581  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What a Company-based ICO should look like ? on: August 25, 2017, 04:39:28 PM
Hello ! I'm a newbie, but I am currently seeking informations about ICOs and, more precisely, how a company could make an ICO.

I am not talking about an ICO based on a new tech', or whatever. I'm talking about a company that, instead of doing the standard IPO on the "real" market, would create a coin, and sell it as a share. There would be no value, nor any use of the coin, except that it would literally be a percentage of the company's marketcap (a share, in a nutshell)

The thing is: what if I had a very healthy company, that could make a 10-fold turnover increase in a 3-year lifespan? Would you buy their coins if it was just an asset, and not a tech ? In which extent ? How should I define the numbers of coins / ICO prices ? That's be a shame to fail on that part if everything else is fine.

Something like this. I am really bad with how cryptocurrencies works, and more especially, on what ICO are based off.

Please, enlighten me

Depends on the country, if its US based - Best of luck to you.

Also there are several coins like this that essentially do a buyback of their coins which is equivalent to x percent of their profits.

France-based, even though we already entered the market of nearly 30 countries.
They do a buy-back ? Like, they buy all the coins back from investors ? What do they do, then ?
Please develop Smiley

I'm not on a personal computer to find the actual tokens/token names but for example:

Selling 1,000,000 tokens for $10 each (Usually much cheaper per token, just an example).  Lets say they raise $7,000,000 - 300,000 tokens are burnt.
The company has a buyback policy that 25% of their profits every 3 months will be used to buy back the outstanding 700,000 tokens at 5% below market price.

So 3 months rolls around and 25% of their profit is 1.5 million, enough to buy back 150,000 tokens at ICO price; However the stipulation is market price - 5%.  Market price in this scenario is $15 per token, so they place an order for $14.25 or approximately 100,000 tokens this allows people that would like to sell to take their profit and also lets the company honor its buyback policy.

Another example of this is a direct exchange option on the company's website:

Same ICO information as above.

Except in this scenario the company after x period of time buys back all tokens at a fixed rate (I'm thinking of the plastic company ICO) where its a specified buyback rate.  Creating a permanent floor for the lowest possible point the tokens would rationally ever be sold at, but they make no effort to personally go and buy off exchanges.

Scenario A) could lead to a token valuation of 10,000 each as the supply dries up
Scenario B) leads to a fixed cost where a company can factor this all in as a future expense.

nevermind ico is over I guess
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / . on: August 25, 2017, 03:46:44 PM
hello dev.. can i ask about the ico price of each token? what its base rate? 100 tokens per 1 usd? am i correct? so the price will be .01USD?

Its not per dollar, its per BTC. 100 to 150 PER BTC. I mentioned that it should be that you get the % of coins in ICO based on % of investment in ICO. The way it is now, it seems too expensive to me.

Its so expencive... 4$ for token?  Shocked
What hard cap?
When and where you planning trading? On which exchanges?

That's 40ish~ per token if its 100-150 each btc

What can I do to help the network of CV2.  Would it help if I would have multiple servers with different WAN IP adresses running the wallet 24/7 ? Would that be enough to make more people sync easier ?

It would help (I'm not sure how much though) most people have issues with keeping an up to date config file, honestly.  I don't think its necessary with the swap coming up, also got the link to the collosuscoin forums on the cv2 cryptopia exchanges now:

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange/?market=CV2_LTC

Hopefully that helps the people at cryptopia know about the swap well enough that they won't lose their coins  Smiley

I do not like to draw precipitous conclusions, but the coin seemed to attract investors' attention, but again it fell to a very low value.

It also did a 45x increase in the course of a week without a big exchange backing it.
It's not a huge surprise that it went down, and then went down significantly when btc started its run.  I will say I was honestly surprised at it getting this low nonetheless.

Then if bitcoin will continue to rise the coin will come down again?

Generally speaking all coins go down when bitcoin rises, because people think for example 4k-4400 with btc (10%) is more valuable than short selling at a loss from 6-4 sats (33%).  I'm unsure if its because traders tend to think about btc's price as opposed to any other coins value; or if they believe they can run with the bulls and hop back in before the dip that causes alt coin surges.

I got a feeling there is a pump coming here real soon. Any views on this.
How can we have a view on what your feelings are.  Smiley

Jokes aside, why do you think there will be a pump? I haven't read any news that would warrant such a pump.

Accumulation is going on. Is normaly followed by a pump.

It did this last time it shot up to 150k sats, means we'll find a new floor though Smiley

Still supporting the team. Any check out the blog post?

Didn't get the time to read their latest blog but was there any mention of the main-net launch event for the project?

Test net oct 4th, everything else on the roadmap delayed by the equivalent delay of the test net launch.

its like 2 month delayed? i hope all these delays will have a fruitful results.. i dont want to see delays and yet nothing happened.. i hope exscudo team will no longer delay (AGAIN) the test net on october.

Around 2 months yeah, I was trying to find the original release date to give an exact day #, but its kind of irrelevant to be that precise.

i also doubt x100 lol .. but i think the project will be a success regarding the time they are taking and the updates they give

if theybrelease the coin with all the features all ready i guess its no surprise if it will rocket up the moment it gets released. and probably the reason more are interested to buy exscudo account with bounties. if its going to be listed on exchangss like bittrex and binance, price will be high.

To be frank, I don't see big exchanges listing EON tokens, it is like helping your direct competitor. I will definitely be happy to see the token on big exchange like Bittrex but I don't see that happening now

I would agree. Exscudo will have to grow organically. That's why they will need a strong community support. I wonder why Exscudo doesn't use telegram. It's a great tool to build great community.

Exscudo will be listed on the usual exchanges. There are coins and projects already listed that are in competition with traditional exchanges. Exchanges make money off trading, doesn't matter what the coin is used for as long as it is popular and trades well.

