Yobit wallet down bleh

It was down over a month ago.  If you want to trade, there is alcurex and novaexchange for VTY market.  Though I think it was listed in megacrypton too but now I cannot find it there.  I deposit some of my VTY there but I cannot see it anywhere.  I think megacrypton just stole the VTY deposited on thier exchange and maybe the reason why there are huge amount being sold at 1 satoshi.

This is why we really need VTY to be listed on a more trusted exchange as Yobit's wallet is always in maintenance and the other exchanges are okay but not the best. I would like to see VTY listed on Cryptopia for now as this exchange is a good exchange and then once VTY starts to get bigger then we can start to think about getting it listed on Polo and Bittrex. Even C-cex might be okay for now if it can get listed on there.
I just hope yobit fixes their wallet at this point lol.

Yeah itd be out in the open, also I wouldn't trust leaving it out of sight with my coworkers.  Its becoming a tricky thing given the circumstances lol

id say just screen lock and enable a loud tone to emit on first failed login, then again, this could also work the other way and get you fired if you work with trolls?
But you don't think they will notice a heavy load on their network coming from you mining?
They will track it down to your laptop and then you will get fired.
Haven't you heard of that FBI agent who got caught using the federal bureau of investigation's network and servers for mining a little while ago? He was doing it for years but now they know what bitcoin is all about and everyone and anyone are enough to go to great lengths they are willing to sacrifice their own careers over.
The ones who monitor your network will know what it is now, not like in 2013 when it was just seen as regular "network traffic" and just swiped it off as Nancy just online shopping on multiple sites again. Kiss
You will get caught. There is no doubt about it.
That is unless you work in the I.T department and are the sole one to watch the network traffic and looking for high levels. Cause your co workers will report you to get your position that is if you higher then he is or a friend of theirs on the I.T crew just for your troubles. Wink
Unless you can give them all a cut of that mined coin. Such as hush money for you to keep your job and not reporting your actions to the networking department's director. Cause then it will be his head on the chopping block.

Oh the wifi is for the employees, and we got told we can bring a laptop to work because there is alot of downtime.

So there won't be any issues like that, and either way I still need a laptop just looking to make it multi task.

Market watch has the  story on the vox coin equity swap

Minimum 2million needed thats prob to much for most, only max 15 contributors

Yeah, they say everyone's on even ground - I mean I have 6m voxels and even I'm against this minimum requirement.

I think 100k would be more realistic and let the average person own a piece of something bigger.

I'm guessing they don't want the hassle of 300 possible investors.

That being said, it is unfortunate that many don't get to participate.

Only a max of 13 :l lol

I'm estimating with that laptop you'll probably get MAX 200 h/s mining XMR... at today's price that's about $0.39/day, and only if you're mining the full 24 hours. If you speed 8hrs at work that's $0.13 per day.

ROI would be: 15358.69 days, which is 42.07860274 years. This is assuming you go to work 365 days a year. LOL

Better solution: Buy a cheap laptop and build and ACTUAL RIG!! Smiley

With today's prices, RIO is only 4-6 months.

</thread>

If i do an actual rig though I get stuck paying electricity d: .20 per kw was mainly the reason I was looking to multi task it in this fashion.

Also should be able to swing a 540 hashrate with the 1070 just using minergate ~

There is a recent version of CCMINER which will do 650-700h/s in cryptonight on a 1070.

But I thought you were referring to a laptop with a 1060 in it, not a 1070?

Between the two choices - the $1500 version has a 1060 (est 250-350 hash) the 1800 has a 1070 (est 540-650 hash)
I waa thinking its ineffective paying 300 for that upgrade but ~ almost doubling the hashrate makes me indecisive.
you'd be better off spending that 1.5k on 3-4 470s and settling with equihash for worthwhile returns instead of cryptonote - https://whattomine.com/coins/167-zcl-equihash?utf8=%E2%9C%93&hr=1080.0&p=600.0&fee=2.0&cost=0.2&hcost=1500&commit=Calculate, http://mycryptobuddy.com/MiningHardware

Can't take that to work with me though -> therefore the .20c electricity cost would kill me.
you could kit out a portable case and setup where ever your laptop was going to be if you're just buying a few?
if its out in the open, with others trying to work i get why it wouldn't be suitable, but if its a matter of there's a spare room and you can place it there, i don't see why it'd be an issue.
plus $7 daily returns for a coffee/monero or two, that is after withdrawal and tx fees.

as for home use, yes, you'll end up in the negative forking out electricity expenses :/
only other thought is to save up for a larger rig and find a decent colo provider in a state where kWh are below 10 cents

Yeah itd be out in the open, also I wouldn't trust leaving it out of sight with my coworkers.  Its becoming a tricky thing given the circumstances lol

This may be a dumb question - researching while driving.

With the btc fork looming, does this impact komodo at all? I.e. choosing sides, being hurt if btu wins etc.

Thank you.

KMD doesn't seem to move independently of BTC price very much and it is traded only in BTC pair, so when BTC drops, it makes KMD worth less.  A fork would almost certainly lead to lower BTC price, and therefore lower KMD price is likely in that case.

I see, thank you.  I thought the actual cryptocurrency relied on the btc blockchain phew lol

1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Primecoin quiet accumulation? on: March 28, 2017, 05:17:22 AM
Was browsing through random coins and scrolled out over the last week on primecoin (at least on polo) theres random periods of a purchase shooting the price up and vanishing - once a day mostly - quiet accumulation for the next pnd?

Also side note;
https://particl.io = increase in sdc in the next two days or so?

Only on Yobits for now but do not buy them there.Their wallet is stuck in maintenance and has been since 2015 they are on the wrong chain anyways is what I was told.We are trying though'If it gets voted in at Poswallet it will be added to their exchange as well.

Oh phew lol alright I'll cast a vote in there and keep an eye on this thread.

Thank you  Smiley

Is this coin on any exchanges other than yobit?

(I checked bittrex and it isn't on there anymore)

Was hoping to get enough to set up several nodes.

all it makes no difference but laptop or PC Faster 100 times slower than the average modern and more efficient ASIC 50 times.

Cryptonotes are asic resistant, thank you for not reading the entire post.

I don't he gets how mining works.
A laptop architecture is bottlenecked to what a mining rig with 5x more gpu power can do and an asic with 50x more processing power that ANY LAPTOP on the market or ever created will be able to do.
You will be mining in 1 day what something else can do in 5 minutes.
So you will be 35 by the time you you even get 1 btc mining with a laptop no matter how powerful, new or expensive it is.
So tell us, is that worth an explanation to you yet?
If not then think of it this way.
Workstation for 3d animation compared to Apple II doing Draw. There is no comparison there man!

I think you did not read the entire thread, I've said twice I'm not mining bitcoin.  I'm mining the cryptonotes; xmr, xdn, aeon etc.
It is asic resistant, it requires a cpu/gpu to mine so the power of those two items - which is why those two were specifically mentioned in the initial post - are the only items of concern for this mining.
1339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Laptop mining question on: March 27, 2017, 03:19:34 AM
You cannot meaningfully mine bitcoin with a PC by itself. The fastest PCs are 1000 times slower than the average modern ASIC and 500 times less efficient. So laptop or PC makes no difference, you cannot meaningfully mine bitcoin.

If you're talking about altcoin mining though, that's a different story.

I did say I mine cryptonote stuff :l
But you know that laptops head up very fast and having a fast gpu even heats up the entire laptop even faster.
So running it 24/7 which mining rigs are running to be able to do anything in their pool would potentially damage a laptop and lower it's life expentency.

True, which is why I'm aiming for one with a warranty so when it does eventually die I can just replace ~
