5801  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think the price of bitcoin will be 1 year from today (feb 2015)? on: February 09, 2014, 09:09:12 AM
I like to look at past trends and the history of bitcoin has been phenominal.  What price do you think 1 btc will cost one year from today (feb 2015)?

From seeing the past trend it seems to be exponential to me.

You might do well to consider the possibility of Bitcoin not even existing by Feb 2015. I am not saying that I think this will happen; although it is certainly possible that this star has shone too bright too soon, I am just saying that it might do your frame of mind the world of good to consider this possibility and the many ways that a Bitcoin death event might be brought about.

If you came to Bitcoin back in October or November with your obvious level of enthusiasm and anxiety to get invested. You would have done very well. But it is a very different market right now. Instead of dreaming about exponential profits, try focussing on learning to read these markets and choosing a good entry point, and then nursing your position and ensuring that you aren't going to go underwater on it. Let Feb 2015 take care of Feb 2015 itself.

I will bet you 25BTC that Bitcoin will indeed exist in Feb 2015.

Malwarebytes is blocking me from getting in. Should I be worried about getting on the site?

Does Malwarebytes know how bad you are at poker?  Could be that? Wink

Malwarebytes may have blacklisted SWC back when there was a security problem which has been fixed since.

Pfff. This used to be a thread about meaningful TA.

No.  This was always a thread about one man's ego.  The title shows that.

3/Jackson believed that ONLY the government should be allowed to deal with money supply, not banks or any other entity: so what about bitcoins?

i am not trolling, just trying to understand whats in stake at my little level.

At the time that was the safest, fairest option.  Now there is an even better option for that power to be out of the hands of any elite group.

Of course those elite groups will continue to try to form and seize power from the masses even when they claim to be doing so in the best interests of said little people.

This, for example, is an abominable flaunting of that intention in my opinion:

Major announcement: There is a new private bitcoin forum online. If you belong to the top contributors here, please PM and I will send you an invitation. Finally a place to take the discussion to a new level!  Smiley

No vacancies currently, thank you Smiley

Hi! im new on this!

I have beeing registered to sealswithclubs! 1 hour ago!

I wants to play the freerols 150k krill freerol, 50k krill freerol... etc

How can i get the password? In my account, on web page says Registration links for your krill freerolls will appear here 4 hours before start time.

Krill is the player reward/loyalty system at SWC.

You earn krill each hand you play at cash, and for tournament entries (I think).

Once you have earned 150,000 in krill you will be invited to that freeroll.

At 1250 krill you become eligible for the 600 chip freeroll that runs every 100 hours.
At 5000 krill you become eligible for the 1000 chip freeroll that runs every 200 hours.
At 25000 krill you become eligible for the 2000 chip freeroll that runs every 400 hours.
At 50000 krill you become eligible for the 3000 chip freeroll that runs every 500 hours.
At 150000 krill you become eligible for the 5000 chip freeroll that runs every 800 hours.

What part about ''After January 31st'' don't you understand? It's after January 31st 2014 from now until the end of times.

He can never be proved wrong.  LOL.
5809  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: February 01, 2014, 02:18:31 AM

Also I removed mtgox from my graphs. It seems they trade with fake fiat they don't really have in backup which causes paradox price movements not confirmed with other exchanges.

This is unfortunately a likely serious problem... And I know it's more fundamental than TA, but it is going to be a very powerful influence when Gox blows up.
5810  Economy / Speculation / Re: January 31st chinese new year seems to have no effect on bitcoin price on: January 31, 2014, 06:42:38 PM
I was expecting the price to fluctuate some because of all the speculation about January 31st (which is today)
Will it take time for the prices to show effect.
Will there be any effect at all?

You must have slept through the big fluctuation when the news was released.  BTC took a 30% hit and has stayed there.  If you are awake now you MIGHT see what the market decides to do in response to the fact that nothing happened on CNYear.  In a rareish event is has remained undecided up to the actual moment.

January 31st, the Downfall of Bitcoin

Funny how the  price is just humming along without a blip on Chinese exchanges today...

Did you see in one hour on the 29th more than $8 MILLION USD (元50 million) in BTC were PURCHASED on Chinese exchanges in about an hour?

Wait am I appealing to a troll?  What is wrong with me?

I believe CONFIRM that briefcase contained the 100K+ signatures needed to have Obama ponder the idea of kicking the beebs out of the states.

Umm thread is for BAD news...

I'm not so sure that the fundamentals of ecornomics will allow yet another cryptocornency to dilute the market

But this is as of yet uncornfirmed. Any foreign language sources?

Oh no.  Not again...

Confirmers, it's time we get serious about the development of a better cryptocurrency.  I've been inspired by the work of Professor Williams, and in his glorious honor I propose we begin collaboration on bitcorn - the worlds first best cryptocurrency.  I don't know how to program, so I'll need help.

It's a cryptocornancy.

And each confirmation must be confirmed.
I can confirm your confirmation. This means that 1 out of 6 confirmations is now fully confirmed.

I also confirm what I wrote. If someone could confirm my confirmation, we will have 2 out of 6 confirmations.

CONFIRMED

CONFIRMED for 6/6

To confirm this I have done a regression analysis of the confirmations received so far on the news chain.

This source appears to conclusive and foreign. 102% confirmation shows the martingale leveraged shorts are in control of the order book having shotred more than BTC supply.

I am sorry to have found another fully confirmed chart...  Sad

Fair play to you for taking the hit and pulling out of Gox - this blight on the BTC ecosystem needs to go down. I am assuming from your words that you have taken cashed out completely. Did you receive the BTC without problems ?

Even though Gox has shrunken significantly the combination of the public perception that it sets the actual BTC price combined with the erroneous conception that it is the leading exchange makes it's eventual demise possibly painful for us...

if you want, I think it's best to express one's calmness by going with the standard-font un-bold "I am not a special snowflake" type of text so that we all understand the issue is not of "bold importance" k thankx

5819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fork The Blockchain And Block The Seized FBI Coins. on: January 27, 2014, 08:40:25 PM
Don't think this is something that is possible to do.
It would be totally possible to create a fork of the Bitcoin chain to do this.  Trouble is, the people who suggest these thing over and over and over never get past the talking/posting about their ideas and on to the doing it stage.

I get the impression that a lot of people think talking about something is the same thing as doing it and that is just not true.

Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean it is a good idea.

Hopefully most of the people smart enough to code a new coin with a fork of the blockchain are also smart enough to reason through why this would actually do far more damage to bitcoin than good if it were successful.

The continued seeming interest in the ideas of this thread depress me slightly.

Micon give me my chips from the buy-in and a compensation for the lost time back!!
My user name: Bassimo
I was in the BigBTC when it disconnected and site was unreachable. I just wrote an email to support@sealswithclubs.eu but no reaction!!! You want to scam me after all the BTCs you got from me with me playing on your site??

Be patient.  They make these things right.  Over and over.
