Looks like AW is trying to get higher on the Troll Brigade, i think he is trying to become leader of the Troll Brigade. I shall not be passed !!!
You must be so honoured to be heading that list qwizzie. Up there with such intellectual giants! well i do feel honoured because i put a lot of hard work in it achieving that top troll rank. í also want to reassure everyone that i put up a special program that will help all us trolls on how to effectively troll in a forum. Exspect results in a few months.

From my experience with seeing smooth in various threads, he strikes me as being an asset to any project. But I'll defer to the views of those here who have seen most of his posts.
The majority of the others just look like run of the mill trolls trying desperately make a buck before they dump Monero edit taking a look back at smooth's posts, and will update eh, any particular reason i'm on the Troll Brigade ? leading it no less ? edit : actually thats a question for Sapereaude

see page 4785 for some tutorials on how to update
Thanks, I'm looking for an easy tutorial. Why not add a short howto on the official dash website? @qwizzie: replace dash-qt.exe with updated dash-qt.exe >>> so in my case replacye darkcoin-qt with dash-qt I guess? and update without protocol change? If you still have darkcoind running on server then stop it with darkcoind stop command (./darkcoind stop) and then follow the rest of the tutorial. Its considered a protocol change if yr upgrading from darkcoind to dashd This means starting from local wallet as well so make sure that both local and remote wallets are up to date. edit : almost forgot .. also you need to make changes to foldername and the .conf file : https://dashtalk.org/threads/11-2-dash-release.4515/Configurations Have Been Moved!
Configurations have been moved from .darkcoin to .dash! You’ll need to do the following when updating your client. First close Darkcoin and backup your data directory.
Windows: %APPDATA%\Darkcoin\ Mac OS: ~/Library/Application Support/Darkcoin/ Unix/Linux: ~/.darkcoin/
After that rename it to Dash for Windows/Mac, or .dash for linux. Next go open the directory and locate the darkcoin.conf file, rename this to dash.conf.

Ok silly me. That whole masternode voting stuff ( Yey and Nej ), what on earth does it do? Cant find anything to read about it I just updated my node to 0.11.2.17. Does it require some voting command to get paid or something? Bit confused here thats for future use .. right now you can vote for the color of a dress https://dashtalk.org/threads/11-2-dash-release.4515/•New masternode voting system for new Dash initiates, each masternode gets one vote. See the new commands “masternode list votes” and “masternode vote yea|nay”. First vote, what color is this dress : http://imgur.com/QjqfntR ? Blue and Black (yea) or White and Gold (nay) Thx! So no real use just yet..... well, the correct color of that dress could be important .. to someone ... somewhere .. in a galaxy far far away

This could be a crypto anthem. 2nd verse: Well I woke up to see them, these two mighty steeds With their mouths grinning wildly expressing my needs As they stood there above me, being flanked on each side I felt no need to fear them, no reason to hide So I reached up to touch but they faded too soon Yet their mouths still remained and stacked up towards the moon How that ladder of mouth waved so soft in the night And I looked up in awe at that beautiful sight And I dreamt about climbing into the night sky But I knew had I touched them they'd mouth back 'bye bye' So I got up and walked down the path in the dark And there deep in the distance my eye caught a spark Of a crab twice my size with incredible strength Oh it greeted me kindly and then we all drank And we drooled out together right onto the ground And the ocean grew up quickly right up all around And the earth looked at me and said "wasn't that fun?" And I replied "I'm sorry if I hurt anyone" And without even thinking cast me into space But before she did that she wiped off my own face She said better luck next time don't worry so much Without ears I couldn't hear I could just feel the touch As I feel asleep softly at the edge of a cave But I should have gone deeper but I'm not so brave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo5NXGOj3CkLyrics http://lyrics.wikia.com/Dan_Deacon:When_I_Was_Done_DyingCrypto, Better than a bank nice post .. found this videoclip in the comments : https://vimeo.com/123219861

