581  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is Btcoin becoming centralized? on: November 21, 2015, 11:52:34 PM
Algorithm can be changed to avoid new asic development, when for example bitcoin algorithm would be changed to current asic proof, if someone crazy company would start to develop new asic suitable for new algorithm, it would take a while when they succed, after that, algorithm can be changed to avoid that nwe asic too, and thats about it, i would like to see which crazy company would invest in researching technology that would not be needed soon after it is developed. There would be plenty of miners for supporting transactions, you can be sure about that, there just need to be correct information about that for potential miners. I am not in a dream world, unless bitcoin developers are close to large companies that gain profits from asic development, that this all idea is not real. It should not be like that is now, everyone is supporting greedy companies, that is making money by producing miners for dummies, that will most probably get back their money.

no please not this shit again, algo cannot be changed at this point, because all miners need to change their asic, which will kill bitcoin completely

you see vertocoin, when they changed their algo the whole coin died and that was much less painful than something like a "400 peta of algo to be changed"

The difference with VTC was that Vertcoin was already on a demise and they hoped this would bring new life in their coin, they failed badly however.
582  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What are the most popular miners? on: November 21, 2015, 11:49:41 PM
Yes the Miners of Spondoolies Tech are also quite reputable. The Avalons miners are also quite popular

586  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitcoinWisdom.com - Live Bitcoin/LiteCoin Charts on: November 21, 2015, 11:23:23 PM
I have heard of this website but never looked at it until now. I am amazed at what you have available there Shocked
Like it a lot and will continue to go there when I need a price on several markets at the same time.

Yes the charts are amazing, looking and comparing tools are unmatched. I love this.
587  Economy / Exchanges / Re: is Cryptsy about to fold over??? on: November 21, 2015, 11:22:16 PM
The downfall of a great exchange has happened after they partnered up with Josh Garza, after that it went downhill.

They try to focus on new things (creditcard, websites fixes etc) but in fact nothing new has happened. In fact it got worse.

By having users wait days for a withdrawal they take your money hostage.. really sad to be honest.

Exactly, it is just a farce, they create new services but in fact don't improve there main service. Offer a fast and neat withdrawal option, which is never good for an exchange.

And it don't stops there, look at the new withdrawal fee. It's ridiculous. And every withdrawal i have to pay an addiotinal 0.5% fee.

WTF? Why didn't they offer there users to withdrawal first and proposed the fee increase in a newsletter. Which any normal business would do?

They give 3 f'ree withdrawals, which is pathetic right, Anyone else there have at least 3 altcoins they invested in, so they take much profit.
588  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: November 21, 2015, 11:20:53 PM
Something very strange is happening with the Hashnest in recent days, the site was abandoned, there is no administration, support is away, many glitchers using codes and chat gaps, redirecting access to other sites, and leaving HN inaccessible ...

Very easy to manipulate the market. A single troll (username: ag) is using bots and autobuy scripts to freeze all markets and making jokes in chat. I think the hashnest deserves to be investigated more closely by the entire community.
Angry

that's bad, is the legitimacy of this website falling apart or what? they are among the few trusted website, but if they start to act like this, i'm seriously worried that the whole cloud thing is fucked beyond repair

I think it is failing apart.
WIth BTC at 250 USD the cost of S5 was 1.3BTC per 1 TH.

With BTC at 330 USD the cost of the same 1TH is 0.66 BTC

This decline is because people are selling out, because they are tired of this bad support (read no support).

The amount of unanswered tickets is stacking up there. I think it is becoming a ghost town on hashnest.

Why should they care about support right, they already made their money by selling the hash. Giving support only cost money..
589  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: November 21, 2015, 11:19:10 PM
What is the cheapest bitcoin debit card?

It depends of what you mean, costs of shipping or card usage fees... But anyway, you should try to find an answer or repeat your question in this thread: List of bitcoin debit cards.

