5841  Economy / Economics / Re: The Risks and Rewards of Cryptocurrencies on: September 15, 2019, 07:30:46 AM
Risks are much higher exactly in the crypto world. Cyberattacks are the greatest problem here, and literally for all. The hacker attacks are becoming more common, and fraud methods are becoming much more sophisticated.
It is possible to prevent them by keeping your wallet keys safe and use a hardware wallet if you the money to buy it. It is considered to be a good security investment for big traders who have a large volume portfolio. Cyberattacks are always there with any digital format commodity or service. You have to learn to protect your funds.

Quote
Bitcoin wallets and the large amounts that are traded are extremely attractive to thieves.
Attractive yes, hackable - not so if you secure them.

Quote
Crypto exchanges have been hacked constantly, and many of them have to close.
Hence dont store coins there after you are done exchanging. You will be in control of your coins then.
5842  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the day trading profitable ? on: September 15, 2019, 07:27:39 AM
How you measure preparedness? We could only say that we are prepared for this if we feel no regrets in every decision we have to make.
Willingness to put our money at risk and possible time to be wasted.
One who is prepared to lose money is prepared enough. In trading you lose a lot of money if you end up putting your money in the wrong coins. But putting them in the top few coins can also make you lose money for a short period of time. So day trading would not be everyone's cup of tea. If you want to remain healthy without having to check prices all day and sleepless nights, you could simply buy bitcoins and hold for long term gains before selling them and buying again.

Quote
Isn't profitable anymore, if it will continue like this...we are just wasting our time for nothing and possible for losses in the coming days.
Yeah maybe 10% gain/loss is a bit excess since the market is not moving that much these last 2months but it is possible and traders would take advantage at least try to for even 3-4% gains.
5843  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What’s Stopping Crypto Markets from Entering the Mainstream on: September 15, 2019, 07:22:01 AM
For every new innovation, it is expected to react like this. Most people are still on the fence watching the big thing which is blockchain technology. This will surely enter the mainstream in view yeard ahead when it is globally accepted because that is where blockchain technology is driving to
Those who know how blockchain technology works would rather get involved. If you have been to any crypto meetup you would see the same. Many venture capitalists come there to meet up with project developers and other investors to take part in projects of their liking. Not that all of them are going to to be good but its a bustling market there. But thats more of a niche group even if they are big-cap investors.

Many countries have made blockchain technology to be accepted but bitcoin to be made illegal. These type of stance makes things worse for entrepreneurs.
5844  Other / Meta / Re: Should we have an anti-scam board? on: September 14, 2019, 08:59:41 AM
Would it be useful to have a board providing scam avoidance advice, and discussing possible scam of very high risk projects?
A set of advice as a pinned message is enough. No need for another new section for it. Also many topics are subjective here based on suspicion and often lack of evidence makes people think them to be scam while they actually may not. Again the reverse is also true but rare.

Since these discussions are often based on mutual talk this section would only become another spam fest like Bitcoin Discussion and Economics.

Quote
If the board was topic specific, it might help to save a few rabbits from losing their carrots.
Those who are destined to lose their carrots will always lose them whatever measures you try to take to save them. Users need to become more vigilant and learn from their mistakes instead of being spoonfed with information.
5845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking system and BTC on: September 14, 2019, 08:55:11 AM
They will not say it, but the government has been already did it buy totally regulated countries.
Not sure what you are trying to say, but it is true that the banking system is often the mouthpiece of the government and how they want to keep the economy. Of course private banks run on their own accord but government banks exist and they have to follow the norms.

The problem with crypto is that it being unregulated is often a source of illegal earning from many sources and this is what they government is trying to control. They are right in their process, but they also end up hunting those who are innocent. I hope one day this can get sorted although it does not seem it will and then maybe one day governments would become pro-crypto.
5846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling just for fun? on: September 14, 2019, 08:51:58 AM
No one gambles absolutely for fun, at least there must be an idea of winning or making money through it at the back of your mind, which increases tension and I see no fun in that.
Yup, losing money is never fun. They say they are doing it for fun because they fell that others are going to judge them if they tell the truth. That not true though because most people are open minded about what their friends are doing. But having to tell them that you are losing money because of your addiction sucks and so they use this lie.

