61  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Porn anyone? on: June 27, 2018, 08:46:45 AM
wherever porn goes, that technology succeeds.  Without porn we wouldn't be at where we are now with photos, video, the internet, tv, movies, etc etc...
Bitcoin NEEDS porn to be legitimate.

Agreed. Bitcoin needs porn. It certainly helped blu-ray win out over the technologically superior HD-DVD.

You are apparently right yet there are a lot of porn sites that accepts Bitcoin as a mode of payment for premium accounts but still why pay for a premium when you can download dozens of torrents of it?

Yet due to declining price of Bitcoin. It is also possible that it won't make a huge help to the industry in the future.
62  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dont list your coins in MERCATOX! They will delisted ! on: June 27, 2018, 08:11:26 AM
I have known some people who are onto trading in Mercatox.com and one thing is that they never experienced being scammed on it and they even refer it to others.

Yet, thank you for the warning. Hope this will reach them and the others so they can be careful.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you mean when you say Bitcoin is number 1 on: June 26, 2018, 01:52:44 AM
We are entering an era of multiple digital currencies, and many of them will survive. Bitcoin is certain to be one of them, but it can't be number one for every factor. Where do you think Bitcoin will stay as number 1

  • Store of value
  • Services in addition to simple money transfer
  • Convenience
  • Security
  • Investment/speculation
  • Safe transfer speed
  • Privacy
  • Freedom from globalist control
  • Other

Bitcoin will only remain number 1 for its services in addition to simple money transfer.
Its price is too unstable yet there are many factors affecting it and one that makes a huge impact is the hacking issues of cryptos that lowers the value of BTC in the market. Yes it is convenient, but not at all times. And it wasn't really secured enough and wasn't the only one to be the most secured crypto.
64  Other / Meta / Re: Account hacked Theymos and Cyrus please help me recover my account on: June 25, 2018, 03:52:39 PM
I'll tell you this right now. Both of the Admins - theymos and cyrus - are quite busy right now and more likely to not notice your thread. Approach them thru pms and bumping this thread.

Yet as a suggestion, do you know what is the email u used in it? Registered emails might help u recover it.

And also, if u really do want your account back, patience and hardwork must be your virtue.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Plagiarism in Whitepapers, what do you think? on: June 25, 2018, 03:36:30 PM
Well, plagiarism is a common thing in making a whitepaper for a company's ICO Project. They commonly copies some on their WP from other failed projects, and some really owned it, failed, and changed the idea and tried another one. Some you might think it is copied, yet due to a lot of ICO projects with the same idea and theme, instances of having the same thought on their whitepapers is highly not doubtful.

Yet with this cases, find an ICO who's whitepaper is original. So you can absolutely feel safe, yet cannot be comfortable that it would be a success.
66  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: If I forget wallet's password? on: June 25, 2018, 03:25:27 PM
one thing you should always remember is that having a wallet is like holding a crucial nuclear codes. Always keep in mind to have a copy of your recovery codes and passwords both digitally and handwritten on a paper. Value wallets as they are you wealth.

And sad to say, it can be recovered, but if you are only willing to pay hackers for your account. And if u haven't, im sorry to say bro.

Yet, try your best to recover it, try every passwords u can think of.
67  Other / Meta / Re: AI Bot on the forum? on: June 25, 2018, 03:14:04 AM
AI cant do posts like that. The randomization of characters together with the emoticons are too far from the capability of the AI from now. Yes AI can analyze texts and characters, but not the whole sense of it. We all do have our different typing techniques, yet you found his posts different from what you expect.

Hence, AI is too far to be a problem of the forum, and users who's just actively posting his emotions in forum especially in the politics thread aren't enough to gain moderators' attention.
68  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day - Why old members are no longer active here on: June 25, 2018, 03:06:07 AM
Not all old members are inactive. Some just doesn't think that the forum will boom and some optimists thought that the forum is a window to many things. Yet as time goes by, forum boomed to the wrong place and reach people who thought of forum as a money making machine and not a way to socialize with others with regards to certain topics. Some old members are onto tradings now and investing, they see forum as it really was, not as the shitposters, spammers, and scammers wanted the forum to be - windows to their wealth.

