63  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Need help with getting a pool for a renting a mining rig.... on: July 20, 2015, 07:31:53 PM
What you want to mine?
Which hardware you rented out?
If you rented SHA256 hardware then open up whomined.com and choose your pool from there.
There you will see pools and their hashrate distribution.
Please look at other threads here so you can choose your pool wisely.

Very nice, congrats on first post!
What are the temps inside there?
65  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS - EU] Antminer S1 hashboards, control pcb, S2 fans on: July 19, 2015, 10:10:07 AM
I do not have s3 controller at the moment.

As for model of fan from S2 you can see spec on pictures. I disassembled a couple of S2 and in all of them were same fans like on picture that I put. I did not saw different size fans they are 120mm x 38mm 12V 1A with 4pin connector. I am shipping from Serbia.

He means try with different voltage settings for chips in dashboard. Also try with lower clock settings. Did you tried to connect 4 PCI-e power cables or 2?

I had both fans wired directly to the PSU "both S5 original fans" then I remove the internet connection and I was still able to view my miner status page. The temp shot up well above 80c <snip>

the bold part there says you are lying...

anyway, your posts are becoming very annoying..

Annoying or not.. I had the same experience he described.

I lost my internet connection when I was out one day.  Came home, heard the miners beeping.  I physically looked at the miners and the heat coming off of them was tremendous.  I logged in and I was able to see a temp of 102 or 106 (I can't recall right now).  I freaked out, killed the power and stuck a box fan on them to cool off.  So I didn't get a screenshot that time.

I don't know what the software should or should not allow (allowing access or not).  I do know I got this screenshot when a pool failed (and the software did not appropriately rollover).  The software also didn't shutdown.  I know the fan was barely spinning (no matter what the screenshot showed).  So I know there are multiple inconsistencies with what the software should do but doesn't.  The screenshot temp was in harmony with my IF thermometer reading.

on the official firmware when you lose connection to a pool, cgminer doesnt run the bitmain sensors api and the ui freezes on whatever readings it was on the last time it was ran. it just loops trying to connect to pool.

but in your case the fan did slow down, as well as mine.
but dog1965 is saying his fans are on the psu via molex adapter running at 100% and his s5 was still running above 80c..

It is very troublesome when S5 is used on stock settings for fan. I connect fans directly to molex on psu they are 100% RPM all the time. Tried to kill the internet temps were fine, checked with laser thermometer on boards and heatsinks as well. So anyone who wants to solve issues with burning boards just connect fan on molex and you are good to go.

74  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5: Not mining on: July 11, 2015, 10:57:28 AM
It is very important to use single rail PSU because on multi rail PSU it is very difficult to know how they are split on physical cables and then things can get very nasty.

Ok aside sh*ting on Bitmain which I understand. I played around with some compressed PVC panels and results are pretty good. Fan on front is Delta TFC1212 5500 rpm.

And with this setup it does not matter if internet connection is lost or pool is not working there is no chance to burn anything...

78  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5: Not mining on: July 07, 2015, 11:00:23 AM
It seems that something is not working how it should. Try with some brand PSU with at least 750W or stronger. If problem continues then it is something with control pcb. Also did you tried with different firmwares?

Just recived my s5-s from warranty and one board still not working.

Wtf, why are you sending the bad boards back?

Where are you located? Which version of hash board you received?

Located in romania, last week i had shippment some boards to warranty to bitmain, they fix the boards and shipt them back but surprize... one board still not working.

why do they send bad boards? with the QC passed sticked on the board i had payed the DHL shippment to china very expensive.

I see, well you could contact bitmain international support and not Bitmain in China. You will spend less on shipping because they have service center near you.

i hope 42 makes it
i didn't come to piss on anyone parade

if you get a more public website
with all the wallets/chains listed
flesh out the fork version
then 42 deserves reconsideration

but for now it still seems in limbo

Yup, those things are important for using and information about network itself...