As it so happens we just hit the MN payouts 42.5% per block a few days ago. The masternode network is in the middle of upgrading to the most recent version so MN payments vary a bit right now between 1.97 DRK and 2.3 DRK per block and are paid out every 4 days i think to each masternode. Once everyone updated their masternodes you should see something like 2400 or 2500 masternodes operational. https://dashninja.pl/blocks.html https://dashninja.pl/masternodes.html (it loads slowly as it needs to gather some info so give it some time) https://dashtalk.org/forums/masternode-guides.66/Below you will find a more up to date increase payment schedule (one of the dev team developers updated the dates and added the blocks at which the % increase will happen) Masternodes increase payments if(nHeight > 158000) ret += blockValue / 20; // 158000 - 25.0% - 2014-10-24 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)* 1)) ret += blockValue / 20; // 175280 - 30.0% - 2014-11-25 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)* 2)) ret += blockValue / 20; // 192560 - 35.0% - 2014-12-26 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)* 3)) ret += blockValue / 40; // 209840 - 37.5% - 2015-01-26 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)* 4)) ret += blockValue / 40; // 227120 - 40.0% - 2015-02-27 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)* 5)) ret += blockValue / 40; // 244400 - 42.5% - 2015-03-30 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)* 6)) ret += blockValue / 40; // 261680 - 45.0% - 2015-05-01 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)* 7)) ret += blockValue / 40; // 278960 - 47.5% - 2015-06-01 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)* 9)) ret += blockValue / 40; // 313520 - 50.0% - 2015-08-03 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)*11)) ret += blockValue / 40; // 348080 - 52.5% - 2015-10-05 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)*13)) ret += blockValue / 40; // 382640 - 55.0% - 2015-12-07 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)*15)) ret += blockValue / 40; // 417200 - 57.5% - 2016-02-08 if(nHeight > 158000+((576*30)*17)) ret += blockValue / 40; // 451760 - 60.0% - 2016-04-11

no problem, i edited my previous post a bit but i guess i did it too late. I updated yr quotation to reflect the change I always extract the Linux file through Winrar and use WINSCP to transfer it to the server.
Although it is really comfortable to just set up an update script which wgets the archive and extracts it for you, I would rather just download it by myself and check the if both the hash and the pgp keys match. to be honest for me its more an old windows habit, i'm rather used to winrar and the uploading goes fast in my case.

So just to clarify for my own peace of mind, I'm going to update my local wallet from 0.11.2.16 to 0.11.2.17.
I've downloaded the new wallet.
What are the best steps to take to bring both my local wallet and my masternode up to current (.17). Just a quick numbered list of those steps. I don't need detailed tutorial.
Thanks in advance.
looks like this is just a version change, no protocol change : Steps for local wallet on windows :delete peers.dat replace dash-qt.exe with updated dash-qt.exe download and extract Linux 64bit dashd file to desktop or specific folder for use with WINSCP Steps for masternode in Linux with help of WINSCP :Update without protocol change
./dashd stop rm ./dashd and just dump new extracted dashd in there with help of WINSCP chmod +x ./dashd rm ~/.dash/peers.dat ./dashd ./dashd getinfo ./dashd masternode list | grep $IP Update with protocol change./dashd stop rm ./dashd and just dump new extracted dashd in there with help of WINSCP chmod +x ./dashd rm ~/.dash/peers.dat ./dashd start MN from cold wallet ./dashd getinfo ./dashd masternode list | grep $IP Update with protocol change & command-option reindex
./dashd stop rm ./dashd and just dump new extracted dashd in there with help of WINSCP chmod +x ./dashd rm ~/.dash/peers.dat ./dashd --reindex start MN from cold wallet ./dashd getinfo ./dashd masternode list | grep $IP YES!!! Exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you very much qwizzie. \o/ no problem, i edited my previous post a bit but i guess i did it too late. I updated yr quotation to reflect the change. http://www.coindesk.com/coindesk-launches-moon-bureau/ Competition in the bitcoin media space has rocketed in recent months, with many mainstream media outlets now devoting resources to digital currency coverage.
To combat this, CoinDesk is diversifying its offering with the launch of FiatDesk – a microsite devoted exclusively to the coverage of fiat currencies like the US dollar.
CoinDesk CEO Jeremy Bonney said:
"Bitcoin is over. Government-issued currencies (which feature private blockchains and full mining centralisation) are clearly the future of money. The technology behind fiat money hasn't changed for decades, it's that good."
i agree with Jeremy on this..