Sometimes I am also tired to post because who the hell wanted to reply on threads that already have alot of shit nonsense comments, and topics that are already asked.
69  Other / Meta / Re: Can this guy (cryptoaeronet) be ban? [information updated] on: June 25, 2018, 02:51:05 AM
The suicide threat is a particularly mean-spirited form of scam attempt.  Scammers know that a lot of people have bleeding hearts and are trained by the media to try to thwart any suicide attempt when they see it, and they know that it's a good way to get people to donate bitcoin.  I think bitcointalk ought to moderate suicide threats, just like they do with death threats.

If you're going to kill yourself, don't drag a bunch of internet strangers into your drama.  Either seek help IRL or just do it.  Coming here and talking about suicide is either trolling or a scam attempt as far as I'm concerned.

My guess is that this jerkoff doesn't even have a daughter.  In fact I'm hoping he hasn't reproduced and never will.

An idea just pumped into my head.

How about anyone who uses the forum as a way to express their suicidal issues and problems should be banned for days to permanent ban. Although it's inhumane, the forum is for knowledge and project promotions, not for giving sympathies and begging other users for Bitcoin because of their own lives and problems and that a life can be saved if someone donated. For me, forum isn't one's local government and health department, and definitely not one's nearest bank. Vod is a victim whom had tested his conscience and sympathy to someone and ended up losing alot for nothing.

Persons who beg for a life-or-death situations with no further proofs must be permanently banned, tracked, and be imprisoned forever.

And if you are willing to donate, know your clients first together with his full identity. We are all anonymous here, be safe.

btw, i liked what pharmacist said,  In fact I'm hoping he hasn't reproduced and never will. so dark lol
70  Other / Meta / Re: mindset of some people here on: June 22, 2018, 09:47:32 PM
Posting a new thread is like trying to make an attention with what you want to ask or say. One of the reasons now why we should somehow make or start threads is because to gain merit. And by gaining merit, we should start a UNIQUE and INFORMATIVE questions, facts, and/or answers.

With regards to most of newbies and users that aren't introduced enough or aren't known the widespread of BItcointalk Forum enough, having a doubt on them (why they post such threads that can be answered by google or already answered on the forum) is slightly a wrong thing. No blame to them that they think its what they need to do. This is a worldwide forum and an open website.

JUST A SUGGESTION
How about having an alert locked on all discussions and boards about what you should a disciplined bitcointalk user do?
I.e. Tips on how to be a pro-bitcointalk member
1. Don't shitpost nonsense. If u have questions, google it. If google can't answer, find the answer here. If the forum doesn't have your answer, start asking question.
2. If you have some important news or facts to say, search it first on forum if someone already has posted it. If it is already posted, don't try to post it again.
3. LASTLY, FEEL LIKE TALKING TO SOMEONE WITH REGARDS TO WHAT THEY ASK and STOP POSTING OR REPLYING NONSENSE THINGS JUST TO COUNT IT AS AN ACTIVITY.

Although its the same as in rules, a catchy title might catch the attention of newbies and those who don't know the bitcointalk forum enough.
71  Other / Meta / Re: What if... on: June 22, 2018, 01:24:06 PM

What If...

1. We stop the bounty campaigns signature campaign that pays token so the spammers will just focus on doing twitter/fb reports to a certain thread (which is the thread of the bounty they're enrolled) and an alternative is to hire a manager (Good manager) that will hold a signature campaign that pays Btc, Eth, etc. and put it to services section.
2. Implement a rule that in the forum and to bounty managers/projects that accept only a participants that has a merit for example.

