5881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the bitcoin decentralized? on: July 27, 2017, 01:45:54 PM
These days, two software while its trading Bitcoin back and forth, it's still basically decentralized. However, new technology, such as transaction accelerators, specific transaction miners, and other things like that attack that decentralisation. Take the transaction accelerator for example, there are several websites that offer this service, showtimes for free and sometimes for a price. That is where decentralization begins
5882  Economy / Speculation / Re: Worth investing as a student? on: July 27, 2017, 03:54:01 AM
Hey there. New to the BitcoinTalk forums, happy to be here Smiley

I'm a student in the UK. I get a few hundred in cash (£250ish) for christmas + birthday money every year and was thinking about investing in Bitcoin. Would you say it is worth investing as a student, especially now with the market rising around BIP91? If so, how much would you recommend? And how much profit would I be able to make within half a year or so?
First i would recommend for you to wait, wait to see what will happen with bitcoin after segwit coming on 1st of August. If everything works fine, i would suggest for you to invest that money in to bitcoin. So far bitcoin was always good investment, and people that invested in it did not regret it. Price has been rising, and i believe it will continue to do so.
The past two weeks have seen the numbers go anywhere from just above $2,000 just under 3,000. So it is highly conceivable that if you absolutely need to get your money back out you could buy in today at 2700 and when you try to buy back out 48 hours from now you might be sitting at 2500 2300 even as long as 2100.
5883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does my portfolio looks good? on: July 27, 2017, 03:35:06 AM
The market is going down. It is good to invest in. I sold all my DASH and bought Waves and Shift. No. I don't buy XRP, I don't trust them.

Updated portfolio:

25 BTC
230 ETH
500 LTC
500 XMR
1000 ETC
1000 ANS
1000 BLOCK
25000 STORJ
10000 WAVES
35000 SHIFT

The reason I brought this up was because what you were talking about looked a lot like that basically a hedge fund of sorts, and I thought you might be interested this side, I had found I lost it I'll see if I can find it for you but you buy into a single token, am I buying that single token you're actually purchasing and investing in say 10 various all coins and percentages. I'll find it and I'll be back in the morning.
5884  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: July 27, 2017, 03:15:02 AM
The dollar, the mystical cloth currency. There is no logical reason why this still exists. This has absolutely nothing to do with Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. As soon as almost every consumer in the United States had the ability to carry with them a debit card, and those debit cards have the ability to receive income based on paychecks, government payouts and even a transfer from a friend for no reason at all, then cloth or paper currency whatever you want to call it should have ceased to exist.

Until we can figure out exactly what it is that makes fiat currency in its physical form hold on so hard they were not going to be able to replace it with anything, although that's no reason at all to digital currencies like cryptocurrency and Bitcoin can exist side-by-side with it, just like debit cards, PayPal, Google pay and all the others.
5885  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: July 27, 2017, 02:52:26 AM
No Bitcoin is not dead. We used to live down the street from a gym that trained boxers. They would go through two or three weeks of training, before they would Spar against another Boxer. That meant it might be 30 days from the moment of boxer started training before they were actually hit by another person. This was a critical moment in the training and career will boxer. There was actually a term for it, it was called the first hit. You never really knew no matter how much town of person had, what they were made out of until you saw if they could take a hit. That's the spot where Bitcoin is at right now. Bitcoin up to this point has met very little adversity.

It may have not have been the most popular thing all the time but at even the worst moments all it was doing with slightly backpedaling or plateauing. This is really been the first time that the Bitcoin Community itself has actually looked at it and had a little bit of Doubt. Bitcoin, has shown a lot of talent and now it's going to show what happens when it takes its first hit. Bitcoin is not dead, it's just meeting with its first big dose of adversity and it seems to be making it through just fine.
5886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 21, 2017, 08:31:57 PM
It's been a pretty even Road for XMR. There's not much that you're going to be able to do or speculate on it this point. I looks like this coin is  old and trusted. Somebody just pumped it for some reason. They like to do that for profit they like to do that for activity on their chain and then like to do that create movement on their particular coin so let's just see what comes next.
5887  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Please help. I lost my Cryptocopia Slack email! on: July 21, 2017, 08:13:38 PM
Thanks to google chrome I have no idea what email I used. I was really enjoying the community, is there anyway I can get added back in?
A small tip on offer for anyone that can help, it was a good chat Sad
Thank-you sooo much!  Smiley

