i'm curious to how easy it is to double spends. is it something average joes can learn to do or does it take some college kid genius with glasses and shit to do it?
would it be safe to accept with 0 confirms with, lets say a $10k purschase as a company?
It depends on attacker hashing speed how likely a double spend can be done. Also it matter only if the company cannot simply cancel the order/purchase after doublespend happens (this is know within one hour)

Technically, by the so-called "rules" of the thread, your signature must end in a question?
why would signature must end with question? Is LostDutchman signature a question ?

There are many users without 100 posts or without the required signature. Also some users have more than one post on the list.
Hey, this is copyrighted, look at my recent post: There are many users without 100 posts or without the required signature. Also some users have more than one post on the list.
This is how signature campaign works, people post something and exposure the paid signature. Both are happy, advertiser and poster...

Well, anyway 1st of january is just right away, in that day they will publish the list and maybe the winner list too.
There are many users without 100 posts or without the required signature. Also some users have more than one post on the list. This brings one question, given the rule: •If your signature does not contain (alone and on 1st line) one of these code snippet at any point in time before the 1st January, your post will be deleted from this thread. No re-entry.
Does it mean if the list is not finalized before 1st January (very likely ), those without the required signature will not be deleted from the list ? (How can Scrat Acorns know if the signature was removed before 1st January or on 1st January and later )

no worries, its normal for financial instruments to rise over 30% in a single weekend. Amazing.
The fast price rise doesnt smell right, seems we will see correction very soon. But how low, that is a question.

People are telling for some months now(after April) that the big crash is near.. Nobody knows it seems Correction is very likely to happen, but I hope not big crash to 2 digits

I'm not going to make a massive thread outlining the idea just yet. For now I just want some basic feedback on the idea.
I have a concept that I'm interested in developing that will allow users to sell and buy products via eBay using BTC's in a similar way eBay uses PayPal.
eBay does not like Bitcoin. Anything specifc you thought of ?

The only "bubbles" with bitcoin have been rapid > 10x price movements. The first in 2011 from 0.01 to ~30 and the second in 2013 from ~10 to 266.
Going from ~130ish to 266 is not a bubble by this metric.
We will be in bubble land if the price rapidly moves to >1,500. Until then this is a stable rise.
What characterize bubble is fast price increase, near the bubble pop is often even higher price increase. Im pretty sure we are in a bubble now, only question of time when the bubble pop

I just looked at the updated list of bitcoin faucets and similar sites that payout bitcoins for entering a captcha(sp?), watching ads, etc. I remember the days when only a few sites like this existed. The payouts (when bitcoins were worth less) were something like .0005BTC/an hour on some of the sites. I tried to remember to claim my free BTC as often as possible, but I'd forget a lot.
Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone really took advantage of sites like this back when they were offering higher payouts, and if they gained a significant amount of BTC from the sites. There has to be someone...
I was requesting coins from free faucets from early 2012 and stopped early 2013. It was not uncommon to receive 0.01 daily with little effort like 30min. I made most from dailybitcoin 1+ BTC (thank you), and coinad 0,5+ BTC (thank you), lower sums with many others. From Dragons Tale alone 2+ BTC (thank you). Total almost 5 BTC. I still holding these as Im Bitcoin collector

This is another reason why myself and others keep saying we haven't fully begun to enter the actual difficulty rise. CT is supposed to be shipping 2,000+ TH in one month, KNC is far above that, and so on/so forth. Leaps and bounds above current difficulty.
Im sceptical here, they might deliver so much in one month, but who will buy it after the price will be near production costs and way below ROI for minner ?

I think I've spotted an opportunity, so I'm looking for a 0.002 BTC loan, paid back within 30 days.
