I'd say you're going to get it soon.  Wink

I've seen mine get to 99.8% but I haven't watched it enough to see it pass that.

Ok it's enough. I give up. After 99.9% the Prob section disappeared and it's 12 more hours since then without results Sad

Can we ask what prefix you were looking for?

1Sapiens

Interesting, have you confirmed it can find an easy address like "1Sap"?

If you ran up to 99.9% and didn't find it, technically you should find it within 50% of the next try.  It's additive over time and doesn't restart searching through the same addresses it did last time.

Yep I did that check before and It has been successful in 10 seconds.

How can I be sure it will continue the work on restart? Does it save some hash/stuff somewhere? I will try another 50%. I'll let you know

EDIT: Ok i'm a naaab. I did the check with CPU and it was ok. Then with OCL I have a lot of CPU/GPU hash mismatch and I didn't know it's an issue. with -S option it seems running well but with half of Mkey/s.

Ok. I will dig deeper over amd driver problems after my vacation. I've found some threads from 2013, is there some solution for current AMD drivers (Windows 10)?

Past a few lines of output so we can see if there is a problem.
Code:
c:\oclvanitygen>oclvanitygen -d 0:0 -k 1Sapiens
Difficulty: 51529903411245
[25.70 Mkey/s][total 629145600][Prob 0.0%][50% in 16.1d]
The difficulty of 1Sapiens is very high for an 8 letter prefix because the capital S after the 1 has a lower probability of a match than other possibilities.  Based on one of my machines running @ 25Mkeys/s the difficulty for 1Sapiens (case sensitive) is 51529903411245 and I'm looking at ~16 days for 50% probability.  For an 8 letter prefix, you've picked a doozey.

I was using -i, It's not a must the S capital letter.

Code:
$ ./oclvanitygen -d 0:0 -i 1Sapiens
Difficulty: 805154740800
[26.12 Mkey/s][total 184549376][Prob 0.0%][50% in 5.9h]

The solution with AWS instances with NVIDIA GRID GPUs is still a valid solution? For a couple of bucks I could save myself burning alive in my bedroom Tongue

Yeah you could use AWS but use split-key generation to make sure that your key isn't compromised.
If you're going to do that, there are members on here who will generate keys for fees. It might be a little cheaper than AWS costs.
I think Shorena does it but I'm not certain.

I'm not saying he has an excuse for stealing but come on!  A computer systems manager making ~$19USD per hour in New York City ...and he's the thief?!
He shouldn't be pulling in less than $40/hr.  They might have done him a favour and fired him so he'd have to find a better paying computer systems manager job.

edit:  Just looked up NYC school secretary salary and they make 60k per year after 10 years of service.  Something fishy about the story (at least the value of the fine)
It's four day's vacation, so I don't think that it is that insane to see a fine in the realm of $611. If he failed to mine something of value greater than that, which is entirely possible considering the hashing power he may have available to him. It was 2014, so he wasn't getting whole Bitcoins and was more on the tip of a bunch of new miners getting involved. $611 is likely more than what he earned between 15 days worth of mining on whatever computer systems he had available to him. Even then, $611 isn't that much, especially since it was in the form of vacation days.

You've failed to understand my post.  I fine you the equivalent of 4 vacation days in Bitcoin!

If I hit on females 20 years younger than me I'd be arrested

You'll get less time for just hitting them.

Well, that'll depend on what you hit 'em with.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we had another ATH and then a correction/profit-taking this morning back down under $4k but edging back up... currently $4035USD/$5152CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

It's nice to see this strong rally not running away with itself. Meanwhile Altcash is hanging in at $311USD/$395CAD (Coinmarketcap).

Combined value is down a little from last night but still pretty impressive.

Bass.

Back in the 1970s-1980s I earned my living playing 6 nights a week (plus a matinee) for real money. Those days are gone now. May as well be talking about vaudeville.