I don't know how many email addresses you use we use about 15 on a common basis you can go through those look through the trash search in spam search and trash searching the entire inbox and see if you can find some sort of email that you got from them at some point but really if it's lost its lost in there's nothing you can do except for keep searching.
5888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LakeBanker | Free Banking for the World on: July 21, 2017, 08:00:48 PM
If you could do this using simply software simply wallet software and nothing else no websites or anything like that then you might have a better shot otherwise you're just taking it easy centralized currency and turning it into something that's becoming centralized. We do not need anything that is centralized as we are already fed up with fiat centralization thing.
5889  Economy / Economics / Re: Could a country survive and maintain economic stability if it phased out cash? on: July 21, 2017, 03:41:07 PM
Economic model will be very unstable due high volatility of crypto. Current rate of crypto connected with market manipulations and country will not able to protect economic from such manipulations with price.

The Current up and down of the bitcoin / altcoins prices and that too very often  is no good for the running the government as they need a stable currency to be able to run the country. However i think we should keep both fiat and bitcoin and use the best of both for the benefit of government and the people themselves.
5890  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to make 1 bitcoin in a month or 2? on: July 21, 2017, 03:18:34 PM
Do you have any skills? You could sell your skills to be paid for certain jobs that the community places out. Also, you can do Signature campaigns, but that is not 1 bitcoin in under 2 months. But is still a solid amount.
I would say to get a proper, solid daytime job as your main source of income and do jobs on the side for bitcoins, jobs found on this forum for example.
An alternate way to make that many bitcoins in a month or 2 is to get heavily involved in trading. This however is not the best way to start if you currently do not have much money to invest in the first place, unless you get extremely lucky with another alt coin. You would need a large amount of bitcoins to make a bitcoin a month as profit.

A Single bitcoin is 2700$ and it is not easy get 2700$ in a month.  This means that bitcoin is not easy to earn in a month via jobs or Signature campaigns. The only way i can think of  getting a s bitcoin in a month is by altcoin trading. There is a lot of scope in Altcoin trading and those who are involved in it are really earning well.
5891  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin heading to $4,000 on: July 21, 2017, 02:42:17 PM
$4,000 will not be that easy. The events during the past 2-3 weeks have eroded the confidence of institutional investors in Bitcoin. It will take some time to restore their faith in crypto-currency. So I would say that let's first set a realistic target of $3,000, before aiming for $4,000.

I think opposite as i think since Softfork is going to be implemented and bitcoin price is over 2700$, we soon can see 3500$ bitcoin price. To cross the 4000$ needs some effort  but it is still possible. There are lots of sell orders near 4000$ but i am sure they all will be crossed and bitcoin will really be a  very high and expensive currency.
5892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 91 activation is scheduled to take place in: 350 Blocks on: July 21, 2017, 02:32:27 PM
The BIP91 phases :

A - 336 block Signalling phase
B - Lock-in period
C - 336 block grace period
D - Enforcement -- the rejection of non-SegWit blocks until BIP9/BIP141 locks in and activates SegWit on regular Core nodes

We just finished the Lock-in phase, so we need to wait for another few days to see if the regular nodes will follow suit. ^hmm^

Yes, these are few steps which are required to complete the BIP91 and we do not care if they takes even few days to complete. The main point is that we have BIP91 locked in and now there is zero percent chance of BIP148 or hard fork.  This is a sign of relief for many bitcoin holders as they were fearing a loss in coins and value in case a hardfork was locked in.
5893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Litecoin (LTC) dominate Bitcoin(BTC) on: July 21, 2017, 02:15:57 PM
Bitcoin will be just as good as LiteCoin when SegWit and the Lightning network is in place. Why do you want to replace Bitcoin

with anything else? Bitcoin can cannibalize any good Alt Coin code and SegWit was actually coded for Bitcoin, but LiteCoin

just incorporated it earlier, because they did not need to go through a battle with competitors like Bitcoin did with BitcoinXT

and lately, Bitcoin Unlimited. {BugCoin}  Roll Eyes

Any hopes of Litecoin to replace bitcoins are  gone and buried because there is no more hard fork and only Soft fork will be implemented and BTC transcation will be faster and cheaper just like Litecoin. But since bitcoin is vastly accepted and used, there is no chance of  litecoin to even come close to bitcoin.
5894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are holding Bitcoin? on: July 21, 2017, 02:11:12 PM

Actually,  people holding bitcoin to get better price. Because the price of bitcoin is increasing day by day. Maximum people hold bitcoin to get better price. Some people hold bitcoin for their future. In future, they get help by that holding bitcoin.

