61  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Legalization of drugs? on: January 31, 2018, 04:44:42 PM
scutzi128, I see where you're coming from, but take one important factor into consideration: the fact that drugs are illegal in most of the countries doesn't mean they're not easily obtainable. Seriously, look at the statistics from Portugal or the Netherlands, they speak for themselves.
62  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Legalization of drugs? on: January 31, 2018, 04:24:52 PM
Problem is addiction and no one gets addicted to  bleach.

Plenty of people are additcted to tobbaco and more importantly alcohol though and they're both legal and widely accepted by society. In fact, statistics related to alcohol abuse are far more terrifying than these related to drugs. See for yourself:

http://www.cityvision.edu/drug-and-alcohol-abuse-facts-and-statistics

Also, check the links I posted earlier, it's hard to argue with facts. Countries where drugs were legalized / decriminalized benefited from it in a variety of ways.

Also, as for the claim that no one gets addicted to bleach, you must have not heard about this charming lady: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBfw5NMgizU  Wink
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoinfuji replace Bitcoin as the top dog? on: January 31, 2018, 01:30:34 PM
Read the white paper, Bitcoinfuji is the next generation
Do you think Governments are going to endorse coins like Monero.
Bitcoin is tainted, you can see: time tells all little boy!

What do you need governments' endorsement for? Why refer to Bitcoin in the name of your sophisticated, next-gen game changer alt if Bitcoin is such a tainted thing of the past as you suggest? You're inconsistent and ridiculous with your claims. Also, LOL at the ad hominem "little boy" argument, just as serious as your entire project.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoinfuji replace Bitcoin as the top dog? on: January 31, 2018, 12:04:31 PM
www.bitcoinfuji.com is not a fork it is the next generation
What a joke. A thousandth alt claiming to be THE next thing that is supposed to beat Bitcoin with a low quality site and a "HOT TOPIC" on Bitcointalk (LMAO). Such a low quality, over-spammed effort, get outta here.
65  Other / Meta / Re: Merit donation thread on: January 31, 2018, 11:51:35 AM
Where can I find those threads made by the merit sources? Please send me a link if you have any? I tried to find it after you mentioned it, but couldn't find it. I also edited my top post.

Check these out:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2828412.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2843413.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2833111.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2827596.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2825523.0

TBH you should really not worry about merit though and just focus on writing constructive posts, it will come.
66  Other / Meta / Re: Merit donation thread on: January 31, 2018, 11:23:51 AM
I am not one of those who deserves merit based on my posts, but I see a lot of people who does. But noone is giving merits when it's deserved. I have seen posts were people compliment the topics, but never sends any merits. That's why I'm starting this thread.

To me it's obvious that you posted the negative comment just to be merited for it. You should be thankful that someone is actually trying to help other users in this forum.

Did you actually care to read TMAN's post? Based on your reply it seems you either didn't read it, didn't understand it or you're high. There are numerous threads started by merit sources where users can link to their posts which they think they should get merit for. Use the search function. I admit, I chuckled at your allegation that TMAN's reply was only posted to get merit so thanks for that, but still you're just littering the forum with your baseless, insincere white knight syndrome bullshit.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto slide on: January 30, 2018, 07:51:26 PM
Today's drop in price is more than likely sponsored by FUD associated with the Bitfinex & Tether audit announced by the US regulators. Bitfinex & Tether got subpoenaed (on 6th of December) but the news was only published around 2 hours ago. I'm not worried about the price long-term, and neither should you, Bitcoin has overcome every obstacle so far and I don't see why this would change!
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Masternode on: January 30, 2018, 07:31:31 PM
ROI usually isn't very high, but this depends on the crypto. Dash will make you around 4.5K USD a month for example, but you need 1000 Dash to run a masternode (roughly 688K USD). I found this site that you should find useful with a cost / ROI breakdown and a bunch of other stats for various crypto masternodes: https://masternodes.pro/
69  Other / Meta / Re: TMAN's Level up challenge. on: January 30, 2018, 05:43:08 PM
some of the subs are just cesspools
+1 on this, it feels like most of the currently active users are either shitposters, spammers (both these tend to moan the loudest about the recent merit introduction) or should have never left their local boards in the first place.

I hope making 40 consecutive posts that bring any value to the forum will make the prize of the challenge redundant to any participants. Either way - good luck everyone!

Right.. I know it is a little early, but I have gone through the posters in this thread and you are the man... you are trying, it comes across in your posts bud.. so you get the 1st level up.. its a cheap one for me as it is only 4 merits. This shows that others are recognizing quality posts which is fucking awesome..

if it keeps on like this and people keep on meriting me then I may be able to bring the next level up even sooner!!

well done Cry4Crypto - in future I hope I can assist in leveling you up to 100 merits

