Sorry, I can't validate your submission , you need at least one alt above rank 100 on Coingecko. Please correct as soon as possible.
I will try to find a sponsor for this event (to smooth out the bitter disappointment of the last competition).
I hesitated to contact you to ask if a small partnership was possible. I agree, it's not the biggest contest, but it does offer long visibility
Mine climbed from 101 to 69 (Lol) already. Does that still count? It's OK. I take into account the ranking at the time your submission is posted.

Pour ceux qui ne fréquentent pas la section US, la possibilité de se connecter via un 2FA est maintenant possible sur Bitcointalk : Thanks to PowerGlove, who did 90% of the work on this, the much-requested 2-factor authentication feature has finally been added. You can enable it in your Account Settings, and then you have to give the code when logging in. If you don't have 2FA enabled, you have to leave the OTP field blank when logging in. If you use the forgotten-password function, then there's an option to remove the 2FA. So 2FA does not provide any protection in case of a compromised email. Make sure that your email address is secure. If you don't want to set an email address, use something like yourUserName@invalid.bitcointalk.org; don't use a random nonsense email like y@x.com, since somebody might create that domain/email. Let me know if there are any bugs. Il faut aller dans Profile > Account Related Settings pour activer le 2FA. Si vous le laissez à 'Disabled' rien ne change.

Thanks, it's working again. Even if it's not as precise, it gives an idea of the ranking. Even if it's very close for the podium and it could be decided by the photo finish. Thu Dec 21 00:00:01 UTC 2023 (see source for daily updates) 1. xSkylarx: $5113.762. jokers10: $4002.303. Vispilio: $3725.514. Yabes: $3720.695. slackovic: $3535.29

J'ai pas encore tout compris, je sais pas si Ledger est responsable ou non, mais ça semble sérieux et ça s'affole pas mal : (source : https://twitter.com/CryptoRank_io/status/1735284058853130628) donc gaffe à ce que vous faites. Edit : Warning: Multiple popular crypto applications that integrate with Ledger's ConnectKit library, including http://Revoke.cash have been compromised. We temporarily took the website offline as we're investigating further. We recommend not using *any* crypto website at all while this exploit is ongoing.

It is called Bitcointalk (BTT), not BCT.
First, let me correct you, it's either you call it Bitcointalk or BTT, not BCT.
Sorry for going off topic, but there are things I just can't let go . No, no, no fucking no. Don't spread nonsense. There's no logic saying BTT. Let's break down bitcointalk : Bitcoin Talk Bit Coin Talk You can't write Bi Tcoin Talk ?? What does Tcoin mean ? Do you say MS or MO for Microsoft ? Do you say VW or VK for Volkswagen ? And it's already been discussed in the past, the result is indisputable : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5121806.0

Question about this. Am I still qualified if my merit will be less than 5 on registration end date which is Dec. 31 2023.
Yes, you're just good. What counts is the date of the first post of this topic and the last 120 days preceding it.

Some information and quick answers. I deleted the message from user D. I had little doubt about it. I left the message from user C. In the meantime there have been replies, and I know user C, he's very provocative (and he responds to other provocations), but he's not an total idiot troll. And (*)Make a quarantine section in the local board called "Politics and Society" (but in french I guess) and just require all posts on the topic to be there or else they will go to the trashcan and also turn off notifications (for yourself) on that board.
The "Hors sujet" (off topic) section is already our Meta/P&S/OT section. Just lock the thread.
If I lock the topic, I've got 3 new ones opening up within 15 minutes, crying for injustice, censorship and infringement of freedom of speeeeeeech !!! Do whatever you like? You are the mod. You should decide.
A mods job is to stop such kind of shit discussion before it reaches a stage when personalization or pointing fingers starts based on religion.
No, a mod can't do whatever he wants, it's not that simple. If it were up to me, we would all have the same haircut and talk about football and Miss France . And I have tried many times to reduce the pressure between the same members by advising them to ignore each other because they will never change their minds. But it seems that for some, talking about the conflict between Israel and Palestine (or whatever) is their priority in their life. I would delete all of this comments or threads and would be forward that to the Global Moderators and theymos and Cyrus.
From my own experience, admins and GMs don't get too involved in this kind of case. You need clear evidence, and trolls know how to play by the rules. Below is an illustration of the French Off Topic board mood:
Fake picture, the glasses of red wine are missing . The French forum is dying because of all these assholes who want to kill everyone. Obviously that doesn't attract crowds.
Chuuutt, it's well known that everything is my fault . The way mods here seem to interpret the rules, only direct threats at a specific user would result in a ban, and even that's not always enforced. Saying that someone should be killed (but not directly saying "I'll kill you"), or that an entire nation should be exterminated is not considered a specific death threat... despite potentially breaking the law in some or many jurisdictions.
(*) This.