Yes, you can see how much bitcoin price increases in days and weeks. In January 2017 , Bitcoin price was near 1000$ whereas in July 2017, we are near 3000$. It means 2000$ Dollars increase in bitcoin price in a matter of 6 months. Those who are long term holders of bitcoins should realize that if they can hold for some more years,  they will be millionaire by that time.
5895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit2x support growing day by day, WHY FORK FUD and PANIC on: July 21, 2017, 01:28:12 PM
Among users of bitcoin are very few ideological people. All interested in money. And this ensures that no problems with the bitcoin after the "judgment day" will not. Nobody wants to lose their investment in bitcoin. It makes me happy.

Finally BIP 91 has been locked in with 95.1% support. It gives shutup call to all the FUDs. As i trusted, bitcoin will always be a single chain and the best crypto currency of the world. Also i feel sad for those who sold their bitcoins between 1900 to 2500$ thinking bitcoin will die or at-least loss in value, but it was just a temporary dump due to some panic which was created.
5896  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we make more money? on: July 20, 2017, 05:24:14 PM
You simply have to learn this stuff for yourself. If you're not making your own investment choices you're depending on this fourm or any other source information for your Investments then you're in big trouble. I assume, you say you want to make more money if you haven't actually made any money at all or that you've lost money coming here with an honest attitude, coming here with honest questions would get you a lot further.
5897  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's happening with crypto markets? on: July 20, 2017, 12:33:48 PM
There is nothing happening with the crypto markets it's not being created by the users themselves. There is nothing to fear about August 1st but that doesn't stop people from acting in a fearful matter. Everyone is coming to this form they're going to other sources they're getting themselves filled with fear and then they react in a way that's just completely stupid.

That stupidity is expecting the exchanges that stupidity expecting the markets and a stupidity is affecting the forms in general once we make it past August 1st and everyone sees that they were simply being stupid then things will go back to normal probably settle in and around 2600 /2800. We might as well see 3000$ and above as people will be buying quickly if they see price rising up.
5898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is instant way to get rich ? on: July 20, 2017, 12:04:55 PM
Every time I see this thread I have to laugh out loud. It is the biggest joke in the world because everybody always wants to get rich off of something guess what you've already gotten Rich you bought something in mind it 4-0 since and now it's worth $2,300 per bitcoin so yes you got rich now let it go. But people still think it will go further up and will not sell so as to earn more profit in the future.
5899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem... not real sure about the wallet on: July 20, 2017, 11:42:51 AM
I like steam and I think its going places. So I want to invest. But it seems they don't have a traditional wallet like you'd expect. Is anyone here familiar with the ins and outs of how they do things? If I buy steem on the exchange, where should I send my steem coins? (no I'm not sending them to you  Grin)

Most people would say "Don't keep your coins on the exchange" but I don't see any clear indicator as to where they should be stored. It looks like Steem wants you to create an account with them, and then put your coins sort of in their website, so you can use them when you're using your steem account. But wouldn't that be just as vulnerable as keeping them on Poloniex? Wouldn't their site be just as big of a target?

This is nothing against the coin this is against you and your level of expertise. Not to be mean that in a mean way but if you are new to Bitcoin in your new this whole system in the steam wallet is just going to confuse you it's just going to make it really complicated for you and you're going to have a lot of trouble start with something else and then move into something like sia or something like that.
5900  Economy / Services / Re: 0.04 btc per one week of daily posting in topic on: July 20, 2017, 11:29:59 AM
You actually act as though there is such a thing as reputation . And this all of the trust and reputation and all of that is based on smoking mirrors and everyone knows it here so I seriously doubt anyone's going to be doing any serious damage to their accounts because simply being on this forum is damage for some people's reputation in the real world. Try it at your own risk.