Quote
When the term gamble for fun is used, I think what is meant is one should not put ones entire hope in gambling, but should rather take it as a fun activity, where you test your prediction skills Grin, that way it'll reduce the negative effects losses would have on you.
That applies for sports betting but not to games like dice, slots and others where the expected value is negative. There it is just fire and forget.
5847  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buy bitcoin in malaysia? on: September 14, 2019, 08:48:30 AM
How to sell btc to myr in this forum.?
If you are looking to convert bitcoin to your local currency, there are several options available.
1. Sign up on a exchange that accepts local currency. Get yourself verified there and then start trading as you wish. Be aware of trading risks and fees.
2. Use localbitcoins to set up a P2P deal with another person living in your country.
3. Use the forum's Currency Exchange section to set up a deal. This is the least secure one among these three options. Use a trusted escrow to deal and never send first. Remember that bitcoins once sent are gone forever and this section of the forum is full of scammers.
5848  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: I am not receiving my authorization email from blockchain.com | Hushmail on: September 14, 2019, 08:44:39 AM
-snip-
First time I am hearing about this email service. Did you not do some little bit of research about where to open an account on? We have much secure ones like protonmail or even Gmail for that reason. Many of them like Yahoo have problems receiving authetication emails so I guess thats what might be wrong here. Since you are also thinking the same, why no try changing the email or make a new account after creating a new email?

Not sure why you use them in the first place though. Wink
5849  Economy / Services / Re: Apps that pay real money on: September 13, 2019, 01:51:44 PM
And there are a couple of faucet rotator apps too, but that's an even bigger waste of time. I've never used them, so I can't tell what other surprises they bring (I won't be surprised to find at least ad exploiting).
Heh, the greed for free money is pretty high in this world and this is what many scammers and hackers try to use to blunt the logic out of any person. I am sure all of you are aware of the bank frauds that promise you something big but need you to pay some tiny amount to get it done. No tiny amount but scam. Its the same here, those who look for free money get scammed.

The phrase "Free money" is an oxymoron - money is never free.
5850  Economy / Services / Re: Apps that pay real money on: September 13, 2019, 09:09:45 AM
Does anyone use or know any app on Google play store that pays real money or something like that. Thank you very much for answer!
There are many apps that allow you to do surveys and install other apps which are basically bloatware and at times hidden malware and thus you get paid some type of currency to your account.

Two things:
1. These are basically a waste of time. If you have time to do something fruitful, get a job and work hard to earn money.
2. These app install are often malware so you could try doing them on a VM like Andy or Bluestacks, but still not worth it.
5851  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Apps for exchanging on: September 13, 2019, 09:05:56 AM
Can anyone recommend good apps on android for exchanging? What do you usually use? Was there anything new released recently? I'm new at this and interested in some non-custodial exchangers.
Definitely dont use Changelly or Shapeshift. They were probably the best to get instant conversions between bitcoin and altcoins but with their recent KYC/AML guidelines I dont trust them with my personal information and neither am I comfortable with it.

Your best bet would be to sign up on an exchange that accepts your local currency and where you are comfortable with giving your KYC. Believe it or not, at this current state one day each and every one of us using exchanges would have to undergo verification to be able to trade. Make sure that exchange is trusted enough from you local users and then use it.
5852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrency soon be an alternate payment option? on: September 13, 2019, 09:00:03 AM
In my opinion, Maybe that cryptocurrency will be an alternate payment soon because some people used their Bitcoin for payment used on their daily basis in life that is much like to do. As much as I know, some country already accept crypto as a payment method.
You need to around a bit more. Governments are attempt to censor crypto in many countries declaring them as illegal commodities and users are getting afraid to use them, gradually culling the good folk here. Merchants who accept crypto are just a handful and would never increase in number unless their governments would allow easy trading of crypto and not poke their noses in crypto transactions.

I don't think because everyone doesn't know about bitcoin and they don't know how to use bitcoin. so I don't think that will happen ... maybe it will happen if the government requires its citizens to use bitcoin as any payment method.
It would never become a first choice but they can and should become lenient about crypto. People dont use fiat because its bad, but its simple to use and they are accustomed to it. Pro-bitcoin stance would be pretty bullish on the market too.
5853  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Sold too damn early!! Kicking myself... on: September 13, 2019, 08:56:02 AM
Well, it's here again. See how even this week the bulls are running out of steam.
I feel a bearish move is coming in soon before you know it. Better keep a hold on buying or selling at this point and see how the market moves this weekend. If the bears are getting more power then there may be a temporary crash opening up a good buying price for any trader wishing to jump in the market. This would be a good point of entry and this is what people miss out on.

But dont end up buying a huge amount because we cannot predict how low it might fall. Even today morning bitcoin is green. This is just my prediction.
5854  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Keep proper distance but not losing passion on: September 13, 2019, 08:51:49 AM
Losing is inevitable but giving up easily wont really be ideal since these are stepping stones for you to succeed and learn up to sustain yourself for longer runs.Determination does depend on a certain individual because others don't easily give up while others cant.
Probably you can tell us more about how forex actually works so as to educate some of the folks here who think that any type of speculative trading is essentially going to a loss if you are not determined and have done some basic analysis of price charts.

