61  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - The most advanced Bitcoin Client in existence! (v0.5-alpha) on: February 09, 2012, 08:25:58 PM
Armory doesn't show my outputs from P2Pools generation transactions. Is this related to the "strange" output script that always appears first in these transactions?
62  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU bitforce overclock monitor fanspeed RPC in C linux/windows/osx 2.2.1 on: February 02, 2012, 05:26:56 PM
i do have a windows XP problem. It doesnt work on my friend's machine either (hes running winxp 32 bit)
You still haven't mentioned what the problem is. That said, you shouldn't expect modern hardware and software to operate painlessly on your legacy system. I don't see any Linux users demanding 2.4 support, which was the kernel version at the time WinXP was released.
63  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - The most advanced Bitcoin Client in existence! on: February 02, 2012, 12:10:52 PM
I finally went through the hassle of building Armory on my Gentoo x86_64 workstation. Well, it turned out to not be any hassle at all. Ridiculous nice work, etotheipi! Consider yourself donated to.

Only issue I had was when manually importing multiple keys to the same wallet. Transactions was only scanned for the first entry, but restarting Armory caused every key to be refreshed, so it was no show-stopper at all. Looking forward to standalone connection handling. Smiley
64  Economy / Speculation / Re: new bitcoinica promo ? no spread ? on: January 19, 2012, 06:44:39 PM
We lowered the spread temporarily because we had been in asterisk mode for a long time. Just recovered from that and we want some volume to heat up the market again.

Bitclown approves. Grin
65  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitscalper anyone use this ? on: January 16, 2012, 11:44:05 AM
About time we had another BTC scam. And as usual there's no shortage of gullible users. "Of course it's too good to be true, but if we all chip in with small amounts we can still make this scam successful".

Reminds me of the forex scheme "Maria" was running here a few months ago. "Just deposit $1000 and run this random binary for guaranteed 20% weekly profit. Sorry guys, the system failed. Balance: 0."
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pool Ops are now the Alt Currency Police on: January 11, 2012, 05:37:05 PM
I would love to hear (or read) from a miner at Eligius pool and how THEY feel about having their hashing power used for something they didn't consent to or agree with ?
Luke can print out my hashes and use it as toilet paper if he want as long as he sticks to his fair reward scheme and pays in virgin generation txs. It's just random numbers.

And your point is ?

My point that price of bitcoin should rise more slowly (proportional to the number of bitcoin users). And right now we have a bubble. So, I propose to sell.

Last time the price began accelerating it caused the number of user to grow massively. Unfortunately the majority of these users were just kids who wanted free candy money from their graphics cards and couldn't care less about the revolutionary properties of the system. The users who actually put money into the market were led to believe that Bitcoin usage was exploding. So I agree, too steep price increases makes mining too profitable for the market's own good. Smiley

Thanks, but I've decided to settle on Lunar Time for now.

70  Economy / Economics / Re: Where did all the doomsayers go? on: December 08, 2011, 02:08:01 PM
proudhon realized the distinction between being realistic and being an asshole, nagle finally got bored of waiting for the ask price to reach $0.0000, but Edward50 is still raging about how Bitcoin have failed because Mongox support/resistance is asymmetrical. The forum climate is approaching pre-June temperatures and some cool block chain uses are discussed in the dev and alternative clients forums. I'm bitclown and I like bitcoins.
71  Economy / Speculation / Re: Transactions volume at an all time high? on: November 29, 2011, 07:30:39 AM
Last time it was repeated change from a 500k Mongox wallet. I guess it isn't all withdrawn quite yet.
72  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: EUROPEAN BITCOIN CONFERENCE 2011, PRAGUE NOV 25-27 on: November 28, 2011, 08:28:51 AM
There hasn't been much hype for Bitcoin lately. Are there any interesting developments to be announced at this conference?
Yes.
What were the announcements?
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The bitcoin wiki crash the browser on: November 24, 2011, 09:56:50 AM
Rebuild your client with debug symbols and post the stack tra... Oh. Format and reinstall should do.

2009 called and wanted their platform back. They also kept going on about this bitcoin thing. Not falling for that one.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New rising star, still mtgox ? on: November 18, 2011, 10:23:40 AM
It's just change from these inputs, which ends up in small amount txs, just like an exchange would make cold storage coins available for online automated withdrawals. Are there any public available tools for analyzing tx graphs? Should be fairly easy to cross-check with known Mt. Gee deposits/withdrawals.
75  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Myth of the Manipulator on: November 17, 2011, 12:54:30 AM
The greatest trick the manipulator ever pulled was convincing the world he doesn't exist.
This is one of the dumbest things I've read all day.
I thought it was funny. Cry
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: With the big sells today why did BitmarketEUR have +5.94% ??? on: November 16, 2011, 08:41:28 AM
It's just a desperate way to try to keep bitcoins value high.
The bid was placed on 2011-05-25. This chump[ette] probably abandoned Bitcoin months ago. Also, [s]he is Australian.
77  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: libbitcoin on: November 16, 2011, 08:26:42 AM
The config script now checks for bdb 5.1, but 5.1 is not included in the list of versions checked at m4/ax_berkeley_db_cxx.m4:60.

The Gentoo ebuild should pull it in a slot:
Code:
DEPEND="sys-libs/db:5.1 ..."

Oh, and ridiculous nice work by the way!
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Win32 namecoind is a piece of crap and more hassle than it's worth on: November 14, 2011, 08:26:38 AM
Namecoin was hacked together to claim the enormous BitDNS bounty. The bounty holders forgot to require a clean implementation, well-maintained code and user friendly tools.
79  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will not turn...... on: November 09, 2011, 10:48:43 PM
Yeah, we're all probably scrutinizing things a little too much and that, in turn, is causing some market fluctuations.  Let's all relax, and maybe buy a pair of alpaca socks.
80  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How did you get your first bitcoin? on: November 08, 2011, 12:15:15 PM
I mined my first coins on CPU when it was not profitable, so I guess I'm an enthusiast. My first purchase was 10 BTC @ $0.8 from CoinPal.
