501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you deny evidence? bitcoin has deluded all us on: March 07, 2015, 09:39:46 AM
There is definitively a lot of space for Bitcoin to rise in the number of people using it, and about the useless of Bitcoin because of cheap banking services: try send money worldwide to see how expensive it really is.
502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Satoshi make any comments about the initial 'imbalance' of Bitcoin wealth? on: March 07, 2015, 09:00:27 AM
The block reward halving is easiest way how to finally have certain amount of coins and slowly prepare miners for no block rewards after this event, so more and more tansaction fees become necessary to keep mining possible. With other distribution methods you need cut the block rewards dramatically when you reach certain amount of coins, which does not prepare miners for what is to be next.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: blockchain.info now shows CHINA mining 54% of BTC on: March 05, 2015, 09:32:08 AM
Centralized decentralization.  If they teamed up that entity would control the present and future of bitcoin; I don't like it.

The only theoretical problem could be if Chinese government took control over all the Bitcoin mining farms in China and 51% attacked Bitcoin.

But I can understand why these Bitcoin mining farms are located there - cheap electricity, labour and no vat on hardware

505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: March 02, 2015, 04:08:20 PM
If you keep Bitcoin 1MB block limit, people will be forced to use other altcoins as well, so you basically have to download all blockchains anyway because not everyone is going to accept Bitcoin, so you save nothing from this point.

In your logic you could download only what you're interested in. Not *all* chains.
Which is actually better than having to download one massive bloatchain.

I know, but if someone need full blockchain for Bitcoin it is reasonable to expect he will want full blockchain for whatever coin he may be required to use. I can argue having one bloatchain is much easier than manage tens or maybe hundreds different blockchains. It is the same as if there is one fiat currency accepted everywhere worldwide versus current situation with hundreds of fiat currencies worldwide. This is why I preffer just one coin, one blockchain. As long as you can manage the blockchain on one average or better PC, it is no brainer choice. You can run current Bitcoin full node even on very low end PC, 1GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, 100GB HDD...

506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: March 02, 2015, 03:33:56 PM
The Bitcoin wallets getting to big people. And downloading it go to slow, It took me 3 days to download. (I have 200MB up and Down INTERNET connection)

If you keep Bitcoin 1MB block limit, people will be forced to use other altcoins as well, so you basically have to download all blockchains anyway because not everyone is going to accept Bitcoin, so you save nothing from this point.
507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people should get rich and how much is rich? on: March 02, 2015, 03:04:38 PM
Does it matter if bitcoin's price is $1 $50 $100 $250 $300 $350, $1265, $2000, $5000?

In some extremes like $1 per Bitcoin it does matter, because there are limited amount of 21 million of Bitcoins, trades worth ten million $ in Bitcoins would be impossible.

509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is a solution without a problem? on: February 27, 2015, 04:20:37 PM
The biggest Bitcoin problem is having secure computer for your wallet. Hardware wallets can help here, but not every one. So definitively Bitcoin is not easy solution, but better than freezing part of your ballance because national debts has to be paid somehow, look at Cyprus, or the EU proposals for bank transfer taxes. The debt based currency is just joke, luckily Bitcoin becomes beter and better viable alternative as Bitcoin is more adopted and developed every year
510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kim Dotcom : " Let's give Bitcoin a boost " on: February 27, 2015, 04:08:06 PM
Let lawyers at courts work out what is legal and what is not, but in meantime blocking payments is pretty stupid. Luckily Bitcoin is open to everyone, unlike all other centralized paying systems.
511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tipping May Be Bitcoin's Next Killer Application on: February 27, 2015, 03:17:45 PM
ChangeTip who has grown to become one of the market leaders in the early bitcoin tipping industry in a span of less than 6 months for example, uses off-chain, and possibly soon, sidechain transactions to clear their inventories. Because of this, not every small tip needs to be recorded fully into the main bitcoin blockchain, but only references to the main network need to be made to ensure integrity among funds.

Actually not first attempt to make off-chain zero fee micropayment solutions. It works until someone transfer all ballance and disappears. TradeFortress is one example. This is always risk with any centralized service in my opinion
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Moscow-Based Security Firm Reveals What May Be The Biggest NSA "Backdoor Exploit on: February 20, 2015, 09:46:20 AM
Basically if installed in every device, a lot of lawsuits worldwide + bad publicity would destroy any big hardware producer. Thats why I believe it is only in targeted devices delivered for the one investigated
513  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this roughly how Bitcoin works? on: February 20, 2015, 09:23:06 AM
Basically I could set my old laptop that I dont use anymore to do this on a regular basis correct?  I understand that to really get into this, you do need more computing power than a single old laptop, especially to make more money at it so I would be pretty lucky to get anything.  But thats basically what I could do right?

Basically old laptop would work, but you will waste much more electricity than you get Bitcoins. Even with very specialized ASIC hardware for bitcoin mining you need the most power effecient one + cheap electricity to be profitable.
514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi donate some of the 1.500.000 bitcoins for Greece! on: February 20, 2015, 09:14:15 AM
What would be the point of anyone helping Greece other than Greece itself? Theyre spending money they dont have and they threathen to leave EU!

Basically almost every goverment spending money they dont have and increasing dept. Basically Bitcoin is for responsible people and as a society we are far from being responsible.
515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many Fiat users are Mentally Ill ? on: February 17, 2015, 09:37:10 AM
I would not say mentally ill, but naive and ignorant. Basically not educating themselves how monetary system works, because there is not interest to teach this at schools, it is like teaching slaves about freedoom...

517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the longest you have waited for one confirmation?? on: February 15, 2015, 09:24:50 AM
Once almost a day, but it was transaction without fee  Smiley

For the transaction with fee, almost two hours.

But these are extremes, in over 90% it is within 30 mins

519  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I "protect" my wallet on: February 07, 2015, 09:01:06 AM
I preffer hardware wallet. But there are more hardware wallets available on market so choose wisely Smiley. Generally hardware wallet without showing what is signing on its own display is less secure.
