It affects security and challenges the state power of Thailand and it is intolerable," he said.

How fragile must the state power of Thailand be when a floating bathtub challenges it? Perhaps they should fire torpedoes at every fish that enters their waters too, just to be extra safe.

Yeah, that guy and his girlfriend with their platform could launch a night assault on the capitol at any time, must per-emptively strike to protect Sovereignty.

Despite previous info, maybe they are not out of danger just yet.

VAdm Sitthiporn Matkasem ...

I read "shittiporn" and for a moment thought it was a friendly nickname for an infamous coprophile.

LOL, Mcafee...

My theory: Vinny Lingham and Tone Vays are being paid to gain trust/followers and lie to the public. It's the only thing that explains them being consistently bearish... and wrong.

I've seen the same shit going on with other so-called "Crypto Experts" on YouTube. They're always shilling for shitcoins, down or bearish on Bitcoin. It's always the ones that have garnered the most followers.

Vays, who generally annoys me, does identify as a BTC Maximalist.  And his tweets clearly support that...

There is no such thing as #crypto (even though I sometimes use that term). There is #Bitcoin, there are waste of time useless projects like $XMR, $LTC, & other PoW honest #Blockchains and there r SCAMS like $ETH, $DASH, $XRP and all #ICO's like $BNB, $EOS, $ADA & of course $TPAY

W0w, he upgraded XMR and LTC to "Useless" ! LOl

My bank has charged me over $150 in "courtesy fee's" this month.

"Police have contacted all relevant agencies to determine what further possible legal action can be taken aganst them, in addition to charges under Section 119... All laws relating to this matter will be enforced," Pol Maj Gen Wisarn said.

Section 119 of the Criminal Code relates to national sovereignty.

VAdm Sitthiporn Matkasem, the 3rd Naval Area commander, said the couple's action had affected national sovereignty. They had put a floating house in place and invited others to join them at their location, which they claimed to be autonomous.

"It affects security and challenges the state power of Thailand and it is intolerable," he said.

Quote
"It is on rented land... Officials will check if any nominee runs it. Any government officials who were involved will be decisively disciplined," the governor said.

Fucking pieces of shit running that country.

I am sure Elwar paid more than that for his seastead.

I very much doubt it.  I have been watching the whole process and they were admirably frugal right along.  They used local labor, welded up the spar out in the open, not even in a shop.  Dragged it around with whatever they could scrounge up.

Elwar is NOT profligate with his money, they shopped around for their little boat for some time, and ended up buying a fixxer upper.

I would be quite surprised if there was more than $120K into the prototype all inclusive.

True, I believe the main objective was to make it cost effective for the average American so the line was probably around 100K and he posted a bare minimum spar price of 35 or 40k IIRC. Don't quote me on that <<--shit my memory sucks.
5827  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 23, 2019, 02:39:22 PM

It is frustrating waiting isn’t it my friend. We could be sitting on absolute gold mines but most of us have to wait for the price to increase fairly significantly to realise those riches.

It’s frustrating working, kissing ass at work & continuing about your daily business when in a few years we can probably all say ‘fuck you’ & walk out.

Nothing comes easily so patience it is. One day brother, one day.

Ugg.. so feeling this...

Made doubly so, since upper management around here has seemingly recently adopted the attitude of "the beatings will continue till moral improves" ..

63... that's my number.. 63K...  the day it hits 63K, I put in my notice....

hookers and blow will, unfortunately, have to wait for an order of magnitude above that...  Sad

Just make sure you don’t sell everything at 63k. Whatever you continue to HODL can act as a pension pot when you’re old & wrinkly. State & bank pensions fucking suck any way.

I don’t even know what 1 bitcoin will be worth when I’m retirement age but I’d be willing to bet it’ll be a fuck load more than if I put £200 a month into a shitty bank based pension.

My bank has charged me over $150 in "courtesy fee's" this month.