Cheers mate, much appreciated! I've been lurking for a long time before I decided to open an account, now I'm here to stay! I'm genuinely interested in simply exchanging views with others and helping others out whenever I can, while having a little fun of course. I'm happy to have come around before the whole merit drama started, would have been a real shame to miss this milestone that turned out to be so traumatic to many!  Grin
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Funniest Bitcoin story ever! on: January 29, 2018, 11:35:32 PM
Which part of the story is supposed to be funny again? I read it twice and failed to find the part where you're supposed to chuckle. It's absolutely fucking disguisting to be taking advantage of anyone, and especially the elderly since they're most vulnerable. Fuck whoever stole their money and fuck you if you really find it amusing.
71  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How do I avoid tax on crypto on: January 29, 2018, 11:28:47 PM
I see a lot of replies but few answers to your actual question & a lot of blatant misinformation. If you want to cash out a significant amount of money, there are a few countries with no capital gains taxes like Singapore or Malaysia and a few others. Denmark has introduced tax exeption laws for Bitcoin. In Germany if you hold Bitcoin for over a year and sell it, you pay no tax. I recall Slovenia being a Bitcoin-friendly country in tax terms, but don't exactly remember what the exact deal is there. Hope this helps.
72  Other / Meta / Re: Some problems of the merit system and solutions to improve it on: January 29, 2018, 11:05:38 PM
Why not just give the system in its current form a chance? It hasn't even been a week since it was introduced and there are already dozens of people complaining and proposing various improvements. Last I've heard forums were meant for exchanging views by definiton. Just bring value to the forum and don't focus on ranking up or hoarding merit.
73  Other / Meta / Re: Smart spammers on: January 29, 2018, 10:53:33 PM
Holy shit man, that's an impressive find. I was going to write that I'm actually amazed by the amount of effort someone took to come up with these, but then i realized that it's merely a matter of copy-pasting into one of dozens of spinners. On a scale 1-5, 2 for effort, 3 for creativity, 0 for shitposting & an honorary 5 for your eagle eye.
74  Other / Meta / Re: Should merit be earned across the whole forum? on: January 29, 2018, 02:53:49 PM
Isn't it entirely in the hands of users to determine which posts they want to give others merit for? In Theymos' announcement there was no mention of any limitations when it comes to specific sections of the forum. I would personally prefer that merit sources don't bother with the off-topic section though (does it feel "right" to give someone merit for their posts about their favourite movies, quotes or dietary habits on a Bitcoin Forum?) and would be happy to see merit granted for meaningful posts pertaining to Bitcoin or alts. If the system's goal is to rid of shitposters and raise the overall quality of posts in the forum, I would rather see this improvement in Bitcoin-related sections.
75  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin price continue to go down? on: January 29, 2018, 01:04:25 PM
I have already lost 1/4 of my investment in bitcoin. what can you suggest? should I continue n holding bitcoin or should I just sell it to cut my losses? I eagerly need your help on these one, specially to those people who has experience in trading.
Your BTC may be worth 25% less than it was when you bought it, but keep in mind that you do not lose anything unless you decide to sell below the price you bought it at. I'm not worried about BTC's value - if you look at the charts, don't just look at the performance from the last few months - ZOOM OUT. Don't give in to FUD. I am confident we'll see a new ATH later this year (that's what my crystal ball said). I am short-term bearish & mid-term bullish myself.
76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you detect scam? on: January 29, 2018, 12:44:27 PM
Obvious scam red flags:

- someone asks you to transfer a small amount of any crypto to participate,
- someone asks for your private keys (NEVER give them to ANYONE),
- promising unrealistic returns - if something seems too good to be true, it is,
- asking for any form of ID (driving license, passport, etc.) to participate,
- low quality website & no whitepaper,

That list is by all means not exhaustive, hopefully other users will give additional advice.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Loaded moves 40 000 Bitcoins to a SegWit Address on: January 28, 2018, 08:12:14 PM
Can you send from a Bech32 address to an old classic address (like exchanges still use)?
Yes, no problems with sending from Bech32 addresses, the receiving part is still an issue though.
78  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit. How to change of rank from Jr. Member to Member? on: January 28, 2018, 12:06:49 PM
For starters, you could use the Search function (in the upper-right corner) or browse dozens of threads on the subject in the Meta section of the forum. Seriously, this question is getting posted at least 10 times every single day since merit was introduced. Bring value to the forum & stop shitposting. Work your way from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0  Roll Eyes
79  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nobody has seen Bitcoin creator "satoshi" ?? on: January 28, 2018, 12:05:37 AM
For me Craig Wright is the guy, as Gavin Andresen said in the video below, that  Mr Craig Wright digitally signed messages using cryptographic keys linked to blocks of bitcoins known to have been mined by Satoshi Nakamoto.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNZyRMG2CjA&t=6s
Possessing the key does not automatically make him Satoshi but it's a really high change to be him.
You have to be insane or underinformed to think that he could be the real Satoshi. That guy is a total joke and only attempted this coming out as the real deal because apart from being a fraud, he's also an attention whore. He did not present any admissable proof that he's Satoshi and he never will.

Read this: http://archive.is/kjuLi#selection-2505.0-2505.153

When this con man was called out, he changed his story and said that he deliberately submitted 'fake proof'. Fuck Craig Wright.
80  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Book recommendations about cryptography? on: January 27, 2018, 11:42:02 PM
Maybe somebody know good video/audio courses from where to learn?

There are dozens of videos on YT but most of them are worthless IMO, the most informative I know of (entry-level) is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aHkqB2-46k

It's the first of a series of lectures by dr. Christof Paar. If you can endure the camera instability and find it useful, check out his channel - he has 20+ lecture videos there.
