That's awesome now I won't have to worry so much if I want to go on a shopping spree with my Bitcoins if I make a nice sum Cheesy

Oh wait, god damnit does this mean if it's in the U.S and the dollar I can't use it? I'm going to have to check for any regional restrictions on these gift cards, damn, needs a mobile phone and stuff that I don't have Sad

Please refer to my ignore list if you want a peaceful time on these forums, you newbies are falling for the classics, that and there are clearly some trolls lurking around to piss you off on purpose Tongue

Where is your ignore list?

I forgot that you couldn't see it publicly lol Tongue I did post it somewhere though but it's all the usual culprits that nobody likes very much.
5983  Other / Off-topic / Re: Annual I hate Christmas thread on: December 24, 2013, 06:24:55 PM
Almost over, I had a pizza stashed away for the evening and now I've finished one necklace for my mum and another for my grandma now I will hide in my bedroom until tomorrow, brace myself for acting happy about getting presents forced on me without people asking what I actually wanted to avoid problems and then lock myself in my room again >_<.
5984  Other / Off-topic / Re: Annual I hate Christmas thread on: December 24, 2013, 12:18:02 PM
If everybody spread things out more it wouldn't take so much time and wouldn't be such a hassle, mathematical fact.
5985  Other / Off-topic / Re: Annual I hate Christmas thread on: December 24, 2013, 11:56:31 AM
So yesterday we had to go shopping and while we did get stuff done it took something like 2 to 2 1/2 hours just to get about and get back home, in that time I could have been halfway towards finishing some work lol and it was just to get some meat for the Christmas dinner, by the way this might seem bad too but I was quite happy with the weather because it means there will be less people hanging around causing trouble for other people Tongue.

5987  Economy / Economics / Re: Market Driven Money Supply.. on: December 24, 2013, 11:20:18 AM
I personally hate the idea and wouldn't have anything to do with it but I don't see why these people who hate Bitcoin and deflationary currencies can't organise an altcoin of their own like this that they like more rather than trying to usurp the currency and wreck everything. The code is open source and there for you to use and download, even if you don't have any programming experience you could always hire like minded people with Bitcoins to develop it for you and fix things.

I think the Freicoin altcoin is one of the only ones out there that comes close to what you're planning but that hasn't been a great success and because I follow a different economics school I'm just being smug about that and saying it's because of the kind of ideas you're talking about in the first place Tongue but again I welcome currency competition, it's just the critics of deflationary currencies that don't. Oh yes! I almost forgot infinite coin, that's an inflationary currency someone made too, it's not doing too great either, there's also stuff like Starcoin and Luckycoin which give out random rewards, so there's all kinds of experiments happening.
5988  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I dont like the newbie policy regarding waiting period on: December 24, 2013, 11:02:12 AM
To be honest I think the only thing that will get rid of any of these restrictions including captcha's is a worldwide anti-spambot crusade, campaign is going to easy on them lol.
5989  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I dont like the newbie policy regarding waiting period on: December 24, 2013, 10:49:17 AM
I don't like it either, but I think people who don't run forums or website don't understand what pests bot spammers can be, the only work around I have found for these scumbags is setting up a chat room that they aren't clever enough to sign into yet, unfortunately it's one of the only methods aside from captcha's ( which hardly ever work anyway ) to stop them. If they didn't do this, half their time would probably be spent banning over 20 spammers per day because that's the kind of stuff I had to deal with before and the worst part is on those invisionfree forums and stuff they don't even have a click all button.
5990  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So sick and tired of being afraid on: December 24, 2013, 10:46:33 AM
It is a piss take, I'm sorry but many of the exchanges you've listed are being completely incompetent with how they're run or just blatantly invasive of privacy, I promise you the day is coming when free email services and just about anything in fiat are going to force you to sign up with a government issued I.D just so you can use their services.

I've never understood the appeal of living in a multi-story death trap without any land to call your own and being far too close to your neighbours so they can hear your conversations through the wall.
5993  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013 Bitcoin: As Good as Gold? on: December 23, 2013, 09:07:18 PM
In hysterics at the end when he had shown the private key on television, at least he was big enough to learn from it rather than just blame the currency.
5994  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I can nearly pinpoint when American Capitalism started to die on: December 23, 2013, 07:17:31 PM
Nice! Cheesy going to be interesting when it all gets a lot cheaper Tongue
5995  Other / Off-topic / Re: [WTF!] Toughest encryption cracked by listening to your CPU with a phone on: December 23, 2013, 07:14:14 PM
I'm not a hardware expert but haven't we known for years about this kind of thing? Not surprised somebody has found out how to work stuff out through the computer noises because you even can diagnose technical problems from the beeps that come from your motherboard when you turn on the computer.
I hope you are joking lol. The "beeps" come from the motherboard speaker, it is there exactly to make these beeps, it is not they appear randomly lol. The speaker is there exactly to make beeps to tell you what's wrong.

How the hell did you come to the conclusion that I was saying they appeared randomly?
5996  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I can nearly pinpoint when American Capitalism started to die on: December 23, 2013, 02:24:02 PM
lol when we have 3D printing for metal then that will be the revolution, there will only be so much you can do with only plastic.
5997  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Former CIA chief: Snowden should be “hanged by the neck until dead” on: December 23, 2013, 02:22:17 PM
If you consider a man a traitor for pointing out the corruption and dishonesty of his allies so other people don't get hurt by it then that just makes you an asshole.
5998  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you believe in Aliens? on: December 23, 2013, 02:17:25 PM
Now, do I believe that such life visits Earth, flies around in UFOs, abducts cows, probes people, but refuses to reveal themselves to us? No, that's retarded.

Oh come on.  You think if we had trivial interstellar travel that some people wouldn't go do that to less-advanced aliens just for amusement?

I admit, if I had a spacecraft I'd fly it over Washington D.C just to make the politicians in particular crap themselves Tongue

Except that no other kind of money swings 50-200% a day and at this volatility why would merchants even bother with such a "currency"?

Your exactly right, no other money swings 50-200% a day, I can't possibly think of another currency currently in existence that has as much volatility as Bitcoin does.

http://www.bloomberg.com/quote/DXY:CUR

http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=GBP&to=USD

I mean, you can't just for instance check all this paper based currency and see all the volatility there on many charts can you? And there certainly couldn't be a whole market out there that is dedicated to trading on this volatility right? Cheesy