I don't know why would anybody risk his life to build a "seastead" while you can buy one of these:
BAVARIA C57

The interior is huge. There are people who actually live on these boats. Life is too short to risk it against dumb/corrupt governments. He already has the money to buy even a bigger boat than this and can live with his girlfriend without worrying about anything.

You don't want to be in that when the swells are up there and with that you cannot build your own Coral reef and work toward self sustainability not to mention the upkeep on that will be prohibitive very quickly in that location.

Did Fudsters run out of Fud?

Remember in 14 and 15 when US Marshals would announce a Silk Road Bitcoin auction every time we had a strong rally.

No more auctions.

China Bans dont work anymore.

Chinese Miners cant block Segwit anymore.

Big Blockers already forked themselves into irrelevance and shame.

Craig Wright Fud isnt moving the market anymore.

Bitcoin uses all the electricity in the galaxy doesnt work anymore.

What will Fudsters do now?Huh?

Is this the end of FUD?

100k soon  Cheesy ??

Add this ... Mt. Gox coins no longer held over our heads like an axe.

Fud will show up after the first major dump by the institutions and they will be coordinated just like 2019 with seized BTC to help them along. But if we can absorb that ammo then they will be in for a rude awakening. Of course then they will get newly printed fiat to accumulate for another shot at it but at least that takes time.

I'm not sure if you've noticed but the

Thats why stories like the one Hairy linked just die but everyone knows what retarded thing a Kardashian said.

Old news.  Just everyone has forgotten because Coinbase scandals are so regular.

They forget it because they just don't care, the world is full of pop culture mush minds and it just gets worse everyday.

On a side note until I googled that image I had no clue what they looked like.

@HairyMaclairy. Put yourself in a grin miner's situation and ask yourself what holds its value better, grin or bitcoin? I reckon the first 10 years of grin's price might move similar to what we are seeing in dogecoin.

@Cryptotourist. This might go sub $1.00. I already learned my lesson in bagholding Aeon. I will not do it again hehehe.

I will be very patient on grin.

I think we all learn the hard way. Smiley

Bitcoin spenders can now use the lightning network to shop at e-commerce sites like Amazon.
Crypto payment processing startup Moon announced today that any lightning-enabled wallet can now also be used through Moon’s browser extension.
Before this lightning feature, roughly 250 beta users already used Moon to spend crypto on e-commerce sites by connecting the browser extension to exchange accounts like Coinbase.

Interesting. I'd like to know more about what it means to "connect[ing] the browser extension to exchange accounts like Coinbase".

a few years ago i ordered something from overstock.com as i think they were among the 1st retailer to accept btc (or at least the 1st retailer i would use). i dont recall exactly how i paid but i remember it was through something like bitpay or something. it displayed a qr code and btc addy with a timer, i copy/pasted the btc addy and paid from my core wallet on my desktop.

few days later i would up returning the item, and the refund went to my coinbase account. which i did not use to pay for the item, as i said it was paid with my core wallet.

they musta figured it out it was me from my shipping address maybe. i looked in my coinbase tx history just now  and all it says is refund for order xxxxx. no amount or other description.

gonna hunt through emails and such to see if i can find more info on how that went.

anyway maybe they will pull something like that..

---------------------------

ok found this in my email from mid 2017:

Quote
From: Coinbase [no-reply@coinbase.com]
To: xxxxxxxx

Overstock.com just sent you 0.xxxxx BTC (worth $xx.xx USD) using Coinbase.
Attached message:
InvoiceId: xxxxxxx, InvoicePaymentId: xxxxxx, refundAmount: USD xx.xx

EDIT: and just found the payment in my desktop core wallet labeled "to overstock for xxx" and the amount matched with a tx time about a week earlier.

so how did they match that up..

That seems frightening.

After Goldmann Ballsacks bought Poloniex they sent me a email with my name although I never gave them any identifying info and the only official thing that was tied to that email was coinbase.

They still have my coins hostage until I agree to their TOS and fill out a KYC.

