5962  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: October 15, 2013, 07:06:21 PM

5963  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might rise over 200 unexpectedly soon on: October 15, 2013, 03:47:36 PM
It has become kind of likely that the bubble can be re-inflated over a short period of time. 200 is laughable, if it does we will get new a new ATH pretty soon. (Before end of the year)

There you go I've said it, go nuts.  Roll Eyes

 Shocked

(i guess i panic sell now)

Grin
5967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you get your first bitcoin? on: October 15, 2013, 10:34:18 AM
mtgox got hacked i couldn´t access my account […] mtgox customer service sorted it within 20 min.

Did you get your bitcoins back from Gox?

I'd like to know that too. Back in 2011 after the hack, the mtgox account recovery process asked for some detailed information like IP addresses and exact balances, not something that could be sorted out in 20 minutes.

i did send an email to customer service. they answered within 5 min, told me i just needed username, account number and password to access my coins. i had no clue, thrown it all into the garbage bin 2 years before. no chance.
i decided it was worth to write them a lenghty email with all the information i recalled (like bank account, bank adress, month of purchase, name, adress, email, - i had to guess all of this, since i had moved, held accounts with sevral banks and didn´t really know which i was using. on the other hand, it was just one transaction and i knew it was 100 btc.) must have guessed correctly since gox customer service supplied me with my account details and let me reset password - maybe it took an hour and not just 20 min. - the 100 btc were still sitting there untouched.
i was impressed with gox.
5968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you get your first bitcoin? on: October 15, 2013, 09:23:30 AM
read about it in an online magazine 2011 about mtgox. i took some cash and sent it to tokyo. had no clue, had no one to talk about it, didn´t know this forum. got 100 btc just before bubble. after 2011 bubble and mtgox got hacked i couldn´t access my account anymore and thought this was a scam and i was stupid enough to throw money in. i erased everything, forgot all about it.
turned into a believer when in march this year someone told me he quit his job and makes a living through mining bitcoin. bitcoin ?? that japanese scam ? he showed me the price. my 100 btc had almost 10 folded. dammned, i had erased everything. mtgox customer service sorted it within 20 min.

5972  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the sudden price rise? on: October 15, 2013, 08:23:16 AM
Will this be a sustained price rise?

No, it will either be a bubble, a bull trap, a head-and-shoulders, a triangle, a reverse head-and-shoulders, or a reverse-psychology-beartrap.

where are we ?

what are we (like) ?

no matter which curve you choose, there is plenty of room. get your coins when they are cheap. everything below 1000 $ is cheap  Wink

No NAV calculation today? What gives?

Edit: Also the Investor Presentation is now marked private? This does not give me a good feeling at all... Government finally having an issue?

you don´t find something (happens, n.p.) and then you conclude out of this single (non)-fact that - the government had to do with it ? makes we wonder what you conclude when you do find something.  Wink

Yeh yeh I knew somebody would say something  Tongue Lol I'm twitchy right now. So much uncertainty in the air.

couldn´t resist, since it got my attention yesterday (in a moment of doubt....)
uncertainty is an issue, but i think your post is only adding up.  Wink
the level of uncertainty has always been high i suppose. besides, 150 feels good.
5974  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: announcement: the international "when-bitcoin-reaches 1000,- $ party" on: October 14, 2013, 10:36:36 PM
Aren't we putting the cart before the horse a little here? It's nowhere near $1000.

c´mon, that´s not even 10-fold...   Grin

for something that has risen from a few cents to half a dollar and then over one dollar, to several dollars and finally over ten dollars... no ...currently around 150...  10-fold is an easy dance.

2 XBT for a flight to Frankfort and a raging party with expensive cognac good beer, and extra ordinary company, who could say no. that's 57.38% less than I paid for a 1XBT brass coin in 2011.

5980  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the sudden price rise? on: October 14, 2013, 08:48:49 PM
14 big reasons:

  • China
  • Second Market Bitcoin Investment Trust delayed effect
  • SR had 100,000 users engaging in active commerce, proving Bitcoin is a very real medium of exchange
  • SR shutdown caused only a flash crash, proving the current price level is solid*
  • SR shutdown generated a lot of Bitcoin publicity, the trial guarantees more, plus feds have Bitcoin wallet
  • DPR's huge cold wallet is reportedly untouchable; off-shore account holders' ears are perking up
  • SR shutdown proved SR was not a critical part of the Bitcoin ecosystem, not even for price support (see above)
  • SR shutdown cleaned the image of Bitcoin up in many people's minds, even though others like it will sprout
  • Global financial market turmoil coming to a head; Jim Rogers: "this Fall is probably the beginning of the end"
  • US government shutdown silliness, people are worried and the US is showing serious signs of imminent meltdown
  • China-EU agreement to cut out USD in trade, a huge blow to USD reserve currency status - one of many
  • Ultra-loose Janet Yellen appointed as next Fed chief, QE to infinity!
  • 6 months since last bubble, dust settled, now finally clear to people that it was a legit price correction (upwards)
  • Talk of more Cyprus-style "haircuts" on depositors, taking the Keynesian "hoarding=bad!" to its logical endpoint

*Remember March 11? Slow orphan blocks, hard fork, double-spend --> FLASH CRASH --> price ultimately unaffected, proving in people's minds that the growth from January through March 11 wasn't just silly speculation and vapors but real support, so then people threw caution to the wind and piled in without reservation

+1
nice list. overall media attention has grown big time since march/april. fourth biggest economy has approved btc legal status  (germany). network strength skyrocketing.