Hi there, For the last years, I've been organizing this little contest. First in the french section, now here since 2022. The idea is to make a small fictitious portfolio on January 1st 2024 and to see on December 31 2024 who has performed the best. Suppose that you have 1000$ and you want to make a small portfolio with 4 altcoins. Which ones do you choose and in what proportion ? Restrictions :You can not take BTC (or wrapped BTC etc...). You are not allowed to put more than 50% of your portfolio in one altcoin. You must put at least 5% of your portfolio in each altcoin. You can only take one stable coin (or none). Take at least one altcoin beyond the 100th position on Coingecko. Warning : before choosing an alt, check that on Coingecko, there is a tab Historical data (ex : Bitcoin). If on 01/01/2024, there is no price for your token, it is like playing with 3 Alts. Explanation :As the reference "buy" price, I will take the opening price reported by Coingecko in the historical data of 01/01/2024. And the closing price of 31/12/2024 will be used as reference "sale" price. The one who will see his or her fictitious portfolio progress the most in terms of value will be declared the big winner. Whoever bets on the best performing altcoin at the end of 2024 will receive a 100$ bonus on the value of his final portfolio. Whoever bets on the lowest performing altcoin at the end of 2024 will receive a 100$ penalty on the value of his final portfolio. Who can participate ?Anyone as long as you have reached the Member rank. You must have received 5 merits between the last 120 days and just before this post. You must not have any legitimate negative feedback from a DT member (I will decide whether or not a feedback is legitimate). No multi-accounts, thank you. Registration end date: 30/12/2023 11:59pm (Paris time). Registration is now closed. And what we can win ?There will be 3 winners : 1st : 0.0025 BTC + 0.0004 BTC *2nd : 0.0010 BTC + 0.0002 BTC *3rd : 0.0005 BTC + 0.0001 BTC ** 5+2 mBTC is generously offered by bc.game. Please note that if by luck (or misfortune, it depends ), I'am on the podium, the rewards will not be shifted and the 4th will receive nothing. Once the contest is over and the ranking is clear (I'll give you a few days to check if everything is OK, I can make mistakes), winners will be contacted by PM to ask for their BTC addresses and I'll send them their rewards. If there is no answer from a winner within 7 days, I will contact the 4th, then the 5th, etc... Rewards will be sent at the same time. Of course, your account should not be banned at the end of the contest. This contest lasts one year, be aware of this. The aim of this contest is to have a little fun (and to confirm that daddy BTC is still strong). The rewards are just there to spice things up a bit, like a bet between friends. In previous years, some people have added extra rewards. I'm not asking for anything, but if someone wants to make the rewards bigger, he is free to do so. But let's be clear: he's committed to pay the winners, otherwise his Trust page is likely to get colored. Under no circumstances I will claim the extra rewards, as I don't want to be responsible for other people's money (I could be hacked or hit by a bus tomorrow, etc...). Please register in this form (replace the information between '<...>') ( and make sure that the total is 100%) :

<Alt 1><proportion %><link on Coingecko><rank on Coingecko>

<Alt 2><proportion %><link on Coingecko><rank on Coingecko>

<Alt 3><proportion %><link on Coingecko><rank on Coingecko>

<Alt 4><proportion %><link on Coingecko><rank on Coingecko>

Good luck to all. May the halving be with us .

