5941  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How to Protect Your Crypto Wallet if Someone Searches Your Phone? on: February 08, 2020, 10:31:02 AM
I think such scenario is rampart with countries in Africa or such that are governed by tyrants and dictators. In a sane society, such arbitrariness isn't tolerated except where national security is threatened. However, the OP can find a way of putting pin lock or password to apps he has on phone. For instance, the Bitcoin blockchain  for BTC has a provision for pin code. Blockfolio has too. Imtoken has also, and so many other apps do have them.

I have experience several harassment on numerous occasions concerning searching of my mobile by the so called law enforcement agencies and in cases when I refuse them access I get force to or my device get seized. The pin/password isn't that perfect since you can still be force to unlock the apps by imputing your password or finger print.

With the recent brands of Android phones, you can easier hide very sensitive apps without anyone having an idea you have such apps on your device. That's the trick I used, and I found it to be very effective. Before now, I downloaded apps that I could hide my apps in but discovered the disadvantage of those app. The moment you mistakenly delete them, the rest of the information stored in the app gets deleted with it.
5942  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Cooldown for the second locking thread on: February 08, 2020, 10:13:03 AM
This would totally negate the point of locked threads. Taking features from legitimate users to maybe possibly prevent some small amount of abuse is only going to result in less features on the forum. If people are abusing locked threads make your own post or leave a trust rating.

My thoughts exactly when I saw the title of the thread, the feedback aspect should be a neutral based feedback that's if you feel such offense is worth a feedback for regular offenders to serve as a warning and not a negative feedback since the action isn't worth it unless the thread been bumped and locked contains harmful contents like malwares.

To the OP, don't think there's any rules against bumping and locking your thread, very high profile users of the community can be observed doing this too (although for the right purpose). The abusers make the feature annoying but that's the price we have to pay.
5943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 08, 2020, 06:36:00 AM
Don't forget there's games on tomorrow. Only four games in total on the weekend. Two games on Saturday and two on Sunday until next Friday:

Everton v Crystal Palace
Brighton v Watford
Sheffield United v Bournemouth
Manchester City v West Ham United

Can't say I'm interested or excited in any of those. Really tough calls in them all except the City game.

Having the same feeling too, as among the games only Manchester city I can easier bet on to win while Eve vs Cry looks like a draw to me, same with SHE vs BOU. While watford looks favorite to win against Brighton and that's how I'll be placing my bets anything soon.  For the rest games, I might take sometime to think about them. I never knew we had match this week until few minutes ago, I thought the premier league will resume next week.

Been routing for Watford for quite some time now and they have not disappointed, at the beginning of the season they were the worst team but the new manager is doing an awesome job in reviving the club. The goals and understanding between the players can be observed from their current style of play.
5944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 08, 2020, 05:42:08 AM
My picks for this round's Majestic 7 at FJ (I don't think anybody's winning the 1 BTC tbh.  It's haaard.  But fun.  Lol):
Abraham

Post your picks.  Smiley

I just finished placing my pick, you took some bold steps there by picking Abraham especially as the goals hasn't been coming as usual, also he'll be playing at home which doesn't favor him and lastly he's playing against a big club that normally gives him hard time scoring. This are just the factors I consider before deciding to go for Williams. It'll still be an awesome experience seeing him (Abraham) score. As goals in marches like this can boost a players confidence.

Initially wanted to pick jorginho due to the fact he'll most likely score if Chelsea are given a penalty but that's be a pick relying on the hopes of been given a penalty. The game is going to be a though one and most likely end in a draw although I'm hoping for a dominating performance from the boys (Chelsea), not just in ball possession but end result too.
5945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: February 07, 2020, 05:51:48 AM
I still can't believe it, both Real Madrid and Barcelona are defeated by small clubs tonight. What's wrong with them? Do they think Copa Del Rey trophy not necessary to be achieved?

I didn't watch the Real Madrid match so can't comment much but just to join others to show my disappointed in  Zinedine Zidane but for the Barcelona match, I think they were just unlucky, Barca dominated the match both in possession and shots at goal. The Bilbao goal was even an own goal and it isn't that they played that good to deserve the win but simply were just lucky.

