Guys, I don't know how to start. After reading so many threads today I started thinking that " why some people have started their threads ?. Are they just joking ?. Don't they like to do  google search by them selves before asking some questions here ? etc. Because lots of threads have been started to ask like
Is this the end of crypto ?.
What should I do now ?
I'm panic by seeing the red market.
I lost $10 and now what I should do ? kind of posts.

Try it yourself. You will see lots of infant kind of questions. That kind of posts from newbies can be acceptable. But with even Jr members who have more than 200+, 300+ post counts ??. Guys, you have come here after studying the crypto at least for 1-2 hours. Bitcointalk is not your first start point ( at least for 90% people here ). So be professional. Don't ask silly questions that doesn't make any sense. Also before asking any question here take a look at google first. Don't cry by seeing the market goes up and down. First understand it is normal. I think you can understand what I mean by this post. This is just my personal idea. Have a happy forum time  Smiley

Google.com is a way to know a lots of things. But if we found all and take all result from google then why we will use bitcointalk? The theme of the forum is to learn about crypto. So if someone have a question on their mind they can ask here. How you attack other users? I think you have no right to attack them such a way.

Yes,we have bitcointalk for discuss about cryptocurrencies but asking those kind of questions may not be acceptable. The answer for their questions maybe already available so they need to use the search option available for them then they will find the same thread with thousands of replies.

But most of the people creating those kind of threads with the intention of filling their weekly quota for their signature campaigns. Roll Eyes

We can report those kind of repetitive threads to the moderators and already I can see lot of those kinds of threads were moved by mods so keep reporting them.

The truth is that spammers at bct will not care about your thoughts, mine or anyone else's. They just want to do the work they want to do and not follow the rules - until they are banned!
Bct has been around for more than 8 years, and 8 years is enough for this forum to get all the answers needed for every question (within the confines of the usual crypto world). Need to know something - they just have to look for old posts on this forum - but they are too lazy to do so!
Technology is growing day by day, and now we have a deeper interest, more questions to discuss and finding the right answer. But that almost belongs to a handful of people who are really knowledgeable and experienced.
Those people are almost separated from at least 80% of the users of this forum - those who view bct as a place to make money. So you can not expect them to act like scientists. It's true!  Grin

OP was here before the merit system came about, but only by about 2 weeks.  I'd like to point out to him that the main reason Theymos created it was in response to the bullshit that OP described--and he's correct that bitcointalk is swamped with moronic threads.  Most of them are designed to give bounty shitposters easy questions to answer, as if posting here is a high school essay exam with a character minimum.  It's ridiculous.

When I see idiotic threads get started, I've been in the habit of putting the thread starter on ignore.  I have so many members on my ignore list that it sometimes amazes me that I'm able to see any posts at all--but the accounts just keep coming, and I can't put them on ignore fast enough.

OP, you might want to use the "ignore board" feature.  I have Bitcoin Discussion and a number of others on ignore, and it helps keep my unread threads feed relatively clean.

Eventually, all the people who actually contribute are just going to have most of the sections on ignore or they will just straight up leave like others have before. I think a few years from now we'll just be talking in Meta.

I don't personally have any sections on ignore, however I do understand why someone would do this as some of the sections are just getting out of hand now.

I've got all the bounty and alt boards on ignore, and often when I look at a junior members post history, I can only see half a dozen posts. The member could have a post count in the 300s, and no merit, so I guess that speaks volumes. I'd like to start every new member on ignore, and take them off when they have shown themselves to have potential, but I can't think of a way to do this. Maybe we could have a feature that allows us to ignore all members who haven't received any merit. Oh wait! we could do that if new members had their own boards until they received merit, that would cut down on some of the spam on the main boards.

Only single answere all of your question. That is signature campaign. Yes it's true, due to signature campaign people make unnecessary question/ topic or reply. We can't prevent it. Many people post thread about solution but no one care about it. Most dangerous thing to allow newbie and Jr. member for sign camp.

Posting a new thread is like trying to make an attention with what you want to ask or say. One of the reasons now why we should somehow make or start threads is because to gain merit. And by gaining merit, we should start a UNIQUE and INFORMATIVE questions, facts, and/or answers.

With regards to most of newbies and users that aren't introduced enough or aren't known the widespread of BItcointalk Forum enough, having a doubt on them (why they post such threads that can be answered by google or already answered on the forum) is slightly a wrong thing. No blame to them that they think its what they need to do. This is a worldwide forum and an open website.

JUST A SUGGESTION
How about having an alert locked on all discussions and boards about what you should a disciplined bitcointalk user do?
I.e. Tips on how to be a pro-bitcointalk member
1. Don't shitpost nonsense. If u have questions, google it. If google can't answer, find the answer here. If the forum doesn't have your answer, start asking question.
2. If you have some important news or facts to say, search it first on forum if someone already has posted it. If it is already posted, don't try to post it again.
3. LASTLY, FEEL LIKE TALKING TO SOMEONE WITH REGARDS TO WHAT THEY ASK and STOP POSTING OR REPLYING NONSENSE THINGS JUST TO COUNT IT AS AN ACTIVITY.

Although its the same as in rules, a catchy title might catch the attention of newbies and those who don't know the bitcointalk forum enough.

You know sometimes when we ask a question, it is not because we don't have an answer or don't know where to get the answers from. Sometimes all we just need is that single comment from people to know we are not alone in this fight. Don't judge people. Some people are actually and I mean it really alone in real life and all they have is internet friends who respond to their every stupid and careless question. That keeps them going day in day out. What such people need is not Google but people around them.

I got your point, right that's why its a "discussion" however what I think OP is pointing out is that there are so many useless threads and it is being used by shitposters just to create "at least 50-75 characters constructive posts" without reading that it was answered multiple times. Btw whats the next big ico this year?  Grin

Hardly anybody reads comments. Google search takes effort. It is easier to ask questions without thinking. I want someone to pre-chew my food for me too. Is that 70 characters yet ? I can't be bothered to count. Damn I think I exerted myself and wrote too much.

We are surrounded by legends on this forum. Phenomenal successes and catastrophic failures. Then there are the scams. This forum is a digital museum.

I may do not have the right to talk about this but yeah basically. Most of this are just for those who wants to have their quota in signature campaigns. Because spammers are too lazy to atleast make a little bit of effort in posting. Tho some reason that I know before is that they are doing it to easily rank their accounts so they could sell it on a high price.

That is how the current system. We can't deny the fact that the root cause of this problem is the bounties
Which is also i think almost impossible for the mods to remove.