I agree with you. This depends on the volume and popularity / user base of a coin, plus the future opportunities a coin holds.
Well if they continue with the entire roadmap it has alot og potential.

But why are you selling yours even without the exchange? Ain't that contradicts to what you believe in?

Investing takes time if you put all in your money to EXscudo and didn't set aside for some other ICO becuase you think the team will list it on exchange after the ICO, you did mess it up.    Grin

I was selling out of an issue I hold with how the ico was actually done, they still say the chat app is done.  It's just that don't say its done if you don't intend to release it, do note their most recent blog post still says the app is done.

Its not an issue with the projects ideas or what the project can be - just an issue with things that were said during the ico.

Also I get bored really quickly lol, and I was only intending to sell one of my exscudo accounts.   Smiley
592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / H.O.E. Hourly Oppurtunity Enterprise 1st Implied Consent & Completion Contract on: August 25, 2017, 12:40:38 AM
What is H.O.E.?

H.O.E. is a simple yet effective contract enabled on the ethereum network as an erc20 token.  It is the first token of its kind in the sense that you can use H.O.E.'s for any purporse you can think of! Providing the contract accepts the request of course, as this runs on a unique system that requires the contracts implicit consent.  After consent the contract will allow you to utilize your H.O.E.'s until completion providing the hourly rate is upkept.

What can I use a H.O.E. for?
Anything providing the contract accepts and can fulfill your request.

How much is the upkeep per H.O.E?
20,000 finney per hour.

What happens if upkeep is not paid?
The H.O.E. leaves you and returns back to its contract.

What are the benefits of having multiple H.O.E.'s?
By having enough H.O.E.'s you can enter a state called Processing Infastructure Management Protocol, P.I.M.P. for short.

How does being a P.I.M.P. benefit me?
By being a P.I.M.P. you can over time generate H.O.E.'s which then become bound to your contract or Ethereum address.  These can in turn be rented to other users and take priority over the cental H.O.E. distribution network.

Coin supply information:
Coin ticker: HOE
ICO supply: 100,000 H.O.E.
95,000 H.O.E.'s will be sold for .02 Ethereum each.
5000 will be used to maintain the central H.O.E. distribution network.
Annual APR for P.I.M.P's 25% first year, 2% all subsequent years.
All raised Ethereum will go to placing H.O.E.'s on every exchange possible.

About the dev team:
The original P.I.M.P. and manager of the H.O.E. distribution network in the middle with both the marketing and legal P.I.M.P.'s:

This may or may not be satire depending on the interest level of the community.

Since the last Airdrop in November isn't given out as a percentage based on the amount of BTX you hold I think there is an issue. Its given out to each address equally with whats left correct?
How did you come to this conclusion? AFAIK the last big airdrop is everybody gets a part from the remaining "premine" as big as their share of current circulation before the airdrop is. The same amount for everybody address would clearly make no sense.

no, its distributed evenly across all the addresses, what left -- the premine.. so if there is 200,000 btx left and there is 7000 addresses, its 200,000 divided by 7,000 addresses. that's how it was explained by the devs on previous occasions. unless that's changed.
Not right. It does not matter how much wallets you have. You will get the percentage that you have from the total amount before the final airdrop. By my calculations your deposit will increase about 15 times.

Yes, this seems like the only sensible way to do it.
Would be good to get some official clarification from the team as to exactly how it will work.

If your calculations are right about a 15x increase in price then even if the price is gonna fall 90% in the post airdrop dump, we are still better off holding.

Its closer to 20x if everything froze right now.  X) 3% weekly airdrops are included in this already.

I think its split evenly among holders, otherwise we'll see a mad rush to generate new addresses.

I.e. if you hold 20% of circulating supply you get 20% of final airdrop.

You don't see the big picture in here guys! Espers indeed went 5-6x low in the past couple months, due to the BTC price, lack of updates, FUD, etc... But let's take a look where Espers was 1 year ago. Was worth 1000x less then it is now (a quarter of $0.000001). So in my opinion espers is doing well to be just 5-6x lower then it's all time high of 36 sats , take a look at CHC = 52x down; posw = 20x down; XCN = 10x down; XBB = 15x down and so on... Indeed is bad for the investors but this is crypto, a high volatile market, coins and assets. Maybe you are now saying, "ok is easy for you to speak because you didn't invested in espers at 30 sats like me". True I didn't invested in espers at 30, but I did in SYS at 9000+ sats and in POSW at 3500+ sats because I belived in their projects. I still do, and if I'll end up losing the money... that's crypto, is the risk I have taken when I invested.

//Not saying it as a sell now thing.

Saying it because he doesn't seem to understand how the price dropped.

Is there some light weight wallet for BTX? I don't want to download 10GB+... .

I don't know what wallet you use, the windows 0.14.1.6 https://github.com/LIMXTEC/BitCore/releases/tag/0.14.1.6 blockchain is just under 50MB.

If I download Windows-0-14-1-6.zip and then run bitcore-qt.exe, it will start downloading everything!

 Huh
That is right....it needs more time the first time...its the newest core, which is the reason for a longer starting.
You only have to wait till its ready.

Greetz
Steve

That's why I'm looking for some light wallet. Something like Electrum... .
Where's the problem? The chain is atm really small. It's just around 50MB
Maybe hes downloading it on a gameboy, they don't have much memory.

I think u guys should promote the final airdrop more with countdown on your website or sth like this. And the percentage gains at this moment( a calculator or sth, where u can see how much coins u have after final airdrop and how much money that would be. We could post this via facebook twitter etc.

Big problem with the calculator is most people won't know what to use as factors for it, but with a direct api from the explorer or cmc its usable.
