5881  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-03-30] Chipotle plans to give away $100,000 in both Bitcoin and free food on: April 01, 2021, 07:06:13 AM
Yeah probably an April Fools joke or whatever but not really because of the prize as I'm sure 100k isn't something a big brand like that cannot afford (and the free food as we know actual cost is probably only 30% and since people will buy to get the chance, they for sure will more than make up for it).

It's the bit about teaming up with that poor guy that stinks of a joke;)
5882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: April 01, 2021, 05:30:36 AM
Well betting has always some risks Wink
For today's match, odds aren't interesting. x1.3 for France and England or less than this for other teams doesn't worth the risk.
Romania, Austria, Greece, Northern Ireland odds are quite better but you know.. not sure.

Whenever the odds aren't interesting then the only good bets are either to take it for handicaps or to bet against. I guess North Macedonia was the best bet to take last night. Greece, Romania drew or lost. Like I said, and like you said, nothing is certain as the games every night keep on proving to us;)
5883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: March 31, 2021, 02:45:45 PM
Yup, very good idea for me to stay well away from this tournament. I have only lost money and I was so tempted to pick bets last night but checking the results, all of them would have lost (Russia, Slovenia) and betting on Belgium isn't even worth anything though I guess I should have put a lot more money on them for handicaps.

Just gonna stick to value promos for this one until group is over:)
5884  Economy / Speculation / Re: Paypal allows crypto payment for all 29mil merchants on: March 31, 2021, 02:08:38 PM
Don't forget that PayPal still works with IOUs they call Bitcoin, not with actual Bitcoin: you cannot deposit nor withdraw, nothing happens on the blockchain...
And the same goes for the other coins too.

Fully agree its compete crud.  There honestly is no need for PayPal to middle man for the consumer to use bitcoin.  They can just use crypto payments directly.  PayPal is using bitcoin as a flashy way to prop themselves up.  It will work for a short time but crypto doesn't need PayPal, PayPal needs crypto.

I guess merchants don't really care in the end. As long as they get to say "Bitcoin accepted here" it ticks a box in their year's innovations requirements.

At least with Bitpay you can actually ask customers to pay to a real Bitcoin address. With Paypal, you just add paypal and hope your customers who "buy Bitcoin" at Paypal think it's a cool idea.
5885  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Everything you need to know about trading – the rest is up to you (blogpost) on: March 31, 2021, 12:45:30 PM
you dont need strategy, you just wait tweets from elon
Nice response. To be honest got a point on this, but this could be also be called a strategy aside from trading loopholes. There is actually a chance that when Elon speak and you bought the one he is talking about then you are good cause 80% chance that it will spiked during Elon gonna tweet about it.

Its not about appearance and shape anymore.

Lol yeah. It's pretty crazy that a lot of traders made money just following the WallStreetBet reddit and Elon, kinda of like how people were following McAfee 2/3 years ago. And pro traders were losing money because they were using "strategy".

Then again, even McAfee's tweets stopped being profitable so it's a matter of time before Elon starts putting out losing calls.
5886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: March 31, 2021, 12:05:52 PM
Just saw we have 3 weeks of a break already, man I already missing the past year with 2 races every 3 weeks for a month. This feels boring now.
Yeah, such long breaks looks strange after such intensive season that we had last year.

I actually thought we would all get okay with all the sports coming up bunched together but still there's this weird feeling of emptiness in between such crazy seasons that's probably affecting the sportspeople themselves even more than us. I think a few tennis people were complaining about it but maybe for F1 drivers the training doesn't end. I remember Hamilton was saying a few months ago he really felt Covid fatigue.
5887  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: price action trading on: March 31, 2021, 10:55:11 AM
That's correct, if you are copying someone else, it could work for you only if you know what you are following, if those people are actually doing something that's profitable and you learn how they are doing it, that would work for you, of course that means you have to be able to talk to them, it needs to be a group effort. I have someone like that, he shares his picks and his trades, but we asked him what he picks and how he picks them and why he picks things and how he trades etc etc so we asked him a bunch of questions.

Nowadays our whole group makes their own trades based on what we learned from him and even without him sharing we find stuff so he is no longer sharing so much, he just agrees or disagrees and shares why he disagrees but that's about it. If you can use it that way, you could actually make a profit from these things but that's about it.

Yup! But like I said, it only works until it stops working. And if you're copytrading someone or some company then there's just no way at all you can ever know if it will go belly up and when it does, it'll be too late.

For me the group effort is important to keep an eye on each other and tell each other when they're breaking the rules (no stops, being emotional, banking more than max cap etc.).
5888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Gambling company that did hit the jackpot during the pandemic. on: March 31, 2021, 10:16:09 AM
Sorry but it seems like a super shill article and 2019 earning $420 (did anyone else notice this) has nothing to do with the pandemic by the way;) Covid was first detected in late 2019 but only in 2020 did all the bookies close down because of corona.

It's not a shill article if you read the whole.

That part of the article wherein Denise Coates, who runs bet365, earned more than $420 million in 2019, is just telling us that the company is really profiting prior pandemic then boost more its revenue despite lots of people struggling financially during the pandemic.

Yeah, I know it's a New York Times article and it's just written in a style to sort of show us just how bad it is and how lavish the company was with all their money thrown around. But either it's a shill article (subtle paid sponsorship to throw spotlight on so-called private guys) or it's a non-objective article to my reading. Just the tabloidish feel of the start turns me off reading this:) No offence at all of course!