For once this topic is not going to be a topic of a member complaining about a moderator, but of a moderator complaining about the members of his section. I could have written this topic in the Staff section, but fearing the lack of answers and finding the subject interesting to get as many opinions as possible, I'm posting it here. A few reminders : I'm too lazy to find the exact quote, but Theymos said " the aim of this forum is to be as free as possible". Free of speeeech. Voltaire: " I don't agree with what you say, but I will fight to the death for you to have the right to say it." I agree with all that. And I was trying to moderate as best I could with all these parameters. Current context : Since 7/10, the world has fallen further into madness. User A : a member who has become radicalized and is absolutely against immigration to Europe and can be described as islamophobic. Of course he's a supporter of Israel and its actions. User B : a negationist member who sees Jewish lobbies everywhere. Of course he's anti-Israel. User C : an openly zionist member who can't even write the word god (he would write g.d) User D : a troll alt account that only gives links to extreme right-wing sites that list violent acts committed by arabs or africans. Mix it all up and let them do for 28 pages in a single topic. Imagine the carnage. Because yes, I have decided not to moderate this topic, or very little. But this morning you wake up with your head up your ass and see : [...] on october 7, the amalekites killed approximately 0.1% of the world's jews. to restore the balance, 0.1% of the world's mahometans must be killed. g.d's law is clear, the sources are multiple : exodus 21:23 to 25 : כְּוִיָּה֙ תַּ֣חַת כְּוִיָּ֔ה פֶּ֖צַע תַּ֣חַת פָּ֑צַע חַבּוּרָ֕ה תַּ֖חַת חַבּוּרָֽה עַ֚יִן תַּ֣חַת עַ֔יִן שֵׁ֖ן תַּ֣חַת שֵׁ֑ן יָ֚ד תַּ֣חַת יָ֔ד רֶ֖גֶל תַּ֥חַת רָֽגֶל וְאִם־אָסֹ֖ון יִהְיֶ֑ה וְנָתַתָּ֥ה נֶ֖פֶשׁ תַּ֥חַת נָֽפֶשׁ leviticus 24:19 and 20 : בֶר תַּ֣חַת שֶׁ֔בֶר עַ֚יִן תַּ֣חַת עַ֔יִן שֵׁ֖ן תַּ֣חַת שֵׁ֑ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר יִתֵּ֥ן מוּם֙ בָּֽאָדָ֔ם כֵּ֖ן יִנָּ֥תֶן בֹּֽו וְאִ֕ישׁ כִּֽי־יִתֵּ֥ן מ֖וּם בַּעֲמִיתֹ֑ו כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה כֵּ֖ן יֵעָ֥שֶׂה לֹּֽו deuteronomy 19:21 : וְלֹ֥א תָחֹ֖וס עֵינֶ֑ךָ נֶ֣פֶשׁ בְּנֶ֗פֶשׁ עַ֤יִן בְּעַ֙יִן֙ שֵׁ֣ן בְּשֵׁ֔ן יָ֥ד בְּיָ֖ד רֶ֥גֶל בְּרָֽגֶל
I'll leave the calculations to those who are interested, but we're still a long way off.
[...] Anyway Collecting organs from palestinians is called recycling for the environment. It's good for the planet.
I give you access to my account for 5 minutes. What would you do ? Are there no limits to everything, even here on Bitcointalk ? (To be clear, I'm not jewish or muslim. I don't believe in any god. I deeply believe that we would live better without religions, but that's not the debate of this topic.)Edit : I can't ban an account directly. The topic in question is already in the off-topic section.

There is less 800 sourced merit each 30 days than the last merit bell.
Indeed, it's a -1000 (there's no great mystery behind the disappearance of this MS) and a +200 (it's more a correction of an "anomaly" for this new MS).

The crypto world will always surprise me. It's happening, the flippening ! ETH has overtaken BTC ? No, let's be serious. But xSkylarx has overtaken Vispilio. And don't forget these rules : Whoever bets on the best performing altcoin at the end of 2023 will receive a 100$ bonus on the value of his final portfolio. Whoever bets on the lowest performing altcoin at the end of 2023 will receive a 100$ penalty on the value of his final portfolio.