Now I do it as a hobby and a way to meet younger women, playing single nights a few times a month for barely enough money to cover beer and expenses. A guaranteed $100 per player is considered good money these days. Some places only give you 15% of the cash register and let you collect a cover charge or put out a tip jar, which I consider begging.

Don't underestimate the value meeting chicks by playing. At my age if I hit on women 20 years my junior, I'd be a dirty old man. If they hit on me, I'm a cool old guy.

...AND you own Bitcoin.  Any cooler than that and you'd have to be David Lee Roth :O

5890  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: August 12, 2017, 06:09:46 PM
Hello. What is the maximum speed if I plug it in a normal USB port from my PC?

USB 2.0 allows for 500mA (or 2.5 Watts) max so theoretically 50 MHz max
USB 3.0 allows for 900 mA (or 4.5 Watts) max so theoretically 125 MHz max (on lowest voltage setting of Vcore 1.26)
If you aren't using a powered hub, it's probably best not to test these limits.

I'm using a powered USB 3.0 hub with three 2Pacs plugged in running at 175 MHz. Each one is drawing 1.36A giving a power draw of 7 Watts each and I haven't had an issue yet.  The brick supplying the hub is 12V 4A.  I have run them at higher speeds but the fan I'm using is a cheap USB fan and it doesn't keep the 2Pacs as cool as I would like at the higher speeds.

hey can you build me one or find me one online a faraday cage which will block out emf and radio waves iam willing to pay you if you can build it and ship it better to find someone selling it.

I answered a PM from a user I didn't know once and the message was altered to appear as though I was giving a vouch so I won't answer PMs from people with whom I am not familiar.

still need someoness help

You can easily make a faraday cage to block out EMFs but there are wearable faraday cages that will have a similar blocking effect.  Worth a try.  Good luck!

On the contrary, I think we had a good and civil discussion. It can't be bad.

Respects to you sir!

You know what would have made that discussion even more "good and civil"?  It's own thread in the proper section.

@deepcolderwallet

I have yet to see a Klingon cry, also, you are being a dick.

Star Trek TNG - Sins of the Father @ 48:55, I'm pretty sure Kurn is crying or at least fighting back tears (definitely wincing) as he is urged by his own brother (Worf) to ostracise him (Worf).  It was a very emotional episode; good camaraderie between Worf and Captain Picard.

“Great fortune has this characteristic, that it allows nothing to be concealed, nothing hidden; it opens up the homes of princes, and not only that but their bedrooms and intimate retreats, and it opens up and exposes to talk all the arcane secrets”

To Whomever It May Concern

According to Understanding reached (and signed) today, My divorce process has ended as material matters are settled.

Then I think congratulations and condolences are in order.  I haven't experienced divorce first-hand but I have helped (and hosted) a few friends who went through it.  While it's a little different for everyone, it seems to be a painfully slow, agonizing and rather expensive process coupled with a very wide range of emotions.  While it took some time, all were able to finally see light at the end of the tunnel and realize that they could enjoy their new lives (even one who tried to end his at one point) so it's important that you mark the occasion - you've been through a long difficult period.  I think the key is to acknowledge the end of that part of your life and realize that the most difficult part is over.  Take care of yourself and don't turn to drugs and alcohol as coping mechanisms for the non-material matters.

Hello,

is it normal after 2 days and 99.5% prob to do not find anything? Or Am I simply unlucky?

  Yes and presently yes.
Are you looking for only one prefix or are you using a list?  Lists make better use of your processor time.

I need only 1 specific address that starts with 1+7 chars. 99.7% now :|

29 Mkey/s is a good result for a R9 280x? (Yes it's fucking hot in my room since 2 days.)

I'd say you're going to get it soon.  Wink

If he's going to solo mine (would need a lot of miners for that to make sense), wouldn't he need to run a full node on his PC? Not that it would be of any problem - any remotely modern PC would run a full node no problem.

Yes if he was going to solo mine on his computer but that would be wasteful when he can solo mine on CK's pool for 1% of this winnings.  This is a highly speculative venture though and I would not recommend purchasing and operating an S9 as a solo miner.