Barcelona would had easily won that match, both messi and griezmann missed an opportunity to put Barcelona ahead. Simon (Bilbao keeper) was brilliant as his leg was the reason both attempts from griezmann and Messi respectively were denied.
5946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Site's Investing (Is it worth it?) on: February 07, 2020, 05:32:02 AM
I haven't invested although I'm interested in making such investment and when I do it won't be a short term investment instead for the long-term. The benefits as you have stated is very tempting since you don't bother amount winning or not losing a bet to profit so I can't ask for a better earning opportunity.

I was once advice by one of the individual (Investor) I adore, he said that when two teams plays a game (he was referring to football) that there's someone that always win irrespectively of the outcome of that game which obviously isn't the players or club playing but the tickets seller. The same advice can be applied here since the chances of the house to win is more than that of the hundreds of players constantly playing. Thanks for the link shared, I'll check it out.
5947  Economy / Reputation / Re: Talking about what is bad and what is good on: February 06, 2020, 11:17:02 PM
The forum offers the opportunity for everything one to advertise their business then it's left for the community to differentiate between the good and the bad. Do understand that the forum doesn't moderate signature campaign so technically it means it's operating a free market. The only time a campaign ad was banned for weeks (to my knowledge) was due to the level of spam it was generating as the campaign was unmoderated (not properly managed) by a campaign manager and not because it was tagged unsafe due to their shady practices.

The mixer been promoted, haven't scammed anyone for you to tagged them unsafe and the service they offer is beneficial since they offer the possibility of staying anonymous when you feel the need to, irrespective of your personal agenda. That more of their patronizers is coming from illegally activities doesn't mean their service been offered is unsafe for use. Like other users have highlighted, man can't stop flying because people die of plane crash.

If you feel you're not comfortable with the ads been displayed them make use of the disable button available in your profile settings. As for the selling of account issue, it isn't against the forum rules although it's highly frownd at and discourage since it has more negative effect to the forum than positive.
5948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you gamble? on: February 06, 2020, 01:11:30 PM
and losers will always loser so better give it a shot at least every other day or little time daily.

If you believe in your statement then why don't you just advice the losers to quit totally, like they said "practice make perfect" although for you to attain the perfection, you have to be practicing rightly and that's where gambling right comes into play. A gambler that doesn't have a strategy or fund management plan is likely going to end up lossing more fund each and every day. If you observe you're losing and have surpassed your daily capital limit then it's idea to quit for the day.

If such scenario keep on repeating itself then take some time off to rethink your strategy, try again after you must have perfected that new strategy and not acting foolishly by keep on playing even when you're not profiting from the bets.
5949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 06, 2020, 12:56:01 PM
And the next target of overtaking Chelsea from position 4 to advance to the UCL cup next season, there, Mourinho will give his best strategy, maybe what he wants in the player will be granted soon. believe that Mourinho at Spurs because he has found his comfortable place.

As a Chelsea fan I will hate this statement to come into reality although I'm not doubting Mourinho's ability to deliver such performance. Chelsea aren't playing convincingly and aren't winning winnable games as they previously did. We'll be playing Manchester United next and it'll be a very difficult game considering we're playing at home which hasn't been in our favour compared to playing away.

We hardly wins games in front of our home fans and when we do, it isn't a dominating win. Also Manchester united aren't that easy to beat against top clubs since they come with a very attacking mindset. They already beat us 4-0 and also won us again this season although I can't remember the tournament but still hope Lampard can revenge those defeat when we host them at Stanford bridge. Fingers cross.
5950  Other / Off-topic / Re: When do you enjoy making posts? on: February 06, 2020, 12:36:16 PM
When even I login and come across a thread that looks interesting to contribute to, I go ahead and make my contributions. I don't have a specific time I login to make comments as doing so "to me" will make contributing on the forum look like a job since I have set aside some specific time to engage in conversation to meet my post requirements. When ever I feel bored at my place of work irrespective of the time, I just login, read through some section, engage in conversation to pass time.

Before I rest for the day, I also scroll through the forum to see if I have received responses from my previous posts and in scenario where such is the case, I respond to those I feel are worthy of my respond. In the morning hours I also repeat similar routine, that's just to say, I don't have any specific set aside time to contribute to the forum.
5951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why are exchanges still listing shitcoins? on: February 06, 2020, 12:24:04 PM
obviously it is all for money and not for the safeties of their subscriber, and this is a BS on exchanges users like  us in which we are entrusting our money in their platform without them caring for us ,this is unfair for a cryptonians.

