i am new to this so please forgive if my questions are stupid or have been answered 100x before:

1) i have 6 miners (knc-hosted jupiters) running on eligius. when i check their individual speeds

2013/10/14 13:30: default: 578261.67 box21: 554642.53 box16: 578261.67 box17: 560343.7 box23: 612468.7 box22: 548941.36 675 seconds: 3.43e+6  this sums up to:

3430 Gh/s but they are running a total of less than 3200 . why is there a difference ?

2) in "shares rewarded" i get figures like 89,3 (as of last block)  and 91,5 % (estimated total)

why not 100 %  ?

thank you !

600000 BTC just went out of circualtion, this has to do something to price. thats 2.5 - 5$%, 140 there fore that should go up by  $4 - 7 just on that

i thgink this is inconsistent.
first, you assume that dpr has collected all the money he ever made with sr. highly unlikely since he had to cover costs and the price of btc was most of the times single or double digits, so lots of the 600 k gone. if you assume he all kept it, then they were "out of circulation" before now.

second, if he kept it all, how did he manage to keep them "in circulation" ?

After such a large price increase, IMO we can expect a crash within 3 - 4 days.

as long as we don´t end up in the 140ies again... Angry
5987  Economy / Speculation / poll: jump over 150 ? on: October 14, 2013, 11:15:18 AM
how many times did btc try to jump over this fence !? will it finally happen NOW ?
5988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 14, 2013, 09:46:34 AM
@600watts

Eligius looked like they were getting ddos'd or had some server issues. Went down hard and slowly recovered. Should be back to full speed now.

As for KNC portal. I think when Eligius went down, everyone immediately jumped onto the portal to switch pools. And perhaps the database exploded lol.

So portal is pretty much dead at the moment.

edit: Just checked now. The portal is back up Roll Eyes

thx for explaining. where can i see how much power on eligius is backed by knc ?
5989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 14, 2013, 09:12:27 AM
can´t log in at knc portal. looks like the hosting was completly down for almost two hours. my knc-hosted jupiters via eligius are recovering slowly.

i called knc yesterday asking why there is no payout for my knc hosted jupiters. the said they are all running very bad, none over 100 Gh/s. this morning i changed to eligius to check how the are doing:

average of 536 Gh/s . someone must have been busy there.  Smiley

eligius started paying out after 90 min. why didn´t kncpool ever ? did anyone of the knc hosted customers get regular payout, or -like in my case - compensation only ?

To answer your question, I don't really care about if there is a rally or not, I buy and sell regardless, but just when I am fairly certain I can exit at any point. I don't give a shit about buying too high or selling too low as long as there is something in for me.
Because one thing I am certain of: Bitcoin will remain ultra volitale as long it'll last. I haven't had a single bad trade since I adopted this strategy.

you hate the cow you milk ?
5997  Economy / Speculation / Re: bullish news ? on: October 11, 2013, 07:39:49 PM
Well I am right, aren't I?

You gonna correct the false claims in OP after several people pointed the error to you already?

i was referring to those fud-shmuckers that kept saying that there will be vat on btc equivalent to vat on silver. (no vat on gold). there were people claiming that there is vat on every btc transaction, which is of course, nonsense.  i don´t think anyone believed purchasing goods with btc will make it 19% cheaper since the vat on the goods is magically lifted because of the use of btc.

5998  Economy / Speculation / Re: bullish news ? on: October 11, 2013, 01:40:41 PM
Misleading as usual, what that means is using Bitcoin as a payment service doesn't generate additional taxes vs. using Euro.

But I'm pretty sure the zealots will soon tout "If you use Bitcoin you don't have to pay taxes!!"  Roll Eyes

i expected your usual: "this is nothing" post sooner than #5

slowing down, eh ? Wink

purchases with bitcoin are cleared of extra vat in germany. extra vat does not apply to btc.  Smiley

6000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governments now own BTC on: October 10, 2013, 10:25:37 AM
I bet that in a few years we will hear about the first scandals involving lost or stolen government bitcoins.  Wallet security is not a trivial task for a large organizations, and government agencies have a track record of data security blunders.

One positive effect of this is that government agencies will now be forced to fully understand how bitcoin works, whether they want to or not.  That will help campaigners such as the Bitcoin Foundation in their efforts of educating governments.

indeed, there will be theft of government btc.
to edjucate government agency employees is a nice business idea.