But just because you have a sponsor on a shirt of every football player doesn't make you "own" the team. Sorry.
5889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is hotbit to binance possible? on: March 31, 2021, 08:44:02 AM
Exchange to exchange is always possible. If you use the ETH deposit address as is from Binance, it will work (since it's the same anyway as any chain they choose).

But if withdrawing FROM Binance, make sure you choose the option for regular Ethereum chain. Don't be smart and using all the other networks like Binance Smart Chain (same address but you won't get your ETH in Hotbit!).
5890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The realities of modern casinos on: March 31, 2021, 08:11:19 AM
Hard to believe you've been gambling for 15 years and still asking questions like this!
1. Read about house edge. The odds are always tipped in the favor of casinos (not just modern ones as you say) so that in the long term gamblers are more likely to lose when they play at casinos.
2. Gambling is an industry and a business.
3. For you perosnally, don't treat gambling as anything other than a fun past time and entertainment. Play with money you must ASSUME you lose.
5891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymous a red flag? on: March 31, 2021, 06:58:10 AM
It shouldn't be. Bitcoin was an anon project too. On the other hand, if you have to invest money of your own, I'd never trust an anonymous team.

I support anonymous projects but these never needed my money. If you want my money, you better tell me who you are and where you come from;) Not that this stops them from scamming!

btc was the first and was the only coin during it's time, even btc face some opposition while evolving, many people tag it as a scam and warned people to stay away, btc did not develop into a world class asset without any oppositions, and that was then, this is now where scam is the order of the day, i myself will not trust a project without a team, anything can happen and your funds will go into thing air.

That's very true, and until today people still tag it as a scam but as I said the most important difference here is Bitcoin never actually asked anyone to invest anything. You could buy it or sell it or even use it without funds (like to verify hashes and make random drawings or even sign authenticated messages).

Imagine you didn't need to BUY anything to use Bitcoin in the beginning.
5892  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-26 Yahoo! - Chainalysis Raises $100M, Demand for Blockchain Surveillance on: March 31, 2021, 06:20:54 AM
I know it's a lot of money but I thought they'd be able to raise a lot more since the CIA IRS and FBI have all made use of their services at some point right? Ask for more surveillance, but meanwhile banks are still allowed to do all their dirty businesses and get away with small fines while blockchain criminals get jail time. Very fair.
5893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STORJ is up 80% in 24hrs... Anyone know why? on: March 30, 2021, 03:10:47 PM
Been such a long time since anyone talked up these kinds of projects. I think the idea of distributed storage is a great one, the only problem is buying storage is still very cheap to a lot of companies and people (I can spend $50 now and get 5TB storage for myself for example, which can last me years until I need to get a new one and by that time $50 can get me maybe 15TB).

I think a lot of online companies are doing really well in current conditions!
5896  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Mt. Gox and Bitcoin Exchanges: Did You Know? on: March 30, 2021, 12:15:49 PM
Um yeah:) We know about Mt Gox. And if you don't know about Mt Gox, then you really need to read up. They aren't the first and not the last, and for sure we will continue to read more and more about hacks and steals and scams.

But careful. Even in defi, keys are yours but code is not. Rug pulls also happen without your keys so I'd definitely not trust anything I don't understand or have no control over!
5897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: March 30, 2021, 10:46:18 AM
BTW, it was confirmed why Alonso had to retire. Sandwich wrapper stuck in his brake duct. Well, it's just ridiculous Cheesy.

In the old days you would not see such things my uncle who used to watch Ferrari all the time would tell me. Or you do that and you get fired and your whole family is shamed all the time. Now the guy responsible probably did not even get a word on his CV;)

But anyway, if NASA can have small issues like lizards on the pipeline then I suppose random rubbish stuck to the brake is not abnormal;)

Anyone got tips for F1 for me?Smiley
5898  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: price action trading on: March 30, 2021, 10:10:14 AM
Hard to follow traders, I've learnt my lesson following my own picks in the ICO days or copytrading tactics as most professionaly would call it. It looks nice and works very well until the guy you're copying starts to make bad calls, as they eventually will.

It's not the best way to make money and for sure not the best way to destress. You have to keep watching in this game, and it always falls apart sooner or later:)
5899  Economy / Speculation / Re: Damn, I should've bought bitcoin earlier! on: March 30, 2021, 08:40:03 AM
So, we all know that we are way too late for making profits like that, people are sad that they missed on that chance and we are never going to have that chance. It's true that if you buy bitcoin right now and wait until it is higher you could make money, but we are not going to make profits like we did back in the day, we ain't getting that 500x return type of stuff ever again.
You never know what the market will be next year, may be everyone gets a chance to invest again as majority are anticipating a major correction sometime this year and if that happens then everyone gets a chance once again to invest and then wait for the long haul till the market recovers again and since the market touched $60k we are almost certain we will touch those again Cheesy .

It's probably way too late to get x100 or whatever amount people want to get in Bitcoin. I mean, even buying now and seeing it go to 1 million dollars, if it ever does, is "only" 20x but that's really perfectly okay. It's still 20x more than what you'd get for anything else. Fiat guarantees you lose value over time, so even if Bitcoin only ever stores that value and preserves it, you still win!
5900  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-22 yahoo! - 'Bitcoin Winter' Could Last For Years After Price Hits $300k on: March 30, 2021, 08:03:45 AM
I watched a little bit of Bobby Lee before and I actually read some of his quotes from this article but sorry to say, it was a very poor piece. He was like explaining what a crypto winter was, and cycles in Bitcoin, and just looking very amateur with his predictions.

Not saying I could be better than him but you should expect more than moonboi readings from a professional timeslot like this. By the way, 90% price drop from $300,000 means we go the lowest at $30,000. How nice:)