Although I'm not in supposedly of the practices of the exchange but still it's our personal duty to care for our investment. Don't use an exchange as a wallet neither should you depend on them for investment guidelines that's, don't go trading a coin or investing in a project, just because it's listed on an exchange you love. Many noobs engage in this practice, you see people buying or trading a coin just because it's listed on Binance not understanding that a project been listed on Binance doesn't guarantee it's a safe investment.

If I'm not mistaking a coin has been dislisted from Binance due to some controversy of the CEO and the law enforcement agencies, users that bought such project without carrying our personal research and relied on Binance for investment advice lost all or most of their funds since the project dump massively.
5952  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When bitcoin price is low, any slight movement is more profitable. Here is why. on: February 05, 2020, 11:58:31 PM
Although your hypothesis isn't wrong, you're forgetting to highlight that, it's far difficult for the price of bitcoin to increase by such percentage on a regular base when the price is low. The $200 gain in the initial $10,000 price of bitcoin is quite achievable since it's just a 2% increase that can be reached repeatedly in a day due to price movement of the market but for such increase to occur with a $4000 It won't be that easy unless some major news trigger a reaction from the market.

Using your example, calculate 2% profit on both price tag that's ($4000 & 10,000) and calculate the profit. While that of $10,000, gives you $200 profit, $4000 will gives you only $80 therefore technically it doesn't matter what the price of bitcoin is but the percentage profit gain plus capital used in trading matters more for you to be more profitable.
5953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 05, 2020, 11:44:49 PM
Mourinho should endeavor to win a trophy. The premier league is clearly out of their reach. Maybe FA Cup?

The possibility are very high since Mourinho himself is a specialist at winning silverware which was the main reason behind his new job. The club president even made it clear that Mourinho was brought in specifically to win them trophies, something the previous manager couldn't achieve irrespective of keeping Tottenham in the top 4 position for four years. Last season was probably their closest after losing to the champions Liverpool in the champions league final.

But to be more realistic, I think he needs time. He has to be given the freedom to buy the type of players he needs to deliver as usual before his 3rd season syndrome kicks in. Winning the FA cup this season will be a very big statement since that'll be tottenham's first major silverware in many years.

Don't forget to add Arsenal in your comparison, this four clubs are something else this season, their defence are competing on who can deliver the worst performances in most games. The rest could be excuse but United and Chelsea don't have any excuse. Manchester United spend big in acquiring Harry Maguire and have one of the best keepers in the world yet they're underperforming. Kepa (world costliest keeper can't save a ball)

About the spurs game, truely they where lucky to have won as without the Stephen's own goal and son's penalty the game would had probably ended in favour of Southampton as they played brilliantly in controlling the game in both ball possession and attempts at goal.

5959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here dream of achieving their financial goal in life through gambling? on: February 04, 2020, 01:15:17 PM
In my mind gambling has bigger risk than forex or crypto trading,

Your statement is incomplete and might be misleading since a noob reading this might think just investing in forex or cryptocurrency is better than gambling without any prior knowledge of the industry. A gambler might have luck on his side and can be profitable from a bet but a forex trader has to dedicate his/her time in understanding the market to be able to predict accurately on the price movement of the market.

Without any knowledge of cryptocurrency or forex, in my opinion it's more risky to engage in them than typical gambling since what you're technically doing is still gambling to so extent but with a more higher risk since luck can't be relied on in this aspect.
5960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quick Survey: why do you specifically use crypto to gambooool ? on: February 04, 2020, 07:20:53 AM
Hello Degens
I am doing a little research on WHY people are betting /gambling online with btc/crypto from various countries/states worldwide, and was hoping bitcointalk members  can be of some assistance.
I would specifically like to know (if you happen use crypto to gamble online) why you do so.

Specifically I gamble online because it's more convenient, and can be engaged using just my mobile phone. Using cryptocurrency makes it more satisfying since I'm been given the opportunity to use/spend my coins instead of just using it as an investment vehicle for future profit. The anonymity associated with playing with cryptocurrency, less time consumption and borderless transaction also contribute to me favouring cryptocurrency over fiat.

Although KYC is becoming an issue since it takes away the anonymity of cryptocurrency gambling, I haven't experience it myself most especially as my gambling capital doesn't exceed the maximum amount a patronizers can gamble with without processing KYC verification.
