the Meta section of the forum, on the pinned posts for donators and VIPs also.

I am a newbie on this forum and I am planning to launch an ICO soon...the project is in the pipeline... So collecting some useful info on how to make my announcement thread engaging...I have read many threads on this forum and found that few announcements are very hot topic, whereas there are many other struggling to be on top....
You will need at least one team member with experience in ICO marketing. Since you are asking this question, you don't have one, which means also that your project is not mature. Your first priority is to find someone for that area. You don't have to hire someone full time, but the best don't work for peanuts. Eventually, but much later, you will hire a good bounty manager. He or She will be able to guide you through the process of creating a campaign on Bitcointalk, Facebook, Twitter, etc... To make sure you follow an adequate marketing strategy, you may want to contact some ICO advisors. Look for other successful campaigns and see if you can contact the same advisors. You would be looking for ICO advisors, Marketing advisors and / or "Growth Hackers". Normally, if your project is reasonably good, all these people would accept a payment in tokens. If they don't accept, reconsider your project.

You don't need "money" to register for an ethereum wallet. What you probably want is an Ethereum address, and since you don't have Ethereum nor know how to "buy it" I assume that you want to get some airdrops or similar. No problem. The simplest way, not the safest, is to go to myetherwallet, read all the splash screen that tell you about safety and all. It is all information that you should start understanding to be safe. Now, by default you'll be on the tab "New Wallet", just set a good password with numbers, uppercase, long... you know, make it strong. Then hit "create new wallet". In a few seconds you will get another screen that tells you to backup your private key. Do so. If you loose this file you will loose all funds and nobody will be able to help you recover them. If someone gets this file, you funds may be stolen. KEEP IT SAFE. Never give your pass, never give your private key. You file will look like this: UTC--2018-02-23T15-18-54.589Z--029e49fb289e41dd3dbcfb09a928093efaf09aed Now you can continue. You will now be shown your priv key. something like 4e73b93269c22e220b816167067b96a72eaadac0bb275942ae903d0b13bad0f9 KEEP IT SAFE. Never give your pass, never give your private key. Print a paper wallet or save your key safely. DON'T LOOSE IT. You now have a wallet. To get tokens or ethereum you will need to give your PUBLIC address. Now, continue by opening your wallet. Choose the option "open with... private key". Paste your private key. You will then unlock your wallet and, scrolling a bit down and find your public address. That one, you can give freely and that is the destination address for any ether or tokens that you want to receive. "Account Address 0x029e49fb289E41Dd3dBcFB09A928093eFaF09aed" notice that it always starts with 0x

I can get behind this in general. It would not be out of place in the section that says "show recent unread posts since last vist' and could say 'Show merited posts (x) since last visit'.
This could also be a good idea for highly merited posts. Show which ones have received 50+ merit so that people understand what kind of posts attract that level of attention (this may also lead to further meriting, but thats not a bad thing is it?). There are already threads that have leader boards for merited users and I have enjoyed going through some of their posts and learning from what they have offered, though most of the technical stuff goes straight over my head.
My preferred option would be a "recently merited" that would allow me to see all the recently merited posts from anyone so I could read the best posts out there first. This would also be useful to detect abuses, as people would read merited posts and complaint about the ones that are of insufficient quality, so there would be some built-in public surveillance. Personally, I don't need to be notified when I get merit, but that's just me. if I had to be notified, a PM would be fine.

Hi I am new here..Just want to know that what is Airdrop? And how does it work? How to earn through it?
You will find a few threads about this on the Altcoins Discussion section of the forum. Basically and airdrop is a free distribution of tokens. A true airdrop will not require you to do anything, except perhaps registering an Ethereum address to receive the tokens (some airdrops may be new coins or based on NEO, WAVES or other platforms). This is something that many companies do to have a wider user base and raise awareness of their project.