I checked the thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1242788.msg12935102#msg12935102

But's there is no comparison or trust overview per provider. This makes it hard to select the right card. Can you recommend any one?
590  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy low or sell high. What is better? on: November 21, 2015, 11:18:02 PM
This is better for me
- Buy low
- if price down again, buy again,
- sell the 2nd buy at profit 40-50%
- Sell the 1st buy at profit 10-20%
don't waiting highest rate, better get small profit with continuous

Exactly my strategy. Never wait for first profit because it is risky. Taking your small profits and doing this continously is preferred and adviced.
591  Other / Archival / Re: should i save btc for future? on: November 21, 2015, 11:16:35 PM
Agreed, it will rise more and more from now long term. So long term Strong buy, but for the short term, we could expect some turbulence.
592  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening to BTC price? on: November 21, 2015, 11:15:24 PM
the price is slowly decreasing because more people are dumping their coins then the people want to buy< atleast thats my theory.

Yes the people who hoped for a revival are losing patience and want to sell before it becomes 300 usd or less. Are they right to do so?
593  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: November 21, 2015, 11:14:04 PM
i believe,if US Dollar crashes, the world maybe will really shock, many country have benefit, and also many country brooke..so many electronic or gadget corporation will annoying. USA will not able control the world again. and maybe bitcoin will be become alternate for many people on Europe and US. sometime think about it is amazing and make confuse.

The EU will not abandon the EURO, but upcoming countries whom had locked their currency with the USD, will look for alternatives. Most propably it will be the EURO or in an ideal world.. Bitcoin.
594  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin surpassed $300 USD. on: November 21, 2015, 11:11:49 PM
The price has been around $320 for 3 weeks now. That is a good consolidation after the recent pump and dump of bitcoin.

yes this is very good, we have a new stable prices at $300-320, which previously always at the price of $200-220.

If this is the final price after the decline from 500 usd, we should be very happy yes.

Let's hope it stays here, but my gut feeling says no. Something will happen, it will go up or down.. within a few weeks.
595  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $500 during november? on: November 21, 2015, 09:57:39 PM
Looks like it is dropping slowly but steadily.
-$10 since last night. Preev says $324 other markets say $328, weird.

Preev is an average weighted of several exchanges. Since they also use BTC-E (which has a lower price) the price on preev is lower. On the top right you can disable the source BTC-E which will give you an higher price.
596  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price impact of CLTV? on: November 21, 2015, 09:56:10 PM
I think it will effect the price because there will be less supply and thus the market will adapt to it.

But this is not so much important as the feature itself which is unique and very handy.
597  Economy / Economics / Re: How To Create Price Stability on: November 21, 2015, 09:54:55 PM
im my opinion stability will come if there a lot of people trading bitcoin, that way manipulating the price would be extremely hard and it would bring stability to the bitcoin economy.

The more bitcoin in more hands makes it harder to manipulate and so the whales can't do anything to manipulate the price.

I am afraid it will be years before this will happen though.

Yeah or most likely never. Since the whales would not want to let it go. So they keep on accuming more and more. if you had a golden goose you wouldn't let it go too right?
598  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Gold the root of all evil? on: November 21, 2015, 09:53:36 PM
Gold is just a lump from the ground. People are evil. If used tampons were the cast iron store of value then you'd be demonising that.

People will do everything evil to do harm their fellow humans. It's within ourself and though many of us have a right balance, some people can't resist the temptation.

Be it gold, bitcoin or usd evertyhing of value will change how some people thing and what they are willing to do...

Well said, the corrupted mind of some people are causing greed. It's not the asset itself but ignorance and greed which make people evil.

I can't understand why so many people choose to scam instead of makeing an honest living..

It's the nature of humans. Some are so weak or had a lack of education and thus choose the wrong path.

Frankly i can't feel bad for them, since it has to do with their bad karma.
599  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unable to ssh into S7 batch 4 on: November 21, 2015, 06:59:25 PM
Hi,

I want to pull some stats from the S7 miner, I can do it manually with http://10.1.1.222 and supplying root/root and that works fine, but for something automated, I would prefer to ssh into the box.  Seems it does not allow ssh with root.   Any thoughts?   Thanks, Louis

Please check this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=629997.0

You should be able to use putty and SSH into your miner?

Please note you can really mess up your software if you are inexperienced with SSH. So be carefull mate.

600  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: November 21, 2015, 06:57:18 PM

Slush being the first pools should be the main pool for al EU miners. it is way to small. For bitcoin's decentralization it would be good to have 1 of the top 2 pools being an EU/US pool

Currently many of the miners are in China...