Fuck those institutional insider cocksuckers.

The real question is, why do you like to convince the retarded people all day? Are you really that retarded to realise realize that it's useless to convince the retarded people?  Huh

And spell checking isn't  necessary but it does show you at least put a modicum of effort into your post. FTFY

Or maybe you should put a modicum of effort into searching a bit before you criticise somebody? Realise and realize, both are OK:

https://www.grammarly.com/blog/realise-realize/

HAH, Good point, I didn't realise that! Cranky having withdrawals right now.
-1WO for me. Smiley

For a bit of clarification, my post had no intentions of being in favour of r0ach.

Yeah, but a vast majority of spammers pop up in here quoting the trolls and arguing with them for merit mining and it gets annoying.

Any vapers here. Cheesy

Yup, coming up on 8 years without a cig. I buy BTC instead.

Fuck this post put me in jonesing for a smoke mode! Been back on the patch for 2 days and had about 4 smokes during that time. I'm out now and had some massive chest pains when chewing gum the other day so I have just been taking a nibble of gum at times like this.

If I had a button to push to kill every fucking manufacturer that added chemicals to increase addiction then I would push it in a heart beat!

I am dumping this BSV and holy shit, jbreher this thing sucks, I have been waiting over an hour and a half for 5 confirmations. How slow are these damn blocks?

Haha, wait till they get reorged and orphaned.

Not being able to sell is a strategy many shady as shit exchanges use as well to prop up price while they dump. Smiley

I never thought it was dangerous or anything the seasteading, I don’t think its my life to live there, if it succeed and it was able to visit, Then I Will for sure....
Also I don’t think its a stupid idea, as we are all human and dream of different things.... Elwar’s dream is one difficult to achieve and need lot of thinking and work, such thing can only be supporter as its not harming anybody or causing problems to anybody.... There are not many among us with such idea’s and just say F*** it i’m just gonna do and try to realize that dream.
Of-course first be safe, the re-think everything and see what the best lotions are, but try to achieve your lifegoal Elwar so you can always look back and just say I did it Smiley  (as long you stay a COINER its all good for the WO) Grin

I know they spent a long time negotiating with French Polynesia so I assumed they would do the same anywhere they went as haveing a freinly Gov where you get your supplies seems like a no brainer. So I really would like to hear the whole story when Elwar is safe.

@Elwar, we are thinking of you and your better half and thats really all we can do from here unless otherwise directed.

Great interview on the What Bitcoin Did podcast: https://www.whatbitcoindid.com/podcast/peter-rizuns-lightning-critique-fud-or-fair

I assume a number of you will summarily dismiss this, rushing to judgement before examining the evidence. But for the open-minded, certainly worth a listen.

I am truly looking forward to the necessitated responses from the LN-faithful. Well, to the extent that such responses be substantive. If this conversation carries forward in a respectful manner, we may all learn a thing or two.

edit: Incidentally, this has been 'Lightning Month' on What Bitcoin Did. Quite a few good installments, each focusing on a different aspect of Lightning.

Well. since it's not Wednesday I guess I'll engage for a second.

Quote
Peter Rizun is firmly in the large block camp, and while there are questions over his previous thoughts and work, he is technical, and he offers a harsh eye over the Lightning Network. Yes, Peter’s approach has a bias, he wants the Lightning Network to fail to support his vision of larger blocks, but does this make his claims invalid?

Possibly and probably as I didn't see anything to the ability to add dynamic blocks, nor make a change at a later date as the current size is doing just fine overall.

There seems to be 2 camps and both are wrong.

Camp 1 is BTC is perfect and should never be changed ever (although they support lightning which seems to fly in the face of this).
Camp 2 is we need m0ar cores Blocks NOW !!!!! Drool....NOW!!!! (cause I hold bags of shit).

I don't know why everything has to get boiled to a binary choice, it is never black and white, the world is full of degrees and certainly nothing is ever perfect except for that one chick in that one moment in time and then well we know where that goes.
