BTW, do you still have the rack mounting brackets? I'll be putting this into a rack.

They never came with them, guessing they've lived their entire lives in racked shelving of some kind.  They do have handles on the front though.

No problem, I'm sure I can figure something out.

I'll take one.

Can you let me know the total for one plus shipping to 75071? I assume your good with escrow?

Thanks!

I'm good with escrow(prefer ognasty as I've worked with him a few times) if you cover the fee.

Going to cost $30 to ship to your zip, so total to your door is $310.

I will contact him right now. I've used him as well.

But there is a better way to build a hackintosh

Do tell... I'm weeks away from buying another iMac.

PM if you dont want to post OT in this thread.

All of the major hardware mags tried to build a hackintosh to compare and could not match the price. and even when they
came close, they only did so by leaving out several features. Not to mention none could do it at the size.

About 4 years ago I built 4 hack's. All of them are still in service and have been updated as much as they need to be (kids computers so they are not totally current). I built them for around $500 each and at the time a comparable Pro was in the $2500-$3500 range.

I'm sure that current MacPro's are great machines but I'm not throwing that kind of money at a computer.

Theres a better way.....

To build a Hackintosh or to run OSX?

I've only been using Mac's for about 4 years and am really happy with them. I only use my Windows rig to play games now.

Vader pod is a rip off. You can build a unit 3x more powerful for $1500 if you are smart

Yeah, I was looking at one of the latest round ups of Hackintosh parts. Came to a pretty penny but still a lot less than a true Mac Pro.

FWIW, I've got a 15" Retina that I bought when they came out. Its NEVER had a single issue and its my daily use and travel computer. Its always on and only gets powered down when I'm on my way to the airport.

I use nearly every version of mac that comes out in my work including the new "VaderPod". Wish I could have kept it.

My issue is that he wants new price for old hardware that many may not understand can not be upgraded. (Yes owc does sell SSD's for that model).

He does admit the "potential" ram issue but brush's if off and does not state that it can not be easily replaced. Many will assume pull a simm put in a new one
not "replace/exchange the main board".

The speed difference between ivy bridge and haswell retinae is significant. I know, I have used multiple version's of both types.

That Vader Pod looks neat but thats a lot of money to drop for a computer. I think I'd rather build a bad ass Hackintosh before I bought one of those.

Yeah, a potential RAM issue is a big deal on one of these things.

The same could be said if the escrow was a friend of the buyer.

Or perhaps you're suggesting the buyer send the money to some random yahoo on the internet who decides they are a escrow (OMG), then I mail to the buyer, and hope for the best ?

Chances are the escrow will run. With a currency like bitcoin for sure. So it doubles risk for me as a seller. At least this way, two people are involved in verifying the goods are mailed.

Look, most people are trustworthy. Like 95% of people get that a few dollars isnt worth the hassle of stealing. Sure there are scammers, but if you want to trade, you need to trust. There is risk in every activity. But here is a opportunity for someone who generated a file on their computer a few years ago to get a fancy laptop in return. Take it before the bubble pops.

Yes if you have US dollars, I will sell it for less. But in magic beans... ahm.. I mean bitcoins, the price is 4. And that doesn't have a new battery and almost no use. Its not new like mine

Glass, what your not understanding about escrow is that there are several trusted members here that you can go through. I've used OGNasty 4-6 times and the deals have always worked out great. I've also used a few others and they too worked out really well.

I've sold and purchased lots of stuff here using escrow and NEVER got screwed. Your only hurting yourself by not taking escrow.

I've been screwed 2 times and both times NO escrow was used.

I paid $8 per shirt (XL, Black, Gilden (I know CHEAP), collared) with our company logo printed on them. I think I got them from customink.com
73  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Invoice from CoinTerra? on: August 19, 2014, 02:37:12 AM
Two weeks in a row I've received an invoice from them but I've NEVER ordered anything from them. Odd thing too is that the invoice is a .jar which makes me suspect the file to be some sort of trojan or virus.

Anyone else getting these?

Did you register an account at Bitmine.ch by any chance? Not even talking about an order, just an account i.e. registered e-mail address

See this thread

As a matter of fact I do have an account with bitmine.ch although I dont know why I set it up??? I never bought anything from them.
74  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Invoice from CoinTerra? on: August 19, 2014, 02:26:18 AM
Seriously though a Jar attachment?

I'm going to guess that this is targeting mobile users to empty their wallets.

Yup, .jar attachment.

I bet if one were to click on it and had Java installed it would install something bad. Theres no way in hell its legit.
75  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Invoice from CoinTerra? on: August 19, 2014, 02:22:37 AM
FWIW, I did send CoinTerra some emails last year. They could very well have been hacked....
76  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Invoice from CoinTerra? on: August 19, 2014, 02:18:42 AM
There is no way anything bad could happen if you were to open that (sarcasm). Someone likely got your email from some leaked list of emails that are associated somewhat with bitcoin. If you ignore it and/or report it as spam and/or delete it then you will likely stop receiving attacks via email.

I'm just going to delete them when I get them.
77  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Invoice from CoinTerra? on: August 18, 2014, 09:55:52 PM
lol OPEN IT !!!!11

/sarcasm

Thought about opening it on a rig that I test hardware on. If I fry the OS I've got an image I use to restore it from.

Of course I'd disconnect the machine from the network after I saved the .jar file... A guy I know recently had a friend get the cryptolocker virus... Wouldn't want that sort of thing to spread around my office.
78  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Invoice from CoinTerra? on: August 18, 2014, 09:53:05 PM
no java installed here.
79  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Invoice from CoinTerra? on: August 18, 2014, 09:42:09 PM
It all looks fairly legit (the body of the email anyway) and if the return email is a spoof from the surface it looks like its going to cointerra.com.

I'm on a Mac and I dont think I've got anything Java installed but I'm still not clicking on it.
