Really, I would have. I can understand that.
But TWO months late, and NO communication, nothing, then this?
Sorry, I just can't buy it.

Yes, if legitimate business were going on, that just encountered genuine issues, what would've happened is as follows

Yifu first realises he can't ship by his deadline
Yifu informs customers he might not be able to ship by his deadline, and comes up with a reasonable ETA
Outraged customers ask for a refund, others just accept the facts
Yifu refunds those who asked for it, since he has breached the terms of his "no bullshit" contract
Yifu ships the remaining open orders within the new estimated time

Really that easy  ...and most buyers would've just accepted the delay in that scenario.

63  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSE] ASICs group buy by pidobir on: August 31, 2013, 08:38:07 AM
Some news.
Speed devices is lower by about 20%. All orders MetaBank plans to ship within 3 weeks. Our total order will be shipped probably no earlier than two weeks.
Subject to some changes.
Thx.

20%!? But that's a huge drop!

I am trying to think of another market where customers purchasing a product (no equity, royalties or future considerations are received just the product) also fund the start up of the business, can anyone think of one?

Anything on Kickstarter
65  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 31, 2013, 04:21:27 AM
After crawling through pm's in hours half of the members got back to me. 3829 Chips want to be kept and 22086 REfund. 30085 have to claim still.

Could be that he have to merge with zefir to get a full batch. In any case 2 batches are ready to be refunded in case yifu opens the refund form.

I hope the remaining buyers are getting back to me, probably it wouldnt be fun to read what they write when they come back and find their missed chance. But i sent everyone a pm. I will send those buyers an email too soon to remember.

You could just apply the same response ratio to the remaining unanswered chips, if they still have not responded in time

I am tired of this toxic community malformed by greed.

.)) you kidding me chinese kid, right? maybe you are just stupid or completely lost your mind, bud please let me remind you your funny page:

Code:
The no bullshit, no fine print terms of sale:

5. the lead time on the chips is 9 to 10 weeks

source: http://store.avalon-asics.com/?page_id=9605

so, as you can see, there was a deal and you simply breach one of points defined by you..and now, after couple of weeks of delay, you have a courage to post something about greed?
omfg, refund everybody and go away..

+1 Hundred Million

I am curious about opinions.

Just say you have a person today that wants to start bitcoin mining. How do they start and be able to at least ROI their investment? Just curious about what your plan would be.

At current point I would rather buy bitcoins and wait for the hardware transition to cool down and then very carefully choose the most efficient technology with longest lifespan. This is not a good time for unexperienced to start mining operations Risk/Reward ratio is very poor.

I have already sent a PM asking for a partial refund

I think that is the most amicable way to resolve this.

Even if that means only 50%, I would rather have that money back in my pocket
70  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 29, 2013, 11:11:27 AM
I'm pissed as you, but now insult Yufu like there's no tomorrow does not help anybody.

He broke ToS with the delay, now he is trying to remedy in some way. Although the simple refund may not be enough (assembly costs already paid, deals fallen, community works trashed (see Bkk), etc...) he seems willing to find a solution.

Good suggestions can help.
Insulting only, not.

I disagree,

The past couple months have proven for a fact, that yifu will sit idle unless the community SCREAMS at him
Only when we trash out the company, and send legal demands, does he bother to respond.

I am tired of this toxic community malformed by greed.
Dude has a point...

Fuck off.

The profits of miners ASSEMBLED by the DIY community (not even by yifu!!) was never going to be huge. Still, it would've been some nice little pocket money - sadly I also brought other people in with me to join in on this excitement - as it would be our first "real" mining unit, an asic, previously only obtainable by the rich and the connected, unique and first of its kind made by the people for the people. I wanted to be apart of that! Yifu took that away from us... and left a sour taste behind, the magic is gone. These chips looked like a hope of bitcoin remaining decentralised and for the people, but that dream is dying an ugly angry death.
72  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 29, 2013, 05:44:27 AM
Please keep in mind that Yufi is not Avalon. He is a dumb PR whose best business plan was to resell low cost tablets from China (do you remember the interview?).
For as much as we know, he could be forced by nzhang to do what he did.
Where is him, BTW? Still sick (another excuse used to delay batch 2?)

Forced eh? Right...
"Hey you! yes you! PR guy! I demand that you do the worst PR job ever! BFL are so far in the lead on this, and we need to catch up!"

Thanks.

brb making refund form, I'm done with this.

I think Yifu is just scared shitless now that Zefir has posted and proposed to the investors to pursue legal action.

But, shouldn't we just say "fuck the refunds" and legally bury Avalon for good? I'd happily throw in some extra BTC to fund such operation. Even though I'm in steamboats groupbuy and not Zefir's, I'm going to support his action with hard BTC might it need to come to that.

It's time the bitcoin community took a stance against these elaborate scams.

This was intentional, and when it is proven, yifu, it will mean jail-time for you and your gang.

The latest batch of asicminer blades had a significant price drop and all got INSTANTLY bought up by big resellers
This has totally fucked me who bought them higher, and suffered a delivery delay, I tended to think you could slowly crawl your way up, through a combination of mining and reselling... but the opportunities keep disappearing as the big companies have moved in. So unless you happen to be a bitcoin millionaire - there is not much hope.
Quite saddening - but I suppose all good things must come to an end - and we missed the ship.
76  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN]Group Buy#9 ASICMINER Erupter USB Miner 0.31 BTC Or Less USA/INTERNATIONAL on: August 28, 2013, 08:57:12 AM
SSB you are a legend!

Like many others here, this is the first i've actually managed to even receive a product from these forums
And on top of it, you included extra to make up for price drops and delays. Very happy! Will buy again and will recommend!

Thanks for bringing some light to this dark bitcoin world.

Keep up the good work! +Trust
77  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [AUCTION] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: August 28, 2013, 06:18:14 AM
The miners are going to auction and people are paying what they are willing to pay. No one is being forced into anything. If you believe that $300 is a more reasonable price for the boards we are making, they were available at that price for weeks, the opportunity was there.

Yes. This.

I actually think the auction was the fairest way to do it.

It swept away the buying-in-at-the-last-second approach that I'm sure many people were attempting to do.
Also,
If it hadn't gone to auction, most likely a single buyer would've snapped up all 16 boards in 1 hit, and thus, opportunity gone.
This way, if you are prepared to pay more for the opportunity, than it's yours.

To those who sat on the fence and missed out... welcome to bitcoin.

I want Yifu's head on a stick.

Its bad to fall of the earth. It's for a small kid to say i'm not death after no communicatio to people who gave you millions. The worst part is to lie / scam and still not doing anything the third time.

I just want to see Avalon top managers in prison. Don't really care about chips or refund. They can have it back.

got an idea guys, click on Bitsyncom's trust and give him a poor review:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=68196

it'll look like this: http://imgur.com/q58JdcB

Retard Inaba (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=8198) on the other hand has no negative feedback...so strange.

Put me in your trust circle... he will pop a -5.

The trust circle thing isn't a very good system.. it makes sense for small numbers.. but when you have negative trust EN MASSE! like yifu has.. it shouldn't matter that it's from "untrusted" sources - enough full members saying they;ve been ripped off should be visible.
I was shocked to find out that other members can't see his negative trust.. what's the fucking point? all these bad dealers go completely unaffected

Ha! mixed chip rigs, now that'd be interesting. Franken-miner!