Jr. Members - Needs 20 Merits
Members - Needs 30 Merits
And so on...

Negative effect:
1. Many of the shitposters will just going to send merits using their alt accounts.
2. Merit begging.
3. Merit Selling/Buying.

Positive effect:
1. The traffic will be the same.
2. The Spam will decrease.

Hey people I didn't say that all of what I've said is right, we're not sure. This is just all my Idea and I just want it to share.

I think your suggestion of stopping Bounty signature campaigns are too far to be possible.
FIRST, The ICOs, Platforms, and Crypto-related Projects do also needs the help of signature campaign as an additional way to promote their ICOs because some users here in Bitcointalk also onto investing on a certain ICO or Project they can see in users' signature. Also, not all users in here doesn't qualify in Twitter and/or Facebook campaigns of a project's Bounty.

SECOND, Bounty managers are just managers and not the bounty makers/investors/and especially they aren't the ones to pay. They just manage on who's participating and the auditors of participants' rewards. So suggesting certain currencies to be paid in their signature campaign is just them giving rewards on signature users without their ICO being successful in the long run.

And lastly, Merits nowadays are hard to gain even if you post with your maximum effort because of dozens of users also replying on a certain thread you replied. AND Spam will never decrease unless the all users are DISCIPLINED.

This merit system is enough to discipline shitposters and spammers for them to remain on their rank.
72  Other / Meta / Re: sig campaign- what about "1merited post per week" instead of"25 post per week" on: June 22, 2018, 02:28:20 AM
How about a harder task of 30 posts per week yet gain 2 merits from bounty managers and moderators? Just a suggestion yet managers do reviews post before giving rewards and stakes right?

And how about adding a rule that a single shitpost would lead to no stakes? For campaign participants to take posting sriously.
73  Other / Meta / Re: Mod - Please lift ban from my profile on: June 21, 2018, 01:18:36 PM
Hi

Please lift ban on my profile. I wasn't spamming just responded to the post requirements.

Thank you

Sir, with your responses insisting the moderators to remove your original account's ban despite of how well the rules are posted, locked, and even highlighted on the top of each and every sections, could lead to another ban of your new account and future accounts you will make just to insist more your complains.

Therefore, stop insisting like we don't get how important an old and high ranked account is. Although it is disappointing, all you can do is to make a new account following the bitcointalk's rules and regulation. Have respect sir or spend time posting complains and gain nothing.

77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government and Bitcoin on: May 26, 2018, 05:06:00 PM
It's simply because Bitcoin has too many risk to be accepted in global market, and it is originally made only as a fiat or currency in technology for easier transactions, meaning that if Bitcoin was accepted, its price will and should have a stable value for worldwide same exchange.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Really? Next Bitcoin is Litecoin on: May 19, 2018, 07:54:10 AM
Probably, Litecoin users and holders are those who spread that rumor. For most of the people who's onto cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin is still far from litecoin. Bitcoin took a lot of time to gain its colossal price, and so do ethereum and bitcoin cash. Therefore, Litecoin will still remain far from the Bitcoin, as well as far from ethereum and bitcoin cash.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mining , Is it worth it? on: May 19, 2018, 07:00:04 AM
It is definitely not worth it. Especially in our country (which I am also residing at), due to, like what you said, the electricity bills and the mining rigs, hardware, and other equipment such as cables, cooling fans, and etc. costs much more than you gain. Yet, it is good for those who already have huge amounts of cash to buy all necessary tools for crypto mining and for those who are onto waiting and long term run.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung has now entered the cryptocurrency world on: May 16, 2018, 12:09:01 PM
Well, as we all know, Samsung is the greatest among any of the manufacturers around the globe, from the appliances, to the handheld phone we daily use, it is all have parts from Samsung, like Apple iPhones and Mac books. Overall, reading news that they would also produce crypto-mining equipments will indeed have a good impact to crypto industry and to Bitcoin itself.