Sometimes I see people talk about how bad trading bitcoin has been for them and declare that they are moving on to forex. They are just angry and this is the anger outburst. You cant help them because they are faulty at their preparation phase.

They think if they put their money in any market they will make big profits, but they forget that if it was so easy then nobody would be poor today. Grin
5855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Things That Comes Into Your Mind When Winning... on: September 13, 2019, 08:48:09 AM
Knowing fully well that jump and shout with joy means merriment. What you think not special will be more special to me if I worn such amount like $300 on a single bet. But unfortunately, I haven't made such amount before and when it happens, I will announce it to the neighborhood for celebration of achievement.
Would not suggest you to do that. Remember that if you win you did so because you were lucky and others were unlucky. This is the source of hatred and jealously among people. So declaring yourself as a big winner you will only get attacked in public by robbers and scammers attempting to steal from you. You can be sure that they are fueled by those who hate you for your win.

I have been a winner of the 200$ faucet roll on freebitco.in and when I posted it here, I got at least 5 people attempting to scam me, which I ignored. One of them is was later on negged for other wrongdoings. Tongue

But nonetheless, being silent about your win is the better choice. Tell your close friends and whom you trust, not your locality people.
5856  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Crypto Exchange with lowest fee on: September 12, 2019, 08:57:18 AM
I am finding crypto exchange with lowest fee, before that I use bitfinex which look a little bit high fee! Thanks!
Fees are anyway high with any crypto exchange out there. You can try out other exchanges like bitthumb, kraken, localbitcoins, bittrex, Binance but I doubt you will ever be satisfied because they all have fees and what is high or low is relative to the person who is using it. What is important is that no exchange is going to be absolute for you. You might have to change your go-to exchange because of several reasons like KYC, withdrawal delay, bad customer PR and so on.

Try out a couple of the exchanges I posted and see what is good for you. Would like to listen to what you have to say in reply. Wink
5857  Economy / Lending / Re: Crypto Loan. on: September 11, 2019, 05:27:14 PM
I need a Cryptoloan of a minimum of 0.1 BTC (Max 0.4),
This line made me laugh out load. First time I am seeing a borrower here bargaining about the maximum amount of loan. As if the lender is doing them a favor by giving out their money. Tongue

Quote
I need it for a max 2 months, and I pay it back
with a interest of 6%, if you need to have a skype-video converstation first or a telegram conversation thats of course possible.
Drop that video call bullshit. Question is do you have valid collateral?

You are asking for 1000$ (max 4000$ Grin) loan but dont offer anything as collateral. That video call can be a bluff made by fake names and your friends who can never be found after(make that "when") you run away with the money. Roll Eyes
5858  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are Merits to you? on: September 11, 2019, 12:01:04 PM
I really dont give a thing about merits. If someone is getting merited heavily, it can be because they are popularizing popular opinions while a person of the opposite opinion gets lost in the crowd. This may not be the problem faced by this forum but other places too. Even then merit became a source of physically showing that one opinion is over another one. I tend to not like this, though I guess we all are biased because we are all humans.

Unequal distribution of merit is different sections of the forum make people forcibly post in less spammed section - it does ruin the quality of posts, even though it is supposed to improve it.

The main importance of merits went to stopping the account farming and ranking up spammer accounts which got controlled properly.
5859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Marketing And Religion on: September 11, 2019, 08:54:27 AM
So people doing all the good things said in QUARAN? not right then why they take gambling related things to this much.Even harming someone with harsh words is sin in Quaran I guess!
People should stop putting religion in front of everything. If you think it is not something that the holy books say then dont gamble. Simple and no complication thing. If you are addicted you have work it out or seek professional help. Someone who believes in the holy books - written by nothing else than other humans and considers those as words of Almighty, can decide how to redeem themselves.

The fact is that some religious extremists become stubborn and think too much. Its all a personal choice about what people should do and what they can do. Religions try to put our goals in front and makes our lives better in a way. But it is totally your choice whether to follow it gamble your money or not. Those who want to promote let them promote. If something bad will happen to them - who are you to judge that? Causation is not proven by making connections like this without scientific proof.
5860  Economy / Lending / Re: Question about getting a Loan on: September 10, 2019, 06:56:45 AM
-snip-
But honestly speaking in this forum trust is gained only to be broken. Embarrassed

I have so many usernames take loans and then never come back. These people follow the same process as you have described, take non-collateral loans again and again return them on time and one fine day they are nowhere to be seen. Actually they are still here but having a new bitcoin address and a new username to scam someone else. In reality nobody can be trusted on the internet, those who give out non collateral loans are being generous so to speak.
